Brilliant!! Really polite staff. This would undoubtedly be a place I would visit again. The chef pictured was a really nice guy. The food is made in front of you and cooked to your taste and tasted brilliant. Don't think twice about visiting here to dine weather you're on your own, as a couple of a group. Thank you everyone at Teppantaki!!

Was a nice place to have lunch. Food wasn’t too bad although it would of been nice if we had some optional sauce to go with the meal. The chicken yakitori was a little dry. Customer service was ok. Overall a good first time experience.

Utterly spectacular. We had the Imperial set menu, expertly cooked right before our very eyes by a wonderful chef. We can't wait to go again. What a wonderful experience!

Nice experience, where the chefs prepare the food in front of you. The taste of the food is great, and the service is superb. The eating area hasn't had any upgrade in a long time it seems, and even though the sign in the entrance clearly states "only good food", I think it would have lifted the whole experience a bit. All in all recommended.

Food is fresh. Staff are friendly. Whilst the experience is fairly unique, I've been to other Teppanyakis where the chefs thoroughly interact with the diners by throwing food about and cracking eggs with knives etc..not here. There was a flame made and a bit of shouting but was fairly lacking. A little expensive and a little disappointing overall.

I love the teppanyaki Chinatown. The food is so nice and the staff are very polite and helpful. It's not big on some of the gimmicks like most teppanyaki places, like catching food in your mouth etc but no need for that, the food does the talking here. We usually get the emperor set meal which starts with a lovely soup followed by some sushi and a beautiful fish cake then comes the fillet of beef and duck along with scallops and king prawns which are my favourite, and the egg fried rice is so good. Im getting hungry just thinking about it. Thoroughly enjoy every time I go. I would highly recommend Teppanyaki chinatown 👍

Teppanyaki Chinatown is located in the China Town of Manchester City. We ordered beef fillet, tiger prawns, mixed vegetables and fried rice. The waitress and chef are nice there. Price is reasonable. Personally think that the food is just a little bit salty. Overall it was a satisfsctory dining experience.

I was advised this place by the hotel I was staying in. It was a lovely experience. Welcoming staff, fresh food. It was very cool to watch the food be cooked in front of you. I was alone and I had a set menu which was a bit too much food for me, but I really enjoyed it.

Experience was nice, the food did have mostly one profile of taste, it was all a little bit similar. We were sat on a table with 2 more couples, which for us was fine but it’s something to consider. They did forget a dish and brought it much later. Price was okay, on the expensive side, and staff very friendly.

The chef cooking the food right in front of you is fun. Tastes good, nothing special. Clean and well maintained. Not that expensive too.

I enjoyed the food and theatrical experience of the preparation. It was nice to see the main cooked fresh, and nice they cooked my vegetarian main before the meat went on. It was tasty, but not amazing food. The service was attentive, and live cooking and chef kept us entertained. Expect to share a table if you are a smaller group of less than 6-7 people.

Good attentive customer service, food is not bad and slightly salty. For me I couldn't tell the difference between here and other Chinese takeaway. The chief Ronnie was really nice and sounded like having a long long history working there. Was there for the cooking show, which was not something they do any more. Asked the staff sounds like customers were complaining about that, so it was cancelled except for the fire at the start. Would recommend who's after a quick bite and doesn't mind having teppanyaki without the show.

Great dining experience with a fiery cooking live in front of you ! The chefs are really friendly and the food is delicious. Quite pricey but worth the show.

delicious!! this was my first time at a teppanyaki restaurant, so being to choose from a set menu made me feel less lost by the format (i opted for 'kyoto' and chose duck as my protein). i was little worried that i was mostly paying for the gimmick of having the chef prepare the food in front of me, but the food was genuinely cooked to perfection and so tasty! and a perfect portion size for me

Lovely experience here last night, booking in advance is advised. Staff were friendly, especially the chef at our table Julius. Food was delicious, sushi of high quality as well as the prawn and stir fry rice. Their soy sauce was gluten free which was a great bonus for me. A little expensive for a cup of plum wine, price would be better for a glass. But overall, a great place for amazing food.

