Too warm and noisy for a good nights sleep. It’s in their terms and conditions that it’s not grounds for complaint for either of these things to disrupt your sleep so don’t fall for their Good Night Guarantee either. Pointless hotel rooms by an unethical company. It’s quite grubby and full of party goers. I wish I’d known in advance. I’m sure that serves a purpose. If they were honest about this I could have made my decision not to stay here. I’m sure plenty still will without having to be tricked. I’ve attached videos of their solution for the heat. Which is noise. Note that the noise level is really not a great baseline for sleep. Never mind the sirens and screaming party people outside. Don’t try and complain. Or move rooms or hotel. Your money is lost. They won’t do anything to try and help you sleep or have a nice time. Staff will play nice because they know you’ll have to deal with the complaints team who won’t contact you back or do much more than read out their legal policy terms and conditions. I really did try to help them solve this. But they don’t care. Sadly you have to book with them directly. So you’re probably already reading this once it’s too late. I’m sorry.

I didn't expect anything spectacular as it was a 'cheaper' hotel than others in the area. The bed was comfortable, the staff were nice and the shower was decent but the stink of damp and mould on the nets and curtains was awful. I didn't really want to be in there. Would have asked to move but my friends in other rooms had a similar experience. Needs a good clean and a facelift.

Don't book this hotel during the summer!. Room is too warm to sleep. There is no air conditioning. They provide a fan which only helped to circulate the warm air. It is slightly cool outside, however the windows are stuck. I managed to get one of the staff at 2am to open one of the window. It is awful. It shows 28'c inside the room. I'm writing this at 2am in the morning. All my family are awake. Bloody annoying. Never again:(

Poor Premier inn. Definitely not their usual standard. Well situated for access to bars and the Albert Hall but the room itself was tired and dated, bathroom had clearly had issues with water spoiling the skirting board. The bin was rusty, sink plughole could have done with some bleach putting down it. Edges of carpet and skirting board not very clean. Bed was not very comfortable( lumpy). Carpet in room and the corridors was threadbare in places. Window to bedroom.... we couldn't shut. There was a fan in the room, which helped a little, but the rooms were very warm.

The service and staff was GREAT. Loved the people on the desk, so friendly and so helpful. Stayed for 5 nights and did not sleep for more than 2 hours per night. Right outside my window was a glass bottle recycling bin and seriously smashing bottles jolted me away at 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am. One day it carried on until 9am. And I don’t mean one bottle smashing. I mean the sound of hundreds of bottles being poured into the bin in one go. So disappointed.

Nice air conditioning.......well in reception anyway. The guests have to sleep in bedrooms which are like bread ovens! But still have to pay premium rates! In the biggest heatwave in years this is unacceptable. Fan provided only blew hot air all around the room. This is a health and safety issue! Breakfast is advertised at starting from 6.30am. Add 20 minutes on to that at least! Had to ask twice for fresh towels to be sent to my room one day cos they forgot! The whole place is so disorganised. Premier Inn only in name, not standards!

Another Premier Inn. Looks a bit grim from the outside but is actually one of the better ones I have found. Helpful staff - I asked for a quiet room high up. Room 801 was perfect. Small bathroom but perfect for one. Bed typically comfortable. Good view out to the south of the city. Breakfast was the solid Premier Inn offering - excellent sausages. Quiet at 8am on a Tuesday morning.

Purely given this place two stars because the staff are amazing. I have stayed at this hotel a few times but for some reason they have decided to get rid of their air conditioning. Myself and my friends had the most uncomfortable stay. We received a fan from reception - which just blew hot air around. I removed the sheet off of my duvet to sleep with just the bed sheet to find that the actual duvet was stained with yellow patches. I will NOT be staying at this business ever again!

The location is ideal for those wanting to explore the city centre, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. However, both times we have stayed here (twice in a 4 week period), my girlfriend has gotten very ill and spent days throwing up. We think it is likely something about the water in the hotel, and possibly due to some poor room maintenance. Both rooms we have stayed in have not been the cleanest, and there has been signs of damp and black mould.

