A good hotel that's starting to show its age. The rooms definitely need a renovation, the carpets are stained, the walls are dented, the showers leak, and the beds are stiff. That said, the staff and location make up for it. Everyone I met was very friendly. Finally, the location. This hotel is extremely convenient to the main rail station in Manchester, which has frequent mainline rail, metro rail, and bus service. A great spot to stay a couple days and see the best of Manchester.

Next level service from the Doubletree, loved it when they gave us key cards which didn't let us in our own room.

I absolutely loved my stay! The staff throughout the stay were always friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy too. What really made the stay though was the little extras that elevate them above other hotels in the area. On arrival, we were given a free (warm) cookie each and a complimentary drinks voucher for the bar! To me, this separates the average hotels from the more discerning ones, and all adds to a more enjoyable experience. The breakfast was a buffet and couldn't fault that either. All was hot, and clearly quality produce... and the scrambled egg is amazing!! As far as parking, use Q-Park Piccadilly. It's literally just around the corner (and the lift from the car park almost drops you right at the door to the hotel)! Whilst the hotel can give you 15% off at the car park, I personally found a far greater discount by pre-booking it the night before. I managed to get my 24-hour stay for under £10, which is amazing in the centre of Manchester. I've stayed at another Q-Park in Manchester, and it's been £24 for the same period. In terms of location, it was perfect too. Near to piccadilly station, Portland Street, and a stones throw from Canal Street (Gay Village). I can't sing this place's praises high enough and will definitely be staying here again.

Exceptionally good stay, great location. We arrived to a friendly welcome by Elena who managed to get us a room, despite us being a bit early. Room was comfortable, good selection of toiletries. They need to upgrade to smart TVs. That said, we’d definitely stay again.

Good solid city centre hotel. Friendly reception staff. Decent clean rooms and nice bar & restaurant. Food is not bad and a very good breakfast. Rooms are on the small side but have everything you need. Decent small gym on 1st floor. Not cheap - £3.75 for a 1/2 pint of lime and soda.

Fantastic hotel and great staff who went the extra mile for us. Lovely comfortable rooms with some really nice touches including a fridge. Breakfast was excellent and staff got us some freshly cooked vegetarian sausages. 10/10, we’ll hopefully be back again soon.

Awful experience. Would never wish to stay in this hotel again. King suite was possibly the worst suite I have ever stayed in. Stains all over the couch and carpet. Furniture was cheap. Fridge not cold. Bed was fine and comfortable however. Although when booked states late checkout with suite then told after arrival that this was then not possible. Poor customer service by junior reception staff. Would never want to return.

I mean… your flight was canceled, you can’t leave Manchester for 24 hours, and you’re traveling with 4 kids. That’s why you’re here, right? Staff were lovely, free cookies until they found my kids burning off steam in the gym. No other amenities available. We ate off property for dinner but breakfast was great. Our room slept 6 (one small child on the floor) and had a nice bathroom.

Great location, very close to Piccadilly train station and only a 10 min walk from the shopping centre, room was immaculate and a good size. Breakfast buffet was fab and the food tasted amazing. We had a lovely view from our room as it overlooked the canal. Would highly recommend.

Attended a conference here. The hotel is well located, next to the train station, with plenty of parking options within a 2-3 minute walk. Service is ok, food variety could be improved. But overall not too bad for a conference and staff were trying hard to keep the coffee area clean and well stocked.

We arrived early yesterday knowing that our room would not be ready, Marian ( I hope I spell her name correctly, apology if it's not!) did her best to sort things out and kept our luggage while we had lunch. When we came back from lunch, our room was ready and checked in before check in time. She is so friendly and smiley... On our way back from breakfast this morning, she recognized us and waved with a big smile! She's a lovely person. Also, breakfast is pretty good with nice options and if you're Diamond member you have more choices.

Had a lovely meal here and impressed with the high standards and friendly staff. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Good menu with limited options. Inside the restaurant there is a large amount of space and group bookings would be possible.

We always pick it when we want to stay in Manchester or fly from Manchester airport. Bedrooms are always nice with super comfy mattresses, friendly staff, complimentary drinks and delicious welcome cookies. We would be more happy if they would offer us a breakfast box for takeaway as we had to leave the hotel at 5.00. I am really really happy that they changed the plastic individual small shampoo, conditioners with permanent refilled ones!! Less plastic is always better!!

