We had lunch at this restaurant today and it's our first time to try this place. We ordred 3 dishes: - Dual Roast Meat with Rice (Roast duck & pork belly) Crispy pork belly, the skin wasn't crispy at all, roast duck barely had any meat and flavor, all I could taste was just the sauce they pour on the dish. The side dish Chinese leaf, it's just boiled, no seasoning at all. I've tried many Hong Kong roast meat in Asian, be honestly the roast meat here wasn't that wow as I thought. - Beef Chow Mein Soup The soup itself taste good, and we liked the texture of the noodles. - Special Boiled Rice (House special meat in seafood) The dish full of shrimp, mushrooms, some kind of fishcake (we guess?), meat, carrot, Chinese leaf, pork scratchings, and some other ingredients we weren't sure what were they. The flavor was a bit plain, so my partner order extra chilli oil (£0.50) - Chilli Oil The flavor was good, it's a bit spicy. It made the rice and noodles have extra tasty flavor. (£0.50 extra for chilli oil or any other sauces) Overall the place was ok, I would say the roast meat is a bit too overpraised. Surprisingly the chilli oil was our favourite in all dishes.

One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Manchester, their roast meats are literally the best. I always order the extra soya chicken with my duck, char siu & belly pork along with egg fried rice. Oh BOY!!! Does it hit the spot. And don’t get me started on the beef brisket with noodle soup. WOW!! SPEECHLESS!!! Worth the wait and definitely worth the visit every time. Amazing staff, amazing service and top food. Will be coming back here for more.

Easily the best Chinese restaurant in Manchester, not particularly a high end establishment that focuses on interior design, more so a relaxed friendly atmosphere with its main emphasis on THE FOOD! Located in the heart of Manchester China Town, every dish is exquisite, a MUST is the Kid-do ribs.. a sticky sweet sauce which I've never found elsewhere.. UNBELIEVABLE.. And the staff are awesome 🤗

The crispy pork belly used to be delicious, BUT the quality has significantly dropped in the recent years, they have raised the price from £8 to £13 in the pace of about 3 years. That is just too expensive now. Moreover, they only fill up the sauce half way through and don't even fill up the box with meat properly, as you can see there are gaps in the corners. Not going back there. The company became very mean, they just want the money, they clearly don't care about customer service/experience.

i had the mixed seafood with veg stir fry on rice which has a glossy sauce around it. it perfectly reminds me of home comfort food, so good so fresh so fragrant. the portion was quite big. the shrimp fried rice was good too, some wok hei, simple seasoning, juicy prawns. friend ordered the roast meat and enjoyed it. the food we ordered came so quickly which is great. i do have to admit the meal is a little pricey even though the food was delicious.

Unbelievably great authentic food. You know its going to be good before you even get into the premises as the queue is long. A lot of the clientele are also native to the food served. The staff are wonderfully polite and attentive and they helped serve the food that was bought to the table. Will definitely be going again but expect to pay for such high quality food.

Visited this restaurants for 2 times. Staff here are not only friendly but care about customers. Ordered salty eggs bean curd pork vegetable soup. It contained everything for the meal, delicious but may be a little bit salty. Their staff did not add salt in the preparation and let us try before serving us. Roasted duck was tasteful even better that in Hong Kong. We ordered a half portion and a bowl of plain rice. Please not to forget to order Sau Me tea. It is full of tea aroma. The portion of the food ordered was more than enough for 2.

The food was surprisingly good! Chinatown in Manchester is pretty much only a block and a half. So Chinese food option is kind of scarce. This place is first come first serve concept. The no frills place makes up for its food. I definitely recommend the beef brisket noodle with vermicelli. You will love it! The service was friendly. Definitely check them out if you are in the Manchester area!

Short trip but a must for me, 3 roast rice, har gau and shiu mai. Exceptional food and the portions are huge, not your standard small bits from London. Highly recommended. Happy seasons, don't ever change, I will be back for more!

