amazing dim sum, we’re so glad we tried out this place :) har gow and fried prawn dumplings were so juicy, and the salted egg custard in the buns was nicely sweetened. the steamed seabass was so comforting with some hot jasmine rice <3 everything was fresh and tasted so good!

Fantastic place. One of the best dim sum places in Manchester. It's a relatively small place so quality is good. Every dish we've tried is great. Not much else to say besides a definite recommend.

Great Chinese restaurant! I stopped in for a late dinner while working in Manchester. I had the special chow mein, which was huge, the meat was good quality and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I also had some vegetable steamed dumplings which were delightful. The staff were attentive and the service was quick. It seemed a little expensive at first, but the portion size absolutely made up for that.

A superb find & one to be revisited. Excellent service & food was great. We only ordered from the dim sum menu but had a great selection.

Lovely restaurant. Our meals were amazing. Hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. The waiters also attend to you really quickly. For the quality of food, the price is very reasonable. I recommend.

Passed by a few times before deciding to give it a try. Encountered Chef Diao in person, and that's when I found out he's an authentic Hakka. There aren't many places in the UK where you can find delicious Hakka cuisine, but this one is truly worth recommending. The dim sum is freshly made by the dim sum master, and the dishes each have their own unique flavors and are reasonably priced. I really enjoyed the overall dining experience and will definitely come back.

I got myself the chicken skewers and pork chow mein. They were both really good portions, nicely presented and tasted very nice. The restaurant itself was nice and quiet and the staff were attentive and ready to serve

Absolutely LOVE this place. The dim sum menu isn't too overwhelming and everything I've tried had been amazing! It feels a lot more healthier, not as fatty or greasy as other Chinese Restaurants I've tried! One downside, if you're familiar with Hong Kong "Cha charn tern" Braised Beef Brisket noodles, the noodles used unfortunately ruined it for me. It just wasn't the same.

This is perfect for dim sum. The true taste of Cantonese food. It's hard to find a real Chinese restaurant in North quarter, this is the best place to go!!

Taste good for the Chinese dim sum. Seats ok although the spaces between tables are not far enough. Service ok.

The food is good. The service is medium. The waitress waited in front of the table for me to finish what I was eating so she could take the plates away?? This is extremely rude, pressuring a client to finish their food in a rush? I think it's already rude enough to start clearing up the table before everyone has finished (what if someone else wants to use their cutlery/crockery to finish what I'm eating? Or simply I don't want to be rushed and made feel like I'm making everyone wait). Although I've seen this is mostly cultural and not respected in most normal British restaurants. But waiting for the food to be eaten while standing there is just a different level. The food is decent but nothing really blew my mind. Waiters didn't really recommend us anything. They also didn't bring us the full dimsum menu at first. I am in no rush of going back but I wouldn't say no.

A very authentic Cantonese restaurant with dishes that are difficult to find elsewhere. You can find some of the best "dishes of the day" written on the blackboard. The dim sum was also authentic. If you want a true taste of Cantonese cuisine, this is the place to go. But don't expect the western style Chinese food though, this is probably not the right place for that.

Was recommended for their dim sum by many friends. It was our first visit here. Just because we spoke Cantonese to the staff, we were only offered menus in Chinese. FYI, not all Chinese speakers can read Chinese especially those like us British born. The dim sum menu in Chinese is pretty small and limited. Fried dough wrapped in rice noodle rolls (炸兩) = fried dough was crispy which we liked but the rice noodle roll was thick and mushy texture when it should be thin and silky. Fried turnip cake with XO Sauce (XO醬炒蘿蔔糕) = Fried turnip cake was like fried rice cake minus the turnip with very mild xo sauce flavour. Fried chive dumplings (煎韭菜餃) = this was ok but the execution of these dumplings weren't neat and were in different sizes. Siu mai (燒賣) = this one was ok too but again, each one was in different sizes. Chaozhou fun guo (潮州粉粿) = The filling was mushy apart from the water chestnut which is an unusual ingredient for this dumpling. The same problem with the execution. There was a huge one with thick skin compared to the other two. Steamed Beancurd Skin Rolls (鮮竹卷) = This was ok. The quality of the dim sum; for what we were there for, was average to under average. It felt like the chef who made these dim sum isn't a trained or fully trained 'dim sum master' (點心師父). Overall, a disappointing visit for dim sum.

first visit (dinner/main menu) second visit (dimsum) we played it safe by primarily ordering the classics bc any dim sum spot has gotta get those right! on the whole, everything was good and met expectations but not necessarily wow. i would say the cripsy chow mein was particularly tasty tho bc it was a very generous portion and so flavourful. their xlb and cheung fun were too thick for my liking (still yet to find a good xlb in mcr) and their ham sui gok was basically empty so i probably won’t order those next time. their main menu dishes are their standouts but overall a hidden gem and def deserve more recognition!