The reception staff are polite and friendly, but that's it, the service staff aren't friendly or polite. The room was dirty, dusty, the unit below the TV was sticky and the carpet had sticky stains & nail clippings on it. Some genius at a nearby bar/restaurant loves dropping glass bottles into a bin at all hours which really p#ssed me off. My window was unlocked & open and wouldn't close properly, reception was informed, but during my 2 night stay nothing was done about it.

A little out of town if you are limited in walking. This was the dirtiest premier inn we have stayed in so far. Very dirty smelly carpets that need renewed. You can feel the dampness in the place as there are no windows even open 2cm for air. The poor cleaners are roasted.the breakfast area was OK and cooler as there were 2 windows beside it open. The rest of the hotel need air as it has very bad air that feels damp and smells. We will never return here. I'd rather pay more to go to a better hotel. All staff were lovely which was a total pleasure during our stay. They deserve a nicer hotel to work in and front for a very wealthy premier inn owner.

Very good value for money. The hotel has a great central location, the rooms are tidy, clean, modern and spacious, staff were friendly and helpful. The room you get is also fairly quiet once you get inside so good for sleeping. You should also get free WIFI too. The only thing that could have been better would have been is if the staff were wearing face coverings/face masks when I visited in late December 2021. The law is really clear about the fact you must wear them when in an indoor setting so why so many people think they can get away with not wearing them just seems bizarre. Most of the guests I saw weren't wearing them either which wasn't great.

Really enjoyed the stay, modern room, really friendly and helpful staff (who gave us a second keycard with no questions asked) extremely central location walking distance from Manchester Piccadilly. Found it slightly unusual that house keeping didn’t tidy the room during the stay and that it’s their policy not to tidy the rooms during peoples stay. And that for clean towels and coffee/tea satchels can be fetched from reception (which staff were extremely helpful when we asked). Although I enjoyed my satay and would definitely stay here again.

Always know what you are going to get with a Premier Inn but sadly room has no air conditioning just a couple of fans. Luckily it wasn’t that hot. Only real negative is that the room is over looked by an office building that is very close. Used the self check in which is my favourite. Nice an simple. Good location. Minutes from the main shops and gay village.

Remember to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking any stay. This web site will compare countless hotel sites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is one of the most well known in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you for sure won't be disappointed. Very pleasant stay this past weekend, very clean room equipped with fan due to the extremely hot weather. Great location. Special shoutout to Ste for being so accommodating and friendly!

Stayed here as has a an event to attend. Staff were friendly and happy to help. The location of the hotel is good and nice and central. Thought my room was a bit dated and could do with a lick of paint. But overall a pleasant stay.

yet another example of Premiere Inns sweating their assets. Large but tatty hotel. Restaurant was ok tho but too small for the number of guests so Thursday morning breakfast was chaotic and they were turning people away. Room was just about ok. No case stand for unpacking, no power close the bed for charging phone over night (this seems like a British hotel thing rather than a PI thing). Thermostat was promising but didn't appear to control any heating or cooling. There was a small electric radiator in one corner which I didn't experiment with. Toilet seat was loose. Bring your own soap, shampoo, etc. as even if you are lucky enough to get a working soap dispenser (I wasn't) the soap inside is the cheapest, harshest stuff. I can see the reasons hotels choose to install dispensers in the bathroom but at least make sure they work, and spend a few pennies more for nicer suds! Staff were friendly and helpful.

Slightly odd entrance, but it is signposted, and everyone can recognise the Premier Inn sign surely!! It isn't a large reception entrance, though, so do look out. Friendly staff, but we did have to ring the bell when we arrived around lunchtime. They were more than happy to hold our bags both prior to and post- check in. Super helpful, thank you. Good rooms; up to date, clean, windows open(!), but it is a big hotel so your room could be a walk from the lifts depending on the number. Not a biggie (how can they change the size of the building?) but it's worth a little mention. Good night's sleep.

