The best Indian restaurant I’ve tried in the UK so far. I am a foodie and I can definitely swear by this place. The ambience is lovely, customer service is 10/10.. and the food ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. The chef’s special biryani was top notch. I met my best friend after 7.5 yrs and the server was so lovely and considerate - he actually served a complimentary cake and ice-cream to celebrate the occasion 🎉🎉🥳🥳 If you visit London or Manchester, please please try out this restaurant 😀😀

Make a reservation as the restaurant gets very crowded even on a weekday. A group larger than 10 will have to order their group feast menu which is a good sample of the items they have on the menu. They have quite a large dining area with different sections. We managed to get a table for 15 of us and they sit us together. Good food and good service.

I've always struggled to book a table here and after visiting the other week I can see why! Absolutely fantastic visit! This large venue was packed even at 5.30pm when we went. The food is unbelievable and a good price too. The small plates are ace for sharing and trying different bits. The staff were friendly and efficient, they always kept checking we had everything we needed and topped up the water. I would definitely recommend to anyone. But make sure you get a booking in quick!

Food is immaculately good. We enjoyed a three course meal at Dishoom. The variety of food is great for Vegetarian and Vegans too. The unlimited tea lasts until 5pm Although, service is slow the food makes up for it. It was unbelievably hot on the day we visited, the air-conditioning was not on.

Very lovely Indian place to eat. Plates ate preferably to share and they’re exceptionally well cooked, very tasty and lots of vegetarian choices. The staff were super friendly and explained some of the dishes for is which was great. A bit expensive but it’s very good quality. The building itself it’s just beautiful too.

Really really impressive! I found it a slight modern twist on a traditional curry style restaurant. The setting is amazing, the ambience is really chill, food was all great, good level of spice! Plenty of drinks and wine options, friendly staff and overall worth visiting! We’ll be back.

The place was packed with ambiance. The service was very good and fast. The waitress was very friendly and approachable. The food wasn't what we expected, to compare Indian dishes to the other restaurants, Dishoom dishes are not near. Is like your everyday cooking, is not wow on it. It is very loud, if you need a calm to enjoy your meal, this is not the right place. We didn't enjoy any of it. Lots of left overs.

I can't begin to explain how much I loved the food. I live in America and am seriously considering flying back just for the lamb chops. As you can see, the food was so good I ate before I remembered to take photos of it untouched. I sampled several dishes and it was all so tasty. I definitely recommend going. You won't regret it.

This was the first time in Manchester Dishoom. We've been to London one and loved the experience. Here in Manchester, it was wonderful. Our host was Georgina and she was fantastic. Food was amazing and tasty. Even our 2 year old grandson was in his best behaviour. We will definitely be back to try other dishes from the menu.

Team event celebrating a birthday. The evening was truly delightful. ambiance was perfect for our celebration – the cozy yet elegant atmosphere created a warm and inviting space for our team to enjoy. One small point of feedback would be regarding the timing of the courses. While we understand the importance of pacing, there were moments when the intervals between courses felt a bit lengthy. Perhaps a slight adjustment in the timing could enhance the overall dining experience. On the whole, our team had an incredible time, and the birthday celebrant felt truly special. Kudos to the kitchen team.

VERY IMPRESSIVE! I've been wanting to go here for a while now and finally went - one of the best choices I've made! The food is absolutely delicious, best Indian I've ever had and well worth the money. The Chicken Ruby is so tasty and flavourful, quite spicy for me (but in a good way) and I would definitely recommend it - best curry I've had! Lamb Samosas are a great starter, packed full of flavour, nice and crunchy outer shell, and a kick of Indian spice. I would definitely come back here and would recommend this place. Service was very quick, waitress was very friendly and understood the menu - made us feel very welcome.

A taste sensation!!! A group of 3 of us shared a selection of small plates. Every single one was beautiful. The lady who served us was extremely helpful, she talked us through the menu and made suggestions about the dishes. Definitely will be returning!