Staff are super friendly and the food tastes nice. The duck wasn’t too fatty or oily like another place we tried in Manchester, it was perfect! The other dish, chicken in peking, was also nice! Not too much flavouring which is the way TRADITIONAL dishes in Hong Kong are cooked. Can’t wait to visit again!!

Delicious roast meats in the centre of the city. The duck is just perfect, unfortunately the noodles we had were not particularly flavorful and just lacked oomph. Service in this place was as always friendly but brisk and you are left feeling rushed. Which to be fair is understandable as they want to turn the tables around as quickly as possible in this small establishment. So as long as you know you are visiting for the food and not the service you have your expectations set right. Will happily be returning in the future

I'd heard it was the best Chinese in town, and I can confirm it is on my top 3 Chinese restaurant. Food was so good, good portion, excellent customer service, Chinese people come here to eat, therefore even for them it is a top restaurant. I'll definitely come back to try more dishes

Seen this place on Instagram and I just had to try it, so many great reviews let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Staff were friendly and very informative on menu choices. Was recommended the Chinese triple roast never had chinese roast before but if this was anything to go off ill definitely be having it again.

Good Cantonese style BBQ meats - had the roasted duck and soy sauce chicken. The cooked dishes were also good. Prompt and efficient service.

The interior of the institution is very modest, I have not seen this anywhere in Europe, but in New York, but the price tag there was 3 times less. Food was delicious, fast service. They don't keep any spices or sauces on the tables, but if you ask them you will get them. Total price for starter + main = £22.90. Rice is not included and costs £3. I have only seen such a price in top restaurants where it is served in elegant rice bowls.

The food is really delicious and the portion is good. Highly recommended for the one who like Chinese cuisine. The only thing I was disappointed was the service of waiters.

Manchester Chinatown is not a very big place, under the cold harsh weather recently in the mid West in UK, the queue line is visible and long. When there is a queue in front of a restaurant, there must be good food. When I get closer to the restaurant, I saw the roasted duck from the windows and many people sitting inside the restaurant enjoying the meal while the queue does not mind waiting. I know this is a restaurant that serve good duck food. Pay a visit when you are there. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely no idea what the hype is about this place among die-hard western fans queueing outside days and nights without fail, so I decided to try it out with my husband and daughter who eat Chinese food most of the time and have probably tried 80% of the Chinese restaurants in Manchester. I guess as it was Monday lunchtime we didn't have to wait and were taken to a corner table in no time where our average sizes were an advantage. As expected the meal and the staff were pleasant enough, but nothing out of ordinary. My beef & vermicelli noodles dish was flavoured okay but beef was tough as it was clearly sourced from stewing beef with the use of meat tenderiser. Whoever said that there was no MSG in their dishes must be having a laugh, all Chinese restaurants use MSG, it is a matter of using more or less. My daughter had crispy belly pork, when asked, she replied that it was no different from other Cantonese eating places she had tried in the past. My husband enjoyed his Satay chicken and a couple of dim sum dishes with no issue, again he said that he knew what to expect, he just wanted a change in taste once in a while. In short, if you have never tried the typically westernised cantonese food before and you want to try it, then this is a safe bet for you, but definitely not worth the long wait outside in the rain, cold and darkness, or the tight space inside. FYI - they put 10% service charge onto your bill, I asked a waitress if they would indeed get that money, she said yes. I guess this is a way to substitute their low pay without raising the prices, but it's clearly not a service based charge imo.

First time, bit of a queue to get in (20 mins) but worth the wait! Very quick service… excellent food recommend as a veggie the “fake” chicken in black bean!!!! The best! Pinot was an acquired taste… not the best but can’t fault HS for this Very very good staff…

Cantonese classics executed perfectly. The mapo tofu had the subtle numbing szechuan pepper, wonderful crunch from the pickles, silky tofu, all in a porky and spicy bean sauce. This really hit the spot on a gloomy day. Everyone comes for the roast meats, and I have to say it deserves the hype. The char siu was insanely tender and had decent charring from the sweet glaze, and the duck had an amazing flavour. Portion size for both dishes were GENEROUS!!! The service was great too. The lady that served us said that they normally don't serve the mapo tofu on top of rice, but she made a special exception. Food didn't take too long to come out too. The tables around us ordered salt and pepper dishes too which looked amazing, but I was unfortunately way too full. This is a must go destination in Manchester's Chinatown if you want honest, delicious, and generous Cantonese cooking.

