Good position for Manchester center and Arena. Parking is available next door for a payment, additional car parking across from the hotel is also available. Rooms come with twin or single beds, small desk and 1 chair. Tea/coffee is available in the room. You need to ask reception if you require the iron and ironing board. Bathroom has enough space for all your makeup or essentials needed. Room was clean and tidy, no unusual smells or stains. Breakfast is optional extra at £8.99 for all inclusive. I thought this was a good deal for the price. Staff were pleasant and polite and smart in appearance. There is also a 24hr bar if that's what you like. Taxis are easily ordered from reception at the push of a button and due to the location you will only be waiting 5mins. Vending machines are also in reception if you need a quick drink or snack. Give this review a thumbs up if you think it is helpful.

Was not stopping at this place at all, I had literally just parked the car up after a two hour journey to go to the AO arena. Walked in as it was the first place I saw me and my wife wanted a drink and to use the bathroom was told that we couldn’t use the bathroom or the bar it was for guests only I am so pleased Travelodge are doing so well that they can afford to turn away custom I appreciate I’m not from the area but in the state of the climate you can turn away custom me and my wife would’ve probably ended up spending about £80 with drinks and food and it being next door to the arena for passing trade that’s some money. Middle age couple that probably use Travelodge4 times a year gone in a heartbeat your loss

I made a booking for 3 nights. I arrived last Tuesday & yesterday night I found that my room hadn't been cleaned at all ( bed unmade, no fresh towels, etc). I complained to reception this morning & they gave me a hanger ti be hanged on the door. It said 'please top up my room' or something along these lines. To my surprise 'topping up' means just providing fresh towels & tea & coffee & emptying the rubbish bin. This is a disgrace for a 3 star hotel. It's filthy dirty. I'm not coming back. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Having read previous reviews the morning before I left, I was a bit worried about what to expect. I should not have worried. The staff were fantastic, the room and bathroom were spotless and the hotel smelt lovely. I had an evening meal and sweet. It was cooked to order and was great. I haven't had a Knickerbocker glory for years. The breakfast was good. The selection of fruit, cereal, breads, milks, drinks and cooked items were extensive. If you wanted to you could even take a hot drink away with you. The housekeeping staff were also very pleasant. I speak as I find and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Oh, the AO Arena is literally 2 minutes up the road.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Stains on the carpet, hand print on the wall. Key cards hardly ever worked had to keep getting the key card redone at reception. Bet was very uncomfortable as well. No teaspoons in the rooms, I took stirrers from the bar café to the room and by the time we got back. The cleaner who replaced the towels removed them. No side plates at breakfast. We wont be using travelodge again.

I have stayed in several Travelodge hotels and this one was really disappointing, very uncomfortable bed that made a noise every time you moved, bathroom was clean but didn't smell clean, room was very hot. Breakfast was poor definitely not worth 9.50 each, dirty plates so asked for new plates and the new plates were still dirty, lacking food items, no cups or glasses, we definitely won't return to this hotel

The location is wonderful and very easy to find, there is a grocery store not too far away and the AO arena can be seen from the Hotel. Not too far from the city center too. The front desk staff was nice and courteous. The room was pristine, well laid with towels and shower gel, there is a heater though it timed out every 10mins. I didn't have breakfast on my visit as I had an early start. Lovely experience in all.

For the price this hotel is great. Modern and clean, usb sockets by the bed and decent tea and coffee making facilities. It does get hot in summer though and there is no AC (as expected at this price bracket) and not all rooms get a fan. Don’t expect a wardrobe but with good sound insulating windows and blackout curtains you should get a decent night’s sleep. Plenty of parking next door in a private car park. Was about £14-15 per 24 hour period paid by app.

Stay well away from this place. Car park will charge up to £14 for overnight parking. No soap in shower holder. Can hear all traffic outside. Only good thing was the restaurant and breakfast. Plus, security guards on door going in. Say no more!

