Lovely food, specially the Spanish Tapas. Staff is lovely and very professional. Highly recommended.

Lovely decor, nice staff and food selection but a little disappointing food quality and small size of portions with some food obviously taken from a supermarket Somewhere to come get fed rather than to make a special trip to.

Absolutely incredible! Food was 10/10, staff were super friendly and the service was very efficient. We had the Roast dinner (available on Sundays), and finished off with Sticky Toffee Pudding. Wonderful atmosphere, will certainly be revisiting!

Nice restaurant in the heart of Monton. Came on a Sunday afternoon looking for food as other restaurants on the high street had closed their kitchens around 2pm. Got a table for four quickly and they took our orders swiftly too. We went for the roasts and various starters which were nice. I had the lamb which was good but I wish I had more considering the amount of sides it came with. I also ordered the creme brulée dessert which was tasty, the homemade shortbread was delicious. Overall, a nice Sunday late lunch although the music was a bit loud so it felt like we were all shouting over each other.

Food was amazing as always and so to were the staff , fab night had by all , we'll be back soon .

The service and atmosphere were great, and after hearing and reading great things I was really looking forward to trying the Tapas. Unfortunately I found it either bland or chewy. I’m not entirely convinced that the calamari wasn’t cooked from frozen.

Good quality fresh food. Great ambiance and great host. Small error when served and they rectified it immediately. Definitely recommend and I’ll be visiting again.

Good quality food. Great service. I loved the caramel pudding, just delicious; maybe my only criticism is the frites, the frites were a little overdone. I'd say perhaps rustic steak chips would be better. Overall, a fabulous experience with excellent service. We are looking forward to coming back!

A very enjoyable meal most impressed.

As a rule I would have stated 5 stars. On this occasion it was my mother's 80th birthday. It felt extremely unorganized throughout the evening /service. Menu change which was not pick up in advance. Not the best on this occasion for me. Plus the menu change wasn't for me 😳

We found this place by accident while visiting Manchester. The food is of excellent quality. The chilling vibe and well-decorated interior. The staff is accommodating, friendly and provides excellent service. Fish with sauce was melting in my mouth. It was perfection! Highly recommended.

Came here with my boyfriend for breakfast yesterday. We were seated quickly, but told that there was a 10 minute wait on food (assuming due to a large table which were sat outside.) Our drinks order was taken, then after about 15 minutes of waiting we asked to order our food to be told someone else had to come and take our order (how difficult can it be?) anyway, the food came, something my boyfriend had ordered was missing but we couldn’t be bothered with the hassle. I had also ordered an extra portion of something, and was brought the wrong item, so told the waitress what it should have been and she looked at me like it was the biggest inconvenience ever. Portions in general were small, not enough butter for the toast. Wasn’t offered any sauces or left any cutlery, had to go and ask inside. Food was ok but was overall let down immensely by the service, or lack of it.

If you are not from here, do not come to this restaurant. Came here a month or so ago. Horrible service for foreigners. If you’re local I’m sure it’s fantastic. We are clearly not from here and were treated like rubbish. Told we couldn’t order food due to kitchen being closed. So we had drinks. Couple came AFTER us and we’re able to order food and drink. Other places on the same strip are fantastic and have wonderful service for ALL.

Limited, but good selection of meals in a good environment. Made our party very welcome and we enjoyed the experience. Will return in the future as it is good value food, well presented.

Food was good and thoroughly enjoyed most of the tapas dishes we had. Don't think the tempura cod tacos work as a dish (personal preference) and the prawns were a bit bland. Meatballs and Halloumi were amazing though. Shame the menus and tables were all a bit sticky and it just felt a bit tired but would definitely return for the food.

I had inexplicably never visited before but had been wanting to. Booked a table for the Christmas get-together for me and a couple of friends. We had the early-bird menu; I had the mussels followed by belly pork. Both were superbly cooked. The two people who served us were great fun; the woman in particular (she had an authoritative air: owner? Manager?) was a one-woman ambiance generator. Fabulous all round. I'll definitely be back.

I visited here recently for a friend's birthday meal. The food was second to none. The portion sizes were good and the flavours were spot on. The serving staff also very attentive. The only downside was just how loud it was which made it difficult to hear conversation clearly on the table. However, that said, it may not be a typical evening as there was a hen party that had hired out the upstairs so on other nights this may not be an issue.

