Really enjoyed our trip to Herd. More of a bar setting than a restaurant but very friendly staff made us feel right at home. The cocktails were fantastic. Food was good, reasonably priced for steak (chateaubriand, creamed spinach, broccoli, mushroom and chips were all good). I would recommend the place but probably more for the drinks and the service than the food. Well worth a visit!

Attended the ginstronomy night and I am so impressed. It was a four course meal with gin pairing, the theme was Japanese inspired food which was paired with kokoro gin and liqueurs. Our first dish was Tempura tofu in miso broth with soda noodles, edamame and sesame. This was so delicious, very rich and silky texture of the broth and amazing umami and spicy flavour. This came paired with a cherry blossom gin liqueur with pomegranate. 2nd course was charred tuna tataki with pickled asparagus and enoki mushroom. Another amazing dish full of flavour, the tuna was delicate and omg the mushrooms were heavenly! Paired with a refreshing tall cocktail made with blueberry and lemongrass liqueur. Our 3rd dish was Teriyaki lamb cutlets with aubergine and miso paste and crispy noodles. There was so much lamb here and it was blushed to perfection, tender and succelent. This dish arrived with a gin and tonic using the kokoro gin, a very citrus drink. Finally I was wowed again by the dessert. A matcha pannacotta with yuzu and a sesame macadamia. The pannacotta was perfect and so silky and amazing with the macadamia

Lovely place, had the vegetarian Sunday dinner and my boyfriend had the meat Sunday dinner. They didn't have the cauliflower for the roast so instead they served some sweet potatoes and bean patty, it was delishous I was quite glad they didn't have the cauliflower in the end. They served a free cauliflower cheese to us which was a nice surprise and the portions were good in size, left very full and happy

Two roasts for £25, cannot beat it! Tasted so good, especially the greens! Meat was cooked to my liking and gravy was full of flavour. Cannot complain. 👌🏻

We went there on Valentine's Day and everything was so delicious. The best modern british cuisine in Manchester, highly recommend it! Nothing can go wrong in Herd NQ!

Last night was the the second time to got to herd and honestly I cannot wait to go back! Food is incredible... Well worth the wait on a busy Saturday night! It was inhaled in about 5 mins 😅 delicious steak cooked to perfection and the exact same with the lamb dish too (managed to get the last one!) Fab service from Liv, friendly and welcoming. Couldn't recommend it highly enough, proper hidden gem in the northern quarter 😁

We went to this place trying to look for a new place for valentines dinner. I have been living more than a year in Manchester and I had never heard about it. But no regrets at all, service and food was top notch. They had 2 options either the valentines or the normal menu. Our food was amazing, specially the mac n cheese sooo good. I would recommend it if you want to try an excellent piece of meat with super tasty sides

Not the best in the city but still worth going. The potato soup is very good, one of the best across the city. But the steak is a little bit too dry on the 30 days dry aged one. And personally I would recommend the restaurant to serve the salt separately instead of on the same plate. The decoration is nice.

Vegan review: Went to the allotment when it was at the other location and tried the 10 course taster menu! This time wasn’t overly hungry so ordered sides. The cauliflower hot wings were the best of what we tried, I would love to make my own after trying such deliciousness. Service great, location fab, food lovely. Will be back!

Love it! Been here a few times and it's always been a great experience. Food is delicious and steaks cooked to perfection. Selection of sides are fab and go perfectly with the steaks. They were also running the "steak night" deal which is amazing value. They also have a really good selection of drinks and cocktails. Will definitely be returning many more times. I would highly recommend a visit.

Went in for a few drinks after dinner. The food smelt amazing so we decided to order a few small plates, the Mac and Cheese is AMAZING. It seems they change the menu often, this is a good sign of sustainable sourcing. Would 100% recommend.

Gin bar, a jewel in Manchester, full of character and ...gin. lovely atmosphere and great character. Signature cocktail and wide gin verity. Food was excellent, comforting, delicious and generous. Great friendly and warm service, fairly priced #LetsGuide

The food was delicious. We came here for my partner's birthday dinner. He really enjoyed his steak and said it was very well prepared and tender! I didn't expect there to be much choice for a vegetarian - it is a steak place after all. So, I was very happy with the leek and potato soup and the miso cauliflower main. They tasted great! I had to take one star off though as I think charging £14 for some cauliflower as a main on its own is slightly overpriced - I would expect the sides to be included in the price in this case. The service was good. Overall, it is the perfect place for meat lovers, great value for money!

The front of house staff were great, really lovely and welcoming. The herd lager was nice and crisp, if I ended the meal after having the burrata I'd give 5 stars as that was amazing but the steak was a bit underwhelming and underseasoned. The bone marrow butter didn't taste of anything and the coleslaw was similarly underwhelming.

Amazing service, chilled vibe, excellent food. This place is perfect for a chilled evening where you can chat with friends and enjoy some great food. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that it's the best steak in Manchester. I went with the 10 ounce rump steak with triple cooked chips and tenderstem broccoli in hazelnut oil. However, part of me wishes that I'd gone with the macaroni cheese as well.

Very limited menu. Had run out of lots of things. Waited over 1 hour for food, which when it came was good. Young staff with limited initiative. Distinctly average. Now called Herd.

Absolutely fabulous place! Visited last night 8/4/22 and I can honestly say I will be returning! Great atmosphere (not too busy/ not too quiet either) and lovely places to sit also!! Cocktails are a 10/10 and the presentation of them is top class ! Had a lovely night, the man and woman who served me were extremely friendly and funny, clearly had experience and made me feel very welcome! Will definitely be returning (maybe for the food next time :)

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
