Was very pleased with my stay at the hotel. Reception staff was very polite and helpful. Rooms were clean with all amenities. Breakfast was great too! Great location too- easy access to many restaurants. Overall loved the stay and would definitely recommend and revisit.

My room is a tad small and has an odd damp-type smell within it. Bed is unevenly springy in certain areas. The telephone within my room to call reception is a bit temperamental, at times I can't hear the other party. You can't cast your phone to your TV (not sure if they've disabled this functionality) although the TV is a good size. There is no bag in my bin so I had to use my own bag to make sure the bin stays clean. The shower gel + soap etc is good. No toothbrush, toothpaste or slippers provided. No on-site gym so you have to walk 8-9 minutes to the gym they're partnered with which is somewhat of a nasty gym. My towels also had stains on them! The room is generally clean and the reception staff are friendly and efficient. Overall, wouldn't recommend.

Loved it here Stayed 2 nights and could not fault it. Food was excellent. Staff very attentive Nice location Would stay again, but next time we will eat out as outside these walls the is a world of fantastic opportunities. Not pulling down the food or service. Just saying the food in Manchester is amazing. Can't wait to get back.

The room felt very claustrophobic as somebody already mentioned - ceilings and door/wardrobe handles were very low. The window being impossible to open combined with broken air conditioning was not a good experience. The staff was amazing though.

Had a lovely stay at the Marriott. From Maryenn the front desk to Liz at the breakfast service, folks were exceptionally kind and welcoming to us. Definitely recommend!

Location isn't great, walls are very thin (could hear every conversation, movement etc from the room next to me. Check out at 12 which is great, and the staff were all very helpful. Over would recommend, it's not fancy but it's definitely a nice hotel

I absolutely love Marriott and this is great Marriott Hotel. Situated in the older part of Manchester city center and along the River Irwell, the Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel is in a perfect place to visit the city center. In walking distance you have great restaurant, the science and Industry Museum, John Rylands library amongst other things. Castelfield is mere steps away. Staff was cordial, warm and professional. Restaurant had good choices for breakfast, drinks and dinner and the river view was amazing. Definitely check in there.

Great location right next to Spinningfields. We had a small work meeting here and the meeting room was really nice and fully equipped with what we needed, we ordered lunch which they brought to our room too. Staff were attentive and super friendly. Nice rooms for everyone and a bar for evening drinks with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of seating. Would definitely recommend.

We have had an amazing stay here. The entire staff have been incredibly accommodating for our 16 month old son. Everyone in the restaurant (shout out to Niall!) and those in reception who gave him a football. We are absolutely recommending this place to everyone and we will return next time we’re in Manchester. Thanks to the whole staff for making our stay so lovely !!

1- They ask you for a £50 deposit when you arrive, talked to them *politely* to explain that it might affect my budget, instead I will pay it when I check out if there is something wrong with the room. They called the manager to come and discuss this with me, I was shocked that he replied “I can refuse your entry do you know that?” !! Just wow!! Prepaid booking for 2 nights in Marriott and the manager says this because of £50 deposit? Very rude. 2- Room is just below average, very old and no lighting! I mean it, NO LIGHTING!! Better Avoid.

Stayed at the Victoria and Albert hotel this week along with colleagues. From the minute I checked in to the minute I checked out, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Check in was very easy, and was welcomed by the friendliest staff you could wish to meet. My room was spacious and immaculately clean. The bed was one of the comfiest I have slept on, and wish I could have taken it home with me. In the large bathroom, I had everything I required - fluffy towels, as well as shampoo, conditioner and body wash supplied. Evening meals and breakfasts were top quality - choice of full English, continental as well as a menu where you could order omelettes etc. Every member of staff I encountered were professional and tentative. I must give a special shout out to Samuel (breakfast) and Georgina. These employees were amazing and a credit to not just the Hotel, but to the Marriott brand! I will most definitely be returning- whether for business or pleasure!

The hotel was great, it had a restaurant/bar that served good food, service was really good. The room was very nice, warm and comfortable. Parking is available on site but you have to pay for it. The hotel is walking distance from the center of Manchester which was handy. Overall excellent and would recommend it

The hotel is a charming accommodation that offers a wonderful experience for travellers. The blend of modern aesthetics with the historic architecture of the brickwork and woodwork created an inviting atmosphere. The location was excellent, situated right by the picturesque river and within walking distance of many of Manchester’s attractions. The location is convenient and provides easy access to multiple shops and restaurants in the Centre. There is a free bus from Manchester Piccadilly station whose stop is a few minutes from the hotel. The hotel rooms were the highlight of my stay, boasting a blend of comfort and elegance while maintaining their historic elements of brick walls. The room was spacious and neatly arranged providing all the amenities one would expect. The decor was tasteful and soothing and the bathroom was spotless. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Breakfast buffet was impressive offering a wide selection of items to suit various tastes. Hotel staff were attentive and courteous, ready and happy to assist with any inquiries or requests. The housekeeping staff ensured the rooms were impeccable during my stay and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was commendable. I would gladly return to the hotel on my next trip to Manchester.

Remember to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a resort. They compare hundreds of booking websites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in this area. I've been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you will love it I'm sure! The hotel is allocated in nice place, practically in less than 10 minutes walking around there are a lot of restaurants, theater, Museums. The rooms are extremely clean, delicious menu and variety foods included. Nice bar to drink a beer. Definitely is one of the most recommendable hotel. The staff was very kindly.

A one night stay due to a work trip. Room was nice and quiet, no issues whatsoever. Good view of the river, good cleanliness, comfortable bed but definitely not pillows (I guess normal for a hotel). Restaurant was very nice though only had breakfast the following morning.

