Good location, near to tram and bus station. Good selection of food nearby, especially for asia dishes. The food quality inside the hotel is nice but just little bit expensive, around 16 pounds for a burger with chips. The staff inside the hotel is friendly and you can find them when you need help. The room in the hotel is quite big with a reasonable design. However, I am not sure is the problems of the air conditioning system problem or just my room, it is a little bit hot inside my room and I need to open the window.

Had a lovely stay. Great location walking distance to Central Manchester. Breakfast is good, nice staff. Parking is expensive at Q Piazza. Free to park bays 8pm to 8am outside and other cheaper car parks around 10 mins walk

Lovely hotel in a super central location. Checkin was a breeze, room was ready early thankfully - I wasn't aware I was early, and there was no fuss about it 😃 Shower was lovely, bed and pillows fantastic. AC could do with an update as it wasn't very strong. The in room iron was a steam model, had a bit of water in it - however it turns out it's probably faulty and leaked profusely when I turned the hot plate down onto my shirt. Reported to reception so it can be replaced. Breakfast was good, coffee could be better. All the food was fresh and regularly replenished. Sadly I only realised there was a steam room and sauna about 30 mins before checkout. I'll absolutely use this as my hotel of choice going forward 🤩

Nice hotel with beautiful rooms in a great location within the city centre, however it could benefit from a bit more attention to detail. I still gave 5 stars but if it was an option I would award four and a half however since that isn't an option I felt it wouldn't be fair to give a lesser score. We were a large party of people staying and some identified issues with dirty carpet, others had shower products with non functional pumps, one had bedsheets not covering the whole bed, also for the class of this hotel, executive rooms would be expected to have fresh milk. The breakfast was really nice and the restaurant staff were polite, helpful and accommodating, also it was obvious that they took pride in keeping tables clean and hygienic which was very much appreciated. The breakfast and drinks provided were of good quality and met our expectations. Sadly there is no hotel parking.

Room was dirty, black mould in shower. We were upgraded, and it was explained the entire third floor had this problem so why give us 2 rooms there? We could upgrade to fourth floor, so solved OK. Then at breakfast we were not allowed to bring our doggy. This is a dog friendly hotel, right? So, I had to sit in the lobby, watching my family eat breakfast at a table literally 7 metres away. All tiled floor, I felt mislead when booking. Breakfast basic. Chairs had stains, and tables chipped. Food choice basic. No covid check. This hotel is very basic, not 4 stars. Sorry.

Enjoyed my stay at Novotel - though they had some difficulty in locating my booking. The room were clean and the bed really comfy, bathroom is bright and there are a lot of accessories for personal groom. The bath needs attention as there some mould by the shower tray. It was really peaceful room given we are bang in the city centre. At the breakfast there is a selection of full English as well continental choice, as well as a few vegetarian and vegan option. A good, enjoying stay at Novotel.

I am genuinely surprised that this is a four star hotel. Strongly has the hallmarks of a bog standard three star hotel. Decor in the room is quite basic and dated/ not aesthetically pleasing. The toilet is bizarrely separate to the rest of the bathroom which was not clean; the embedded brown/yellow stain in the sink was disgusting. I see from other reviews there have been issues with the 3rd floor which is the floor I was allocated to. The lighting in the room was odd. The room was also very dusty. The air-conditioning didn’t work so I had to use a personal fan which was how I saw how much dust there was (as well as sneezing). No soundproofing from outside or within the hotel. Actually had to downgrade my review from a 2 to a 1. The electricity in the plug sockets kept randomly cutting out which meant I couldn’t sleep as the room was so hot (no working air con) and therefore my fan wouldn’t work. I had to go to sleep as soon as I got home. It was a miserable stay and I would not return.