Never stayed anywhere like this with the worst customer service and security issues. Had a call from the reception desk minutes before check-in informing the family room is out of order and replaced it with two double rooms 310, 311. We checked-in at 3:30 on a Saturday and went out for sight seeing after that. When we returned at night we were shocked to see Travelodge gave our room 311 to another customer. Yes, the same room we checked in at 3pm that day. The well trained staffs ay receptionist did not even have a justification for that and simply gave us another room in the 5th floor (521). The next day morning we realized the new room did not shower gel or hand wash and informed the desk about it. We stayed there for one more night and they did not even bother to refill the shower gel or hand wash. Pathetic staff and management. Gave my number at the reception desk asking their manager to contact me as they were on holidays and no one bothered to ring me. Not even a single apology from their management.

Stayed here for 1 night on 17.02.23 and I can genuinely say it’s the best travelodge I’ve stayed in. Very clean, breakfast was great and Big thank you to the Assistant Manager Abbie George for her professional, friendly and approachable customer service - especially considering we experienced a false fire alarm during the early hours which was dealt with and over very quickly. Great stay! Will come here again.

I booked a disabled friendly room for my Mum for an 11 night stay over Christmas. She has had a wonderful stay, the staff have been so friendly and helpful. The breakfast has been great with lots of options every morning. The room has been perfect for her. We have eaten dinner in the restaurant a couple of times and the food was delicious with lots of options.

Good stay here! I think it would have been good if the room had coat hooks and maybe some disposable plastic cups. Also, the breakfast was fantastic! Overall, I would definitely come back.

Difficult choice to put two stars. We stayed two nights and on the first day check in was smooth however we got placed in the wrong room as check in had made a mistake so we had to move our stuff again. On that night the fire alarm went off at 3am about three times which was very annoying.Overall the room was clean and neat. The floors were slightly stained and the double bed duvet had blood stains on it Very disgusting!.The breakfast was not worth for the extra £50 I paid.It was tasteless! The cups were dirty and the cutlery as well. The vending machine drinks were empty.Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Overall it was fine not very great but glad we only stayed two nights.

Room was sufficient. Had tea and coffee but we don't drink either. We couldn't find a hairdryer whether we missed it or not I don't know x even though they are building next door it stopped at 530pm and was very quiet.

travelodge rooms are unmatchable for that price (of you book early). Cleanliness was lit. Just no soap in the dispenser. Which is fine. Not super picky. Everything was alright. Except they should really work on the food. Their food is not good and a bit expensive as well. Maybe add a few more options for asome sandwiches as well? Easy to pick and go when you have long journey ahead.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, checked in on August 03rd- checked out on August 07th. When i arrived didn't get a "welcome" just got told to show my booking reference & got the key and got told its on 4th floor. The room was really hot. The shower was clean but had red lipstick Stains on the shower head. The bed constantly made noise everytime you moved. The table was all greesy. The remote kept sticking and hardly tuned over the tele. Had major issues with the sockets and got told "it's my charger ". When it came to changing my beds and bins and fresh stuff they didn't knock. I had to go to the trolly dump my rubbish and dirty towels and get my own. I had to ask them if they could change my sheets. Instead of them coming to me and asking. The food wasent that great. Ordered a pepperoni pizza & it was full of cheese. It seemed like they was always short staffed. I felt like I couldn't approach members of staff because I wouldn't know how they would react. When I was checking out they didn't even acknowledge me they just said "dump key in box". Overall it wasent a good experience. Ricki .H

Hotel is good, rooms are good, service is good. The only down side for this hotel is where its situated. The area is run down, the homeless are abundant, the roads strewn with litter. Not the best place to be if your looking for something good all round.