Stayed here for a night in mid October when attending a gig at Academy 2. Situated slap bang in the centre of Manchester, it was unbelievably easy to alight the train at Oxford Road station and make your way 5 minutes up the street to the hotel. The reception area of the hotel is a lot smaller than many other Premier Inns I have stayed in and there was a queue at 3pm to book in. However, the ladies working behind the desk helped me out by letting me use their printer which was appreciated, and one of them gave us information about how to get to the venue by bus. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom a good size too. One issue was that you were unable to close the window properly and with the hotel being located in a very busy area it could have done with double glazing at least as there was a lot of traffic noise and drunken people shouting at intervals all through the night. I think I read that it is a listed building, though, so this would limit what PI can do about the noise/windows. Breakfast was excellent. We didn't pre-book as I have health issues which affect whether I eat or not, so booking meals is not a good idea for me. It's great that at most Premier Inns you can just decide in the morning and pay when you enter the restaurant. Everything was tasty, you aren't crammed in like some other hotels and you can take your time - exactly the way it should be in the morning. All in all, a decent place to stay, especially if you want to be close to all the bars, pubs, the theatre, etc. Just be aware that it can be noisy.

Lovely hotel and very clean. The staff are fantastic and LGBTQ friendly which is always a bonus. The restaurant is fantastic and the food is really good. The bed in the room was a dream come true after our journey, it's so fluffy and comfortable. Every aspect of our stay was wonderful and definitely one of the best premier inn hotels in Manchester.

You can't really go wrong with a Premier Inn. Rooms are always clean and comfy, and pretty much as close to wherever you want to be as you can get. Usually our first choice for a last minute unexpected trip.

Nice hotel with a central location. The hotel is laid out in a square and it seems like you can walk miles to get to your room, especially if you initially turn the wrong way! Well maintained and comfortable. Nice helpful staff too. Sally Assurance Hound and I made welcome.

Perfect location, a couple of minutes walk from Oxford Road station, and round the corner from St. Peter's Square, great for trams, and 5 mins into centre. It's a busy location, so some road noise, but not unbearable. Looks to be some work on going inside but nothing intrusive. The family room we had was huge (really, really big!) and clean, but ready for a lick of paint. All staff we met over the 2 nights were extremely friendly, particularly the guy on reception at check-in and the breakfast host. Thank you, would be happy to recommend and stay again.

First time to Manchester. Easy to find from the train station. Rooms really nice apart from the air con did not work and had a little fan on the desk so was very stuffy. Beds comfortable. Took about 10 minutes to check in as there was 1 person doing it all and others in the back doing nothing whilst the queue got bigger.

  • 4/5 J R. 3 months ago on Google New
Cheap and cheerful really. It's within walking distance to Piccadilly, the price was reasonable and the bed was very comfortable. Despite being very busy when we visited we didn't have any issues with noise (except for the rattling bathroom fan, which thankfully only made noise when on so we could use phone torches in the night to avoid waking eachother!) They had tea and coffee sachets in reception to collect extra, and an iron and board on request. No parking but that's to be expected for central MCR. We would stay again.

A great place, I'm a wheelchair user will always choose premier inn where possible. You can easily book wheelchair rooms online with a choice of wet rooms with a shower or bath. Both the room and the bathroom were spacious and the food is served right next door. It's also in a great location in the center of Manchester with a tram stop less than 5 min walk.

I actually can't find anything wrong with premier inn's they do exactly what it says on the tin. Our room was very hot but a fan was provided and later I saw a sign saying I could ask for my window to be opened. Honestly you just need to read the signs. Paulo in the breakfast room was charming friendly and efficient a really good member of staff.

**Premier Inn Manchester Portland Street: A Standard of Cleanliness and Comfort** The Premier Inn Manchester Portland Street lives up to the high standards that one would expect from the renowned hotel chain. During my stay, I found the hotel to be exceptionally clean and tidy, maintaining the trademark quality that defines the Premier Inn experience. *Impeccable Standards:* The overall cleanliness and organization of the hotel met the hallmark expectations associated with the Premier Inn brand. The rooms were well-kept, the common areas were tidy, and the staff ensured a welcoming and hygienic environment. *Comfort and Quality Service:* The hotel maintained the comfort and quality service that Premier Inn is known for. The rooms were cozy, equipped with the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, and the staff was courteous and accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience. **Suggested Improvement:** One notable area that could enhance the guest experience would be the addition of plug sockets next to the head of the beds. This small but practical adjustment would greatly benefit guests, allowing for convenient charging of devices right by the bedside, offering added convenience and ease during their stay. In conclusion, the Premier Inn Manchester Portland Street exceeded expectations in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and service. Its alignment with the renowned Premier Inn standards makes it a reliable choice for a comfortable and hassle-free stay in Manchester.