Great hotel for location, a couple of minutes walk from Manchester Picadilly train station, and close to loads of options for food, drink and entertainment. Nice hotel bar, decent food, hearty buffet breakfast (see photo) which at £12 wasn't really too bad for a big city centre hotel. Room was spacious, clean and we'll appointed. Slept well with no outside noises etc. I do wish hotels would make it easier to cast content from personal devices etc. Can't stand these hotel issue TVs where everything is locked down on the options/settings. Not a big deal though, would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Manchester.

Had an overnight stay for a business trip and I must say the staff (in particular Kismit) were super friendly and very welcoming. The facilities were modern and of a very high standard. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The food was great and the location perfect, close to all the main city centre amenities. I highly recommend this hotel and will be staying here for all future trips to Manchester.

Did a 2-day course in this hotel. Welcoming staff in the reception. Well-located , next to the train station. The snacks for break time were good. Lunch was okay, it could be better if more items added.

Ive stayed in this hotel several times over the course of 6 months and I really enjoyed my stay every time. Their breakfast is excellent and it starts at 6am (most hotels start at 7am). I like the fact that they are trying to stay 'green' as much as possible so they have shampoos and conditioners in big bottles so no waist with one use small plastic bottles. Rooms are clean and cosy. The location is very convenient and all the staff were always lovely!

Hotel is clean and modern with hospitable staff. It has a bar and a restaurant on site. Both were very good with reasonable pricing. Now the area is a little seedy, not comfortable walking at night.

The only thing great about this hotel is the restaurant! It started with 2 calls to the telephone support, as I wanted to add 2 additional nights to my original booking. This could not be resolved and I ended up with 3 separate bookings for 3 nights. The 1st night we were in the King suite and the room was spacious but the couch was dirty and had really big stains on it. We ended up not sitting on it at all. It rained during the night and in the morning we woke up to a puddle of water on the window ledge/floor. We were then moved to a King room and were told that We can leave our suitcases in the room and they will be moved to new room for us and this would be ready by 1pm. We left after breakfast and came back at 2pm. The room was not ready and we were told to wait another 30min. 30min later and were told it would be ready in 15min. I went back to the reception at 3pm and the room was still not ready. At this point I lost my cool as we had been waiting for more than an hour with my wife being pregnant and my 2 year old daughter becoming moody as she was tired. She ended up taking an afternoon nap on the bench in the restaurant. We ended up getting the key to our room at 3:30pm. I was not happy! What really made me angry was one of the guys at reception always referring to his colleague and he then continued to just stand there and not do anything. The Service was atrocious!! To top it all off you couldnt have a late lie in as drilling would start at 8am and carry on well into the afternoon. We ended up spending as little time as possible in the hotel.

Nice central location for hotel. Hotel has 2 restaurants on their ground floor. Rooms have good air conditioning, refrigerator, coffee and tea, safe, TV, and a phone. No car park part of hotel, but they give a 20% code for PRE-BOOKING at Q-Park Piccadilly.

We were there to use the business side of things and didn't stay. The meeting rooms were top notch though. Staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. Location being right next to Puccadilly Station and Piccadilly Gardens was excellent too. This is the second experience of a Double Tree Hotel and I can't fault them

  • 2/5 Pendleton L. 7 months ago on Google
Poor standard rooms very dated. Junior suite is basically a old sofa bed and that’s it. Noise from the tram can be trouble some. Service exceptional and great location.

  • 5/5 Jonathan C. 7 months ago on Google
Excellent hotel, well located and at a good price point. The staff were very helpful and keen to ensure guests had a pleasant stay. The room had everything you need and was fresh and clean, whilst other facilities such as the bar and waiting areas are top notch. Breakfast was really good too. Location wise you're very near Piccadilly, with plenty of bars, eating options and shopping nearby. Highly recommended.

