Solid HI Express: clean, convenient, and good value for money. The room was large and the bed comfortable, although the decor is starting to show some wear and tear. Service was excellent throughout. Breakfast was no great shakes, but it filled a hole. Distance from the city centre might be an issue for some, but it suited us as it's a quiet area and easy to drive to. Buses are frequent and run late too. All in all, a good stay - would use again.

Good chain hotel.. Breakfast is good.. But they serve the same food everyday.. So i found it a little boring. However the food is awesome. The room is comfortable, a soft bed, and a clean toilet... Overall good. Nearly u will find a big park which is an excellent place for children and adults.

My boyfriend and I stayed for two weeks and for the price I was very impressed. The neighborhood was quiet, the staff were all very sweet and our room was neat as a pin. The food was surprisingly good too, especially breakfast. I would happily stay there again.

Receptionist was taking forever to check us in. Instead of asking for another receptionist to come and help she spent ages talking and making small talk at 11pm. The sink in our room was blocked and emptying slowly. Dirt in the shower. The sofa bed had a paper thin mattress which was more like using a duvet than a mattress. The most annoying part of the stay were the cleaners, we put up the sign on the door handle to not disturb, despite that, they knocked and woke us up, we then kindly told them we don't need any service and to not disturb us, the same person knocked again after half an hour or so again.

I have stayed various parts of Holiday Inn in UK. This is one of the best Holiday Inn hotels in UK. My friend and I stayed for two nights. Sadly we have to leave today. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room are big enough and clean. The bed are so comfy. The breakfast were the best compared to other Holiday Inn hotel in UK. I would stay here if and when I next visit Manchester. Location is good if you have a car. It's quiet and car park is spacious.

Friendly staff and comfortable bed. Good value for money. My only grumble is booking.com allowed us to book one room for 3 adults, but Holiday Inn said it should be a max of 2 adults with child up to 15 as the sofa bed is only really for a child. We all still managed to sleep comfortably as 3rd person who slept in sofa bed is lightweight. I don't think it would be suitable for a larger person.

Wasn't expecting this at all from a Holiday Inn Express hotel. Right from the start at check-in didn't felt being welcomed. Staff in general looked fed up and appeared as though they don't want to be working there. No smiles or a friendly attitude. Room was just not a Holiday Inn standard. Carpets were stained, shower had moulds and chair was also stained. Lighting was poor and dim. Room looked tired and needed a update. On a positive note, the bed and pillows were comfortable and breakfast was all right too. Overall a bit of a disappointing experience and would really think again before choosing this brand.

Stayed here for for 4 nights in a twin room with our dog. It had everything you would expect to find such as a desk, chair, warbrobe with hangers, tea/coffee station, television, phone, ironing board and iron, Hairdryer & also plenty of sockets etc. The beds were comfortable with both synthetic & down pillows. Unfortunately, the lighting was quite poor in the room, the bulbs gave off a very dingy orange glow. There was an electric radiator for heat & a while there was no AC, there was a plug in electric fan & the windows could be opened as well. The bathroom had a standing shower cubicle, toilet & sink, with dove toiletries & soft, clean towels. I quite liked that the door of the bathroom could be closed in 2 different positions, so that it either closed in the room completely or just infront of the toilet, creating a private cubicle for it alone, separating the rest of the bathroom to be used if needed by who you're sharing with. Very clever space saver. The location isn't the most glamorous, it's right next to a McDonald's, a retail park with some shops & a 24 hour gym. There is also a park though, which was very handy for us as we were travelling with our dog. Its only a short drive to Piccadilly though & we were actually in town to visit friends living in Reddish so was quite perfect for us but would also be good for tourists who dont mind a small car journey into town. The breakfast was an average buffet, with hot food & continental style available as well. We did experience some issues with the housekeeping & while it was handled quite poorly at first, this was soon rectified by Beata, who ensured everything was sorted out & that we were satisfied. We overall enjoyed our stay & would return again.I would recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere affordable, practical, comfortable, dog friendly & that provides parking.

Average room for a high price from my experience. The chair was marked so I did not even consider sitting down The bathroom was small, service was good until I got questioned about why I'm going upstairs and had to show my card to prove I had booked a room It is in a good location with great parking, chargers in another parking location within walking distance so you can leave it to charge

Room was spotlessly clean. Fan provided due to hot weather. Fantastic and extremely helpful staff on reception, nothing was any trouble. Quiet, good nights sleep..Definitely recommend if this is the area that suits.