We have checked in today there are horrible stains on the carpet, the windows are absolutely filthy, the lady on reception was very rude and unpleasant. We booked 2 rooms and accidentally booked the 2nd room for the wrong date, this was a genuine error and was for my 18 year old brother. Luckily there were rooms still available however… My brother had to pay an additional £28 to amend the booking as there is a £10 booking amendment fee + any additional room rate fees. My partner and I booked the same style room and this cost £34,99 my poor brother has had to pay £53 for a single occupancy room… I understand it was our fault in making the error however we are human and we all make silly errors, why there is a penalty I do not know… The lady that served us was very rude, abrupt, didn’t smile at all, wasn’t very helpful at all. I do not recommend at all…

Room was clean, tea, coffee was provided in room. However paid for breakfast went to restaurant at 9.55am and was turned away as breakfast finished at 10, even though food was still out. He allowed us to get a brew as I had my own t-bag, won't be paying for breakfast again.

Location fantastic the Arena. However, total lack of sleep due to construction work, hard mattress and pillows. Breakfast selection poor, with only scrambled egg as the only egg option. When it gets busy in the bar, there is not enough staff and security is way over the top, using a key card and then being asked the room number. You even have to use your key card to go to the toilet! Disappointed as normally find Travelodge’s fine.

Last night was our first visit to Travelodge Hotel. It was nice and easy to get to, it is worth noting they don’t have a car park…however, there is parking next to the hotel run by a parking company…think it was £10 for 24 hours which isn’t too bad I suppose..we were surprised when we were allowed to check in 40 minutes before the allocated time. The rooms where ok, personally tv could’ve been a little bigger…just to fill the wall a little bit, and the room we stayed in could’ve done with a fresh coat of paint as the walls had stains on and even the ceiling! But other than that the rooms where ok…wasn’t a huge fan of the beds…mattress and pillows weren’t the comfiest tbh. But when your staying one night it’s not too bad …when we come next year I think we’ll bring our own pillows…but again not too bad when staying for the night

Very good. Very close to The Arena if you're going for an event there, or the city, car parking too and also other car parking around the area. Room very nice, clean tidy, tea/ coffee making, t.v. Ensuite shower room nice and clean, modern looking. A small bar on ground floor also doubles as a diner and breakfast area. All good.

Avoid this place like the plague! (You have been warned) I would advise anyone to pay more money for a better hotel. The room had stains all over carpet and curtains, the sink was blocked, the shower was too small to the point I banged my head bending over to pick up shower gel etc and the floor flooded because shower curtain was too short, there was food on the stairwell floor and people smoking cannabis outside the main entrance. On the upside the staff were very friendly and helpful and the bed was extremely comfortable and heating was on so room was warm when we arrived!

The location is central but is still a good walk from the city centre. The room wasn't that great, kettle wasn't clean. I asked for an iron and the water cap part was broken and iron had stains so I asked for a new one but seemed they all had the same issue. Wouldn't recommend for weekend travel as it costs £150+ and deffo isn't worth that much

Beware when booking with Travel lodge! We booked and paid for a room 6 months in advance with our 2 children for a concert, we arrived at 12.30 to be advised our room was not ready until 3. we came back at 6 before our meal and we were told we did not have a room due to maintenance. this was a lie it was because Travel lodge have over sold the rooms. The staff told us. All the reception staff offered us was to send an email and try find us somewhere out of the area. how we was going to get there when the full arena kicks out was beyond me. this was going on for an hour and very must put us in a situation we should not have been in with our kids, what a joke from this company!

Great location for the arena. Comfy rooms. Good shower, friendly staff. Never enough coffee, sugar and milk, but reception always happy to top up.

  • 1/5 Niamh L. 5 months ago on Google
Toilet was dirty, wasn’t clean at all!!!! When told the staff at reception they replied with “the cleaner has gone home so there is nothing we can do about it” Didn’t use the toilets in the room as we felt more clean in the public toilet at reception before going out. Would rate room lower than 1 star if I could. Not with 120 for the night with a room that dirty.