Super comfy beds and the room was very clean. A big shout out to Paulo on reception what an asset he his to Premier Inn very welcoming and what a total gentleman could not do enough for you. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you want 1st class service and a clean and spacious room.

Perfect location, beng in the middle of everything we needed. Rooms -clean, tidy, comfy bed, however no amenities (rather expensive so I don't get why) and there was no one at reception to support us most of the time. I get it, it's their business plan and perhaps it's faster this way but on that front it could be better. Also, due to the shape of the hotel you have a very long walk to the room and the design is very confusing.

  • 1/5 Linsey 6 months ago on Google
The room had no temperature control - only a small loud fan which was useless and the room was unbelievably warm. I would have been able to sleep better in my car! Only positive is location. But don’t stay here when it’s warm.

  • 5/5 Lona K. 6 months ago on Google
It is our favourite go to and stay at place. The rooms are as expected: layed out similarly anywhere we go, towels are nice and soft, and our room was clean and the right temperature too, the staff is kind and helpful, and the breakfast is truly delicious 😋.

Clean, good shower, comfy bed. Bit dated and scruffy could do with a refurb. Also air conditioning was broken. Bit noisy as on main road and windows don’t provide the best isolation.

  • 4/5 Emily B. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms are pretty good for the price, and breakfast was nice and great value for money. Shared areas could do with a lick of paint / deep clean of carpets and it is INCREDIBLY noisy at night (having a major city centre street directly outside). That said, the bed was comfy and we managed to get a reasonable amount of sleep. Would recommend to younger people wanting a value city break

Such a great hotel! Rooms were clean and comfortable! We had a great experience staying here, the staff were amazing! Nothing was too much trouble. Especially Paolo! He had us laughing the whole time and was so welcoming! Will definitely stay here again when we visit Manchester!

Not the cleanest premier Inn I've stayed in but not too bad. Good size room and comfortable bed. We booked for Breakfast at 8am and although tea toast and cereal were available the cooked breakfast didn't start being but out till 8.30. I had a 30 minute wait and as it wasn't brought out all the same time, the bacon was getting cold and the eggs were cold so not happy about that, the staff didn't seem that bothered by this even when they were told.

A clean comfortable room as always. A great central location in Manchester. Very secure, you can't use the lifts without a key card. Only downside the windows don't open! If your looking to stay with a young family I would advise a smaller Premier Inn away from the noisy and bustling streets.

  • 5/5 Shane C. 2 years ago on Google
Lovely hotel. Great value. Rooms nice and big and clean. The beds are very comfortable...what the Premier Inn chain renowned for. The heating system in rooms is very good, great being able to set the temperature you want in the room so when your out for the day you know your coming back to a nice warm room. Only 10 mins walk to city centre/gay village/piccadily train, but your far enough that the area is quiet. Had breakfast one morning, staff very welcoming. Also a nice bonus having a machine that has hot milk! Few hotels have such a simple feature. Would definitely stay here or another Premier Inn again.

POOR. I checked in the 18th of February waiting too long at the reception until someone to come and checked me in ,I stayed 2 nights the room was like a prison no you got window and you can't open it for some fresh air ,Bathroom no air fan so if you have a hot shower it will be very steamy, no housekeeping service at all second day you room no one will come and change your bed setting which is really poor that's chain like this doesn't provide any housekeeping service in this hotel, no mini fridge in your room to put some drinks or some sweets. Do I recommend anyone to stay there more than one night of course not.