We had a wonderful lunch here, sharing a mix of dishes which went down well with all the family. The service was excellent and staff were attentive. Every dish had its own signature twist and we found ourselves discussing our favourites long after we had finished eating. We spent more than we normally would when eating out but the food and service was so good that it felt like a really worthwhile treat.

Very nice Indian/Pakistanian restaurant. I have visited this place with my Pakistanian friend and literally she loved the food. The atmosphere is cosy. Darkish a bit like candle light vibe. Cool place though. Staff was really friendly. Nan a bit overpriced but overall food was amazing. And they are open until 11 pm so it may be a good option for late cravings

We came here for breakfast and it was just what I needed after a night out. I had the big breakfast and a cappuccino both were great. The breakfast was a good size and reasonably priced. The decor is nice, and the vibes were pretty relaxed. The service was fast and friendly.

Having previously experienced Dishoom's appeal in London, I was pleased to discover that its Manchester version kept the same great quality and authenticity. The cuisine is nothing short of excellent, with flavours reminiscent of traditional Bombay street food. The restaurant's appealing design complements the culinary pleasures by immersing customers in a vibrant setting. However, it's worth highlighting a minor setback: during my visit, there were fruit flies in the back room, which, although maybe a one-time occurrence, detracted from the entire experience. Despite this slight inconvenience, Dishoom Manchester is still a must-see for anyone looking for a genuine Bombay experience in a wonderfully established location.

We had a lovely evening. Great atmosphere and the food was brilliant. The service was excellent. We got talking to our neighbours, twice both lovely people. And finished off with a fantastic cocktail. Forgot what it is called but it was the second on the desert menu. Will we be back? Definitely. Thank you for a great evening....

I've been before and still sets the bar for quality Indian food. Not your traditional curry place, which is a good thing as there are so many excellent ones in Manchester. The food and service are first class, I prefer to order lots of starter and Tika dishes, as they are all so tasty. Finishing with the classic briyani (lamb shank). Again high quality food, staff and venue.

Visited Dishoom for late lunch & again it did not disappoint. Despite being full the service was excellent, no waiting, relaxed and the food was mouthwatering. Waiting staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The cocktails are also worth a go! We will be back.

Highly recommend Dishoom!! Food is so flavourful and a great number of options to choose from. Beautiful decor and service is top notch! Reservations are highly recommended if you don’t want to wait in long queues as it can get a bit crowded! A bit on the pricey side but every penny you spend here will be worth it! Overall a great experience!

Brilliant food and great drink selection. Better than Mowgli. The Crispy chicken small plate has the most intense and spicy sauce. The Butterfly King Prawns were lovely and big and had a lovely char to them. The Broccoli salad was a revelation, and the Tikka Roll was hearty, tasty and generous. Great service in a fantastic setting.

To be fair, I myself is not a big fan of Indian food but really liked the overall vibe & food here. The place was a bit noisy and too dark which did give a bit of a chaotic scenery & some of the menu were a bit too savoury. However nice service & reasonable price & nice food in general - surely adding value, still worth a visit I’d say!

This review from a person who tried almost all restaurants in Manchester, and I can tell you with all confidence that this place is number 1!! All the food is great, everything full or flavour and so delicious. Not to mention that it’s Halal too for people who are looking for Halal restaurants in Manchester. The whole experience overall is amazing. Can’t recommend Dishoom enough. 💫

Honestly such an amazing experience. The staff were all super friendly, Akos was our waiter, he was amazing and ran through the menu, kept sure our glasses were filled with water. The food was absolutely stunning. Everything brought out hot and quickly. Recommended 2 dishes each. We had the 4 dishes between the two of us, which was a perfect amount of food. The interior design and atmosphere was great. Would definitely go back for another meal. Need to try a dessert but I was too full haha (NEXT TIME!!)

Pretty good. Most of the brekkie stuff isn't authentic Indian. I ordered the naan that had lots of stuffing. Was very tasty. #RecommendedbySollyDj Have to book in advance. Parking available on the road closeby.

