We had a great stay here last weekend. The staff could not do enough to make our stay easy and enjoyable. The room was super clean and well equipped. Parking was £5 for 24h and within easy reach of the city centre. It has been really nicely modernised and the bar/breakfast space was great too. Again, staff were brilliant in terms of looking after us - they went over and above. So impressive and such a lovely welcome.

Very friendly staff. Room was compact but enough space for 2 Shower not bath. It is by a main road so which ever room you have (mine was facing the car park) will be a little noisy if window open. Room didn't have hairdryer but lovely lady at reception lent me one. Will be returning. Daughter at Manchester Met University and so perfect as 25 min walk

Thank you to Julian and his team for being so wonderful during my stay in Manchester. The room was clean, bed comfy, and there was everything needed for my stay. Location was convenient for the uni and train station too. However, what really made the stay was how welcoming and accomodating Julian and his team were. Highly recommend the Upper Brook Street Travelodge for your stay in Manchester!

This place is terrible. I booked a stay here and left immediately. Room - Substandard Safety - substandard - light out in hallway outside my door and my door would not lock properly Cleanliness - horrible Customer Service - nonexistent I have been trying for a week to talk to somebody about getting my money back for a service I did not use and they do not reply and there are no numbers to call. Essentially, this place has stolen my money! Someone please contact me to work this out.

We stayed one night for a concert nearby. The room was good for the price and everything was clean and tidy. The staff were actually amazing, especially Julian who went above and beyond to help us print out tickets for the show.

I was very happy with my stay, all the staff were nice, especially Maria is a very friendly and She is a humble girl and she respects her work. I found her to be a good employee of the hotel, and I'm more than happy that the place was close to everything, I'm sure I'll come again, thank you.

My boys and I stayed here 14th April as we were heading to see The Rock Band Skillet so arrived on a horrible rained out day ..We actually got soaked so was early checking in the manager Julian was lovely nothing was too much trouble he gave me and the boys some hot drinks and he did check us in before our time of 3pm..The room was nice comfortable big beds towels and plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was nice good choice ,the staff were all very friendly and polite..I'd stay here again as in a great area & easy to get the academy and Arena ..Train station is just up the road ..

Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Only things I didn't like was the complimentary coffee in the room, though there is a coffee machine in reception. I nipped to the local morrisons and got a box of nescafe sachets for a pound. Also the breakfast wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped. No baked beans and the scrambled egg didn't taste too good. When you pay extra for breakfast you just want it to be nice. Would stay here again though.

Nice stay. Flexible prices so my night was sub 50 but the same room can 130 on a popular night. Supply and demand.parking 5 for 24hrs. Breakfast 9 , didn't have any though this time. Only saw one staff member he was friendly enough.

The service from Julian was fantastic. Really on the ball, uses his common sense and initiative really well to avoid issues. He solved an issue I had quickly and swiftly without any major disruption. Highly appreciated! Generally the attitude of the team and staff was great. Which isn't always the case these days unfortunately in many service based businesses. With this hotel you get what you pay for. Rooms are very basic but that is also reflected in the rate.

Take this review in the context of a Travelodge. It is well located for visits to the University of Manchester. The staff are fantastic and super friendly. The rooms are clean and functional. The food is better than you would expect. I have been staying here when I visit Manchester for 8 years and it has been consistently good. It isn't a Premier Inn, and it is perfectly fine.

From start to finish can not fault. Staff were 1st class. Rooms excellent with wifi £3 charge but that's nothing. Breakfast was really good and do cater for celiacs disease, vegans

Unfortunately the room was horrific! The cups and spoons were dirty; the shower was vile - hair was stuck in the plug and the shower had not been cleaned. The bathroom tissue was low and half used; there was residue of toothpaste dried on the basin and the shower curtain was between yellow-brown and going black! No iron/ ironing board/hairdryer. It was clear that the room had not been cleaned. The most they did was change the sheets! The only positive was that it was close to Uni. Of Manc!

Stay away! Save your money! My family came from Canada and trusted the online reviews. When they got there they found it was disgusting. It was under going renovations and it was very dirty. The room door would not lock and there was no light working outside in the hall. My family left and went to another hotel because of how bad it is. Travelodge is happily keeping our money and basically just saying too bad for you. Their customer service is horrible. They don’t care about customers.

First of all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms had been updated to high standard and was excellent. Slept like a log. It is also pet friendly but have extra charge for that hence my dog loves it. The location is perfect to the place we needed to be . Manchester infirmary Hospital is just across the road. Highly recommended and will go back. Parking is just at the back of the premises with a very cheap charges £5 for 24 hours but need to revalidate at the travelodge reception. Overall experience is superb!!!!

