One of the best meals I've had in Manchester. Superb Thai food. Loved the battered scallops and coriander Beef, crispy pork with papaya salad also delicious. Lovely atmosphere and great service. Highly recommended

Disappointing. Not really a Thai restaurant. It is only a blended English-Thai restaurant The curry is sweet which you don’t expect that in real Thai food. The soup should be somewhat similar to Tom Yum Kung soup but honestly it is a sweet and sour soup add with a bit spicy sauce. If you think it is a Thai restaurant, you will find very significant different when you go to Thailand once. The decor is great, which is the reason I give a three star.

📍Try Thai @ Manchester's Chinatown Another lovely spot in Manchester. As with most good restaurants, we had to queue for about 10 minutes before getting a seat for 2. We opted for the 'Vegetarian Banquet'. For 22 pounds/person, the selections were incredible! 🍃Starters - Sweet Corn Cake, Vegetable Spring Roll, Battered Aubergines with Panang Sauce, Spicy Vegetable Salad 🍛Mains - Vegetable Yellow Curry, Stir Fry Fresh Ginger with Tofu, Stir Fry Chillin & Mix Vegetables 🥥Dessert - Tea & Coconut Ice Cream The experience was exquisite. It was truly a banquet for the both of us. I thoroughly enjoyed the Thai Cuisine served here.

Long been one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester and it didn't disappoint on this occasion. The decor and atmosphere was, as always pleasant, the service was prompt and friendly and the food was excellent. We had the Beef Red Curry and the Holy Chicken with Thai Basil. The only thing that jarred a little were the laminated menu looks and feels a little bit cheap but I assume its a response to Covid.

Have a tradition to come here once a year (at Christmas) with a good friend of mine.. and you know what it’s great… we come back every year for a reason!! Menu is solid, food is great portions and full of flavour and the place is just chilled, no frills about the service, but you sort of don’t want that in here - people know they are coming for the great food at a good price. Atmosphere is always excellent when we go due to Xmas parties and the such.. it’s a tradition that will last a long time!!

I really appreciate the lunch meal deals - something most uk restaurants can learn from. For an appetizer, main, and dessert, I feel like I’m getting a good deal for an inclusive meal. Food is delicious, im satisfied with the National dish, Pad Thai, and famous green Thai curry. My only complaint is the rather small portion. However if you’ve got a small stomach, you’ll be fine. Service was a bit slow to order, but the overall restaurant atmosphere was pleasant. Worth trying out for some nice Thai food.

Been here twice, both times the food and service have been great. The first time, I ordered the crispy chicken fillet with penang curry (shown in the picture), which arrived within 15 minutes - a pretty good time, since I came on a Friday at around 7pm! The second time, I came in for lunch, which had a pretty good lunch set menu of a starter and a main for £13. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is nice - I would definitely recommend this place for reasonably priced food in Chinatown, for lunch or for an evening meal!

Had some delicious Thai dishes here today. Pad Thai and yellow curry rice were tasty, but what awed us the most was their mixed seafood tom yum soup. The soup was fantastic, and the seafood within it was fresh and large. The atmosphere was nice, and waiters and waitresses were friendly. But it cost us half pound to pack our leftover with the box they provided.

Beautiful restaurant with very tasty food! The food is very authentic and they have unique dishes such as papaya salad and pineapple fried rice (the rice is inside a pineapple!) Which are delicious! I recommend to go with a group and share dishes so you get to try all the interesting dishes. There is a service charge if with a group of 6 or more. The service itself was good. Overall great restaurant!

Meal was tasty from starters to mains. Attentive staff and nothing was too much. Location is great as well as right in China town. We had the Try Thai Mango crispy Seabass - this dish is quite spicy so if spicy isn’t for you pick something else. The starter was Try Thai platter which consisted of all the items in the starter menu.

I had the red Thai curry for lunch at this Thai restaurant in Manchester, and it was absolutely delicious. It tasted just like the authentic flavors I remember from Thailand. I highly recommend it - friendly staff, delightful food, and quick service.

Having read a few reviews, I was a bit sceptical about the service we would receive, but I guess you can't please everyone! After being shown to our seats, we were asked for our drinks orders within minutes, by a happy smiley member of staff. The food order was taken promptly when we were ready, and ordering additional drinks was no problem whatsoever. The food was absolutely delicious, and thoroughly enjoyed by our fussy teenage son. I would recommend the tamarind crispy belly pork starter, as well as the jumbo king prawn chu chi curry. An excellent evening evening, with fantastic food. I would most certainly visit again.

It is my third time visiting this Thai restaurant. Food is good and delicious and atmosphere is always great. They have waiters looking after guests need so everything is speedy and quicky. Their prices is competitive in china town too, will certainly come next time.