First time here and won't be our last. I have been in Manchester with work, walking past Dishoom every day for 4 days. It's always busy with people coming and going. Just had to experience it for myself. After a short wait for a table late on Friday we were seated and certainly not disappointed! Atmosphere was noisy and full of bustle, it was alive! The food was unbelievable!! Served fresh and made for sharing, it gave us a lovely immersive experience. The decor was traditional and steeped in history, it had just the right amount of unusual old fashioned pictures and the toilet really does say it all! The bar has been set very high for future bombay meal experiences.

Dining at this place was a true highlight on my trip to Manchester. The building and decor are fascinating, the staff are experts and hugely efficient and welcoming. But the star of the show is the sensational food. The spicy lamb chops were ruddy majestic and the other dishes too!! What an unforgettable treat. Cheers Dishoom.

Love the atmosphere of this beautiful building, the staff are excellent which is a good job as the tip is already added to the bill. Warning, the following review may make me sound like a right moaning Minnie! But I have to tell it as I see it. The food seems reasonably priced but the portions are small but oh so very tasty, my main gripe was that non of the serving bowls were warmed so everything started going cold quickly making you feel that you had to rush to eat your food. The naan bread is the thinnest and smallest I have ever encountered especially for the price tag, one naan is not really enough for one person. I do hate to say this but my fella described the black daal, a recipe which takes the chefs 24 hours to prepare and cook, tasted like the cheesy baked beans he had as a kid and you know what, loath as I was to admit it, I could see what he meant 😂 it has given me an idea of something new to do with baked beans though

Dishoom Manchester is a restaurant that offers a truly immersive experience. From the moment you walk through the door, you are transported to a bygone era of Bombay, with its vibrant colors, ornate decor, and delicious food. The host was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and he made us feel right at home. The ambience was warm and inviting, with Indian details everywhere you looked. Even the bathrooms were beautifully decorated, with traditional Indian tiles and colorful murals. But the real star of the show is the food. Dishoom specializes in Bombay-inspired cuisine, and their dishes are simply divine. We ordered the biryani, which was absolutely outstanding. It was perfectly cooked, with tender meat and fragrant rice. We also tried a few other dishes, and everything we ate was delicious. If you are looking for a truly memorable dining experience, Dishoom Manchester is the place to go. The food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the ambience is simply magical. **TL;DR:** Dishoom Manchester is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian dining experience. The food is amazing, the service is excellent, and the ambience is truly immersive.

Went on a recommendation really impressed with the building had lots of character seeped in history liked the kind of train station vibe. The food was rich in taste and flavour maybe too much chilli but no issues washed down with a beer or 3. Well stocked bar with a skilled barman would go again 9/10.

I have never tasted such delicious food in my life. Who would have thought broccoli salad could be that immense 😋🤤 this restaurant has taken over our previous favourite restaurant which was Fazenda 😬 well worth the 1 hour and twenty minute drive to get there. Can’t wait to go again one day xx

This is an amazing indian restaurant for a great fine dining experience. If you want to impress someone, this is definitely a place to bring them to. It has a good vibe and nice retro look taking you back to Bombay through posters and photos. We went during the week and had to wait around 10 minutes to get seated at a table. The menu offers a good variety of food to choose from. The okra fries are totally worth the hype as they're absolutely delicious with a great crispy texture and flavour. The dishes were nicely presented and the service was good and fast. Overall I think it is a great place to go out for good indian food.

Amazing Indian restaurant, must try the Jackfruit Biryani if you are vegetarian. Loved the place and atmosphere. Quick service and friendly staff. The authentic taste of India can be experienced here. The menu has a wide variety of dishes. Will surely visit again and recommend. Always book in advance as walk in reservation will lead to long waiting time.

There is a spectacular atmosphere with incense burning and light jazzy music playing overhead. The food was delicious - we ordered lots of different items from the menu to sample (some of which are pictured below). It was brought out quickly and was full of flavour! The staff were also very friendly and professional.