Bit disappointed with the hotel this stay. As a Gold member I should be offered a room upgrade but wasn't. I was out all day and only got to my room at midnight only to find that the room was cold and the heating panel didn't work. I called for help and the night porter ended up bringing an old radiator as he couldn't fix it. Thankfully the radiator was pretty good. In the morning I found the shower head would not stay at the correct angle but flopped down so you had to stand really close to the wall to get under the shower head. Also the shower door doesn't close properly so some water leaked on the floor each time you showered. Reported all this to reception in the morning and they told me this was a refurbished room so I had actually been upgraded already! I said if they could not fix these things that they should move me to a better room. Unfortunately these were all on higher floors (I was on the 4th) and as only one lift out of three was working, I was walking up and down the stairs the whole time I stayed as the queues for the lift were long and it was very slow. Anyway, the fixed the issues but the AC still wasn't very warm so I continued to use the radiator they left. On the plus side, breakfast was good and I liked the free drink voucher they gave me (although I would have appreciated another for the inconvenience). The hotel is very close to my office and the station which is why we use it but I don't think I'll be staying again.

Fantastic hotel and wonderful staff. The staff really made us feel welcome. The bed was very comfortable..the shower pressure was great..hotel is clean. The location is perfect in Manchester. Great transport links, restaurants and cafes and nightlife all within walking distance. Reasonably priced too. LGBT+ friendly.

First and foremost, the staff was wonderful. The front desk was accommodating, friendly, professional and very proud of their city :) The lobby has a great atmosphere, with great drinks at the bar! With that being said, the rooms, elevator AND hallways need to be updated. The hallways have carpet which looked filthy and a drag for luggage. The elevator was so slow, that on the way down we took the stairs every time. I would return for the mere fact that the staff was impressionable.

Absolutely lovely hotel, spacious room, friendly staff, bright, clean, airy. The most comfiest bed ever! Good tea/coffee selection. Spacious bathroom. Right across the street from piccadilly Station. Short walk from all the shops. Highly recommended, would stay again.

Fantastic hotel, great location near Piccadilly train station and very close to the Gay village. Friendly helpful staff, and a delicious breakfast. Shame there was an issue with the lifts - only one working at the moment. For the size of hotel this is rather ridiculous, but hopefully the other lifts will be back in operation soon.

Not so great experience for such an expensive night. There was mould in the shower area, my sink wasn’t draining as the used water just collected in the sink and I had to ask for a dental kit at the reception. I would expect this from a 1 or 2 star hotel not even a 3 star one. Was also disappointed to get charged an early checkin fee that I didn’t even know about until my checkout the next morning but thankfully this was knocked off because I laid a complaint about the room. I have been to better with even less price. I would assume that after paying over a £110 for a room per night, the least I would have gotten is a good experience. Overall, the staff were very polite and lovely. Breakfast was really nice though and the staff at the restaurant was really pleasant.

  • 2/5 Li Mi N. 4 months ago on Google
Number of issues, disappointing stay. 1. Base of the sink tap was leaking. 2. Shower head was leaking with half the water going in different directions at the base. 3. Shower gel had black mold inside and smelled off. Reported it to the reception on the morning of day 2 and was told it will be fixed by the evening. None was. All same issues by the evening. Luckily it’s only a 2 night stay and I’m moving out tomorrow morning. Also, yes, out of 3 lifts only one operational, so it was a lot of walking up and down the stairs. Thankfully, I was on 3rd floor, so not too bad. Avoid room 334 or this hotel altogether. Holiday Inn across the road I stayed in last year was much better. Colleagues stayed at Kimpton and were also really happy. This is not a Hilton 4 star experience, more like a 2 star hotel type. Carpets in the room were not very clean and there was some dust floating around the bathroom tiles on day 1. I asked for slippers as I didn’t want to walk in my socks over them floors. Also, tried calling their “carelane”, but no one seemed to care to pick up.. Tried twice and gave up.

Stayed twice at this hotel now. the hotel and their staff are just superb!!! the rooms may look a little bland but the beds are super comfortable. Great breakfast and worth staying to enjoy, plenty of choice. The staff are great, real people with sense of humour, very welcoming and genuine.

The best location to stay in when visiting Manchester! 2 mins walk from train/tram stations. Good atmosphere. Bar and restaurant on site Totally spotless, lovely food and genuinely nice staff :) All round an excellent stay!