I attended a private party held at this venue and it was very enjoyable. The finger food that was brought around by servers was delicious and all the staff were excellent. The only issue I had is they have steps to get in at the entrance and the toilets are also up some quite steep stairs which I found difficult on the descent. Would definitely recommend though.

Visited for a birthday bash for 12, food was absolutely beautiful, top marks and the atmosphere was great, but the service was much to be desired, apart from one of the waitress, the other two seemt as if they didn't want to be there and everything was just too much trouble.

We decided to walk into Monton for a change from the Trafford centre. So glad we did! The food at Blacksticks is a level above what you get from the chain restaurants and the atmosphere was vibrant. Will be trying more places in Monton from now on.

The food was spot on, the service was good but we had to wait a little while to be served and wait for the food to arrive plus when we wanted to pay it took a while too, I'm putting this down to the chef being very busy (maybe not enough chefs) 🤷 hopefully this small hiccup will be fixed, but overall, I enjoyed the breakfast. I will return again 😁

Came for an impromptu late Sunday lunch after seeing some friends. Luckily they were still serving food around 3pm as other places weren't. We got seated quickly and all ordered starters and Sunday roast. Food was nice, though my lamb was slightly too salty and the cauliflower cheese was a bit tasteless, otherwise the rest of the food was good. Would like to come back and try the tapas options. The restaurant itself is quite cosy and small, so probably best to book ahead next time.

My wife and I went there on Saturday night to celebrate a relations birthday, The meal was booked for 8pm, and we duely seated upstairs...The food and service was quick and efficient, prices we're reasonable and we all had a great time.... ( This was a party of 13)....only one small minor concern,. towards the end of the meal, our table was full of empty glasses and side plates etc ..and we all felt as though the waiter's could have cleared our table to allow us a bit more room for the desserts and birthday cake....this minor hiccup in no way detracted from the overall experience.....and we would gladly recommend anyone to visit.....

I have been here before and I was amazed at how lovely the food was. Unfortunately when visiting again yesterday we weren’t as amazed. The meat board was not what we expected, very small and the meat tasted very funky. We had the meatballs which I had asked my friend had she added salt into them. The sauce just tasted purely of salt, not nice. The calamari was unfortunately the chewiest calamari I’ve ever tasted. We also had cod croquettes, they were average. Won’t be returning here as it’s not exactly cheap, gave 2 stars simply for the service.

Spontaneous Sunday lunch of which I was made very welcome despite a very busy lively restaurant. My lamb dinner was excellent! Service was a masterclass (Great staff) . The atmosphere was delightful! I would highly recommend this experience. Magnificent!!!

First time eating here, we were visiting family & looking for a quick bite as it was late on. We opted for some Tapas dishes which were very tasty and full of flavour. The staff were awesome very friendly & polite, we managed to snag a window seat indoors which was perfect would definitely recommend this spot.

Used to be really good but now only do tapas. Some dishes were good and some were poor. It is very overpriced for what you get. Expensive drinks as well.Won't be returning.

Enjoyed everything about this experience apart from the trip to the toilets. No disabled facilities down stairs. Toilets at the top of very steep stairs and then a few steps leading down to the toilets with no handrail. Also stairs to the entrance of Blackstocks very steep

A lovely meal catching up with school friends. Staff were very friendly and helpful and didn't rush us for our menu choices so we coukd have a good chat!

Dinner reservation for 2. Tapas starter a little bland, calamari like rubber bands. Apart from that, fillet steak was nice, but not worth the price. Staff were somewhat nonchalant, especially the one with love heart earrings. Be a while before we visit again.

We have visited Blacksticks on several occasions since the reopening after lockdown. The food is excellent and great value for money. Blacksticks has stood the test of time. A well established and very popular resuraunt in Monton. The menu had been refreshed since my last visit and offered a good choice - I loved the open beef wellington - thank you very much. Staff are on the ball, helpful and courteous and everything is reasonably priced. Give it try. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

We have eaten many times at Blacksticks and never been disappointed, however we ordered the Tapas Take Out yesterday and the portions were so small and totally not worth the money . £7:00 for a small amount of tender stem and the tiniest bit of Halloumi ! £7:00 for 8 tiny prawns. Such a shame but will not be ordering again .
