If you want a quick served tasting menu and don't mind poor acoustics this could be the place for you... it wasn't for us, we where here to celebrate a special birthday with family and wanted to eat great food and natter. Food was good but not mind-blowing and the restaurant was SO noisy which made it very difficult understand everything the waiting staff said. We had the wine pairings along side the food which were okay but quite small pours. The restaurant obviously uses a quick turn around policy which left us feeling under pressure and rushed to leave.

Six By Nico is definitely one of those accessible taster menu experiences. Where most places charge £80+ for a taster menu…Six By Nico charge £32 for 6 courses! And it’s really great value for money…especially if it’s a celebration or date night! Pairing it with the wine flight is also a must for £27 with wine pairings for course 2 to 6…a mixture of red, whites and dessert wine! The menu changes every 6 weeks so every visit will be different…depending on how often you wish to dine here. Service is also great. Attentive and informative, there’s vegan and veg options for those who don’t eat meat and the servers know everything about each dish! A really great experience for everyone. We were a table of 4 and it took 2 hours in total for the whole 6 dishes with a break in the middle.

Came here for the once upon a time menu. Staff was super nice and friendly. Took our coats and let us choose where to sit. Food came promptly and well presented. Absolutely gorgeous taste and definitely would go again. I did get the drink that went with the theme however as I had a non alcoholic version, I don't believe I should have paid same price as an alcoholic one. However ofc there's always a price tag attached to good food.

Went for lunch on our trip to Manchester. Great service, excellent tasting menu with good presentation and flavours and reasonably priced. Nice for a special occasion or if you want a “different” kind of lunch

Wanted to give my taste buds a little umph, and decided to try out this six course tasting menu. It's really nice, friendly staff that describe your meal to you and the courses come in a timely manner. However, not a fan of the ambiance though, probably because there was a hen-night going on in the room and it was really loud. But overall a good dining experience.

Great food and a good amount of thought and skill put into it. Don’t expect huge portions as this is a tasting menu. The menu we had was amazing and I loved the themes. Only slight criticism would be the decor was a little flat. Other than that great tasting food and good service.

Lovely, unique dinning experience. Dishes were well presented and accompanied with tasting wines. Felt a little rushed but overall enjoy the experience and couldn't fault the food. Also great value.

Very much enjoyed our trip to 6 by Nico. Guilty pleasures tasting menu (and pairings wines) were fantastic. Very much enjoyed the lamb kebab & fish supper probably our favourite dishes. Very good value for money for a tasting menu. Difficult to get a table but always worth the wait!

I went while the Hollywood menu was on and had a really great experience. The menu was experimental, cute and fun. Although I only enjoyed 3/6 of the dishes, all had taste and variety (the other 3 were just not to my taste). Presentation was immaculate and I could tell they really thought about the menu. Will definitely visit again!

Food was amazing. Very happy with the vegan menu!! So much better than what it used to be. Service was poor though, very clumsy with no communication between the staff, multiple people came to our table asking the same things. And no one offered me another drink for 25 minutes so you have to try find someone but it seems like no one has any helicopter view at all. Food was delicious though and superb value for money.

Exquisite food! Really nice Sicilian fusion dishes. Everything was so tasty. The service was exceptional, we were really well looked after. I have a garlic allergy and this was well catered for and didn’t affect the quality of the food. The accompanying wine was devine. I would highly recommend this place.

The food at Six by Nico was outstanding, with each course delivering a burst of flavors that delighted our taste buds. The wine pairings complemented the dishes perfectly, enhancing the overall dining experience. The staff at Six by Nico were not only friendly but also highly knowledgeable about the menu and the wine selections. Their passion for providing exceptional service was evident throughout our meal. Among the delectable courses, the third course, Barbecue Lamb Flank with Sangiovese Primitivo, stood out as a true highlight. The combination of tender lamb and the well-matched wine was a culinary masterpiece. In conclusion, Six by Nico surpassed our expectations with its fantastic six-course tasting menu. The theme of Silici, great food, perfect wine pairings, and the friendly and knowledgeable staff made it an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend dining at Six by Nico for a memorable culinary journey.

Amazing experience, never been to Six by Nico before and was intrigued after some of my colleagues recommended it to me. The food was well balanced flavour and texture wise and got me trying many new combinations and preparations I hadn't tried before. I had the Catalonia menu and highly recommend it. The waitress was very helpful in getting a non alcoholic cocktail suggestion from the bar and explaining the difference courses to me, I had an issue where the chef had forgotten my add-on but it was rectified quickly. Great service, nice ambience and delicious interesting food! Coming back in February!

I’ve been itching to try six by nico for a long time and it did not disappoint! We were lucky enough to be in Manchester for the best of 2023 menu and it was the best meal I’ve ever had. Every dish was absolutely delicious! The Mai Thai cocktail was 10/10 too. The staff were all super welcoming and explained each dish to us. Cannot wait to dine here again in the future.

