The location is brilliant as you are not too far from either train station and there are bus stops right outside. Outside doors are locked at all times for safety. All the staff are very friendly, Jacob who checked us in was very helpful and we managed to check in early which was a bonus!

I stayed here with my friend for my birthday weekend. We moved from the arena hotel cause it had bad reviews and not the new design rooms. It was lovely. We had a superoom. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm. The only issue was the loud people outside the hotel playing loud music at 1am. My friend called the police and they were moved on. Security on the door and the door locks at 9pm so it's very safe. I had an issue with the WiFi code but the kind guy on reception sorted it out for me. The remote control was broken but we got given a replacement. We would stay here again.

Good price, easy check in and check out. It's a bit confusing trying to get into the hotel before you've checked in but if you manage to overcome that, it's plain sailing. Choices at the bar were pretty good and prices are similar to the bars around. I would come definitely come back if the prices stay the same in future

Lovely room. Very clean. Great helpful staff. Convenient location close to shops, Arndale Centre, Piccadilly railway station and Shudehill Bus station. Recommend.

The dorms are really small but they are very clean and well Maintained. The bathrooms and areas are frequently cleaned. The location is 10/10. Right outside the Piccadilly station. All the tourist attractions are within walking distance. Supportive staff.

The staff were very friendly. Always helpful. From bar service very late at night / early morning to a decent breakfast the following day. Rooms are basic. No shelf in the shower for your stuff! But was clean and the bed comfortable. Not bad for £45

2 stars only due to service provided by staff at reception and location. The rooms (stayed in 412) are what you would expect from a travelodge. cheap, clean and for the location. ALTHOUGH, seemed every morning I showered that my room included a swimming pool due to the shower overflowing onto the floor as the draining system seems to be non existent. Flush system on toilet worked only if pressed multiple times.

Quite disappointed, I mean it was a bed in a room, so what more should you ask for, but the ventilation system was absolutely terrible, if you showered in the morning there would still be water running down the mirror by the night, it made everything smell damp and the room super humid and with no air-conditioning it was terrible trying to sleep. When raised to reception they simply shrugged and said they know it's bad.

We were planning on staying at Premier Inn but their website was down when we tried to book so decided on the Travelodge super room as it was my birthday night out. The receptionist was fabulous, she went through everything with us and was really friendly and attentive, we even got 2 keys which we could never get at Premier Inn. We found our room and I was really looking forward to the City view, sadly all we got was a wall, in fairness, we weren't told we'd be getting a view, I was just hoping. I had to make do with looking out of the window next to the lift as that looked straight out onto the centre. The room was small but that wasn't a problem for us. It had everything it needed, including an iron, ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. It was clean and compact, the only thing was the office chair, which was pretty grubby, thankfully I had no plans to use it. The extractor fan in the bathroom doesn't appear to turn off and the noise was a bit annoying, I slept with earplugs in though as I don't sleep well away from home. We had a drink in the bar and it was nice enough. The breakfast buffet was medeocre, I like fried eggs but they only have scrambled, I can't say anything particularly bad about it but Premier Inn definitely wins that round. All in all, it was good for the price but it wouldn't be my first choice next time.

Really nice place to stay. Clean and very reasonable price. Location was good as well with the market just across the road. We would definitely use this hotel again.

Clean and comfortable with no frills-no hairdryer or shower gel. Breakfast was fresh and substantial. I felt safe as a single, female traveller which is a big plus.

Location is just perfect close to trams and buses, shops and city's attractions. We were checked in an hour earlier of the check-in time and very greatful for that. Room is very basic, 3 beds and 2 chair. Bathroom compact but have everything you need: bath, shower, soap dispenser, towels. There was no hairdryer but we simply asked and got one from reception. So could be satisfied.... BUT ventilation system was absolutely terrible, if you showered there would be water running down the mirror all day, it made the room super humid and with no air-conditioning it was terrible to sleep. It was 29°C on the day we arrived so we got in the room feeling like inside of sauna and windows are not opening at all. There was only fan to help to get a bit of fresh air but sleep was a nightmare 🥵🥵🥵

Fantastic location at a great price, and even better staff. Charlotte was particularly awesome! This was our first visit from the United States, and she was very helpful. You can't beat the spot location wise. I do wish the rooms would have had AC and different pillows though. The room was very hot and the pillows uncomfortable.

