I really liked this hotel. However stars dropped for a couple of reasons. I do believe that these are very easily amendable and that had there been a little control over the facilities we would be rating 5*s. The spa facility is ridiculously busy, considering that I called from my room and booked a slot to use at 7-8, the final hour of the day (which isn’t ideal as it is) and when we went down there the pool was swarmed with people, all over, the same middle aged men who were all too comfortable in the jacuzzi and refused to get out, and the same for the steam room and sauna. I was really disappointed by this because there should really be a limit on how many people should be allowed in there and especially a limit on time spent at once. The only facility that was left quiet to use is the gym and who wants to use the gym on a spa getaway? No issues with the receptionist there who didn’t have any control over the individuals there so can’t blame that, can only recommend a better policy for future usage. My final complaint is that upon checking out, the man at the desk was quite arrogant and rude as he wrongly stated that I needed to pay for my stay and then proceeded to correct me for saying I’d already paid. This sort of behaviour is unacceptable from reception staff and quite possibly a whole experience burner, whereas the staff who checked me in were a delight. Unfortunately I won’t want to stay here again, the hotel is excellent but the facilities are now overused and its natural to be like this since the reputation is good. But I strongly advise a better solution for spa facilities usage and definitely would recommend longer opening times for the spa.

Worth visiting the spa there but other than that very disappointed. The Collection Premium Twin Room was tired with nets as curtains offering no privacy so we had to upgrade to a half decent room paying a lot more money for our stay. Considering we paid a lot of money we thought we may have been treated with a bit more respect and consideration but since my friend got food poisoning on the first night from the hotel’s room service all we have heard is information that has been twisted to benefit themselves. We ended up leaving losing a night because my friend just didn’t feel well and wanted to go home.. during our stay we couldn’t do anything for our whole stay other than visit the spa for a few hours just to get out the room.

It’s me and my partners first time staying here and it was perfect in every way possible! The bedroom was immaculate and couldn’t have asked for any better. The receptionist was very polite and welcoming! She understood all our needs and was more than happy to help with any requests. The security guard was also friendly and welcoming and so was the man who took our luggage. As we ordered drinks at the bar both the bartender and manager gave us some recommendations for drinks and they were fantastic! Both chatty, friendly and welcoming too! Jessica who I spoke to on the phone for the booking was absolutely lovely and very helpful! We couldn’t have asked for any better and will definitely be returning in the future, so many many thanks from the both of us !!

Stayed here twice recently. Very impressive. Staff are very nice and the amenities are nice, including the pool, hot tub etc. A bonus was meeting some pro boxers (Khan and Crawford) yesterday. Very convenient location. If you're hungry, try the nachos bar snack in Peter Street Kitchen. Very nice. Also - parking - I HIGHLY recommend Q Park on First Street. A 5/6 minute walk and can be purchased for £11 a day.

Me and my husband stayed here the day before our wedding and the day of the wedding. The room was stunning and the luxury was all around us. From the warm welcome to the sad goodbye, this hotel felt more like being part of a family if only for two nights. We still frequently visit for afternoon tea or a camomile tea and a massage at the stunning spa.

Had a pleasant time at the Edwardian last Friday. The SPA facilities were very nice, the staff were extremely friendly. The room was as good as a 4* hotel, nothing special. The iron board was broken and the hair fan heated up extremely quickly and had a bad smell after. Otherwise - a good hotel with an excellent location.

The rooms are nice and spacious, with both a shower and a bathtub. The staff is friendly and professional. The breakfast includes croissants, strawberry jam, yogurt, juice, fresh fruit, and cheese, as well as traditional egg, sausages, and bacon. If you stay several conservative days, I would like to see more variation. You don't need to serve the same fruit, cheese, or salami daily; how about offering another kind of cheese or fruit? The is also a charming SPA area and a gym. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to use the SPA or pool.