Room was nice and big, and I loved having my own coffee machine on there. But that’s pretty much where the good bits end. Tiny toilet room which is separate from the sink so no way to wash your hands before touching doorknobs, and if I was a larger person, I wouldn’t be able to fit in the toilet room and close the door! Air conditioning didn’t work properly. I turned it to the lowest temperature to hopefully come back to a nice chilled room after dinner. Came back to find the room even warmer and the vent kicking out hot air. Complained and was told to just turn it off. So the room is too hot to sleep in, and can’t open the window because there’s constant electrical humming and traffic outside the windows. On top of that, the bed felt like I was lying on the floor, and the pillows were about as soft as a rock. Awful nights sleep (or however many hours I managed in the end). Stayed at the Premier Inn down the road before and it was much more comfortable than this Novotel, and a fraction of the price! Luckily it was a work trip so I didn’t have to pay, but good job there’s a coffee machine or I wouldn’t be able to function for work with that bad nights sleep.

Stayed here a few years ago and thought the place a bit in need of an update, happy to say that my latest stay December 2021 was much improved. I really would recommend it for a cheap and cheerful central Manchester stay!

Amazing staff, we had a huge pleasure to be welcomed by lovely receptionist Martyna, who was very supportive. Outstanding professional service with top manner, helpful and kind. Hotel's location is fantastic. Just few steps from China Town and City Center. Room is spacious and very comfy with all 4*facilities. We had Executive room on 4th floor, its fancy enough and worthy few quids for upgrade. Restaurant, bar and breakfast (£10) available. Parking Q-park next door for £27 for 24h but hotel offers 25% discount. Definitely we will be back.

When I travel, my top requirements for accommodations are clean bed linens, a clean bathroom, decent location, and helpful, responsive and courteous staff. Everything was met by Novotel Manchester Centre. The review is based on my one-night stay at the hotel. * Executive suite: The suite was clean and comfortable. - I didn't opt for the package with breakfast. * Front Desk Staff: Polite, attentive and pleasant to interact with. * Location: There are several restaurants and bars nearby, and there is convenient access to public transit; - St Peter's Square Tram station is a minute walk away - Oxford Road Station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel It was a pleasant experience for me. When I visit Manchester again, I'll most definitely think about staying at the Novotel Manchester Centre.

We checked in at 23:10, we were welcomed and given our room. The room is disgustingly filthy, sheets stained from what looked like a previous guest, mattress protector also dirty with dried/old blood stains. Extremely loud banging and thumping from other rooms, also unbearable. Really upset and disappointed with my stay tonight. The WhatsApp number stamped into our card, unreadable.

Stayed the one night. Was in Manchester for business and put up in this hotel, which was within a stone's throw from another hotel that I was at for a two day event, so a good location. Room was nice and large but the toilet was separate from the hand wash basin and shower, not too big a deal. Breakfast consisted of a buffet, which at times was lacking either fried eggs or bacon but the time I went down for (7:15am) was busier than expected. Food was good, plenty of meat options but from memory I don't think there were many options for a full English veg/vegan style. I would stay here again if needed to as there are quite a few bars and restaurants nearby. Check out was really easy too, no queues when I went to check out and it was therefore really quick.

It's OK. Not worth the £160/night plus very expensive parking nearby (£32/day). Room is OK, service is good, but breakfast is not up to usual Novotel standards. One cheese (slices), no black pudding (in Manchester), just basic stuff.

Nice hotel in a very good location right in the center of town, with multiple good dining options within walking distance. Staff was nice and breakfast OK, nothing great, but sufficient.

Good ambience in common areas and in rooms but the toilets are not properly maintained, the fixers are loose and missing. Asked for a single double bed but provided single double bed with 2 single mattresses. Asked for dental kit 3 times in not even bothered to deliver. Vague apologies during the checkout. Need to stand on the TV remote to operate. It doesnt look like a 4 star hotel.

Whilst the rooms were relatively nice, I came in late to go to an early morning meeting. They had promised on their menu in the room that 24/7 room service was available with a smaller menu after 10 pm. On using their app and later calling, I was told that this was not the case and no food could be offerred. The room service as advertised was therefore not available.