I recently visited this hotel on a work trip. The staff were very friendly, however when taking my food order I was told it would be a 45 minute wait due to a table of 7 were going to be eating, at this point the restaurant was empty and no other tables has been booked. I was satisfied with the evening food, and the staff were accomodating, however they kept on forgetting what I had ordered . My room was not to a good standard. When entering, the room smelt damp and it was very cold. When checking to see if a window was open, their was mold around the window, which explained the smell. There was a electric heater, but once turned on, there was a horrible burning smell, and the room took along time to heat up. The bathroom had a leftover wet towel from a previous guest hanging behind the door, which then made me believe the room had not been cleaned and checked properly before my visit. It clearly states that all premier inns follow a strict cleaning guide since covid. I did speak to reception and they did deal with it quickly. As I went for work purposes I was hoping for an ok Nightsleep, (being a tuesday) this was not the case, their was consistent noise throughout the night of other guests shouting, and banging, and the smell of cannabis lingered in the hallways. The location is fantastic, set in the centre on Manchester, where their are lots of restaurants, shops, and bars to choose from. Breakfast was self served, and the choices were great, and the hot food was cooked well. There was a good range of continental breakfast, and again the staff were friendly throughout. The price to stay at the hotel was good, however I have previously stayed at a few other premier inns around the country for simular pricing but much better accommodation standards. I would not stay here again

For a city centre hotel which had lots of young people checking in it was still a quiet and peaceful night. Staff amazing nothing too much trouble. Clean, comfortable room, great breakfast.

We visited the Premier Inn last night as I was watching Beauty and the Beast at the nearby Palace Theatre. It was literally a stones throw from the Hotel to the Railway Station and to the Theatre. We ate in the Hotel last night and were very impressed with the meal. Breakfast was also of a very high standard. Can I just mention David, one of your Staff. He was very helpful and a credit to your Company as were the two staff members (1 male, 1 female) at breakfast. We will definitely be booking this hotel again when we come to see The Lion King later this year.

Room was very clean and comfy, you know what you’re getting with a premier inn and can’t complain for the price. Was greeted at reception by Bruno and had a nice chat about what we would be doing in Manchester, he gave some really good recommendations and was super friendly. Great service.

Rooms are generous and comfortable, only problem being a stubborn looking stain on the chair. The staff I met were friendly, welcoming, and helpful to everyone I saw them interact with. Great situation for the building, short walk to Piccadilly Gardens and its surrounding amenities with internal restaurant and alternatives surrounding the location.

Initially a musky smell in the room and the air circulation system didn't seem to do its job and very noisy. However great location. Friendly staff. Clean room and bathroom. Great price.

Honestly cannot believe how this isn’t a full 5 star hotel. If you’re going to Manchester and want a cheap but amazing hotel, book this asap. Checking in was so easy and the employees are so welcoming and chatty. Its so easy to access the hotel and going into the hotel it was absolutely incredible. Our room was so gorgeous, and since there was 3 of us they all gave us separate beds which most hotels don’t do. We were also surprised when they gave us a easter treat! It was such a lovely thing to do and at that point i knew it was gonna be amazing. The bed was soo soft and comfortable and my entire family agreed that it was the best sleep in their life. The outside noise wasn’t too noisy- just felt more relaxing then annoying. The view was gorgeous and everything was so close to the hotel. Every good location was around 10-12 minutes from the hotel walking and everything was so easy from getting place to place. And the breakfast was absolutely delicious, it was quite of a standard breakfast but it really was worth it. I will be staying here again!

Very warm welcome by a tall young man on reception and when checking out. AJ on the bar gave excellent service and chat a lovely lad. Food was really good and breakfast was great. Room was good a little to warm though and we couldn't turn it down or open a window. Enjoyed our stay very much.

The family room had a huge amount of floor space! We stayed for 2 nights, it's situated above a casino but noise wasn't a huge issue, although we stayed weekdays so perhaps louder on a weekend. We were greeted in the room with a family size chocolate bar and a note saying they hope our family enjoy - a lovely touch! I can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't include this during our stay, although there is a decent Wetherspoons just around the corner. An overall great place to stay when visiting Manchester.

