Nice little square to sit and take a break while touring around the city, during Christmas, you can find there a variety of Christmas markets selling food! Remember to scan Lincoln's statue to tell you his story! This is one of the talking statues in Manchester

Sculpture made by George Gray Barnad for Cincinati, Ohio in 1917. Later two copies were made, for Louisville and Manchester, the latter being given to the city as a souvenir of the support provided by the workers of Manchester to the American president. This was made in 1919

Surrounded by construction the last time I visited but Google wants a review nevertheless. Apparently I'm an art critic now. This statue is literally awful. Why are his hands and feet so big? Why is his face so mottled and veiny? I only went to show a friend how truly terrible this statue is.

To mark Africa Day 25th May, took a group to see some historic activists. Including a statue of Abraham Lincoln, Mahat Magandi, Mrs Mambu who was first black African Lord Mayor of Manchester.

When you think that Lincoln had contact with the city of Manchester back in that time, quite a compliment for the city.

A surprising statue with an intriguing story of Manchester's humanity. Stopped with Manchester Walking Tours and Chris Hoyle. Brilliant statue and tour!

A cool quiet square... just sit and relax... and try to play the game because this is the perfect place to remeber how Britain buried its history of slavery.