Charley at breakfast service was very great she was very nice to us and very loyal and I hope that everything continues to go great for her The executive rooms were absolutely amazing it was room 249 and 250 and I appreciate the cheese cake I would love to come here again someday but it would be recommended if you had salmon you don’t have to but it’s just recommendation

I was staying for one night with my family, and I wanted to extend the reservation. I booked online on another day by mistake. I talked to the staff to change the date. They did not respond to me. I also tried to send an email. My request was rejected and they made me pay new fees again. When I canceled my reservation, the money was not returned because it was wrong with me, and this is the cancellation policy at all. They are not helpful and I do not recommend visiting them

Good standard, comfy and spacious rooms with large TV screens and well equipped bathrooms. Good quality and reasonably varied breakfast buffet. Excellent location, very central, walking distance from Piccadily station and a 100 yards from the St Peters square tramway stop. Staff very helpful and attentive. Rooms are pricey on weekends however, upward of £250 / night for a family room. Feels a tad too much for what's on offer.

Lovely hotel, rooms are really nice and modern, with free water in the mini fridge. Breakfast was lovely and it’s literally smack bang in the centre. Lovely addition was the gym with sauna and steam room. My only fault hence the 4 stars was that the steam room didn’t really have steam in it, and smelt really damp and not nice inside. Other than that, can’t fault it, would stay again!

When booking it stated they had parking however this is not the case. All parking around is quite expensive and when we researching it stated that you can get discounted parking at Q Park. You can only get this discount if it is prebooked and have to ring the hotel for the code. Greeting was ok however during our stay have to mention how friendly and helpful Pascal was.

The reception staff were helpful and friendly, smart and professional. An asset to the hotel as we're all of the staff. The room was lovely, spacious, clean and tasteful. An impressive feature was the separate toilet from the bathroom. I usually wake up earlier than my friend and worry that if I utilize the bathroom for my shower and she wakes up needing to use the toilet I'm being unfair to her. This was the perfect solution. The television was set on the wall very neatly, the magnifying mirror in the bathroom was a bonus for me ! There was a coffee maker and kettle, a fridge and a safe, very welcome thank you. Breakfast was amazing, a vast array of food from yoghurt, fruit, cheese, cereal, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, hash browns, tomato, baked beans to eggs, 3 ways. Followed by toast, croissant, etc with tea, coffee, orange juice, and cold meats with salad. A huge selection. All of which was complimented by beautiful seasonal decorations. A memorable stay thank you all.

We chose this hotel as it was within walking distance to the train station. The staff in reception were friendly and gave us clear directions to places we wanted to visit. Our room was spotless and the beds were very comfy! The only disappointment was the shower - it seemed to be blocked till we removed the plug to empty it. The breakfast provisions were adequate and the staff in that area were very attentive. Would I stay there again? Yes.

Hotel is great, in the heart of Manchester city centre with brilliant staffs, specially Pasquale and Jaume. You will find a clean room and very comfortable bed. I was surprised when I saw the amenities from Rituals. My wife love their products, and they have good quality with great smells. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would happily return. Michael and Renata

Had an amazing business stay! Room was large ,the bed was eight queen or king ,bathroom had one of those fancy glass that you could frost if the room was to be shared . Had dinner one night in the restaurant and had the mash and chicken which was delicious. Highly recommended and will return!

This is superb hotel in a great location right in the centre and only a 10 minute walk from Piccadilly train station. The bar area is really cosy and the food was lovely. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here during the Manchester Coffee Festival, and it was a great choice. It was my first time in Manchester, so the hotel location was perfect for exploring the city. Good distance to everything you want or need.

Superb location and still somewhat tucked nicely away from the hustle and bustle of the city nightlife. The competent workforce, from the front office through to the service were a shining example. The breakfast was very good. Good value for money. Recommendable !!

