Nice place at a good price, staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. Room was clean and warm. Ideal for the price point.

Very nice place to stay. Centrally located to night life and the many restaurants around. From the train station google directed us towards the canal, it's a lovely scenic walk but if you have a suitcase the cobbled areas make it difficult and then there are two sets of steps to get to the hotel. Alternatively, come out of the station and turn right, cross at the crossing opposite the Hilton, and that road is Liverpool Rd, continue down, and the hotel will be on the left. The staff are very welcoming, thanks to Thea for making it even better. The staff are very accommodating to your needs. Thanks also to Maria, who served us behind the bar. Our room was immaculate. We were on the st side, which can be noisy, but the double glazed windows helped. Although we slept with the windows open, it was fine for us. We were able to use the Y Club with gym, full-length swimming pool, steam, and sauna rooms free of charge. You need a £ coin for the lockers, and towels are provided. Overall, we had a wonderful two night stay and will definitely be returning. In addition, the hotel is chastity run, so anything you but goes towards helping the community youths, which is an added bonus.

Clean, comfortable rooms with a decent shower with an added bonus of using the gym , swimming pool, sauna and steam room FREE of charge. There's an extra charge for breakfast, but the breakfast was decent enough and set us up for the day ahead until tea time. Bar area great for chilling and having a small meeting if needed.

Spent New Year’s Eve here with the best view of the fireworks, the room and bed were huge, nice and clean, canal views etc, our room was directly overlooking the fireworks which was unexpected! Grayson on reception went out of his way to help us when the car park gate didn’t work and he was so lovely! Friendly staff all round would definitely return here

Good clean hotel. Just wished the rooms were sound proofed to a certain extent and they had some soap bars in the bathroom as trying to pump the liquid soap in the shower was hard work. TV in the wrong place to view from the bed as there were no chairs. Fine for a couple of nights. Photo taken from hotel bedroom

Stayed here with my friend for 1 night , Sunday 9th April for an event at Barca. Superb place, excellent value, very central, at the canal basin(I think). Very clean room, tcmf, toiletries in room, plenty of towels, comfy bed. Very secure car park (£14 for 24hours). The young man who checked us in and out was super friendly and helpful....a credit to the hotel....many thanks for a lovely stay ❤️

Absolute perfection 10/10, choose here. Really good breakfast Staff were accommodating, humorous, engaging, and kind. Room was excellent, clean, had everything it needed, and the bed was exceptionally comfy. The hotel is in an amazing place it’s literally right next to the Deangate Metro link which takes you right into the centre of Manchester. Free entry to the pool+ sauna was greatly appreciated. And at the end of everything, this business helps people as a charity. Genuine excellence. Keep up the good work guys, All the best.

Had a really good 2 night stay. Room are beautiful, staff are so friendly and helpful. The parking is a godsend and reasonably priced. The location is just perfect, 10-15min walk from the city centre. The only downsides was TV signal not perfect, complimentary wash stuff is scarce. If you like fitness, sauna and swimming... This is all included in room price... It would be nice to have a reduction on room price for the not so energetic. But.. I would recommend this hotel to anyone

I’ve stayed here 3 times now, first 2 times I was on floor one, gorgeous and spotless! However my last stay I was on floor two, only the bathroom was a bit more old fashioned but the room was filthy!! I had 8 spiders in my room, dust and cob webs EVERYWHERE! Really disappointed as I need a hotel every month for work but unlikely to book a 4th time in case its like the 3rd time again :-( I would like to add every time I have been the staff are so friendly and helpful!!!

Spent a couple nights here for new year. A nice hotel on the edge of the city overlooking the canal. Easy access to hotel and it has its own car park. Very good value for money with friendly staff and the hotel also supports a worthy charity. Overall we had a wonderful trip and have already recommended this hotel to other people.

Rooms are large enough and clean. Drinks are really expensive, significantly more so than in the centre. Location is nice, right by the canal. In good situ for the opera house.

Large room, enormous bed. Complicated shower controls. They don't clean the room unless you ask for it (we didn't know). There was a lot of noise outside from early on. Nice breakfast. Slow lift; fortunately, we were on 2nd floor, so se used the stairs.

The hotel is located near the quiet canal district. Family rooms offer one king-sized bed with a separate single bed for a child. Friendly staff at the front desk, although their office never replied any of my email prior to my arrival. There is also a small bar that shows live football games on TV.

Brilliant for location, price and services such as a spa located downstairs of the hotel. Breakfast is lovely, 11/10, and the chef accommodated my dietary needs with no issue. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff, nice breakfast. But they don't clean the room each day, so you need to ask for new tea and milk for your room, which they are happy to give. Lovely swimming pool.

Excellent value superb location couldn’t fault it booked bed and breakfast and was pleasantly surprised Rooms are spacious and all with tea and coffee and ironing board and iron Breakfast was of a buffet style basic but enough The staff the ones that we came across were all very smart friendly and polite a credit to the management Would definitely call again stayed in Manchester quite a few times and I can honestly say although basic it’s the best stay ive had that includes the midland and Hilton One other thing safe parking for a small fee is an absolute winner

Ideally situated for a walk into centre, but far enough away to not hear the crowd!! A lovely hotel, excellent facilities and a great breakfast. Our room was fine but we have stayed in nicer rooms in this hotel! Can thoroughly recommend.