My company use this place for the annual staff conference. I don't live too far away so I don't stay over. Having stayed in hotels accross Europe, if I wanted a few days in Manchester, I'd want to stay here. I like the facilities they provide and the general feel of the place. Recommended.

Very friendly staff and great room, the food at the restaurant was lovely too. Check in was good although there were lots of people queueing behind me to check in. Definitely worth coming back here.

Just called in for a light snack and a pint. Was not disappointed. The pulled beef loaded fries and the halumi fries were delicious and full of flavour. The pint of becks crisp and fresh. 5 stars 🌟

  • 5/5 Lilla 2 years ago on Google
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed our room here. There's nothing extravagant here, but the standard room was sizeable enough, contained everything you'd need and in excellent condition and quality. The hotel bar didn't disappoint either.

  • 4/5 Joanne O. 2 years ago on Google
Mixed experience due to a mishap with someone charging food/drink to my room - somehow! - and the staff thought noisily pushing a bill under my door in the middle of the night wouldn't be a problem? But the rest of the stay was good; nice breakfast and comfortable, spacious room that was lovely to stay in and had everything you'd expect.

  • 5/5 Joanne M. 2 years ago on Google
Stayed here for 1 night between Christmas and New Year. On check-in we were greeted with freshly made cookies and checked in quickly and efficiently. Our rooms were clean and tidy. The bar area for drinks was well stocked and staff attentive. The buffet breakfast was lovely. Lots to choose from and were full for our journey home. The 🍒 on the cake for me would have been if there were a spa area. But overall enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary, so glad we picked this hotel as it was lovely! The room was very comfortable and spacious, the staff were very friendly and held onto our bags for us before and after checking in and out. We even got some free cookies. It’s in a great location too, would highly recommend staying here

  • 5/5 Bethany S. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely worth the money, the staff were welcoming and very helpful. The hotel itself was to a very high standard with a good check in area and the rooms were to a high standard. Only bad thing was that the hair dryer didn't work in the room we stayed in but we had brought our own so it didn't bother us.

  • 5/5 Amanda D. 2 years ago on Google
Clean, comfortable rooms. Fantastic staff who all go the extra mile to ensure our stay was perfect and nothing was too much trouble for them. Also I would like to give a special mention to the young security guy who was on duty Friday and Saturday night, I can't remember his name but would like to say he was an absolute pleasure to chat to and always was helpful and respectful to me as I am on crutches after surgery, and I would like to wish him all the best for his future. Thank you for a lovely stay and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Well appointed hotel in Manchester that was undergoing some maintenance outside at the time of my visit in March 2022. Generally a satisfactory stay although the hotel was a little warm and the air conditioning in the room didn't seem very effective. Staff were generally friendly and helpful and I didn't encounter any problems during my stay. The bar had an impressive selection of local beers and we enjoyed a complimentary drink every night for being Hilton Honours members. Fridge in the room was a nice touch although I probably wouldn't pay for a superior room again.

  • 3/5 Adam Ahmed V. 2 years ago on Google
Hotel is conveniently located next to the train station (walking distance). I stayed for 1 night. Customer service was okay, nothing special about it. The room carpet appeared it needed a deep clean or replacing it, so losing a start for that. Losing a star for the shower issue. After having a shower and exiting the shower there was water on the floor, evidently the shower door wasn't closing proper. Overall would I stay here again? - Not for the price I paid.

Location was perfect, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and had a good choice. The restaurant in the evening was very nice and also the hotel bar. ( manchester craft ale) VERY NICE. A special thank you to Sam and Thomas on reception. Thank you again too all at the hotel and I hope too see you again soon.

I stayed 1 night at the Hilton Double Tree in Manchester Piccadilly while travelling for business. The hotel is in a very central location close to the train station, tram lines and bus station. It is also well situated for exploring Manchester on foot. The standard rooms are a very generous size with a large desk and various connections ideal for business travel. As a woman travelling alone I appreciate the security features such as double locking doors and digital keys. I need to give special recognition to Sam who was part of the reception team during my stay. He went above and beyond to help me out with a few things and made me smile. I'd highly recommend the Hilton Double Tree Manchester Piccadilly

Great location, all staff really friendly and helpful. Had to wait a while to check in but we were early so staff levels were low. We had breakfast which was good. Decent ingredients, tasty food, lots of options. Our room was fantastic. Would stay again.

