As an Indian in Manchester, I often find myself searching for ‘Indian’ food. I love Pakistani, Bangladeshi dishes but when you find dosa, idli, andhra chicken, Gobi manchurian on the menu, you know it’s Indian from India. This place is exactly that!! Loved the food, ambiance, service. Location- Very easy to locate, at the heart of the city. Ambiance- It tends to get busy and the ambiance is not exactly calm and serene and it’s because of the crowd but it’s well decorate especially those steel tiffin boxes hanging did make us feel nostalgic. Food - Chicken lollipop and Gobi manchurian were by far the best I have had in the U.K. . Okra fries and medu vada was great as well but doesn’t beat Chennai dosa. The lychee Nimbu mock tail was mind blowing, a must if you like Lychee. For mains had Chicken Adhara and Chana Bhatura. Both the dishes were good but as compared to the magnificent starters the mains felt slightly underwhelming. But they were still better than a lot what other Indian restaurants offer. Not oily and spicy and just a disclaimer my threshold for spice is low. For deserts had shahi Tukda - I liked it but probably not as good as my mum :P. Value - 4 starters 2 drinks 2 mains and desert costed us 65 which is decent value for dining in a good restaurant. Service - The staff is extremely good. The employee who attended us was super sweet and helpful. The place gives a lot of dishoom vibes but the certain items on the menu sets it apart from it. Suggestion - It would be great if you could offer a little more options for vegetarians for mains.

One of the few indian restaurant who serves authentic food in Manchester. Can’t even count how many times I’ve ordered from them online but dine in experience was amazing too. Beautiful decor, friendly staff, desi vibes and delicious food. I love their Methi Malai Matar and Chola bhatura. Definitely recommend!!

One of the place you have to try if you love spicy food! We had 3 starters and highly recommend the lamb chop, very tender but full of flavor. Dhaba style chicken comes with a thin but tasty nan bread. Lychee soft drink is perfect to go with spicy food. Staff are very patient and helpful! Table is a bit small for us and the chairs aren’t comfortable. Overall would defiantly recommend this place.

If I had to describe this restaurant in one word it would be WOW. Right from the enthusiastic team members, to the ambience and the food, left us speechless. It was my birthday dinner and it had to be special, but I am very skeptical while trying Indian or specifically Bombay style food in the UK because it's quite different from how it should be. But the moment we had the first order Pani Puri, we knew the owners were Indian or would have a Bombay touch or could be south Indian after carefully seeing the menu, and it is true. We tried Pani Puri, Kheema Pao, Chicken Chilly, Malabar Fish Fry, Hakka Noodles and Chicken Haddi Biryani. The only dish that disappointed us was the Hakka Noodles but everything else was 10/10. Will definitely visit again to try the rest of the South Indian dishes. The place is pocket friendly and I mean it. Go and try yourself 😉

Well this was my first time in Indian Tiffin Room and I did go to a few Indian restaurants in UK and a couple of other countries.Surprisingly I was amazed with the taste , quality and such friendly staff it was Shiv Raj who served us and the gentleman was really good in explaining things with a pleasant and positive attitude. Its after ages that I had Onion Rava dosa and it was as good as we had from India from our authentic restaurant.Normally when having Indian restaurant abroad they stick with the local taste and flavors but this place never had such issues.Highly recommended and see you soon.Keep up the great work guys… wishing you all success and have a fantastic tasty new year ! As you mentioned Life is too short for boring food !

We Loved it! If you want truly Indian taste then definitely go for it. You'll love it. We ordered Idli Sambhar, Maysoor Masala Dhosa & Schezwan Prawn's rice. Everything was really delicious. And the staff were so nice and helpful, also the ambience was so good. Pretty good to go on a DATE as well 😉. Go and give it a try.

Authentic South Indian taste which is very rare to find even in South India!!! The best Poori Masala ever I had in life. Poori was almost oil less, masala was topped with pomegranate and cashews. Service is top notch. They arranged a table for us even though it was fully booked. Make sure to reserve your seat before you go.

