Super! I didn't expect to have such a great Iranian meal here. Everything was perfect. If you want to taste delicious Iranian food, you must visit this place in Manchester. They have all of the Iranian dishes and side dishes on their menu. They also serve a small bowl of Gheimeh next to each meal, which is very tempting.

Very nice place, familiar, very friendly staff. About the food: We ordered marinated olives and they were delicious and I ate it all. For mains we order item 26 I forgot the name but its chiken with walnut sauce and it was delicious, all with rice and salad, all together was so tasty. My partner ordered a lamb stew and it was very good and well done. The portions are big and the price it's fair for the portions, we took good to go because we couldn't finish everything. Overall very nice and we are looking foward to try the other plates. We came all the way from liverpool.

Iranian cuisine refers to Iran's culinary customs. Persian food is another name for Iran's culinary traditions, even though many Iranian ethnic groups have contributed to them. This is because the term "Persia" has historically been used to refer to Iran in the West. We tried the Istak which is a traditional Persian non-alcoholic malt beverage (Peach Flavour), Walnut Special Mixed Kebab - one skewer each of marinated lamb fillet, joojeh and koobideh served with grilled tomatoes and choice of rice/naan/salad or chips, Mast-O-Mosir - Shallot & Garlic mixed with thick strained home made yoghurt and finished with Saffron Tea. The tea pot was so fancy and cute at the same time. The ambience was amazing and so were the staff. As the food is freshly prepared and the restaurant usually is packed with foodies, it would take a bit longer to arrive. However, we enjoyed the entire experience 😊 Only when we consume food in its authentic form, without drawing comparisons to our own cuisine or palate, can we truly appreciate its beauty.

Beautiful restaurant! Amazing service, very detailed and they look after their customers. Food is great, our usual go to is lamb shank and koobideh kebabs-नnever ever has this disappointed. Favourite appetisers are mast mosir( shallot yogurt with freshly baked bread), Mirza gosemi (smoked aubergines served with hint of cream and toasted walnuts). Don’t forget to top up your meal with the famous saffron ice cream.

Wanted to take the folks out for their anniversary dinner. The ambiance, atmosphere and friendliness of the staff topped it off. It was our first visit and the staff recommended we order a mix grill for 2. And so did we. The taste was authentic Persian. We loved our visit there. Totally recommended.

As a Persian, I can confidently say this restaurant captures the essence of our rich culinary heritage with perfection. Highly recommended for those seeking an immersive taste of Persian gastronomy! All the staff are brilliant, but We are always excited to see our favourite member of staff, Mondana who always rushes over to greet us with so much kindness and warmth. Makes us feel like we are having dinner with family.

So the other day we went to this beautiful halal persian restaurant and absolutely loved it! We ordered kebabs, lamb neck, and my favourite Abgoosht - which is an iranian slow cooked lamb stew with potatoes and chickpeas. The waiter was courteous, and the ambience was superb. I would definitely visit this place again, and I highly recommend it 👌

i had the barberry lamb shank and it was delicious. lamb was super soft, not gamey tasting at all, and the soup was so flavourful. the rice was great, it came with butter yum, and the berries on rice gave a unique texture. the cardamom tea pot was big, enough to share for 4. the saffron rock sugar for the tea were on sticks. such an enjoyable meal in a place so beautifully decorated. the place has plenty seating in the underground floor, great for big groups :) would recommend

The food was absolutely amazing, with each dish bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The service was top-notch, as the staff who attended us was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. However, it's worth noting that due to its popularity, the wait times can be a bit high, especially during peak hours. Nevertheless, the exceptional taste of the food makes it well worth the wait. If you're a fan of Persian cuisine, Walnut is a must-visit spot in Manchester.

I come here all the time and it’s absolutely unreal. Everything I’ve had is brilliant. The 2 aubergine dishes are some of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten… The potato salad is great… The quality of their grilled meats is amazing and the bread is delicious. A must visit!

This restaurant is very deceptive from the outside but you must visit it to appreciate the setting and ambience of it. The food also stands up to it's reputation from the reviews online. I couldn't fault anything we ordered. It is very loud on the ground floor when it is busy but the seating downstairs is just as nice and is much quieter which I would probably recommend for you to request to be seated if you are going with your family.

This is the best Persian place in Manchester! The service is fabulous, friendly and attentive. The food is superb! And the ambience is authentic. The only negative is the location, but once inside you are transported to fine dining Persian style. The food is delicious as shown in the pics. Always look forward to our next visit.

I visited here under the recommendation of a friend, and what an excellent recommendation it was. The place was just buzzing well into the late hours of Saturday evening. The food was delicious. Both the girlfriend and I very much enjoyed our meals. I had chicken wings to start, and they were definitely some of the nicest wings I've ever had. One thing to be aware of; the portions are quite large. Be sure to visit on an empty stomach!

Months ago, I visited this beautiful restaurant. They gave me such amazing service and food that I had to write this review after months, and this is because it was amazing food. The best Persian food I had in Europe. Mandana and the young Kurdish gentlemen gave me such a nice feeling that I visited this restaurant three times in only four days in Manchester. I recommend this place strongly. Thanks, Mandana and Walnut.

We had a wonderful experience at Walnut. The staff were very friendly. Now I am not able to write the correct names as I have no practice with Persian, but needless to say everyyhing we ordered was absolutely delicious. It is definitely a restaurant that I will return to.

We had a nice meal on a Friday evening. Wasn't too busy and food came quick. Service was very friendly and the place is well staffed. We ordered a mixed grill for 2 plus an aubergine main. Food tasted nice but for us there wasn't enough garnish with the dishes - would suggest more salad to come with the mains rather than mainly just herbs. My son loved the Safran ice cream though. Also, the pot of mint tea was refreshing and lasted us the whole meal with a top up of hot water. Reasonable value, would come back to try some different dishes.

Awesome food, good customer service, but make sure you book beforehand, it's a very busy place. Kebabs we're spot on, lamb Shank was so soft & tender. The Rice was something different, had a unique taste to it. I'll definitely be going again.

Fantastic Persian food in Manchester! Must try the rice with tadig (crispy layer) with barberries, the lamb shank and the chicken Joojeh kebab 😍 It’s best to book at weekends, family atmosphere, polite and friendly service 👌🏼

Nothing special about the food. I feel like they should serve other sauces and not just the standard table sauces (ketchup, chilli) that you get from takeaways. Baklava is stored in the fridge and was microwaved, it was the worst I’ve ever had! Did not like the saffron ice cream at all but maybe that’s just me. For £5 the mint tea jug gives you 10 cups which is great!

Went with some work colleagues at lunchtime, was empty when I arrived, but soon started filling up. I ordered the number 22 (kobeda) and I must say it was one of the best meals I have had, absolutely delicious, perfectly spiced, and nice and hot, and my colleagues also echoed the same sentiments. The one gripe I have is that the salad is mostly mint leaves and other odd stuff, I much prefer cucumber, lettuce etc. The prices were semi-reasonable (£12), and around £2 for a small bottle of water. The restaurant was very nicely done up, clean, and welcoming, and the waitress was also really helpful, and looked after us. Parking is an issue around this area, although there's plenty in the side streets. Definitely a hidden gem, highly recommended, and will be visiting again.

Outstanding customer service is what warrants the five stars for this restaurant. Helps that the food tastes good too and prices are within reason. The interior ambience is also nice with mood lighting and good decor throughout. Would definitely recommend a visit. Try the Abgoosht for something traditional and different.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