I wonder if I was to visit again whether I would experience an argument from the staff over a misunderstanding about parking charges? Room was excellent throughout, most of the staff were great apart from two extremely rude and unfriendly people - one was the manger too. So, everything was great but two of the staff were ridiculous and seriously need training - or support to how to help difficult situations and not to place a grudge. Oh the Breakfast was great, when there was food available.

Excellent help from the night receptionist, Bernadette!! I was very late checking in due to a seriously delayed inbound flight!! Bernadette was exceedingly polite, calm and reassuring as I was concerned about being able to check in!! Bernadette is a wonderful advertisement for Travelodge hotel staff!! Thank you very much Bernadette, well done!!

Easy, friendly check in. Awesome central location and a straight 6 or so minute walk to piccadily Station. On free bus 2 route too from bus station. Basic, no frills room but clean and modern. Was great alternative to airport hotels.

This was the worst travelodge I've visted, out of many - the rest of which were all good. Firstly the bathrooms, even in the superrooms, are cramped. In my first room (507) the latch on the bathroom door was worn out, and didn't retract properly when I put the handle down - nearly trapping me in the bathroom! As you can imagine I asked for a different room after that. The windows are completely sealed, so i'm thankful it wasn't a sunny day when I visited. There's no AC so you have no way to manage heat except the cheap and nasty provided fans. In the first room the fan was not only cheap and nasty, but also completely worn out. However, even the less-worn one was far from quiet. Breakfast itself was fine, but there was no indication of where to get my details taken for breakfast - turns out it was back at reception, which had been left unstaffed when I went down. This made breakfast a confusing and awkward experience. There were other general maintenance issues - the duvet cover in the second room was worn out, there was some kind of sticky stain on the base of the desk chair in the second room, and the battery cover for the TV remote in the first room had a broken clip. In all it did not have the feel of a well-maintained hotel, and the "superrooms" didn't seem worth the premium at all - I'd sum up the superroom as the most expensive 2 kitkats I've ever purchased. I do want to stress that I saw no indiciation that any of the frontline staff members were doing any less than their absolute best, other than problems that could be put down to understaffing.

Absolutely disgusting would not stay here. Avoid. Please read all... Arrived at the Hotel to be confronted by security on the outside checking on a list that you have made a booking before entering the building. Red flags for quite an unsafe location. Checked in fine, room was very basic. Small double bed even though rooms where a good size. Cannot open any windows so room was hot and smelly. Stains on carpet - blood and brown stains. Our sink would not drain as it was blocked. Blocked by remnants of vomit!! Yes vomit. We complained, they offered a 20% discount voucher off a future stay. I can assure you we won't be staying here again! They said they cannot refund as that is not something they do! The area is so bad and overrun with gangs, drugs, thefts. Just avoid!!

Hotel itself was fine, rooms were clean. Location in the city is great, very central. The let down was the lack of staff. Checking in was a farce, paid for early check in “oh the rooms aren’t ready” then they were, then there was an issue with a toilet, so have another room. Later that night our room was then allocated to another person who happily let them selves in whilst we were getting ready to go out. Went to mention it to the front desk and was offered a free breakfast, that’s was fine. But the complete lack of staff was unreal. At breakfast no one there so just helped ourselves then the manager and front desk staff sat and had breakfast themselves. At check out long que of people at the desk, not a staff member in site. Wouldn’t stay again.

This is the worst Travelodge I have ever stayed in. My partner and I were left stranded in Manchester after our room smelled strongly of chemicals upon check in, the windows were open a little so we thought it had just been cleaned and went for a walk, we complained when we got back because the stench was so overpowering it caused me to develop a migraine and it set off my partners asthma. I am absolutely disgusted in how we were treated! We went down to discuss a room change as soon as we got back from our walk, spending less than 15 minutes in total in the room, trying to decide if it was really that bad. And it honestly was so repulsive I was almost sick and felt dizzy because of how overpowering it was and When we got to the desk we were told they were sold out of rooms and had none available and there were no other travelodges available within a 6mile radius, we asked if someone could go and smell the room and tell us that they honestly thought it was safe (it was so strong it smelled like men's urinals level of potent), and the manager went upstairs with a can of air freshener and sprayed so much that it masked it enough to not be as noticeable. And he asked two other staff members to smell the room after he had done this and they obviously couldn't smell it because he had sprayed the spray. His name was Tommy, and he was incredibly rude, offered no solution for us being stranded after booking months in advance. And we were forced to get a train back which left us a further £100 out of pocket on top of the £79.99 room I was told he would not refund. Never in my life have I felt so insulted and undermined as a customer. Spraying air freshener chemicals on top of other chemicals after I had said we were unwell from it was just so rude and insulting. We were in manchester for my partners bucket list band touring the UK and we were unable to go due to this situation and had to make a lengthy journey home. I want a refund. This is disgusting, there are other reviews about the smell and the staff on Google that we have seen since so this is clearly not the first incident.