The atmosphere was nice and the decor says ‘street’, the food quality and service however just scraped average. Sides didn’t arrive at the same time as mains, one side arrived very early. The food tasted average with the Channa Batura lacking flavour. Defo benefited having the lemon rice because this alone would have been a boring meal. Wouldn’t rush to visit again.

Lovely staff, clean, spacious! Food was great: the chicken tikka boti were soo tender and easy to break (leeds let me down last time) pav bhaji was okaay needed more flavour tasted alot like homemade dhaal. Most of all the softtail was out of this world TOP DRINK and the PANI PURI DAHI PURI was the most delicious part of the item Thanks ITR MCR

Visited the place on 13/01/24 alone. The place is quite big and well decorated in Indian style. Samosa Chana Chat was quite authentic and tasty. It was fresh and hot. Masala Dosa big in size. Served with Sambar, Coconut Chutney and other Chutney. Taste wise it was good and fulfilling. Fresh Lime Soda(Sweet) tasted unique but refreshing. Staffs were friendly and repeated asked if food was good and anything needed. I also like the fact that they knew that they should serve Masala Dosa after I completed Samosa Chana Chat so that while I completed one dish one comes hot and fresh to me. I liked that proactive thought process.

This is the place to go for Indian food in Manchester. One of the best meals I've ever had. Amazing. Will definitely be coming here again and getting this meal. Friendly, helpful waiters too. Fantastic

Great food with good ambience! The food served in steel and copper cutlery was the highlight! The masala dosa took me back to the South Indian flavours, perfectly spiced and crispy. It’s in a prime spot and the perfect flavours make it a very busy restaurant, had to wait for 1 hour for the table…. They accept table booking, please book your tables for weekends and holidays to avoid the wait!

Good ambience. Always busy. Good food. I loved the food and I'm Indian. So that says something about the food. Then I returned and brought my white colleagues along. I was in Manchester for a short while on a work trip and this was so worth the trip. Lovely filter coffee, vada pav, dosa, chilli chicken. Great lassi. Good biryani. Nice cocktails.

Place was quite busy and vibe was great! Ordered the chicken briyani and instantly missed my wife. Service is good and restaurant is clean. Food was excellent, the kingfisher beer was nice and cold. Ordered a Gulbjanmun for dessert.

This is a great place for a traditional curry. My Lamb Madras was excellent. They do a nice selection of cocktails to complement the food. Well worth a visit if your in the area. It’s a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Give it a try!

Highly recommend! One of the best Indian Restaurants in Manchester. I celebrated my wife’s birthday at Tiffin Room Manchester, table for 12 on a Saturday night peak time! The food came out in no time! It was delicious! The food was amazing - the service was first class! The staff really made the night extra special! 10/10

Great Food super atmosphere I would defiantly point out the portion size of the fish its just 2 fish fingers for 8 quid 💀 other then that the food service and staff was great But the only thing I loved the most was fish 🐟 and I only was served 2 little fingers for 8 🤯

One of the fine Indian restaurants in manchester I prefer on regular basis. They’ve got a nice variety of South Indian and North Indian food and what appals me is the soled of the service. You order a dosa and it arrives before you know it. My favourite is the rava masala dosa ! And also don’t miss their Mysore filter coffee any day better than the costa even considering their price point. I would go through the hassle of booking a reservation just to go there sit ans enjoy my coffee and walk back home. Lovely staff and a place where your tummy feels you have connected it to a satisfied soul.