We stay at Hilton whenever we are having a weekend away. It is not often we can praise Hilton, but this hotel in Manchester was excellent. From Sam on the reception desk who gave us a very professional welcome, to the large comfortable bed, to the superb breakfast, we have to give this Hilton 5 stars. Staff are super professional and friendly and the room was very clean with a great bathroom. We will be staying again. Happily recommend

Excellent service received, though the hotel is a bit dated and a refurb is undergoing. If you love music across the road at night, then look no further. I, however, found that a little disturbing and changed to another room across the corridor. Overall a happy experience at an excellent location in town.

Just a regular hotel room, so bells and whistles but clean, comfy bed, clean bathroom. Nice food, lovely breakfast selections. Cocktails nice, but why do these places only have a basic list? Ask for anything off the list, it's can do it, but not allowed, hotel policy. At £10.25, a Cocktail. Over £17.00 a salad, similar for a dish of pasta. Big prices, but it's Manchester.

We had a great experience at this hotel. With only a 2 minute walk from Picadilly train station and a short walk to the shops and arenas, it was a perfect place to stay for us. The rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable and the staff were faultless and so lovely to my Daughter, giving her an extra cookie and bottle of water to take away with us. Would definitely return.

  • 4/5 Sam J. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed on business. Staff were excellent. Great location. The reason for 4 stars is that whilst the rooms were well set up and very clean I did find the mattress in my room very hard. This is obviously a personal opinion but it detracted from my overall comfort. The second reason was that for much of my 2 night stay, 2 of the 3 lifts were out of service leading to many minutes waiting at peak times. Whilst the stairs were an option (to and from the 4th floor?) this was not ideal. Other than these minor issues, it was a lovely place to stay.

  • 5/5 David S. 1 year ago on Google
Wonderful staff, great accommodation and a place where you feel valued as a customer. Highly recommend the dinner and breakfast service as there is a great range of high quality food. One thing I always rate a hotel by is its breakfast buffet bacon - the Hilton’s is pure premium!

  • 3/5 Curious G. 1 year ago on Google
Great location. The bar and breakfast is lovely, food decent too. Gym is ideal, nothing too fancy but has what you need for a quick session. Good assortment of dumbbells and plenty of cardio equipment. Hotel room itself was okay, nice and spacious. Even shampoo AND conditioner provided. Water pressure not great though in the shower and overall the worst part is that the noise absolutely travels the hotel. I don’t think it’s people being particularly noisy it’s just the room doors are so heavy the slamming travels. Nice hotel, not a nice nights sleep. Great location though, and friendly staff. The free cookie was vile though, but a nice gesture.

I stayed here twice now. The rooms are old (carpet stained, the shower room does not close) and needs a renovation but it is definitely clean. The room was sound and light proof from the outside noise and lights. The receptionist Hasti was very friendly and professional. I just loved the lobby with the nice lights and the Christmas tree. The mattress is excellent. Last time we had breakfast, which was average (although better than some other hotel chains).

Good location, near Piccadilly Station, and pretty nice hotel for the price. Stayed 2 nights, room was okay, but hopefully will be refreshed and updated soon, shower door was unfortunately leaking as door couldn’t shut tight, but it wasn’t really a big issue. Met a fire alarm on the day of check-out at 10am, but thankfully was resolved pretty quickly (alarm was alittle annoying, but hey, its a fire alarm so). Overall, pretty good hotel, and will stay again.

Very trendy hotel in the city centre of Manchester. Very well situated to explore the city on foot. The rooms are very nice but my special mention goes to the breakfast and especially the bar. Enrico at the bar was simply amazing and his Manchester Bee cocktail was delicious! Thank you for an amazing stay :)

I recommend this hotel for its excellent location due to its proximity to the train station and the markets. Its location is in a quiet place. The rooms are cosy and warm and the ventilation is good. The rooms are clean but daily cleaning is not done unless requested for. Service at the restaurant leaves scope for improvement. This hotel is recommended for a busy traveller.