Great location, and facilities, however I thought the hospitality/ service could be more outstanding, considering the price of the stay. During check-in and check-out, nobody really offered or insisted to take our baggage for us (we were 2 people with 5 baggages, in Asia, people would just rush to help sort us out). When we were checking out, it was the two of us trying to wheel our bags out on the big trolley and struggling a bit, but there was couple of staff at the concierge just chatting and not offering to help nor open the doors for us. In the room, I called to ask for cutlery to be sent to the room - I had to call Room Service, Reception and another line before I was finally able to get connected to the kitchen. The lady on the line told me it would cost £5 to get a fork sent to the room, which is shocking. I've stayed at everything from the Four Seasons to the Premier Inn, and neither of these would charge to have cutlery brought to the room. There was also a few occasions after the check in where we needed our key cards updated, somehow that always take forever. I remember the check in took longer than I had patience for after a long haul flight. There was also one elevator that just wouldn't register the key card for 2 days of our stay. Key card tech maybe something to look at. Apart from these annoyances, I really loved the amenities, specially the gym/ pool/ spa. It was the only amenity that made this stay outstanding for me.

Stayed for 4 days for a birthday treat. The hotel was fantastic from start to finish. The rooms, and all public areas were spotless. The spa and gym were one of the best ive used. We loved the breakfast each morning and also had drinks in both of the bars. I would highly recommend and would stay again!

This was just the ideal choice of hotels to visit Manchester City centre. The decor was beautiful, the restaurant/bar was lovely with a good selection of drinks. The room was also lovely with some nice touches to show they think of their guests. The gym and sauna/pool was of very good standard, I loved it here. Honorable mentions to Danny at the desk and Salim in the restaurant at breakfast but all the staff were just lovely. Would love to come back here again.

I stayed here because I was attending Manchester Central as an exhibitor, and it is extremely convenient. The overall experience was very good, with friendly staff and a very nice environment. The room was spacious and comfortable.

Amazing hotel, great facilities/amenities and fabulous staff. I arrived really early for a work event - not my usual location. This meant I had a number of things to carry including a suitcase. I asked if there was a chance I could check in early or leave my suitcase there till official check in. This would save me having to take it into the office. The staff were really accommodating and allowed me to check in early. This made such a difference. The room itself was really nice and had a great layout. The breakfast was amazing too - buffet style or a La carte and again really friendly staff. On checkout I was asked how my stay was and also if I wanted to leave my suitcase till later in the day. 👈🏽 this gesture again has such an impact - they really put the customer first. Definitely would stay here again.

I came here back in February for my valentines weekend. And I have nothing to say but Wow. Incredible staff (unfortunately I cannot remember the names of the two that truly made our staff incredible) and service, lovely facilities and the restaurant in the hotel served some beautiful food. It was so central to everything! Honestly wish we had stayed longer and this will definitely be the place we will stay next time in Manchester.

The staff at the hotel was incredible everyone was friendly and accommodating. The online checkin process was a great feature that aided in our ability for an early checkin. Overall the rooms were clean, but the bed was not at all comfortable for a 5 star hotel. There was also an alarm of some sort that went off about 3 times during our first 24 hours at the hotel. Both bar and restaurant were great and all food we had from the hotel was delicious.

The positives for me. On arrival I was treated well by Victoria. She was very helpful sorting out my accommodation & assisting me Staff where pleasant & hard working. The room was very comfortable but not of 5 star standard. The hairdryer was very difficult to find, Unusually for a five star hotel there is a quiet restaurant which you didn't have. The music was far too loud, & several people asked for it to be reduced. It wasn't. On a serious note, I suggest that the volume that it was played at is checked, as people will definitely suffer with hearing loss. Tea was served at function with a tea bag in the cup. Not 5 star. When I asked for a tray at breakfast, I was told because of health & safety that they could not be given to guests. Very strange, because I could walk into Asda & one is supplied. All dishes at breakfast were warm, & I needed to ask 3 people for a cold dish for my fruit. These are problems that can ,& must be solved if you wish to attain consistently a high standard to be able to charge for five star hotel. One final thing. An alarm went off that must have woken the entire hotel at 5.45am I have been honest in the hope that you will improve to help future guests. The problems are a very easy fix, even if this means employing extra staff. Despite Everton I did enjoy my stay.

Great hotel, the interior and staff are amazing! Second time staying here and my experience has improved, Govon the waiter in dining area was so kind, polite and patient! He definitely is an asset this hotel. Spa also so peaceful and clean, it gives luxury but rooms are a let down. Only improvement I would recommend is the rooms, higher beds, more pillows and Netflix. Other than that I will stay again

Really nice top-end hotel in the middle of Manchester. Lovely spa in the basement. Breakfasts were lovely with a really good buffet plus menu items to order. Nice lounge bar too. Perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in Manchester.