Stayed here after an impromptu Sunday in Manchester, very clean, tidy, and central to Manchester. I think the room was £40, well worth it Would definitely stay here again

Absolutely no issue with the room or service but the gluten free breakfast was almost non existent. I asked and was told the bread was gluten free and when I said it wasn't, they said well it used to be. The only choice was corn flakes. I had to ask for fruit.

Great central hotel at a great price. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed was lovely, I slept like a log. I'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel is decent and very clean, my friends booked the hotel for a night out for us all and not gonna lie the beds are actually really comfy! The staff are ok, friendly and whatnot. The key cards however don't seem to work so well and the cars lock on the 4th floor is semi broken and doesn't work straight away, takes around 3-4 tries before the door to unlock but overall the building, the rooms and staff are very decent! Our stay was great!

Everything was fine with a bit more effort could be even better. We booked one family room some two months before and yet when we arrived we were given two separated rooms for the first night, than they moved our things without telling us before. I can understand the first one but not the second. Lets say too, nothing was missing.

Clean, ordered, & much better than I'd have expected a budget hotel in a big city center to be. The staff were friendly, helpful & very kind. Exceptional customer service! The breakfast was plentiful, & lots of choice. They even offered a vegetarian option to my delight! Definitely stop again.

We booked a super room as it looked very comfortable. The room was small but clean and tidy. The view out of the window however was rubbish. Being a super room that cost extra you would assume the view would be good but far from it. At one point my partner went to the bathroom for a number one and kept the door open. He turned around afterwards and saw someone looking at him through their window. The breakfast was lovely although why there was only scrambled eggs and not fried we found strange. The staff were very friendly and polite. Overall a nice stay but we won't book a super room again as apart from the blackout curtains there really wasn't much difference.

A very good stay. First time since I've been back to Manchester in nearly 3 years. I have often stayed at this travelodge and its always been good. But this time tho the staff were so friendly and helpful. A big shout out to Lynn again she was very helpful and friendly. Thank you for a good stay. See again soon.

We stayed here as we went to the boxing. It's a no fills hotel but what do you expect for the price. We stayed in the super rooms on the top floor. No different to the other rooms to be honest apart from it's quiet as no one is above you. The room was clean and tidy.

Pleasant stay! The issues we had was that the front door didn't work on arrival and even though it said to use the intercom, it was a long time before our intercom was answered and the second time, it wasn't answered at all. To make matters worse, it stated on the door that there was a number to call in case you couldn't in but again, this wasn't answered. The bathroom is the main reason for my rating. Due to the new idea of the Travelodge replacing in baths ( in my room at least ), it has been replaced with a platform type thing - the shower could easily flood the rest of the bathroom which wasn't good and there wasn't a floor mat provided. The good points are, the location is brilliant and it's beyond central as everything is on your doorstep!

  • 4/5 P R. 2 years ago on Google
The rooms are old but the location is excellent. You can get affordable prices during off season. I've observed they also have discount coupons, so that's added bonus.