I am extremely disappointed by this place. I ordered two sides, the egg fried rice and hot and sour spice, and it was disgusting. I threw it straight out. would never recommend

Great place. Amazing food. The dumplings are excellent and I honestly could have just ordered thousands to bursting point. Only downside is the service. We were served by two waitresses, one was brilliant the other was a teenage girl who couldn't speak English very well, which sadly made the experience awkward and led to mistakes in both ordering and service. She also dropped a plate. She was very nervous but lovely. Just needs a bit of training up. The male older manager was lovely, but couldn't split the bill properly. We split the bill by 3, and we worked it out for him, but after taking my payment, he got confused, walked to the bar to work it out and then overcharged by 0.02p someone else in the group. Although we're not too fussed, especially as we had such lovely food, it's not brilliant. Would enjoy if the drinks menu having slightly more choice and more tea selection. Excellent location and friendly welcome. I would come back again because of such great food and the first waitress being great.

Great and authentic Chinese Cuisine with reasonable priced. Dim Sim, home made noodles, congee, claypot, stir-fry dishes are great and nice. You can’t miss it. Clay pot fish with Roast Pork and bean curb is great. Sweet and sour pork is perfectly cooked with great balance flavours and textures. Steam sea bass is very nice and fresh.

Excellent Chineese food, the crispy fried noodles wins.. Their famous for the Dim-Sum but we didn’t eat pork. and most Dim sums filling is mixed with pork meat or fat. Puck choi with garlic was heavenly. Service is fast and great. Dishes are large in quantity. Will try the fried aubergine next time. I recommend this restaurant if you are craving for delicious Chinese food. Don’t forget to drink jasmine tea too. You might need to wait in line if you arrive around 7 pm.

Came here for dinner but ordered mainly dim sum. Everything was pretty decent. Only weird thing was the won ton soup noodle. The noodles weren't the proper noodles you normally get when you have a won ton soup noodle. Normally theyre thin and yellow, the ones here were thick and white/light grey.

Best Chinese food I've eaten (ever?!). The prawn wonton noodle soup was a real highlight - wontons filled with plump prawns and delicious homemade noodles. The spring onion pancakes were also amazing - so flakey. They have a different menu pre-6pm but the staff were so nice and let us order from this menu even though we went at 8pm. Big portions and lovely staff. Thanks so much for a great evening

Awful. Would give it a big swerve for what it is. Unsure if the ratings are carried on from the previous establishment but I really can't see it getting decent ratings considering the other Chinese options available in Manchester.

We come here all the time. Chef Diao is one of our favourite Chinese restaurants in Manchester. They do amazing Dim Sum & also excellent mainland dishes. Not pictured here but our favourite dishes are the Dandan Noodles, pork belly & tong choi. Cucumber dish is also one of the highlights.

The service and food were nice. By far the finest Chinese restaurant we've been to in Manchester.

Cantonese restaurant wont disappoint, but this restaurant is not amazingly delicious. Good enough for homesick Hkers like me. Soy milk is delicious not gonna lie. Dim sums are just alright, the siu mai is good compare to all other dim sum restaurants in Manchester. The noodles are not that good honestly. This place is packed on Sunday midday, come early or reserve a table first, or else you will need to wait for up to an hour!

Fantastic food and lovely attentive staff. We came here by chance as another restaurant was fully booked but what a treat it was. We walked in and were greeted straightaway. We ordered our food and drinks and were informed that what we had ordered would be far too much food for us so we reduced our order, we had ordered 3 house special chow meins but they said 2 would be enough and they were right, there was tonnes of food. I had won ton soup to start and it was beautiful, with a very delicately flavoured broth and delicious won tons, we had sui mai to share and they were the best I have had anywhere. The house special chow meins was fabulous, the meats were perfectly roasted. I have attached pictures but we had already started to devour it so probably doesn't do it justice.

Pics from 2 visits. Both been very good and consistent in quality. Dim sums are freshly steamed and therefore tastier, unlike some restaurants that re-steam or keep steaming them for ages for a quick service. Texture of the noodles (supposedly homemade I think) is nice. Recommend in particular steamed dumplings, noodles and siu mai. Place is clean and decent in size but isn't as big as the typical Chinese restaurants in Chinatown or nearby, so go early or late to avoid having to queue.

Excellent Chinese food. Yummy and affordable. You may find typical cuisines in Chinese restaurants here. We have dinner here. The beef was especially good.

Chinese food here is one of the best I've had around. This is your typical local no-frills Chinese restaurant. We ordered the chicken and salted fish fried rice and the beef omelet on rice. Both were equally delicious! Price point slightly on the high side. We requested for some chili oil but they charged us 50pence for a top up! Cheeky! Tip: only the chicken meat here is halal but there are plenty of chicken dishes to choose from! Would I return - yes! Value for money - average (but not complaining)

  • 2/5 Zhenyu L. 2 years ago on Google
Certainly very overrated - beef tribe smells chemical, the fried beef hofun failed the test, Cheung Fun was served with wrong dip, while the char siu in it feels unfresh, service is rather unfriendly and slow; porridge is the only good

Amazing Food overall, make my day whenever I am here for some classic Chinese cuisine dishes, to be honest, it can't go wrong to dine here, one of my go to restaurant since I have arrived Manchester