Great stay, friendly and helpful staff, modern and clean and felt very Covid- safe with screens up at Reception and most staff members wearing masks including in the restaurant but, bizarrely not the bar. Lost a star because when we arrived at the bar 8 minutes before advertised closing time, a bar staff member told us they were closed before another one stepped in and served us (gaining them about £50 in sales.) Lovely breakfast too.

Not sure why I spent money for a hotel that cannot offer a normal bathroom..? The sewer of bathroom was clogged when I took a shower, reported this to someone via WhatsApp, then the only response was they’ll report it to maintenance… Four star hotel? I doubt it. Reception were nice, room was relatively acceptable so they still had one star.

Amazingly friendly and helpful staff, good sized, clean and modern rooms and an all round great place to stay. I stayed here on a business trip and the staff couldn’t do enough for us, including ensuring we had space to work from and the coffee kept coming! Lovely food in the bar area during the day and breakfast was a delight. Just fab!

Dont even know where to start from!! The staff, the service and breakfast is amazing. Very welcoming and helpful and especially on my sons birthday they put some balloons and a card for him and few extras sin the room. After a very tiring day we were given a nice surprise. Very clean and all staff quick to help.

Tucked away from the busy street but easily accessible.Clean, comfortable and quiet room but carpet looked tired and I don't quite understand the need for the toilet being in a separate (tiny) room from the shower. Breakfast was enough, although one coffee machine means there's often a queue for hot drinks.

This is the worst Novotel I ever visited. The toilet is small and separate from bathroom. I cannot wash my hands after I go to toilet. Felt so disgusting. And the room was very dirty. Mould around the shower head, stinks around the sink, carpet with stinks everywhere in the room. I regret I did not check when I checked in and found all these problems at night and did not want to bother about to complain. I wonder whether the housekeeping do any cleaning. I felt very uncomfortable honestly. It totally changed my impression about Novotel.

Front of house full praise. At £164 for the night room was a let down. Sink blocked, bath blocked, air con control panel hanging from wires, bathroom tap broken. Remote control not in the room so had to ask for another. House keeping needs training, not cleaners fault but whoever is managing them. But breakfast great and again front row staff cannot praise enough.

Perfect location for bus station, theatre, Chinatown, shops and Canal Street. Clean room, comfortable bed, polite, friendly staff and check out until 12pm Room had large tv, small fridge, very handy, kettle, hairdrier and toiletries. Large walk in shower and separate WC . Could have done with non slip mat in shower cubicle, I did turn into Jane Torville every morning. We didn't eat at hotel so cannot comment on food but we did have drink in Exchange bar which was very nice. Wetherspoons and McDs nearby and plenty of eateries. 5 min walk to Palace Theatre, reason for our trip, overall, lovely stay, thanks xx

Overall, my 1-night stay was nice. Customer Service was amazing. I arrived early & room was ready, but my luggage was stored (for free) and I was able to explore the city until the 1500 check-in time. I checked in online the day prior with no hassles. There was a small issue regarding the pre-authorization, but Nicole (I think that was her name) handled it expertly and swiftly. The room was a nice size, and my request for a bathtub was honored. There were a few maintenance issues - the USB ports by the bed didn't work, and some mold on the bathroom wall needs taking care ASAP. I was surprised there wasn't a desk in the room, but the two comfy arm chairs and desk worked well. Nice to have the complementary water in the mini-fridge. If in Manchester again, I'll consider staying here.

Here for a conference. Literally a 7 minute walk to the conference centre. We had an executive room and it was fabulous. Everything you can think of is supplied. Wonderful rain fall shower, really comfy bed. My only criticism is the room was very warm even when I turned the heating way down. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Exceptionally good scrambled egg. Staff were helpful and attentive. Drinks are silly prices! £20.50 for two medium sauvignon Blanc's with soda 🙈. That was disappointing. Well located. Will definitely return.

The room was very nice, clean and dark, so we had a good night sleep. The team was very friendly. We arrived around midnight and they welcomed us nicely, yet I had to go down twice, once for the room keys that didn't work and second to ask for bed linens and it took long minutes (1AM - every minute is long) until they arranged it. Again, they were very nice.

Nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay there and the staff were super friendly!! Only 2 things, it would have been nice to have a smart TV and they need a second PDQ in the bar.

I have stayed here a few times now and the central location is really excellent. Parking at Manchester Bloom Street is £12 for 24 hours and only a 9 minute walk away. Just be careful to pick the correct Bloom Street car park as there are at least 3 in the same vicinity, with vastly differing tariffs. If possible, upgrade to an executive room as the layout and facilities in these rooms are much better than the standard ones. This is especially true of the bathrooms. One star deducted for unsightly stains on the bedroom carpet. Stained carpeting seems to be a problem throughout this hotel as the previous times I have stayed the rooms were the similarly affected. The staff on the desk were all very helpful and friendly.

I paid twice. My stay was booked and paid from a travel agency but as soon as I arrived they presented me with an invoice to be paid before my leaving, so I paid. This morning I realized it and I wrote them, but I did not receive an answer yet. it is strange because when I asked for the invoice they come back to me almost immediately. Be careful with your booking and payment.

Super hotel , great location, friendly, helpful staff and very clean comfy rooms. Ideal for our short stay and we appreciated when we turned up early that we could drop our bags off and go for a wonder . Thank you folks !

Located in the city centre, so everything is not far away and the hotel is tucked away neatly so not so loud at night. Excellent all around. Breakfast was amazing. Staff were friendly and understanding. Rooms immaculate, only down side was the lack of a view out of the window and the ensuite shower and toilet were seperated by a wall. We stayed in a queen size family room with a queen size bed and 2 single beds. Very spacious. Be sure to ask for extra pillows if you need them!

  • 4/5 Cheryl T. 1 year ago on Google
Great breakfast and staff. A bit warm at night in the room, but overall, very comfortable and very central. Room service takes a bit long, wasn't my favourite meal, but there are plenty of excellent restaurants around for alternative evening dining. The entertainment hub wasn't easy to fathom, some instructions would have been helpful.

  • 5/5 Wayne c. 1 year ago on Google
Staff were excellent, breakfast hot fresh and tasty and didn't end up thirsty for the rest of the day after the bacon, ingredients asked good ISH quality, rooms clean and tidy but inconsistent room cleaning, some days bins emptied other days not, some days hoovered others not. same with complimentary waters. Wall between bedroom and toilet/shower was glass work a must move which is just odd but if your into that whole watching your colleague/partner n the toilet this is great for you!

Very disappointed. We booked late for a weekend for there was not a lot of choice and this seemed good value. Everything about it is bland, which I expected from a chain, but for a 4 star, everything is on the cheap side and it really looks and feels like a 3 star. They take shortcuts with everything and even the rooms look cheap. My main issue was the bathroom. I couldn't stand and have a shower as it seems you need to be less than 6 foot or 1m80 in some bathrooms. This really baffles me. They kindly moved us the day after and we got a good enough bathroom on the 3rd attempt. It was an executive room (we had booked a superior room), so maybe some room types have different bathrooms... The furniture is old and tired and attention to detail was not good at all as there was no tissue in the bathroom and toilet rolls were not replenished. We got breakfast based on reviews. Another disappointment. It looks like a canteen area, is really noisy and breakfast quality is not that good. Scrambled eggs are made from powder a nd because the area is so small, they kept running our of everything all the time... I think it's linked to the layout and space available as the staff were really friendly and efficient. On the positive side, very friendly staff, great location as you're closed to nearly everything in the centre. Beds are really comfortable and rooms are fine.

The hotel is decent and staff is friendly. Rooms are spacious. Service is below par, don't waste your time ordering room service, after 1 hour of waiting, I still didn't recieve my order, ended up going to McDonald's one block away. The TV has "tons" of channels, but you can only watch BBC 1 and 2. I've stayed at several Novotels, definitely not returning to this one. Not what I expected from this chain.