Great experience dining here. The staff made my birthday really special and our chef was excellent. The food was so tasty and of fantastic quality. Would love to return

This place is absolutely amazing for high quality food, the service is fast and quick, no issues from taste of the duck breast and yakisobu noodles meal which I finished off completely, nothing left on the place. The duck spring rolls are better then any takeaway place you go too. Freshly cooked right in front of you with the amazing cook. Even when sharing a table with others customers, you can have conversations with them and enjoy your meal. Deserved the five stars and will definitely come again.

Nice experience with live cooking at your table . Tried duck breast for main course and sushi for starter . The fried rice is really good . Dont go to the place for the sushi . it's ok for a starter but not the main meal .

We went to Teppanyaki Chinatown on a Friday evening. The tables are all situated round a hot plate. Once you have ordered a chef comes out and cooks your food in front of you (see photo). Prior to doing this we had two starters. The scallops were very tasty but the skewers were quite bland and dry only being resued by a soy sauce they came with. Once the time for mains came the chef came out and introduced himself. Then started cooking. The whole thing was designed to be a type of performance and it was enjoyable to watch the chef cook your dinner in front of you. We had chicken fillet (with sauce) and noodles + the mixed meat combo (with sauce) and noodles. We found both of the meat in both was a little bland and that the duck in the mixed meat combo was quite fatty as it had not been rendered. Overall, we enjoyed watching the chef cooking our meal and thought the service provided by staff was very good but we didn't think the food ( 2 starters + mains) and drinks ( 4 drinks) were worth the £90 price tag.

Lovely place, food looks great, but lacked flavour for me. The sushi was nice, I don't really eat sushi. Staff lovely and I like the idea of them cooking in front of you.

Unfortunately there was no atmosphere, we arrived a few minutes early to our booking time and were greeted with “we’re closed” I had to ask them to check for our booking, there was no one else there and our chef barely spoke to us throughout so it was a bit awkward, the starter was good and the meat was nicely cooked but £120 between two people seemed very steep for what we received. If you are booking for the experience and atmosphere definitely go earlier in the night. We will hopefully try here again and go earlier as the staff were friendly enough but unfortunately the atmosphere was severely lacking.

Sashimi and Maki rolls were delicious and the atmosphere was nice. The portions for the weekend specials were a bit disappointing. My partner got the duck breast meal which ended up being only 6 small pieces. Overall a nice experience, just maybe not that portion for that price.

I enjoyed my experience here, the food was good for the most part, however my rice was too salty, I couldn't eat it. I wouldn't mind going again but would ask the chef to add less salt and soy sauce

We had a great night last night and the staff were brilliant even with a packed house. Food was super and will definitely be back. Thank you to the team

What an amazing place, and experience! Opted for one of the set meal option (Kyoto) and offered multiple different tastes. Food was well presented, tasted superb and couldn't fault it. Ronnie (our chef) did a great job of cooking in front of us. Everyone was warm, friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be returning.

Located inside of the biggest Chinese District of Europe. The show in your table is worthy as you enjoy the food. Probably not the best quality food you have tasted though it's fun to see and watch. We enjoyed springrolls, edamame and maki. Then teppanyaki of meat, fish, noodles and rice. A place to go. Not fancy but funny. @myfavouritesrestaurants

Really enjoyed our meal! Food was lovely and it was very cool to watch it be cooked Infront of us. Both had a set meal, there was far too much food, could have easily shared the main! Tad expensive but I do feel for the amount of food we were given it was a value for our money. Staff were all welcoming.

A superb lunch in celebration of my son completing his degree. We've been here quite a few times over recent years and the service and quality of food are great. I can't speak for the evening meals but the lunchtime menus are good value too.

The steak, duck and chicken are so so dry, lack of flavour and tough. The food quality doesn’t worth the price at all. The chef leave the duck on the iron plate for wayyyy too long. He barely seasoned the food, instead he added loads of butter to it. I have no idea what I was eating. It costs me over £100 for this . All I can say is I wouldn’t eat it even it were free. Save your money for another restaurant.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