Stayed for one night visiting Manchester. It was a hot day, the rooms had no aircon and instead of being told that when we checked in; we checked in dragged our bags sweating to the room, walked into the the little oven suddenly unable to breathe; we went back downstairs leaving our salt drops dripping behind us to be told there was no aircon, nothing she could do to cool the room down, it's on the website there is no aircon and no she couldn't refund the room. As I peered over her shoulder pondering what to do I saw 6 little fans sitting on the floor, I asked her what they were for and she said "oh those are for guests who need them" FML shaking my head I asked her for one as she didnt have the smarts to connect the dots that I a guest who is over heating needs to be offered a fan, or else she was just being completely rude (I am hoping its the smarts thing)!! The rooms were a pretty big size and were very clean. However, the bed springs were sticking into our backs all night long, the pillows were flimsy and offered no support, the room was so hot we had to leave the window all night long which didn't help with a comfortable nights sleep wondering who could get into our room via the flat roof outside our window; to be honest we couldn't wait to check out. The only other good thing was the location other than that never again, the end!

Great location, only few minutes walk to Deansgate. I was able to park my car during stay for a reasonable price. Room was a good size and for the price I was happy with the facilities. I like how by staying here you are supporting a charity.

The few days stay in this hotel was very poor. The receptionist was rude upon entry, telling us our room wasn’t ready until 3pm until a sentence later telling us if we pay £20 it will be ready now. Our room was nice but our TV and hairdryer didn’t work and out shower needed to be repaired to use it. The breakfast the next morning was awful and bone cold. Servers didn’t restock food or drink. Our room wasn’t cleaned and we had to ask multiple times for it to be cleaned and the receptionist was appealing in helping and told us it wasn’t ‘his problem’ and said we should’ve requested a clean room! The walls are paper thin and you can hear doors slamming all night. A nice room when clean in a lovely part of Manchester but nothing else good to say about it

Great place, excellent value for money and wonderful service, friendly staff. Wonderful leisure facilities (gym, pool, etc). Fantastic location for access across the city centre. Was also great to hear about the awesome support for the local community so will definitely be staying there again.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! The Staff are so helpful and friendly! Hands down the best hotel experience I've had in years! The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean and modernised. The beds were so comfy too! Will definitely be back again because of the amazing experience we had! Thank you to all the staff!

Had such a lovely stay here. Clean, modern and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming, really helpful. 5⭐ service Set in a lovely part of Manchester with outside seating overlooking Castlefield Basin. Very close to Manchester Science and Industry, if you fancy a visit to the Museum and handy for the Opera House too. Would definitely stay here again.

Imposing sight but not really my thing. It seems to be combined with a gym and pub but not entirely sure. Either way, it was way too busy for my liking. I prefer a calm and peaceful entrance if that makes sense. Especially if I just had a long drive. When I arrived here, I felt as if I was visiting a gym/pub, there were people sitting/standing everywhere. Obvs, this is my opinion. I didn't book a room here but you may like the buzz.

  • 4/5 Richard G. 1 year ago on Google
Great location and fantastic if you are at an Castlefield music event. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. Only real criticism is the bed was a very small double and about 6" shorter than me. That said, I am 6,4".

  • 4/5 Steff H. 1 year ago on Google
I really enjoyed my stay at The Castlefield Hotel, particularly because of the gym and swimming facilities that we could use that were included in the price of the room. I stayed for three nights and it was in a great location for walking to local tram stops and shopping at Arndale. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable. Fantastic amenities in the room like soap and body wash provided by fixed dispensers, a fold-out ironing board and iron, a great quality TV, brilliant hospitality tray with biscuits, coffee, tea and milk sachets. Some extras were missing though, like a bathroom bin, the door wouldn't lock on the room but to me, it didn't matter because the door locks itself anyway and can only be opened with the keycard. The room didn't have any heating or air conditioning controls so it was a bit cold at times but didn't affect me. No plug sockets by the bed. The corners of the bathroom could have been cleaner and more attention to detail in there could have helped but was fine overall. The bed was comfortable, towels were plentiful, I didn't have breakfast but I did see it, and it looked okay, with the usual things on offer. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I love that they allow dogs because I love dogs. The best thing about this hotel too, is that they support the YMCA charity so a portion of proceeds from the hotel stay and anything purchased in the bar etc. has a percentage go to charity. The Y Club leisure centre which we have access to as much as we like during our stay was very clean, had free sanitary products, great facilities, lovely pool, friendly staff and I loved it. I would return to The Castlefield Hotel but I would take an extension lead to have my phone by the bed and warmer pyjamas due to no heating controls.

The hotel is centrally located, the reception staff were friendly, the room was a good size but the decor was tatty with mould around the base of the shower. Noisy patrons disturbed our nights sleep. The buffet breakfast was fine albeit lukewarm.

Staff were very friendly and a good laugh too! Me and my partner stayed for 4 nights and had drinks with the reception and bar staff after a night out!! Absolute Class!! Even sat out side with the head receptionist for a smoke and he brought us drinks too!! Room Was A Generous Size And Bathroom was Beautiful. Can’t fault Pool,Gym or Saunas all a pleasant experience. Will definitely be returning for another long weekend soon!!❤️

  • 3/5 Stuart C. 1 year ago on Google
Staff were friendly and the location is good for GMEX / that side of town. Next to canal basin and has a large outdoor patio with benches and some umbrellas. Swimming pool + gym is in a separate building and is a fitness centre for non-hotel guests but was clean and well equipped - we enjoyed the steam room and sauna after a dank manchester day. Only significant issue we had was that our room wasn't ready when we arrive at ~3pm - had to wait for an hour or so in the lobby. Rooms are fine for the price but the place felt kind of like a basic hostel than a hotel. Wouldn't book for a visiting business guest in a suit but would probably book again for myself.

Great club and restaurant upstairs. Staff are always nice and friendly. Been going since 1979 (old club then new) so clearly a place of class and quality.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