This hotel is well located close to the center of Manchester. The main façade is beautiful but is , however, entirely juxtaposed by the building the rooms are situated in. The rooms and corridors are old and in need of a refurbishment. Apart from this, the service is good and breakfast is nice.

Overall we had a fantastic experience at the Edwardian Manchester hotel. Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and upgraded our hotel room to the top floor, which had a great view of Manchester. The room was a good size and included hair dryer, ironing board with iron, and a safe. The gym & spa in particular was a very relaxing way to spend a few hours however my favourite part had to be Peter Street Kitchen which had a wide variety of breakfast options. The location was perfect, everything being on our doorstep within a ten minute walk. Would definitely recommend.

Really nice hotel. Stayed for business. Staff really friendly and the location was great. Rooms were big and great for working in. The lack of view was a bit disappointing, it was inner facing and the outside area was soulless (maybe put some plants there?) and was covered with a roof so there wasn’t any fresh air. Other aspects of the room were great however so overall a positive experience.

Beautiful hotel, really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were lovely and the spa was an outstanding space. Breakfast was on the pricier side but everything delicious and wide range to choose from. We noted a slight issue with the drainage in our shower but this was rectified within the time it took for us to go out for dinner.

Hotel is lovely, smells great, always warm. Our room on the 14th floor was perfect with a great view. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The spa was really nice and relaxing. Good central location. The only issue was the noise from the street below.

Overall the stay was ok. Really like the gym and spa area, however the staff were quite rude when I asked for some slippers to wear in the spa area. I was told that I should use the ones that are from the room (there were none, I’d looked prior to going down) they had an entire cupboard behind them at reception full of the slippers, so it seemed excessive and rude of the receptionist to continue by telling me that I should ask at reception if something is missing from my room! When attending my a spa for relaxation it was very unpleasant to be met with attitude from staff. I later asked at reception for slippers to be left in my room to avoid this situation happening again, no slippers were left. I asked for a plate and some cutlery on the first evening as I had ordered in. I was told it would be a 15 minute wait, I decided to go downstairs otherwise my food would have been cold. The bed wasn’t comfortable, too soft and pillows. You’re literally sinking into the bed, there is no firmness or support. I also called about the fridge not working twice and no one attended my room. I did speak to the reception staff about the service to which the guy apologised and just replied several times “I don’t know what else to say”. Not the response or level or service I’d expect from an establishment that claims to be 5 stars.

Stayed here as my work booked it for a conference I was attending in Manchester. The room was spacious and had everything I needed (including a Nespresso machine). I used the spa facilities after my work meeting and it was so great and relaxing. Location wise it is very central and close to nice restaurants. Their breakfast was good too, a lot of variety. The only thing I wasn’t sure was that they charged my credit card for a deposit (very small fee) but I have never got that back.

Great hotel 2nd time staying here! Room service was quick and still hot and cold respectively! Clean rooms and large only down was my room was right next to the lift basically shared the same hallway as it so could hear it all the time. Also having a virtual concierge was really helpful with ordering food

Great location, beautiful building. However the rooms amenities are basic, breakfast is seriously over priced and the reception staff have no interest in guest satisfaction. This is not a 5 star hotel

Stayed here whilst visiting our daughter at university. Really nice rooms, everything clean and fresh. The staff were very attentive and made sure you were pleased with your stay. Had cocktails in the hotel bar, quite busy with a nice vibe. Cocktails were lovely , £40 for 3 so not the cheapest option but we enjoyed them before heading across the road to another bar.

Me and my family had 3 suites on the fifth floor and they were lovely and spacious everything you need in a room. I have rated 4 stars as the music at night was very loud from Christmas party and the bass was extreme it does stop at 12.30am but with two kids waking early not ideal. I just want to give a massive thank you to Gary the concierge who was very attentive and helped with all our needs. He booked our swimming for the children (as there is certain times children are allowed in the pool) managed to sort the children’s breakfast out (when reception told us they weren’t having any breakfast!) and just a nice friendly attentive manner which is very much appreciated. Thank you so much Gary :) Would certainly recommend but maybe not during party season if you’re not part of the party! X

Stayed for just a night. Wish I could have stayed longer! I had a long day and arrived to very helpful and enthusiastic team in concierge. Mike was extremely helpful and answered all my questions satisfactorily. The pool is lovely and managed well to avoid overcrowding. The gym is one the best I have seen in a hotel with ability to have some privacy if you want with separate rooms for core work and weight training as well as machine work. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it! It’s right next to everything. So even though it was raining I was a short walk from great places to eat and fun activities.