Overall lovely experience. The menu was interesting and tasty. Staff were lovely and can't fault the service. My only criticism would be the portion sizes for our particular meal option (I think it was the week before the Christmas menu was ending) and it felt like we could have used at least one or two more similarly sized plates to make it a complete experience. Otherwise very nice and decent value for money.

We had the Marrakech menu back in April. The food superb and very delicious. The wine complimented the food and staff polite, however, my only criticism would be the turnaround, we felt very rushed by the staff and not quite the calm atmosphere you would expect to match the excellent dishes.

Definitely worth the price and I would go gain but it’s not really fine dining per se because of the ingredients used (you can get them in supermarket easily) and the overall atmosphere (busy and noisy). Some dishes better than others (two dishes too salty). But I would go again because it’s tasty and fun!!!

This review is on the street food menu and the first time we’ve ever been to six by nico. Unfortunately it will probably be the last. First of all, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The white wine and Prosecco was very nice too. We were impressed and happy until this point. The food was unfortunately nowhere near the quality it was hyped up to be. Steamed bun with pork - this was meant to be a steamed bun, but by putting a broth at the bottom of the bowl, it ruined it completely as the pastry soaks up all of the liquid resulting in a stodgy pastry. The pastry was already quite thick to begin with which made it more unpleasant. The pork had hardly any gochujang flavouring as well. Samosa - was nice as far as veggie samosas go. Kebab - the lamb belly kebab was by far the best thing we ate all evening. Really liked that it was tasty and had a delicious crunch. The accompanying sides were ok, but I’m not a fan of the garlic foam. Fish taco - this was incredibly disappointing. The fish fillet was so tasteless and crunchy bbq corn does not really go with the texture of fish. The taco was equally disappointing unfortunately and had to be lathered in the salsa to get any flavour. Satay chicken - this was by far the worst thing we had to eat. You would expect satay to use the peanuts in the cooking of the food, not simply having a cooked piece of chicken with what essentially tasted like peanut butter spread on top. I’ve never had satay like this in my life and wouldn’t want to again. The leg roulade was SO dry it was tough to eat without the shallot jam or the dreaded peanut butter. Coffee dessert - slightly misinformed by their social media advert as it suggests you get a cup of coffee? The post states “Coffee” on its own and that’s what I gathered from it, although I appreciate it might be subjective. It’s in fact a coffee flavoured dessert. It was still nice nevertheless, but this could’ve been made clearer. For over £100 bill for 2 people this did not feel worth it in the slightest and sadly did not live up to the hype at all. I have given 2 stars purely due to the nice staff, drinks, and atmosphere.

I’ve been to fine dining a few times, and I wouldn’t say this is “fine dining” It’s a very nosy atmosphere where you can’t even hear what the waiter/waitress is saying. (there was even a mop bucket in the middle of the restaurant ) The food is pretty substandard, but the cost isn’t as high as other “fine dining” experiences. I would say the only thing that was close to fine dining was the portions. It took the staff 20 mins to ask us if we wanted a drink, then 40 mins until our 1st course came. The 1st course was our favourite, and then each course went downhill. The flavours didn’t complement each other. We found each dish very salty and sour, well, apart from the desert. I personally left most of the sauce and dips, and they were too much for me. The food did look good, just a shame about the taste. Overall for £39, it is what it is. If it were any more expensive, I would have given it 1 or 2 stars. Probably good job they change the menu regularly.

We loved the Japanese tasting menu. Well thought out and executed dishes, with good matching wines. Service very good, perhaps a tendency to rush through the courses a little ? Turning tables in 2 hours perhaps the price of a very good value tasting menu.

I’ve visited for 3 different menus now. The first 2 were phenomenal but the most recent children’s storybook menu was very disappointing. The food looked great but there was no innovation with flavours like we’ve seen on previous visits. Staff always 10/10.

Our first experience of Six by Nico and it didn't disappoint. We had the Once Upon A Time Chapter ll menu and it was fantastic. We opted for the accompanying wine option, which although not cheap was worth it in our opinion as each wine complimented each course tremendously well and was served at a perfect temperature. Our particular favourites courses being the ham hock and pork roulade. The fish dish was our least favourite but this was possibly just down to personal taste. The service was also great; friendly and attentive. My only criticism would be that sometimes there was not enough time between courses, which made the experience feel a little rushed. We will definitely return for a special occasion.