My third time staying at the hotel, last time was in 2016. The staff were superb, they were helpful and knowledgeable to all customers, not just myself I stayed there due to attending the Manchester comic con My room as very clean, spotless. The only 2 little downers... I found the bed a little hard for my personal liking and the room was hot... very hot.. other than that.. a good stay I stayed in a disabled room. The shower area was adapted, and the power shower itself was awesome Food wise.. breakfast was amazing.. eat as much as you like for less than £10. Evening meal.. I didn't eat on the first day, but on the second day, I ordered the veggie sausage and mash, but they didn't have any, and offered me a free drink as a compensation, I didn't take them up on it, as I understand that these things happen, in this case, lower food storage due to a refurbishment due to start. On the second day, having been to the comic con, and had a bit if a health issue there, one staff member, BEN, must have thought I didn't look well, he was attentive and asked if he could help me at all, which I thought would be above and beyond his role. Anytime I go to Manchester in the future, this hotel would be my first choice

Perfect location for what we wanted. Good sized room, comfortable large bed plus the room was very cool & relaxing especially considering we were in a heatwave. Very quiet & peaceful too. Would definitely stay there again.

Good stay again here , affordable room and great location straight out onto the gardens. Always find I need a fan here though as cannot open the windows and the rooms gets stuffy. You can rent a fan or I just bring my own normally

  • 4/5 Charlotte B. 1 year ago on Google
Perfect location Apart from cups/tea spoons weren't cleaned. No toilet brush in case we messed up the toilet. No phone if we didn't have mobile phones or they were broken and we had an emergency having to do CPR on someone. And the shower was nice til I flooded the bathroom so I cleaned it up. Could do with a door instead of a curtain.

Stayed here after a concert as a cheap place to crash for the night, staff and other residents were very friendly, the front door does take a few attempts to work with the key cards as they’re locked at all times, the room was tidy but could of been cleaner. We had an amazing view and we’re walking distance from everywhere we needed to be.

  • 2/5 Matthew G. 1 year ago on Google
It was a cheap night but it’s cheap for a reason. Our bathroom door didn’t close properly. The button to flush the toilet would fall off. It was very hot at night. Our keycard was very hot and miss to get into the corridor. The staff were lovely though

  • 3/5 Sarah B. 1 year ago on Google
Great location and very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms very clean. The only thing I found that let's this place down is the rooms being a little dark and depressing (painted grey and purple), and the bed was not comfortable, the mattress needed replacing

  • 2/5 N H. 1 year ago on Google
This score by any means doesn’t reflect the amazing staff who have been amazing and tried their best to accommodate us however, when me and my sister went in the room it was very humid literally no air in the room as no windows were open and they could not be opened due to health and safety we were told and the rooms that did have window open were all full. There was no aircon just 1 small fan which barely did anything but the staff did get us another one which was much needed and appreciated. Overall it’s based in a beautiful busy and lively area which has lots of shops and food places, supermarkets etc but I would not be picking Travelodge as an option in the future.

Fantastic view! Great hotel very central! Staff helpful, room was very clean. And there was a fair amount of vegan options on their menu which I loved.

Great weekend away with family stayed 1 night. Room was clean & tidy with kettle tea/coffee, we had breakfast included which was self serve the choice was very good & the quality the staff in the breakfast area were very helpful oh & the coffee machine took a beating with the kids really enjoying the hot chocolate.

It was my first time staying in Travelodge. The room was clean and tidy. All facilities for making coffee and tea were in the room. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is located in the city centre with easy access to the shops.

  • 1/5 Howard S. 1 year ago on Google
Firstly tap in bathroom sink threw water all over you while you tried to wash (216), secondly the pillows in this room were the worst ever (stayed here before), thirdly we wasted £18 paying for a breakfast that the manager assured us started at 7am didn't actually start while 8am as the 2nd Jan was a pretend bank holiday and we had to leave at 7:30am. I'll be taking a refund up with the call centre. The location is also like crack central late at night/early doors. Doubt we will stay again, I'd sooner pay a fiver more for decent pillows and a hairdryer.

  • 5/5 The Downie F. 9 months ago on Google
Really comfortable room. The only thing I can fault them with is the lack of body soap in the shower. Breakfast could also be a little cheaper, but otherwise really good.

  • 5/5 Rags 11 months ago on Google
Room clean and tidy. The staff we encountered very polite and helpful. The food we ate on site was hot and the dining room clean. This is ideal if staying in Manchester, nothing is too far as tram service really close by. Definitely recommend.

The front desk staff Lynne is enthusiastic and attentive in explaining the check-in process, providing detailed information on local travelling and actively solving the difficulties encountered by the room guests. She is the most enthusiastic and attentive front desk staff I have ever encountered in more than 15 Travelodges , which made us have a profoundly happy experience. Ronald