Very busy as always, waited no more than 5 minutes, then was seated. No fuss. Just delicious food. Big servings Chicken Chow Mein with crispy noodles and Special thick rice noodles.

basic surroundings in chinatown, manchester, but the food is to die for! omg… the roast meats are delicious salt and pepper chicken wings were best we’ve ever tasted! char sui chow mein gorgeous! good portions too! you might have to queue as this place is really popular give it a try

This place was VERY popular but there seemed to be a good turn over on tables, we didn't need to wait long. The canopy by the door have those waiting a little shelter from the Manchester rain. There was quite a menu, quite a basic appearance but really good service. Food portions were large, quality seemed good but I think I've enjoyed flavours more in other establishments - my colleague really enjoyed his dishes, this may be personal and linked those tastes that still aren't right for me post-covid.

there was a queue and we waited for about 20 minutes. The food were all super good! Highly recommend the braised beef and roast duck! They accepted card too!

The queue was definitely worth it! The salt and pepper ribs were amazing, we also had the deep fried chicken in OK sauce and sliced duck Szechuan style. The food was unbelievably good and the service was quick once in

We didn't try a proper 燒臘 for a long time as it's not easy to get one in Germany. 三燒飯 is not as good as I had back home but it's good enough. Good enough...👍

Been meaning to visit Happy Seasons for a long time and it did not disappoint. Simple decor and quick service, the food comes out as it's ready. If I was local I'd come here for my Chinese every time.

If you like Chinese food and not expect British manners, starter has to come first then main dish, this restaurant is quite a good idea with reasonable prices and quality. Roast duck was really nice, Alo Vera drink was good. You can park a car near by the walk only 1 minute. Atmosphere was like you eat in China. No knife and chips here.

The best beef fried rice I ever had. Love the "wok hei" scent. The rest was just okay. Efficient services, seated, ordered and food served very quickly, recommended. Unfortunately, the roast duck was sold out when we got there. We'll definitely return for that. In terms of pricing, shared with 3 person, affordable. Although it was a long queue, it was worth the wait, happy to come again.

This restaurant is located in the China Town of Manchester City. It provides authentic Cantonese style Chinese cuisine. Roasted duck, roasted belly pork & char siu, garlic spinach and golden king prawns (prawns in salted egg yolks) are my favourite dishes. Recommend to try there. They got minimum charge per person, what I remembered like GBP 17/ ppl if eat in.

A hidden gem of Manchester. Noticed the little Chinese restaurant on Google maps and had a wander to check it out. A queue was formed at around 2pm so we assumed it must be good for people to queue. The food was exceptional, with large portion sizes and the best OK sauce around. The service was great - they're very efficient with a quick (but not rushed) service. I recommend having a look at the menu online before visiting so you have an idea of what you would order beforehand. A restaurant that prioritise the food over the decor, but a very clean and comfortable space to eat in.

Pretty disappointing. They barely have like 8 dim sum items. It's a no frills restaurant, but very expensive. Come on, it's more expensive than those in London Chinatown. We ordered the roasted meat platter and only came with four pieces of duck. The charsiew was chewy and dry. I wanted to eat some veggies, so I ordered the water spinach, just to check later on the bill that it cost £14.50, and it came with barely any garlic. The service is rude, except for one of the old ladies, who was very nice. They started cleaning out table while we were still eating, which was unacceptable. Still, they charge you a service charge. They only good thing, the rice noodle dish 乾炒牛河 was really good: big portion, tender beef and nice wok hei.

Roast duck on rice is super delicious and a must-try. This place made me a fan of Chinese cuisine. Staff is friendly, the place is quite small, but ambient. Once we saw Fred Sirieix dining in this restaurant. But be ready to spend a bit more, as prices are a little bit higher.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
