Double booked rooms meaning my mate had to get a worse room, huge cleanliness issue as duvet covers and blankets were stained with blood and urine, manager was too in his pride and falsely accused and rang the police for no reason. No manners bunch of cry babies

Staff were friendly upon arrival. Room was sub-standard. Shower gel dispenser was out of order. Ventilation was poor due to blockage from dust. We were surprised to find out breakfast was not provided the next morning and until further notice as there was a "technical fault" in the kitchen. Moreover, we were not told about this during check in. We spoke to the manager, Emma, about our experience so far had been poor. We gave our feedback on our rooms regarding the dispenser and ventilator as we were unhappy with it. However, she was not a great listener and did not receive our feedback professionally. She took it personally and said we were being "aggressive", threatening her by "jumping over the counter" but we clearly did not. She kicked us out after our first night during our 5-day trip and threatened us by calling the police if we did not leave the premise. We had to make a last-minute booking at Premier Inn where we had a better experience and at least feedback was received in a professional manner. In summary, absolutely poor management by the manager Emma. I would not recommend this place based on our experience.

Standard Travelodge rooms, a little on the tired side compared to the newer hotels or refurbished rooms. Although rooms feel bigger than others. Staff were noticeably friendlier than other hotels. Really good value considering its location to city centre.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Really clean throughout the hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are comfortable, we also got two extra beds for the kids, the toilet was clean and had a bath tub and shower. As per other reviews, yes the rooms facing the main road is noisy even when the windows are closed but for the price, we can’t complain much. No AC in the room so it gets really hot but they did give us a table fan which helped. There’s no parking here but the near by Euro Car park 3 minutes walk is a good place to use, 24 hours would cost around £8 on weekdays.

Genuinely great, couldn't ask for better experience. Of course it's a travelodge in a main city so of course it was noisy in the hallways at times, but not at all overly, slept absolutely fine, windows blocked out nearly all sound (better than my windows at home!) And all in all it was a genuinely great experience. I'd been seeing awful reviews for a while for this hotel, up until about 2 months ago and feared the worst. Turns out they've really upped their game, must be new management. Genuinely if you're looking for somewhere clean, friendly and cheap, this is the place! Really good hygiene, clean water, coffee/tea facilities, no fridge but there was a TV and 24/7 bar, plus it's in a wonderful area. Good view from our room and the sheets were very comfortable and clean. Nothing bad to say, also the staff were incredibly polite. Not one bad experience! Will be staying here again.

Stayed here for one night with my girlfriend as we were trying some new bars and somewhere to eat in a different city, so the location was pretty good for that. Couldn’t fault the room itself, was decently clean. We paid extra for early check in, where the service was fine and no nonsense as you’d expect for travelodge. However, as we settled down for bed, at 11:30pm there was a few quiet knocks on our door and then an employee unlocked our door and let herself into our room. She was claiming that our name was not on the booking list and demanded to see our booking ref number. This was absolutely unacceptable, especially at this hour, and very ironic considering the slogan on our card that said ‘sit back and relax’.

The rooms were fine and the beds comfortable. No aircon so it was a bit warm, but a fan was provided. That's good if you can find somewhere to plug it in! Expect to unplug the TV etc, there are very few plug sockets. The shower was hot and powerful, but the plughole couldn't cope with the water flow so I had to turn it down a lot to prevent flooding. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming. Oh, and the key cards wipe themselves if you put them next to your phone or other cards i.e. in a phone case or wallet.

Very comfy bed, which is always a nice surprise, the hotel was very quiet inside, and we were stopping there with a lot of people who had been to see Shania Twain, no noise at all apart from the Manchester traffic outside the window, but that was fine come bed time. A good location for the AO Arena and city centre, just a 10 min walk on the negative side, no onsite parking, and the promise of Quorn sausages on the menu turned out to be a cruel joke, just chewy meat sausages that my partner had, apart from that the breakfast was adequate. So not too bad for the price.

Absolutely perfect. I've stayed here many times and always been happy. Great location, helpful staff. Everything you'd want!

The first day I hung the sign on the door which states that we needed top up for towels and toilet paper and empty the bins. But when we came back in the afternoon there were nothing done in the room. The next day I went out of the room, saw the lady cleaning and I specifically asked her to change our towels and give tissue paper but when we came back in the afternoon, the room was still in the same state, no fresh towels or toilet paper. The toilet stinks even after flushing. The room they gave us was in a corner and there was barely any light inside the room. Only location is good with hotel and nothing else. So upset about this Travelodge. Used to book lot of Travelodge before now i am not sure i will ever consider this.

The room was very nice, although was expecting if it will have a big electric cooler for the whole room. Overall their service is excellent and the location is perfect.