1 star! Everything was fine. The staff in the Nightshift on 3rd Dec absolutely brilliant. Rooms were great for the price. Great location. Late night bar and food available. Fantastic! But, but.... When I was checking young girl at the checkout at 12 pm 4th December, she was not supposed to be working in hospitality. I told he I was checking out and looked at me, I gave her my cards, she took it and put it in a hole and turned around to go inside... I asked her that if everything was done. She said yes and went inside the room! Never in my life I had this types of checkouts. Travelodge should train them about manners and minimum social behaviours. So sorry Travelodge, I love your hotels but need to work on this!

Perfect location for access to the AO Arena! We were there for a gig and reception staff were able to offer helpful tips for accessing the arena. The hotel reception and bar played music from the band we were seeing that night which is a really nice touch. All staff were friendly and our room was clean and well stocked. Would definitely stay here again when in Manchester

Typical Travelodge - but that's a good thing. Excellent for access to the AO Arena - good bar, lovely pizzas, good breakfast, really nice welcome from friendly staff. Couldn't fault it for the money.

Ridiculous service. I came to Manchester to at least enjoy a good night sleep after visiting my relatives. Sadly, since I took a sit at the desk, I've been hearing nothing but water drips in solid form. Talk about distraction and a punishment for why I chose Manchester Arena over others even though I payed within my own means. I asked for a bath and got a shower even after making sure that I was headed to a room with one. Shares bro

Room was functional albeit a few suspicious stains around the room! Now the staff were absolutely amazing and so helpful (Owen the night supervisor is an absolutely lovely man). They gave us plenty of ideas for things to do and answered all our questions about directions etc. Bar was open until 5am which was great to be able to pick up drinks after being out and about exploring the city. Drinks nice and cold. The pizza was literally so nice I asked for a box for it to bring back to Liverpool so people could try it. Thin, perfect sauce and cheese ratio. Just an overall amazing experience. Will definitely stay again in the near future! Thankyou for helping us make some amazing memories!

very disappointed. the room was dirty; the ledge behind the bed was full of dirt, as was the little shelves by the side. the floor was covered in stains & there was someone else’s hair in the towel. rest of the bathroom was poorly cleaned as well. to top it all off, as soon as you stepped inside the room all you could smell was pee and this was with the window open. purposely changed my train to be six hours early to get out of there.

  • 1/5 Paul H. 1 year ago on Google
Upon arrival our allocated room turned out to be still occupied so we were given a different room. This one had bedding so filthy we had to sleep on top rather than under the quilt. The drink vending machine was empty and the main desk frequently unattended. As it was very late at night and we needed to leave early, we didn't get it fixed. Despite its location near Manchester Victoria and the AO Arena, I won't be staying here again and don't recommend that you do either.

Where to start? The room was the smallest ever, a small TV on the wall with a broken remote, the pillows were stained under the pillowcase. I found out the soap dispensers did not work once I was in the show. Due to no phone in the room I needed to dress and go down 4 floors to speak to receptions. They turned up promptly and fixed the issue, but felt very awkward with them in the tiny room while we wanted to get dressed for the wedding we were going to. The 4tg floor hallway carpet was stained and dirty. The radiator in the room was dirty, the shower curtain in the bathroom was a bit short so the bathroom floor became wet At no point did any employee apologise and even made me feel I was complaining for nothing. Due to the pillows I left at 12:30 in the morning and never even slept in the room. I will be making an official complaint as £188 for this kind of service is completely unacceptable. And on top of the £188 I needed to pay £3 for WiFi. Please think twice before staying in this hotel, there are plenty of other hotels with higher standards close by.

Stayed a night with my friend for business liabilities, the staff was very welcoming and tried the best! We enjoyed our stay, the room was magnificent clear and tidy. I would like to thank the staff of Monday's midnight 13.12.22 they even worked the next morning on the breakfast. Bless them! ☺️🤍 Travelodge is a must in Manchester!