Had the most amazing stay possible! Mine and my partners first time visiting and we couldn't have been happier. We were mainly seen by the staff member Alicia who went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible by accommodating special requests, offering recommendations and being so friendly and pleasant! The room was perfect, everything sanitized and placed in plastic wrapping. Lovely and spacious with a very comfortable bed. The shower and bathroom facilities were great. The breakfast was delicious and all the staff were very friendly and happy to help in anyway. Location is perfect as it is right in the centre so everything is walking distance. Couldn't recommend enough and we are especially grateful to Alicia for making our stay that much more enjoyable and welcoming!

My friend and I stayed the night here recently and we were blown away by the hotel! The spa was dreamy and the staff were so warm and welcoming, specifically Barnaby and Rachael - they brought a very kind presence to our stay. Could not recommend it enough! Seamless, luxurious and very relaxing.

I am not a particularly experienced hotel user but based on my limited experience it was average. Service was great, food was what I expect from a hotel with better choice (and coffee) to be had locally. The room was large and everything was immaculate but the lost star is for the toilet which was a tad decrepit and looked like it needed replacing and the television didn't have many English speaking channels. I'd happily stay there again although I wasn't paying, my personal choice is for something more modern.

  • 5/5 Charles V. 1 year ago on Google
This is the top hotel in Manchester and I wasn't disappointed. Highlights include the swimming pool and spa, very modern and ambient lighting as you swim or steam or sauna. I really liked how big my room was. I'm a big guy and bed is massive too. I won't even go on about the spectacular view of the city from my 12th floor room I'll end by saying I had a very minor admin issue at the hotel and Barnaby phoned me and when I returned to my room he brought a very tasty platter, see image attached. Impressive attention to detail

Room was big and spacious. Nothing really wrong with the room, the only 1 thing I would say, check your bulbs as one of the lights and it was a feature light was not working. Breakfast was lovely. The indoor pool was also nice, but can get busy.

You left me with no option but leaving a five star review just a day after staying here. Staff are extremely helpful and polite, I felt so welcomed and looked after; environment is clean, facilities are advanced. The restaurant is clean and food is delicious! Thank you so much everyone for helping us having such a positive experience ❤️

I have stayed in numerous hotels in Manchester however this is has got to be the best one I have stayed at so far! I recently stayed here for my friends birthday, the Guest Relations Manager was super accommodating and helped me setup my room for my friends birthday. She even kindly left a birthday card and small cake for my friend, thank you Viktorija. Exceptional 5 star service from all staff right from checking in right up until checking out and leaving the hotel. This was definitely a 5 star experience for myself and the welcome received from all staff was amazing. We had a small issue where our heating in the room was not working however the hotel accommodated promptly with a portable heater. Spa was also so beautiful and the overall look of the hotel is so aesthetically pleasing! 100% recommend this hotel, I don’t think I will book anywhere else now, it’s going to be my go to 5 star hotel. Can’t wait to be back! Thank you to all staff at The Edwardian this hotel is beautiful!!!!

Overall; Nice and quiet hotel. Staff are friendly and the food is decent. The bar has a low ceiling making it very noisy when crowded. Also there are no stairs beyond 2nd floor which was really annoying. The library was closed when we visited and apart from 2 chairs by the elevator there's no lobby but to be fair the great location makes up for the need of any lobby. Lovely staff.. really lovely! From reception, gym to the late night bartenders and snack ladies!

I stopped here last year for my wedding night but me and my wife were too tired and busy the following day to take the hotel in. We decided to stop here again for our 1st wedding anniversary and really had chance to take the whole experience this time. It’s a great stay, with every amenity you could possibly want (breakfast is pretty stellar) with the highlight being the pool/gym/spa. Rooms were spotless and ours had a spectacular view of Manchester City centre.