Very clean and nice rooms with everything necessary. Included breakfast was good. There is no free Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is paid (I think it was maybe £3 per day or something), which I have never seen before - a business hotel with no internet included. Overall happy

Room was tidy and clean. No hairdryer, iron or ironing board in the room, I'm sure if needed we could have arranged to loan one. The window although closed, was not tight and needs to be adjusted to fit the frame, made it feel like I had not closed the window. Staff were friendly and helpful with information. Menu for throughout the day and a small bar. We only had breakfast this was a great variety of cereals, cooked english breakfast, baked goods and fruit. Within a 10 minute walking distance to the Manchester Apollo. Parking is £5 for 24 hours in a gated car park with cameras.

Our first hotel stay in Manchester last year didn't go too well so we were a bit dubious about coming back but this place was next level .. The room was modern and clean also comfy . The staff were great really friendly the bars open until 5am and the unlimited breakfast was spot on add the parking which is only £5 for 24 hours and that's it job done ...

I have been to a couple of hotels in Malaysia, Singapore and other countries where the services are excellent and the staff are well trained on hospitality. Here the staff are rude and I want to emphasize the importance of proper staff training in the hospitality industry which the hotel is lacking in this regard.

Lovely staff, overworked. Did their best, but we could see they were short staffed. Food was nice, beer was good. Room was quite basic.

Daniela and Dahai were amazing with great customer service. They catered to my needs which made my stay at Travelodge a brilliant experience, I would definitely recommend this location. Good room and good service

Great hotel, perfect for our one night stay. The room was clean and quiet and the food was great. Location is great too, the 02 Apollo is literally 10 min walk away. Ample on site parking too. We’d definitely stay here again.

Recently, our family of 5 stayed in the Travelodge in Manchester by the Hospital. We went to see our relative who had been staying there for the last few weeks. The staff was absolutely fantastic. The manager Daniela and her team went the extra mile to ensure that we had everything we needed. The room was nice and tidy and breakfasts were absolutely beautiful. I would be very happy to stay there again and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay in Manchester.

This Travelodge is my go-to in Manchester, it’s round the corner from Manchester Academy (where I frequently visit for gigs) and has extremely friendly staff. The service is great & the beds are very comfy. The location is perfect if visiting around the area. Only bad thing is that it’s next to a hospital so there might be the one siren every now and again waking you up!

Nice place, short walk from the O2 Apollo which is what we were there for. Staff were really lovely the entire time, explained things enough for me and were helpful with any questions I had. Room was clean, a bit small, but the price comes from the great location and the day you stay so it makes sense.

  • 3/5 Libby 6 months ago on Google
Good price for a Sunday night, but overpriced for the weekend. Close to the city centre and there's a bus stop 1 minute from the hotel which takes you to the city centre and Media City. Car park was £5 for 24 hours - great value and safe. Bathroom was small. A smell of cannabis was present in the corridor and the smell was coming under our door. Staff said they can't do anything about it unless someone is caught smoking it in the hotel. This spoiled our stay in an otherwise enjoyable trip to Manchester.

  • 3/5 Jill D. 1 year ago on Google
Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The bathroom was a little bit smelly and the shower drain could do with cleaning as the water did not drain. The hand soap dispenser was empty. We had to ask for more towels but were promptly provided with them. No hairdryer. Waited quite some time for food even though we were the only people there. Food was ok. Not too bad for one night.

Honestly the best, most efficient Travelodge I've stayed in. Early check-in was no problem, dog allowed for a £20 surcharge. 24hr parking for just £5. Service was excellent. Staff were super attentive. Location is ideal for events at the academy. Breakfast was hot and fresh and great value at £8.99 for unlimited breakfast. Great team, well done.

The stars I given are for the nice staffs. I got a most poorly sleep as their bright lights at parking were shooting straight into the window all night long even during the day. Staff did good cleaning but Toilet or the sink is quite smelly.

Stayed for the weekend to go watch Ed Sheeran. Electric went out in our room. Had a terrible sleep due to noise water works in our bathroom sounded like the bathroom tap was constantly turned on. When new manager brought up with house keeping, the answer was yes that's a problem that we need to log 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈 Breakfast was an absolute shambles on the Saturday. There was either no chairs, no cutlery or plates and when there was some there was no food. Paid £18 for a slice of toast, egg and a cup of tea out of a paper cup. Complained, offered no refund. They expect us to pay for that service ??? Unprofessional staff, who ignored us while waiting and proceeded to talk to people behind us, making a scene several times and telling everyone she's cried all morning. Food ordered Saturday evening, wasn't cooked. However the girl who cooked and served us did an excellent job of dealing with the situation. Spoke to the manager before we left on the sunday which resulted in us missing our train and absolutely nothing has been done to rectify any of this or contacted us. Yet was told the new manager would deal with it. As over £300 is abit steep for this shambles of hotel.

Very convenient. Friendly staff, clean and we kept rooms and reception area. Stair wells were a bit mucky and could do with some attention. Good breakfast with a lot of choice.