Great for our one night stay. Stayed in a few other travelodges and none as good as this one. Very clean, rooms were very tidy, staff very friendly and breakfast was great. Location is only 15 mins walk from the Arndale centre. Multi story Citipark car park around 8 mins walk which I’d recommend, £16 for a day but is more secure than all other options I found. Would definitely stay here again.

We were meant to stay in this hotel in April but we’ve been relocated because there was some works going on, so I can’t comment about the rooms. I’d like to thank the staff that was at the reception on Friday 21st of April in the evening, they seemed really sorry for not being able to accommodate us and did their very best to relocate us in another travelodge (which was more expensive but at no cost for us), which is on Piccadilly gardens. They wanted to offer the taxi for us which was super nice but the two hotels are within 10min walk from each other so that was okay. It was nice chatting with them and I appreciated that they felt concerned with the situation and doing their best to provide a great service. If I remember well it was a young lady with blonde hair and a young lad with an accent but can’t remember from where though he told me. Anyway, thanks again for being so kind and helpful ! You are a great value to the company :)

Solid 9/10, clean room, lovely and super helpful staff, quite considering where it is and reasonable price, only negative was the evening food was a lil hit and miss, couple of times my food was over cooked but considering it's the front of house staff cooking I won't complain to hard, maybe an extra set of hands on the weekend wouldn't be the worst idea But overall, enjoyed my stay and would happily stay again

Being a woman of an age where my memory is not at its finest, I left behind my Galaxy pods. I realised when I was in the airport heading home. The on call manager was fantastic, went straight to my room, found my pods and kept them in the safe until our prepaid envelope arrived. They were very fast at turning it straight back in the post. Lovely chatty staff

Unfortunately, my experience at this place was quite disappointing. Upon check-in, we were immediately faced with an issue as we were given the wrong rooms. Despite booking two twin rooms online, we were initially provided with two double rooms. The receptionist informed us that he would check if twin rooms were available, leaving us uncertain. Thankfully, two disabled rooms were eventually found, and we were relocated. The property itself is in dire need of attention and care. The hallways and stairs emitted an unpleasant smell of urine, and it was disheartening to discover that the restaurant was closed and not operational. Furthermore, there was no parking available for guests. Once inside the rooms, the disappointment continued. The bathroom's shower gel dispenser was out of order, resulting in inconvenience. The shower itself flooded the entire bathroom floor, causing further frustration. Additionally, we were given only one toilet roll for two guests, which was insufficient. The beds were uncomfortable, the window was broken, allowing excessive noise from the busy road outside, and the carpets appeared extremely dirty. On a positive note, the hotel's location in the city centre near the main train station proved to be convenient, especially for attending a nearby concert. Try and avoid this hotel if you can and get a Premier Inn.

The price was really cheap compared to other hotels in Manchester. The distance from hotel to town/train station is manageable as well. The room was fairly clean and I was delighted to have found an electric fan as it was very warm when we stayed there.

Remember to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking your stay. This site will compare countless booking web sites and normally will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is one of the best in this area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you for sure won't regret it. Surprisingly good. Staff were all excellent, rooms perfectly OK and a nice all you can eat breakfast for 8.95. Overall great value stay in a central location.

Stayed here a few weeks ago after the United match. Very good value for a Sunday night stay. Friendly check in by Jacob. Room was comfortable. Have stayed before and would definitely stay again.

Couldn't fault the place, cards are a bit finicky to use on the doors initially but there is a knack. Great sized rooms we had a few 3/4 bedrooms for 20 people during a stag. Simple facilities including toiletries (shower body and hair gel), plug ports, TV, wardrobe Simple breakfast at ÂŁ8 - unlimited ranging from sausage, bacon, egg, pancake, bagel, fruit, juice, cereal, milk, tomato, mushroom, yoghurt

You get what you pay for. The room was spacious enough but the bathroom could have been cleaned better, there was hairs and dust in the shower. There is no hair dryer in the room. Only 2 bath towels provided (no hand towel or bath mat). There are no plug sockets at bedside. At check in reception staff was busy serving at the bar and I was waiting for a few minutes. At checkout no one was there and I used the slot on the reception desk to return my key.

Good location in the centre near the main train station. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. No hairdryer. Shower was good. The food in the evening let them down. Apparently they had a fuse go. We had a staggered evening meal as some was ready and others not and they wanted to serve it when it was hot. So, I had my half chicken, then later my hassle back potatoes, which were very dry and went cold quickly. Then when I had finished I had to ask for my corn on the cob. There was no slaw which was supposed to come with it. Disappointing. They were apologetic but we felt they should have offered a refund.