We went to Dishoom for a date night. We had been informed already that there can be a queue down the road if you don’t book so we were already prepared as we got there around 8pm on a Friday evening to see a small queue outside. We had just missed someone offering drinks to those waiting in line when we joined the back of the queue but not long after we had joined a guy came down to inform us of the 30minutes wait and if we were happy to queue still, which we were, we would be added to a booking and informed once a table became available. We got talking to a lovely couple so we didn’t really notice the time but it was indeed around 30minutes of waiting outside until we were invited to sit on the bench inside to continue to wait. Once we got inside to the main reception and waiting area you could smell the beautiful aromas of spices in the air! Gorgeous! It is a beautiful venue but it is dimly lit so please be careful if you have difficulties in the dark. We were quickly seated to our table which was a good size and our waiter came over to introduce himself and ask us if we had any intolerances, allergies or food preferences. My partner shared that he struggles with spicy food so our waiter went through the menu to discuss his favourites and the dishes my partner should possibly choose and ones that are spicy so he should avoid. I ordered the chicken biryani with berries and a broccoli, chilli and pistachio salad (half portion) which was amazing and I would definitely order it as a main! My partner ordered the chicken Ruby, some garlic naan and some basmati rice. Our waiter suggested we could order some poppadoms whilst we wait for our mains. Now , I don’t normally like poppadoms but these were so lightly baked (like quavers crisps texture) with black pepper and they were delicious! They came with 3 types of dips but they were delicious on there own! We also ordered some lamb samosas which I highly recommend!! We also ordered a dessert without seeing a menu which I thought was pistachio ice cream but it was in fact a milk lolly. It was delicious but I felt a bit child like eating a lolly in such a nice place. The food came a lot quicker than I expected. We were never waiting long and our waiter was very good at his job with refilling our drinks and kept us very content throughout! Our bill was under £90 and we came away with the food we couldn’t finish all nicely stored in tubs and a takeout bag. Presentation was excellent the food was delicious and I would definitely return! I’m already wanting to try the bacon on naan for breakfast. :)

Fantastic food and the truly amazing service from the most attentive, lovely Italian girl. She took great care to check for allergies and thouroughly explained the menu. First time visit - we went for Sunday breakfast. The place was already busy when we arrived before 10:00 - by contrast the rest of Manchester was really quiet - figured this was probably a good sign. Great selection of food and drink - I had the 'Big Bombay' which was delicious was unlimited top-ups on cups of chai. Service was really good - there were 17 of us split over two tables. We will definitely be making a return visit.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Manchester. We waited for 30 minutes to be seated and it was all worth it. Very clean restaurant with great food. The food was very delicious and I can’t wait to go for another meal. You can also book as a group or walk in and they will accommodate you (you need to wait a bit though)! 10/10 experience, I highly recommend.

Had an absolutely delectable Dishoom experience for our mum's birthday - the food and drinks were fab, the atmosphere brilliant, and Sian, our server, was the best! Would definitely come back again (and again!) Foodie details: The chai was the perfect balance of sweet and spice Colaba colada - lovely take on Pina colada Seekh kebabs - absolutely melt-in-your-mouth! Mutton pepper fry - such depth in flavours Nalli nihari biryani - what a way to combine two absolutely awesome dishes!

We used our key ring for our first visit to Dishoom Manchester and got a free lunch!!! As ever, the food and service were amazing, but the experience was not as good as the other Dishoom restaurants, hence the 3 stars. All the Dishoom restaurants are busy in our experience, but we felt crammed in at Dishoom Manchester even though it is a huge restaurant. We were squeezed into a small corner with several other people, and it felt awkward. This maybe as a consequence of the pandemic, but we were at Dishoom Birmingham a few weeks ago and it was not claustrophobic, and I would say it was busier than Manchester. I am not sure I would make an effort to return to Manchester Dishoom sadly.

As we entered the foyer, we were greeted and allocated a lovely table centrally in main restaurant with high ceilings and traditional etched glass privacy partitions positioned beautifully. The menu was filled with wonderful delights to choose from and priced for the quality we received. Presented traditionally on steel platters with side plates if needed. It was a joy to eat susch amazing Indo-Persian food. Highly recommended and we will be returning guests, thanks to the Manager and service staff for your wonderful engagement in describing the concept and history of this style of venue. Kindest regards Clive of Manchester