The staff and the hotel manager Julian are absolutely amazing. I had to do a few bookings with the hotel and everything was managed in a very professional and high manner. Also once I made a mistake doing a booking and Julian was so kind and sorted everything for me. 100% recommend

Room was nice , staff were fantastic, Daniel the manager was very helpful when the travel lodge app wasn't working, but still had to ring my daughter to book the room for me and paid £111 pounds for a family room which I didn't want,I only wanted a room with 2 single beds in but no other rooms available, very expensive just for 1 night and that didn't include breakfast , will book in advance next time , only booked on short notice as mum needed to stay near the hospital as she had a operation that day but nice place 🙂

Best Travelodge I've ever stayed in. Great location and the staff are fantastic, friendly and super helpful. Has a super breakfast, car parking on site and dog friendly. Thanks so much!

After leaving the airport my ride dropped me off here. Location is a bit far out for me. Cost a tenner to get to centre of Manchester. The rooms are very clean and a nice shower. Rooms are serviced every day. Worthwhile place to stay

  • 4/5 Mo R. 11 months ago on Google
The rooms are small and they need to do a proper cleaning prior to allocation of rooms to guests. Reception staff was lovely and we parked our car for 24 hours for only £5. Location is great and easily accessible.

  • 3/5 Ed B. 1 year ago on Google
Quite torn on this one as realistically it's a Travelodge so expectations aren't high, but the rooms are really small and felt rougher than normal Travelodge, the window didn't lock (it had a regular bare Phillips screw into the frame to catch the handle closed with just friction... bit more of a problem with this room being above another flat roof), it's right by the hospital so of course there's the associated road noise and the odd sirens. Otherwise it's a good spot location-wise and with parking for facilities on Oxford Road and the Academy, but for anything further into Manchester I'd go for the Premier Inn next time to be at the central end of Oxford Road so you have the option of going into the centre quicker. No baths it seems (would never fit them in the tiny rooms anyway) and could be cleaner.

  • 3/5 Russ B. 1 year ago on Google
The people who run this are extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are small and just adequate. The bathroom is tiny. While the room was apparently clean there was a lingering smell in the bed of the great unwashed. For one night this was ok and the location was perfect for MRI. Car parking cost £5 and was reasonable. The premises let the first class staff down.

  • 2/5 Julie M. 1 year ago on Google
Reception staff are great, sheets had a funny smell like they hadn’t been washed though. Room was dark, dingy & cold. Bedding inadequate.

  • 2/5 Krystyna M. 1 year ago on Google
The room had a wierd smell. The plug socks were far away from the bed. One of the two lifts was broken. The carpets in the communal area needed a hoover. Staff seemed nice.

Very basic rooms as usual, but they are an excellent location for our night out. Every staff member we met was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for a gig at the 02 and the staff were friendly and the room was very clean. We stayed one night booked last minute it's 20 minutes into town via a taxi and 4 mins via taxi to the apollo.

Good value. Basic room but clean and more than adequate for overnight stay. Julian was extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming. Location was great for us.

  • 3/5 Bill R. 1 year ago on Google
This place like many other Travel lodges are the definition of “Basic but clean”. Julian, the hotel manager, was brilliant and really does make you feel very welcome and looked after. Very reasonable prices for a few days in Manchester. There does seem to be some kind of problem with the sewers in this hotel. Another guest who was travelling with me had to be moved 2 times to get away from the smell. Also the elevator was broken, which seems to be a common thing here from reading other reviews. Overall, it was a good experience and the positives way outweigh the negatives.

Having stayed in a few budget hotels in Manchester this is one of the better ones. Close to University, hospital and gig venues. About 25 minute walk into town but there is a frequent bus service that stops close by. Convenient car park for £5 for 24hours. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.

  • 2/5 d d. 1 year ago on Google
Located just outside the city centre, approx 1.7m miles Parking on site for £5 for 24 hours, I found quite reasonable The hotel itself looks nice and modern from outside, the room was very warm considering outside temperature wasn't with no heating on. Wouldn't like to be here during the warm weather The room was in poor condition (302) numerous stains from the previous leak all across the ceiling Ripped bed sheets Stains on pilliow cases and bed sheets Holes in walls with numerous damages to numerous walls No fan or AC, just a plug on heater There are only 2 sockets for the whole room. This was where the desk is Breakfast buffet was OK at best cold food despite eating at 8am sharp Granted, I didn't expect 5* from a travelodge, but staying at numerous previous Travelodges, I expected better

  • 5/5 carole l. 10 months ago on Google
This is a consistently good Travelodge. It's always immaculate. It's a great location, particularly for the Etihad stadium. But, it's the staff that make this place truly amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Manager Julian is a joy. I will most definitely recommend and return

  • 4/5 M'Lee 2 years ago on Google
Very convenient location, the staff were really helpful. Rooms are clean, nicely set up and linen all fresh. Only thing was that the bathroom extractor didn't appear to be working or was extremely underpowered, apart from that, very good stay and I would definitely recommend.