Wish there were 6 stars at least for the staff, who were excellent from reception onwards. Our room was modern, scrupulously clean and well appointed. The Library bar served an excellent Cosmopolitan and ice cold beer. The spa looked great too (we didn't get to use it). We will definitely book The Edwardian whenever we stay in Manchester.

The staff are so professional and friendly. The spa and gym areas are amazing and are the perfect place to unwind after a long day. I ordered room service during my stay and was easily one of the best meals I've had in a hotel in years. Rooms are also really nice. Would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Manchester!

A beautiful hotel with absolutely lovely staff. The room was perfect and the view was incredible. Wasn't the easiest to get to with a car but that's not a huge issue. My one niggle is that our check in was at 3, we arrived about 3.30 and were then told we had to wait an hour for our room to be ready with no explanation. It was worth the wait though. Absolutely spotless room with a very comfy bed and lots of space.

I have stayed here with my friend for one night, service was excellent. We were dining in the restaurant and food was absolutely marvellous. One of the waiter Francesco - was going extra mile to make our dining to be at high class. Over all - I would definitely come back and recommend this hotel to anyone. Just shame I haven’t manage to use spa facility maybe next time. Thank you all staff for being very professional and make our stay.

My husband and I stayed here on (19/02/2023) to celebrate his birthday. The staff could not have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spotless and very spacious. The breakfast was excellent too. Would highly recommend.

The best thing about this hotel was the toilets. One of the things I need as a matter of high priority is a top class throne to spend quality time on and utilise when nature calls…and when I entered this establishment I was shown straight to the most comfortable and efficient loo that I’ve ever experienced… This life-changing experience was enhanced by the fact that it was the very first thing I did when I arrived - I loved it so much that I left my wife waiting for hours in the lobby as I changed my life forever. I would book a holiday for this facility alone if I had the chance - amazing and highly recommended!

Had a one night stay here, great location in the centre of Manchester. Lovely spa area, with pool, sauna, steam, hot tub and well equipped modern gym. Rooms were very clean, good size, could just do with a coffee machine. Breakfast in the morning was great and the staff there were excellent and very attentive. Higly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Can't comment on rooms as I didn't stay. Service was fabulous by Giovanni. Polite, attentive, and courteous. Very smartly dressed, too. Lovely champagne and nibbles. Will return to stay sometime and try the cocktails that Giovanni tried to tempt us with, which all look like they are worth trying!

This was my first time staying at a Radisson chain, and i haven’t looked back since. It definitely changed my perspective on the brand and it’s made me want to look for a radisson in any city I visit. Rooms were very spacious, great value and fair rates, breakfast was also fantastic. At the time of my stay in 2018, there were renovations going on but it didn’t affect our stay at all. Location was unbeatable. 5/5 experience and one of my favorite hotels in the UK

Amazing one night away. Excellent customer service from the front desk. Good size rooms, clean and comfy beds, very nice spa. Definitely recommend and can't wait to stay again!

We have just left the hotel 🏨 & the first thing I had to do was to leave a review. Danny at the front desk was amazing. He gave my partner a complimentary late check out because it was her birthday. What a gentlemen. Emma who arranged our stay over the phone was so brilliant at her job. Lady at the check out was so polite and full of smiles. The woman who gave my partner a 1 hour massage was so amazing at her job and my partner can't stop talking about how good kirsty/Kristy is at massaging. Now dinner was beautiful...lost for words. It was a pre set Japanese course meal. Beautiful food. The amazing man who served us the wine was an expert in his field. He is from Italy and knew everything about every wine. His name was Pasquale. He inspired us to visit Italy and because of him we bought 2 bottles of wine which were excellent and made our night. Our server katarina & Hara from Greece were so welcoming and friendly and loved being served by them. Honestly my partner was so upset to leave. We'll visit again next month!

VERY disappointed, paid a LOT of money for one of the penthouse suites! No mini bar in any of the three fridges just water. Internet incredible slow. No sanitary bags in the bathroom, I had to ring down twice just to ask for some..and they then brought me 20 bin bags....how can something so basic but personal be such a big issue for a 5* hotel. We travel a lot and have never had so many issues !?!?! I feel the room was a little shabby also..needs a bit of tlc in places. Not what I expected for a supposedly 5* Luxury hotel. Will not stay here again.