Had a really delightful trip here for lunch, they do a great set menu for about £13.95 a head, with a starter, main and dessert (ice-cream or coffee) having taken a trip around China town we were struggling to find somewhere and we just so happened to get a local telling us that this place did great food. They certainly weren't wrong, for the money this was a tasty meal, traditional Thai cuisine full of flavour. The decor was nice and felt really homely, the only letdowns were the dessert side of things, a small scoop of ice cream isn't really a dessert, there was a walls ice-cream tub on the counter, so nothing special. The starters were really good and the mains too. Really enjoyable.

Food was delicious. Tried the beef and broccoli with oyster sauce. Good sized portion. Parking not bad midweek. Nearby bays are free after 8pm but double check as may change.

Absolutely wonderful! Really enjoyed the food, the flavours and varieties in spice levels was delightful and delicious. The service also was very pleasant - we took our toddler who they adored and made him smile many times. He also loved the food! Look forward to coming here again.

Enjoyable atmosphere and service. Try Thai offers a good range of Thai dishes. We used to go regularly for the lunch menu, but visited more recently in the evening. They have kept the same standard for many years and are positioned in a good central location in Manchester's China Town.

Interesting selection of Thai dishes, and great presentation. In terms of the quality of dishes, there is room for improvement. But I would definitely visit again!

Pretty good food overall, but not exceptional, I've had better Thai food elsewhere. Were able to get a table luckily at a moment's notice.

Service a bit slow but that is fine by me as I hate feeling rushed and want to sit down and enjoy a few drinks when I eat. Food was the main event, ordered from the lunchtime menu and tried a few things I hadn't had before. Really enjoyed the chilli and holy basil fried rice, the coriander beef to start was great as well. Good value, will definitely be back

Very good value, 3 courses only cost £10.95 if you go in the afternoon. We had vegetable tempura, pad Thai and ice cream, they were fresh and tasty.

Service was very good. Our food and drinks arrived fairly quickly even though restaurant was full. Taste wise I wasn't too impressed with food. It could be just the dishes that we ordered. We also ordered couple of cocktails and both of them were good.

Pineapple fried rice (chicken) Pad kee mao (prawns) Soft shell crab with chilli and basil 🌶️ The soft shell crab with chilli was the highlight! Crispy yet coated in a lovely spicy moreish sauce. The other dishes were nice but nothing outstanding however, an overall pleasant dining experience.

  • 4/5 Alex H. 2 years ago on Google
I looked on google reviews and i went based on that. The food was not bad but not really really good. The soft shell crab was nice though and the coconut rice tasted awesome. We had the beef massaman too but that was nothing to shout about. Staff was friendly, helpful and polite.

What a find. Do you know that feeling when you choose what you are ordering and then you keep smelling and seeing fantastic food coming out all around you. Amazing food. You could just put a pin in the menu and not be disappointed. Love it

Try Thai has long been a staple of the China Town area of Manchester and most definitely retains its spot as one of the jewels in its crown. There's something for everyone here. For those who like their Thai food to be more traditional and authentic, or even those who like something different. Allow me to recommend the soft shell crab. Which I personally found to be exquisite. The pork belly is also absolutely mouth watering for those of a more conservative palate. The staff are so friendly and attentive without ever being intrusive. From meetings to family meals, to catch ups with friends. I thoroughly recommend Try Thai.

Went for dinner with the kids while staying in downtown Manchester. Easy to walk to. It has an authentic Thai ambiance. They were able to seat us without much of a wait on a busy Saturday night. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food arrived quickly and the service was excellent. Enjoyed the green curry.

  • 3/5 farhana 1 year ago on Google
The building has a lovely interior once you walk up. We got seated pretty quickly which was really good. I feel the service could have been slightly better as there was only 2 of us and took over 10 minutes to get asked what we wanted. The food arrived in good time. I would say the beef pad thai that I ordered could have done with a sauce of some type as it was a little try. I also ordered the flat rice noodles side which I didn’t touch at all, i was hoping there were more noodle options such as vermicelli but it was only rice ones. The door between the restaurant and the waiting area is where we were sat and the door kept slamming hard on the glass aggressively and it disrupted the meal and conversation a lot. Overall it was okay and would come again.

I have a new favourite spot in Manchester! I can’t wait to go back and try the entire menu! The milk tea was delicious the pineapple fried rice to die for! I stole a few bits of the crispy pork from my boyfriend’s plate and it was so tasty! Such a good deal for weekday lunch as well with started, main and dessert for a really good price.

Great area to eat lunch! We pre booked it as this tend to be busy on weekends! Food was good and everything as expected. I went for the set menu of £13.95 but paid £3 more for king prawns. Note: You only get 3 but they are pretty big.

  • 5/5 Aby L. 1 year ago on Google
The lunch time menu is spot on for value, taste and experience too. The staff were very courteous. The food was amazing and tasty. Will definitely go again. £12 for a 3 course meal at lunch time.

Take-away my dinner and this is vegetable fried rice with chili and holy basil. This is the spiciest thing they serve I think. Others tend to be a little sweet. Loving this cos I love the feeling of burning lips. 😂 Vegetables are fresh and chunky.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