Great atmosphere with a brilliant team running the restaurant. Not been to such a busy establishment on a Sunday evening for a while. Even so, the waiting team were attentive and timely and the food was delicious. Shout out to Suman - thanks for the great service

Tasty, no nonsense curry and naan. Would recommend the butter chicken and garlic naan. Decent array of drinks too

Good ambience, nice vibe and amazing theme. However, the table and chair arrangement is very compact, we had to keep their cutlery aside to make a space for a meal dish. The plate in which food is served is very small to accommodate it on the table. We were just a couple who had dinner but we found space crunch while eating. The food quality and taste was OK (not that great), tbh, I didn't find it authentic like India. With all these experiences, I would give 3 ratings. This can definitely be improved with the way they are handling people and food.

Family dinner.Tasty food, good vegetarian/vegan choice. Cocktails look interesting.Friendly staff. Good service, did persuade my husband his menu choice might be too spicy for him, and warned me the chicken biryani would also be too hot for me!!!! the biryani was subtly spiced but was nearer bland than hot.

The best Indian food in town. Highly recommended restaurant if in Manchester. Very polite staff, great service and food is pretty good too. We had family dinner during our holiday in Manchester. Our family favourite were amazing cocktails with crispy okra and fish fry.

Food is always great here. I have visited this place thrice now. Its a nice place to have Indian Street Snacks. Service and staff can be more better as they didn’t helped us much in telling about the quantities and details about servings. That can be improved otherwise a nice place for munching.

This place does not compromise on flavor; it is a spicy haven squeezed between a hub of bland corporate buildings. Without fail we are always impressed by their Pani Puri, idli & Gobi Manchurian.

Saturday night, managed to get a table for two without booking (nice lady at reception), was packed out and very busy. Atmosphere and setting different to the traditional Indian restaurants. The starters were OK, although I thought the prawns undercooked. Had two curry's recommended by the waitor as their speciality, unfortunately disappointed with both as they looked to be just plain chicken and and meat curry's, the spices on the meat tasted burnt. Maybe this is the South Indian style which I'm not used to so will give another try another day.

Good experience all in all, dosas were great, they were refilling our chutneys & sambaar which was just like India so loved that too. Only the chutney with fish Tikka was way oily and didn't taste great !

Decent decor, No issues with service however fails on food. We ordered 4 dishes and the food was tasteless. Indians who had authentic Indian food will be disappointed. Tried it but not going back ever again 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Lovely restaurant! Ate here on Monday night and there was a really good atmosphere. On Mondays they have their meat-free menu so there were loads of vegetarian dishes on the menu (but you could also order items from the standard menu if you wanted meat). The staff were really attentive to allergies - brought an allergen menu and all servers checked and confirmed which dishes didn’t contain gluten and were prepared separately. The non-alcoholic cocktails were lovely.

I went to have lunch with my friends and we were really disappointed with the taste of Briyani. There is no aroma in it. Also we ordered Roti naan and a side dish. The quantity of the side dish is very less.

I have been here a few times and love the food. I live near the Cheadle branch which I also visit. The city branch is much more spacious. The goat pav is wonderful. The huge Dhosa lovely. The Manchurian Gobi is the best ever had. We only snacked on this visit and enjoyed the food and drink pit stop.

-impatient! I’ve no idea why all the staff was in such a rush that spoiled the mood! Food was absolutely delicious but wasn’t able to enjoy the meal & then just in the middle of the tea we were given the bill 😒 I don’t think will be visiting again, it’s such a shame because the food was really good 🤐

Great place to eat some nice Indian food. Some of the items are a bit expensive but I think for the flavours and portion size it's acceptable. Also environment is very traditional Indian and friendly staff. If you need like enjoying some nice Indian meals. I would reccomend Indian tiffen room.

  • 5/5 Ann-Marie M. 1 year ago on Google
Ate here on Friday night. Although busy, welcomed straight in and given a table. We were moved to another table as they noticed the one we had was a bit wobbly and needed a repair. Our waiter Michael was extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the food on the menu and we went with his recommendations. He also had a great sense of humour! I can honestly say the food was the best Indian food I have ever tasted and wish to God there was a ITR out in Switzerland where I live. 💯 recommend eating here.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel.