This is a budget hotel but one of the better ones. Comfortable beds, clean rooms etc. What did impress me though was the service from the two young ladies on reception. I asked if my room was at the back of the hotel, as its quieter than the front. As they weren't sure, one decided to run up to the third floor to see where the room was located. Now that is good customer service and going the extra mile. As a grumpy old man, I was impressed. They also smiled and were really welcoming. So I'm staying here again, when I'm next back lecturing in Manchester. Well done, reception! You'll do for me.

I have just stayed at this Hotel for one night which was an unexpected stay but cannot fault the service, cleanliness, Staff, Comfort and the very good Free Breakfast included, along with free parking. The little extras that come as standard in your room are all well received and if you have forgotten anything while you are at the Hotel those are free too!! Would defiantly recommend this nice Hotel if you are coming to Manchester for a trip, Well Done Holiday Inn

Clean & warm. Friendly, efficient & helpful staff in every department. Nothing was too much trouble. For the price I expected a basic continental breakfast which was available along with a hot full English. Terrific value for money! Thank you.

Used this location many times over the years. Good clean rooms, friendly staff & a good breakfast but be aware they are now charging £5 for parking. No discount for guests.

Good location for our venue ( The Monastry ) plenty of parking though you do pay a reasonable charge. Has a bar at reception and rooms are clean and a descent size. Breakfast is included and has everything you need without the frills.

I had a lovely time staying at the hotel. The food is good and the staffs are lush I would like to mention Erica❤️ here who helped me get vegetarian meals and helped me with my car issue. Staffs and very hospitable and room service is great too 😊

One of the best budget hotel I've stayed. We only stayed for one night on our way to Scotland. The hotel was basic but clean and breakfast was good. This is a budget hotel but one of the better ones with a friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend this place if you stay a few nights in Manchester.

Nice staff on reception Good location plenty around for food etc Room cleanliness is a bit of an issue went to the toilet for the morning prayer as you do amd was met with 3 large silverfish trilobites which only feed on dust and dirt which made me immediately think this hotel is not a clean place. This is the first time I have encountered such creatures but have read a lot into them since and I am a bit disgusted if I'm honest I hope this infestation can be dealt with as it's a nice hotel

Stayed in better, service was good. Room had empty larger bottles under the bed. Lamps broken Light switches not straight Had to get reception to send a duvet and 2 pillows as they forgot to put them on the sofa bed. A porter returned with 2 duvets instead 🫣.

I stayed here for two nights. The staff upon arrival were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was a nice size and clean. It also had a decent shower too

Stayed in room 327. The bed size was extremely small and the door in the toilet was so awkward that i banged my fingers in between the door and the walls 3 times in one day! And it left my fingers swollen and painful. It is a huge hazard which should be removed. Very dissapointed! Told the staff and i was just given an ice pack. There was also no sockets by the bed which was very inconvienient Overall the location of the hotel is nice and the room size is good. They also gave some freebies for my husbands bday that was nice. Its just not appropriate to leave the hotel with painful fingers which ruined it for me.

Very pleasant experience. Desk staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was perfectly appropriate for the included price, hot, well stocked, and tasty with a good variety of both hot and cold offerings.

Stayed here on a business trip for somewhere to sleep during the day as I am a night worker and I am disappointed in the service provided in the hotel. USB sockets don’t work, no air conditioning just a little useless fan & slow shower. Also got woken up three times by fire alarm going off twice and housekeeping walking in my room whilst I was asleep (surely reception should have communicated this to them)! Overall quite poor

I paid £80 and got a family room and a great breakfast with numerous options. Great value hotel. The room and bathroom was clean. The whole hotel appeared clean, modern and in good repair. Plenty of parking, friendly staff, kept the breakfast supplied and tables cleared and cleaned. There is a bar and snacks available in the evening. Can't fault. I couldn't give the location 5 stars as I can't say what was in the area. I only needed a room for the night as I was passing through. But the location was great for me to find using Google maps.

The bed was incredibly comfortable but the sofa in the room looked like it needed burning...🤣 Staff were very polite. Breakfast is adequate, might be better to go across the road to the McDonald's.

First was in a room with zero wifi, being international this was a problem. After a lot of shoulder shrugs they moved me to a new room the 2nd day. Rooms were sweltering but no top sheet, so sleep with nothing or a giant duvet in the scorching heat. Phones in rooms do not make local (or any) calls. Elevator smells like an ashtray and looks like a rubbish bin, front desk provided a lot of shrugs when asked for help, but not much else. Definitely less than I’d expect from a holiday inn, would NOT recommend

We left a bit late to book a hotel for visiting Old Trafford so this was a bit further away than we would like. However, it is situated off of a main road which meant it was quite with no outside noise to disturb you, with a McDonald's less than 5 minute walk from front door. Staff were fabulous, very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough to help, even looking up car parks for us next to the football stadium. And we were thrilled to see a fan in the room during a summer heatwave.

