🫤 What a joke! A city like Manchester with no proper visitors centre! No information on the old centre to let you know they have moved and where. I feel sorry for the foreign tourists. Few leaflets, a ridiculously huge city map. The staff do their best with a smile and are very nice.... It must be fru... People often mention Manchester, city, centre, information, staff, visit,

What a joke! A city like Manchester with no proper visitors centre! No information on the old centre to let you know they have moved and where. I feel sorry for the foreign tourists. Few leaflets, a ridiculously huge city map. The staff do their best with a smile and are very nice.... It must be frustrating working in such an environment. Hopefully this is temporary, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

This visitor centre is well placed in the center of town, just off the gardens tram stop.and next to the travel information an purchase office. Inside the staff are quick to help and informative without being intrusive. There is a good selection of information packs and leaflets of what is available to do across Greater Manchester... Even for those who have lived here a while. Well worth popping in.

This information centre is in a very good location at Piccadilly gardens next to the public transport information centre.literally at the top of the interchange.the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.it hasn't the range of leaflets or souvenirs since it scaled down in size and moved to it's current location.still worth a visit for ideas of places to visit.

My first stop in Manchester after arriving at the train station, I'd done a little research online before arriving in town, but being from the stone age I wanted to grab a physical map and talk to an actual person before exploring. Was slightly apprehensive given the negative reviews here. My first impression was it was not much of a visitor centre, just some nice stacks of maps for the taking and not much else. So like another guide here I decided to just grab a map and leave; as I was about to one of the staff approached me and asked if she could be of help. So I told her the sights that I wanted to see, and from the top of her head she indicated on my newly acquired map where things were, what buses to take and directions to get there. I guess all the information you need is available in the visitor centre, but its in the heads of the staff and you need to know enough about what you want to do for them to help you. I think I would have spent a lot more time walking in circles getting my bearings if it wasn't for the helpful lady from the visitor centre. My one gripe, and its not a reflection on the service provided, is the location of the centre, it would have been jolly useful if it had been located in the train station I arrived at, but given that Manchester has multiple major train stations, coach stations and an airport, its understandable why they would chose to have a single central location.

This visitor information is located in a prime spot within the central library of Manchester. The person at the information point provided us with a wealth of information about Manchester City, including points of interest to visit. The bar and restaurant recommendations were quite helpful, and you can also obtain a map of the city.

Visited 4pm Wednesday 6th April. Very knowledgeable professional guide answering my questions over historic buildings from roman to the industrial revolution and the origination of why Manchester grew to become a city. Thank you

I miss the old centrally located tourist info on the corner of the bus terminal in Piccadilly Gardens… 😢 The space was spacious and bright, with a cool ambiance, lots of info and various quality souvenirs of the city. I will never understand the decision to downgrade to what is now only a dark small corner of the library, with limited opening hours.

Old buildings are great but not much culture to speak of. Walkable city. 4 days was too long. Karen -Canada

It offers a big and colourful free map of Manchester as well as many leaflets of events happening around the city. Great starting point for Manchester newbies!

I called in yesterday. I thought the staff were very rude. No idea why one staff turned his back towards another member of staff and both started giggling. They showed their ignorance in the way they treated me and also how they treated me over an hearing problem I have. Kept turning away from me as I was speaking. Not very nice people and should not be employed because of their stinking attitude towards me as a customer. Also had a feeling they were taking the mickey because of a my accent!!!! Not very nice people at all. I hope this lot do not treat everyone the same way!!!! No smiles, no hello and just plain rude. I am thinking of making a complaint after how rude they were. They should not be allowed to get away with this.

Awful first experience.. Drove to Manchester to go shopping and within the city centre there was large groups of students on e scooters on the roads and pavements/ ignoring lights! Driving in an unfamiliar place is hard enough as it is with cameras also around which add to your stress. Yet this council seems happy to allow hundreds of people to break the law with what appears to be little to no action taken. I would not recommend this city as a tourist in my humble opinion..

Great place to visit if visiting city for the first time. They can provide you with maps, places to go and restaurants to eat at. The person I spoke to was very knowledgeable and friendly.

It took us nearly two hours to find the current TIC as the existing street signs and maps are still directing visitors to the old TIC. This is very frustrating for visitors and staff alike so please can you sort this out.

Awful tourist information. Walked in and waited by the desk for 5 minutes - no acknowledgement or hello or smile fron the male member of staff. I walked away, took a map and left. Great Welcome to Manchester...thank you. A smile and hello don't cost a thing.

The official tourist centre for Manchester! A good place to start for new visitors to the city. They have free city centre maps available as well as lots of info about local attraction (and slightly further afield too). It's also worthwhile dropping by if you're a local resident as they have lots of leaflets about forthcoming events. Plenty of good quality and tasteful souvenirs on sale too!