On our day out to Manchester we decided to stay over.. we generally stay in the lodges when visiting other towns… it was very good value for money when going in the week. The room are what y would expect from travel Lodge ie good size, model deco and very clean… Ps after this many reviews I feel I’m becoming a bit of an expert… oh the joys of getting older 🤣

Even for a travellodge this was a disappointment. There was zero room insulation, so you can hear every door open and slam, the elevator open and any other noise you can think of. The breakfast was honestly barely edible and tasted weird. I only ate it because it was paid for and needed to eat something for the day ahead. Staff were not very receptive and didnt really say much and was left standing there for a while waiting before we just walked away.

Stayed 2 nights, the first night was fine nothing went wrong. The room was fine for 2 of us, nothing to complain about. Staff was nice on arrival asking us why we were visiting and making conversation. The 2nd night was a utter nightmare, wanting a chilled night in the hotel turned into a nightmare. From about 9pm an argument was started next door which resulted in them hitting the wall connecting to our room, phoned reception who did checks and nothing was found. Then for the next 4 hours huge bangs coming from the room above us, happening every 10/15 minutes putting us on edge. We constantly phoned reception who didn’t pick up after we phoned 2/3 times. Verbal abuse coming from next door banging on our door for us to stop banging (we was trying to sleep.) the loud horrible bangs from upstairs went on till 2am where we had enough and left the hotel to drive 2 hours home. Staff said they would check the room after we left but no compensation!

I stayed at this hotel in February 2023 When I entered my room, I noticed an unpleasant smell but thought nothing of it. I then used the sink to wash my hands, however the water filled to the top and did not go down. I then saw a colleague in the corridor heading into the maintenance/cleaning room who then came back to the room to try and fix the issue. The gentleman opened the trap and emptied the water into a bucket, which produced an even more unpleasant smell. The dirty water had touched the gentleman’s hand (he did not wear any gloves) and he then went on to touch the tap handle and the door handle which is very unhygienic. The gentleman then asked me to use and monitor the sink, and if the issue continued then I should go down to reception who will move myself and my guest to another room. I used the sink 30 minutes later and the water would not flow down. I then went down to reception to ask to be moved to another room, but they stated they were fully booked for the night so were unable to move me to another room. A colleague came up to the room with a plunger to solve the issue. The issue was not solved and the unpleasant smell continued to fill the room. My experience at Travelodge Ancoats was extremely poor, but I had no option but to continue my stay. I was also promised a 25% E-Voucher by the Hotel Manager, allowing 25% off my next travelodge booking, however I have not received that yet.

Very warm and friendly reception, everything made easy from check in to cheked out. Room was large and clean, but expect some noise because this hotel located just by the street. Everything was great will stay here again.

Pretty grim. Skeleton staff - though they try their best. Room dirty with super-dodgy plumbing (sink and shower failed to drain away). No soap in hand or shower dispenser. Rooms at the back look onto a bleak alley with abandoned buildings where buses park during the day and large black Mercedes do their business at night - lots of shouting and screaming so difficult to sleep with the window ajar. Wouldn’t stay again.

Fire alarms kept going off in the middle of the night, staff were racing around trying to resolve but needed assistance. It transpired that the deputy manager was asleep the whole time in the building. Also subsequently learned that the fire alarms doing this “happened often”. Eventually got a refund after much persistence.

Staff here are great, very friendly on arrival and even let me check in 30 mins before the scheduled check in time. Room is decent for the price you pay. You're paying for the location more than anything. Close to picadilly gardens and the Northern quarter in general. Room generally clean. They could provide another toilet roll or two tho. The fan provided was dirty, probably from use during the entire summer. Not great to have dirt blowing into you in fairness. Room can be noisier during the day depending on where you are. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Location was my priority and this place provided a place to stay for one night

Cheap but not very cheerful. Small box room in a very Tired Hotel. Room too warm and extremely noisy if window open. Second time I've stayed due to its location to my job, first time the room was slightly better. Staff nice and friendly on arrival.

  • 4/5 Liam N. 1 year ago on Google
Great location and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately electrical issues meant there was literally no food being served (expensive breakfasts found nearby). Room was OK but very basic - perfectly fine for just getting your head down.

Had a fantastic stay at this Travelodge with my partner, everything was clean and tidy, if you left your towels on the floor or bedding they would change them, had wonderful hot running water and enough for a large bath. Tea/coffee and milk were brought to our room every morning and there was a kettle and plenty of space for the two of us. Only reason I'd give the location one less star is because if you're on the second floor the road is quite noisy, but not enough that it's a problem. It was central enough that every day we could find a new place to explore but far away enough from the chaos. Great experience.