I was annoyed at having a 3rd single bed made up in our room booked for 2. Reception removed the 3rd bed. The room next door was seeping a pungent unpleasant smell of someone smoking weed. Gave me a headache. Fortunately, we were there for rest and short few days. Coffee and tea scant had to go fetch at the reception who were delightful 😊 and cheerful so that was pleasant. Electric kept switching off. Other than that the rooms were clean and presentable. Option fir room service. The reception welcoming. Breakfast was well stocked and a tasty selection. Handy open cooler to select a snack or a treat or two. Water cooler. Parking excellent was safe in the time we stayed. We do not recommend the local mx Donald's over the road. Rather, go into town. For a bite yo eat.

Helpful staff, commitment to saving environment commendable and unlimited desired). Hotel has some novel ideas such as, the complimentary sachets (coffee, milk and sugar), water at reception, the to go bags and takeaway cups because it means that customers dont have to be asking. However, there could have been more fruits and vegetables (e.g. tomatoes/mushrooms) at breakfast. In addition, customers having to pay for parking after 30 minutes a big disadvantage because this is not something I would expect after paying to stay at the hotel and it is an additional expense. Unfortunately when we arrived at our room, the bathroom floor was dirty. Since we arrived so late, it was too much trouble to report it at the time.

I have stayed here many times in the last few years, it’s always been ok. However, the room I had for my last stay was totally unacceptable. Overall condition was poor, the toilet was disgusting and the shower that did not get hot, backed up through the drain meaning you were stood in hair and fluff flushed up. I did complain and was promised some extra ihg points as good will, but these have still not been added despite being a couple of weeks ago. The food was nice and the staff were good as usual, so that’s why I have given it two stars instead of one.

It was a nice place to reside on the weekend. The breakfast was very good as well as the stuff who attend our requirements and questions immediately which added a warmth to the place. I'd recommend everyone who pop down to Manchester to stay over in Holiday Inn. They really deserve 10 out 10. Ciao

The hotel staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. They are willing to help with anything possible. I had my little dog with me and they helped to entertain her whilst I collected my breakfast. I have stayed at this hotel several times before and it always a pleasant stay but this occasion was special thanks to all the staff. Thank you all.

Standard quality for a Holiday Inn at a pretty reasonable price. There is a McD's right outside the hotel open 24 hours which was really useful especially if you are checking in late. Parking is also free which is great.

Staff very friendly and nice. Great knowledge about gluten free diet 👍 free breakfast 😋 only issue was a cleaning service 4 nights stay and even that requested didn't get service clean. Room could be more clean sofa was covered with stains and topper on kids bed was dirty. One more big issue very hot room, fan and open window couldn't cool the room. Definitely need air conditioner. Apart of that, hotel have great location 30 min from hicks and 15 min from Manchester City center. Close to shops and McDonald's just on the corner;)

  • 5/5 Richard S. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel was really good, staff willing to help (Andrew was very helpful on reception-thank you) and the breakfast was excellent. The area around the hotel is a bit rundown but if it's a short stay then you're probably not too worried. If you need a gym then there's a Pure Gym opposite. Handy for connecting to the M60.

I stayed here for 4 months. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming! It became my second home. Rooms are adequate, location is great too. It takes about 15 minutes to reach to city center via bus. 10/10

I stayed in holiday in for a night, we’ve booked a double bed room, the staff of the hotel were very friendly and welcoming, however the actual room wasn’t good, the room wasn’t clean, there were insects and spider web in some areas of the room. The shower was leaking, it wasn’t really bothering us during the day, however at night when it was dead quite, the noise of the water dripping on the bath floor was very annoying and it made our sleep uncomfortable. Also our room was supposed to come with air-con, but there was only a fan in the room that wasn’t even working, had to ask the reception to get another one, it made our stay very uncomfortable since the rooms were really hot.

Fantastic place, great value super clear rooms, staff always friendly, free breakfast too, big free carpark, if your going to see concerts in Manchester the taxi's don't take long to get you into the city centre and back again, far cheaper then the city centre hotels too, even if you factor taxis both ways in and the cost of parking overnight in the city centre. I'd advise booking directly with holiday Inn for the best prices too. Apologies theatre in Manchester is not far away either, its great for small gigs and comedy nights 😀