Myself and my partner dined here for the first time on a Sunday evening. The first interaction we had was being ignored for an older couple behind us who were collecting their coats, to then be told that we needed to leave the restaurant and come back because our table wasn't ready (we were 15 minutes early which usually restaurants appreciate). We were told to go and get a drink elsewhere (I'm not sure where you can get to/from and have a drink in 15 minutes so we had to stand outside in -1 temperatures) - not a great start. Once seated food came quickly and efficiently and was of excellent quality, the service however was a different story. There was no drinks menu on the table when we arrived and we had to ask for one. Once we had ordered we also asked the waitress if she could move the menus off the table as there wasn't enough room for them and our food and she refused and said no you need to look at what you're eating? She was very dismissive and never asked us if we wanted drinks - we had to ask every time. We also had to ask them to move the empty bottles as no-one had moved them after 10 minutes. We are very well-mannered and always said thank you but we never received a smile or a response. and it felt as if we were spoken to differently than the couple next to us who ordered 'add ons'. Although we had a lovely time, the service was definitely not reflective of high quality dining which has put us off returning I'm afraid. We paid the service charge as it is automatically added but on second thought I should have asked that it be removed.

What an amazing experience! We went during the Street food menu and had the wine pairings to match. This place has been on my bucket list for years and I wish I came sooner. Danny our waiter was beyond amazing, he was informative and provided excellent service. Thank you Six by Nico for a fabulous start to our day. I can’t wait to return!

Another Fantastic visit to Six by Nico. Great concept 6 dishes every 6 weeks. We visited during Catalonia week and it did not disappoint. Great service, well presented dishes and nice atmosphere.

Food here was superb. 5 course taster menu, every course was excellent. Had dishes I normally wouldn't order. Excellent value for money. The night we went it was a Japanese theme, menu changes every 5 weeks I believe. If you are going into Manchester book a table here. Can't wait to go back.

Can't fault it really. Food lovely. Wine choice great. Service excellent. Really enjoyed our lunch and will be back for the next theme. Recommendedcto anyone wanting a nice, relaxing, lunch or dinner without breaking the bank. Loved it!

  • 4/5 Anthony J. 8 months ago on Google
Overall, the food was good and the matching wines were excellent value. Some dishes were slightly unbalanced without the wine flight and one dish was over seasoned.

  • 5/5 David L. 9 months ago on Google
Making dining experiences more accessible and not gatekeeping great tases! Fantastic, casual and non pretentious tasting menu experience. The food really is interesting and tasty. The staff explain tastes and pairings. However it is not the formal, fancy, dine experience you'd otherwise find in such a situation (nor are the price!) both advantages if you ask me!

This place never disappoints! Always a great menu and different every time. This was a Japanise inspired menu and boy did it deliver. I have been to Japan and sampled all these dishes and it was like being there all over again. It's a six course set menu and has an optional starter and cocktail to pair with the meal. There is also an option to add wine to each course and they are paired with them to work beautifully with the tastes. As you can see from the pictures they are small but packed full of flavour when you have finished you will be full trust me.

Our first visit to Six by Nico to celebrate two family members birthdays (one being my 7 year old grandson) The service we received from the time we arrived to the time we left was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant doesn’t do children’s meals but they arranged food to accommodate our little one using the ingredients from the Tokyo tasting menu we were eating too. The food was delicious and surpassed our expectations, every course was introduced to us by knowledgeable staff. A special shout out to Neli who looked after us so well and Hollie who made sure our little one was happy and looked after. We will definitely return. Thank you

Went for an anniversary dinner when 'the chippy' was on and it was hands down one of the best dining experiences we've had. As it was a special occasion, we added the the wine pairing option which isn't necessary but highly recommended. It was fantastic to watch them prepare everything in the kitchen from our table and I really appreciated the servers explaining the dishes as they came and how the wine paired with each course. Definitely a special experience but will be back for another one of their menus in the future.

An absolutely fantastic restaurant. We had the six course tasting menu accompanied by specially selected wines. The staff ensured we received an adequate description of each meal. All very delicious despite the delicately tiny sizes of each dish we were happily sated by the end of the evening. Prices are steep but well worth every penny. Highly recommended. Go book your table!

The Greek tasting menu was wonderful. The presentations, the flavour, the mix and match of the Greece food, the colour…all contributed to the delicacy. The attentive service make the dining experience enjoyable. The reason I gave 4-star was the ventilation. I had to take a shower again and wash all my clothes to get rid of the smell.

  • 5/5 Sarah B. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent food and service! I've been here a few times now but the current Hollywood menu is outstanding. Its definitely worth the extra ÂŁ30 for the wine pairing too. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester

  • 4/5 Natalia L. 2 years ago on Google
First time at Six by Nico. It was a great experience, for ÂŁ32 you can try 5 dishes and a dessert. Probably a fair price for this fancy menu. Friendly staff and beautiful atmosphere. Our table was in a corner, close to the reception desk, definitely not the best table on the restaurant. Enjoyable night out