So I and my family were lodged in this hotel for 11 days, I enjoyed the breakfast, the location was good, some of the staff were friendly however the experience was average, my room was rarely cleaned as I have to keep going downstairs to remind them for my room to be cleaned, I usually stay 3-4 nights before requesting for this service, yet it was difficult for them to get it done. The shower is also not friendly for kids as it is just stuck on the wall. what hurt me the most was I forgot my AirPods Pro at this hotel and I went back 2 days later to ask for it and I was given an empty case. I told the front desk the last place the location came up and I was told they would get back to me. It has been over 1 month and I never heard from them. Try not to forget anything valuable here. Lastly the fire alarm kept going on and off upsetting my sleeping daughter. we eventually moved moved to another hotel which was a lot better for almost the same price.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The let down was the bathroom, when we arrived there was no soap & when I used the shower I discovered the drain was blocked & the whole bathroom flooded. Luckily someone was able to come & unclog it but they did nothing about the water so we were left with a flooded bathroom. Also we had no spoons to make tea/coffee with.

It’s not even that hot outside but my room is boiling. There is no air supply or vents so you just cook in here. It’s 19 degrees outside but I’m sweating in here and it was an awful night sleep. Cheap build hotel - floors creak and doors slam. No sound proofing along corridors. Security guard needed downstairs - obviously house some pretty rough people. Food options limited and very, very, very average. Staff were very friendly - standard Manchester experience where people do their best to help and be polite.

During our 4 night stay, our room was not serviced once. Every morning i had to have my keycard reprogrammed because it had stopped working. There is no soap in the dispenser. Disappointing dining experience. breakfast seemed unorganised too with people waiting around for things to be topped up. plates, cutlery, cups and glasses was all filthy as there was food on it and was not cleaned properly.

NOT recommended. 1 night stay. Corporate booking via AMEX. Invoiced room rate was £66 incl breakfast. Upon arrival they did not honour the rate and charged me additionally for breakfast. Tried to demonstrate my point. Totally useless, staff uninterested. Manager fobbed me off and did nothing. Rechecked my booking and sure enough I was right and they were wrong. I've now got to try and get a partial refund in some way. Rooms - well pretty standard as as usual. No glasses/beakers in the room which was annoying. Breakfast - Totally grim. Food quality was vile. Cheapest ingredients. AT 730am I entered the breakfast area - plates with leftover food left out and not cleared. Poorly serviced drinks machines and not a member of staff in sight.. So for my £76quid rip off I do not recommend this establishment. Nonchalant staff who did NOTHING to assist.

Our room was absolutely disgusting the bed was dirty and so we’re the towels. The location was good but the room was discussing the towels were dirty and looked like they hadn’t bothered to change them before our arrival! I will not be staying here ever again the staff were rude when I asked for a change of towels and new room. There wasn’t a other room available that night. To think the price I paid for the hotel I would expect a lot better!

Hotel is as expected. Any staff we have spoken to have been really lovely. But, owing to a rainstorm we cancelled our dinner reservations to eat here and have been sat staring at an empty unstaffed bar (where food AND drink are ordered) for over an hour now. I'm.sorry but on a Saturday evening that isnt good enough. Hotel should possibly employ additional staff.

I mean... You get what you pay for. Not the most equiped or comfortable room but worth the low price we paid (less than 30 a night). What was not worth was a random blood stain in the bedroom nor the bathroom towels which felt like they were washed with a lot of detergent and it didn't wash all off. None of this was reported to the receptionist (when there was one) as we weren't spending all that much time in there.

A decent hotel in an excellent location for the train station and the AO arena which is next door. A convenient place to stay when going to a gig, however the bar service was very slow.

Room was very dirty. To coffee stains along the top of the headboard. Table clearly wasn’t cleaned properly with sugar and mug circles all over the top. Even stains on the walls that looks like someone’s thrown a drink at it. Very poor standards of cleanliness