The hotel is easy to find and close to public transport links, bars, theatres, clubs etc. The hotel itself is well laid out within such an old building, the decor was the same as most premier inns (a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss along corridors) especially the bedrooms. The lobby houses the reception and 3 vending machines snacks, drinks and ice creams. The restaurant is housed on the first floor to the left and is well sign posted. I had absolutely no trouble getting around the hotel other than the main doors being quite heavy and the door night time scanner is a little high when your wheelchair bound. I did drop a star as one of the night attendants did watch us struggle a bit with the doors and made absolutely no attempt to offer assistance.

Very clean, comfy bed. Room good value for money. Twin room was at back of hotel, so pleasantly quiet (a few noisy police cars but what do you expect in a city) 25% off nearby carpark. Staff very helpful on check-out and with any problems (Attempted to use self check-in but keys didn't work and had to ask at desk for them to be sorted) Not alot of drink options in room, no hot chocolate, or bottled water, but for one nights stay, wouldn't expect too much.

Check in staff and restaurant staff were lovely, however the cleaning staff were rather ignorant. Room was lovely, however there was a stain on the lounge chair, was a struggle to climb on the beds as I am only 4ft7 (they were comfy though). Could not open a window so i was boiling during the night eventhough the heating was turned off and there was a puddle on the floor each morning due to the condensation. Curtains did not close properly as the wire was too long and sticking out. Could also do with a little fridge or something to keep milk cool.

Helpful staff. Good value. Central. Standard room. Breakfast busy, when asked for items not out for cooked breakfast it took long time and we didn't eat together, but choice available was good. Parking was not clear and is in another location, there was a discount but this was expensive, £20-25 per day. No other options. This wasn't made clear when we booked. Otherwise good.

Room, bed and bathroom were clean. There was a rip in the carpet made by the bed leg by the looks of it and it was very hot as the air con was not working (Room 123). Had lovely smelling Baylis and Harding hand wash and body and hair gel. Very tricky getting out of the shower as the bath sides are very high and bath is slippy. Didn't like to hold on to the towel rail to help me out in case it fell off the wall! Check in and out was quick. I wanted to change to twin beds and was told I should have rung earlier in the day but the app said we could only call Monday to Friday and we were staying on a Sunday night. There is a place to store bags if needed and you get a ticket to collect them. Great location for us so would use again.

It is, what it is, a basic premier Inn. £73.95 for one night check in at 3pm, check out at 12pm That is all that we needed somewhere to crash after we went to a gig. The two members of staff we met on reception in the afternoon and morning were very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean. We had booked a twin but we were given a room with a double, and a single which was fine. We had room 375 on the 3rd floor. The views were terrible, we didn't come for a view, but a voile or blind would have been a good idea at the window. As we could see into other rooms and them into us. We did not order breakfast there is a wetherspoons underneath the hotel and a McDonald's across the road. The location is fantastic, right in the centre of it. A great city atmosphere. Parking!!! Now we parked at the nova hotel as we got told there was a reduced rate if you asked at reception for a ticket. The ticket didn't work so we paid £30 for parking instead of the advertised £27. Would we stay again yes but with the cost of parking we may compare train prices. Forgot to take photos as we arrived so these are as we left. Photo of the beautiful views😆, and a quick snap of China town which is a five minute walk from the hotel.

Large, well kept double rooms. The one I stayed in had a separate lounger, a combined bath/shower in the bathroom, TV with external connections for a laptop, games console, or sound system. The service is spot on. Early check in was a cinch and the reception staff were helpful and professional throughout my stay. They were also able to offer luggage storage in the morning of my checkout while I went to grab a coffee which was much appreciated. Location is honestly perfect for central Manchester. Fast enough out from the nightclubs that you can actually sleep if you want to, but close enough that you're never walking too far.

Be aware no air conditioning in the rooms. The manager did his best to assist with fans open window etc. The temperature in the room was 27 when we arrived despite it only being 21 outside. Luckily it was pretty cool overnight but I wouldn't want to stay here in much higher temperatures.

The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