Excellent experience, I booked this hotel very last minute as I’d booked another hotel 4 months previous for a special occasion and found out Thursday eve the booking had been cancelled. I really can’t say enough good things about this hotel, the staff were so polite and lovely, check in was very quick and efficient, rooms were lovely and superb breakfast. Would highly, highly recommend and we’ll definitely return. Kindest regards to all for saving my weekend.

One of my favourite places I've ever stayed. It's a very nice location and rooms don't feel like your typical hotel rooms, rather a bit like a cabin, with its low ceilings, wood rafters and exposed brickwork. The room was tastefully designed and bathroom was of a decent size.

Stayed here for one night. 3 adults in one room which had two double beds. The room was good enough for our needs but not great value at £230 a night. We won’t rush back. It’s not any sort of high end hotel that you’d expect from a Marriott at that price. The staff were great and the room/hotel had character but we felt a bit overpriced. Great location for walking into Manchester though. Easy to drive to aswell. With public parking needed but seemed plenty nearby (extra cost though). The breakfast was excellent. Great buffet style with a cooked menu to chose from too. The checkin was awfully slow, computers they said! But annoying after a 3hr drive. The hotel car park very small and therefore full, so we used New Elm Rd just round the corner, overnight stay (secure inside a unit) cost £15. So good enough but not remarkable enough to rush back at the prices they charge. Biggest let down was there is no fitness room/gym. What you can have is a free pass to the nearby Bannatynes but that ain’t the same.

The hotel canceled our reservation because we arrived 36 hours late even though we had messaged the hotel through the app and physically called the hotel 8 hours prior to arrival that reservations were still good. We only found out when we arrived at the hotel that our reservations had been canceled and rooms given to other customers. completely unprofessional behavior.

I met a friend here, she was visiting from Germany on business. She stayed here and was very happy. My wife and I just ate here. The food was very reasonably priced, the staff were welcoming and knowledgeable about every dish on the menu. I would definitely go again.

Very disappointing. Claims to be a luxury hotel. However we arrived to find a toilet in our bathroom that appeared not to have been flushed since it was last used. Disgusting. The room was pleasant, but soulless, though with very noisy aircon. The view was of a building-site and service yard. To add insult to injury, we were then woken at 6:20am by the beeping of a food delivery lorry reversing into the service yard below our window and taking a few attempts to get in. Needless to stay, we won't be staying here again. Definitely not up to the standard I'd have expected from their claims and the price.

Only stayed one night on a deal break. Lovely spacious hotel, very comfortable rooms, great breakfast. Bit out of the way and lots of building work going on all around so unfortunately was woken at 6am by work commencing. Wouldn't return until building work all done.

Very good hotel. Ideal walking distance to Manchester City Centre. Only issue would be the lack of parking at the hotel but there are good, safe NCP car parks within a 5-6 minute walk. Rooms are excellent and quiet - worth a stay.

Really lovely hotel, cannot fault it. The room was nice and quiet and very comfortable. The bar is nice. The only downside is the building work on the same road which makes getting into the hotel a little tricky, but that's not their fault. Would stay here again.

Manchester Marriot is breathtaking and has a really beautiful structure, it is in the heart of Manchester and connects to fun places around. It has 4 levels of rooms and they serve wonderful food as well. Beside the food area is a beautiful lake that could be viewed and one doesn't have to go outside to view the lake. They also have beautiful places for pictures and a lovely water front.

Excellent, stayed 2 nights as part of a large group. Staff friendly, helpful and efficient in all departments. Best hotel breakfast I have ever had.

Lovely hotel. Check in was predone through the app however a request for a physical key was no issue, staff were lovely and helpful. Nice upgrade courtesy of being a Marriott Bonvoy member to a Junior Suite, which was nice and clean with nothing to be concerned about. Parking is a problem however, hence the lack of 5 stars.. it’s not the hotel staffs fault in any way, more the location of where it is really. I’ve reviewed the nearby car park, just avoid it. That was not a pleasant experience, but if you do choose it, you get I think a 30% discount for staying at the Marriott. Just don’t use the pay later option.

Lovely hotel. Clean and reliable. Staff was uniformly sweet and helpful. The restaurant was good, too, with excellent vegan options.

I stayed here for two nights. All staff helpful and friendly. I went with bed and breakfast and glad I did as all food fresh and tasty. I had a decaff latte and it was delicious. I decided to leave early on my last day and the evening before asked if they could get me a few bananas for breakfast. I came down in the morning and my breakfast was double bagged. Two waters, ham and cheese sandwich, 2 small cakes, protein bar, big chocolate cookie, banana and a nice crisp geen apple. This breakfast was made with care and thought and was exactly what I needed but didn't dream of getting. Staff fab and well run hotel. Thanks front desk and apologies to the house keeper who jumped out of her skin (and me too) when we bumped into each other in the corridor!

This was a very nice hotel. I loved the fresh lobby and interior combined with the original brick architecture of the building. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The only reasons I can't rate it higher is because if you're a light sleeper, the walls are very thin and we could hear talking, coughing, and everything else in our room. Worse I would say is no fault of the Marriott, but the local construction began very early and made it impossible to sleep any further.

Ok beer but has slightly gone downhill for quality of the beer considering price increase. So they need to clean the lines as it fowl taste . ,£5.80 is a bit steep for a staropramen if it's off ! Can't comment on rooms

This is the second time I've been on a work's do here. Beautiful building, situated along side the river irwell. Service a bit slow in the bar, waited 15 minutes to be served , £5 for a double Bailey's. The food was amazing and the staff friendly. No parking, had to pay to use the public carpark down the road. Next year I hope we go somewhere with onsite parking. I would recommend, if you were going without a car.

The hotel is amazing. The rooms were excellent and the location was quite close to the city centre making it ideal. However what really made this trip great was the service. The front desk was manned by Sara who was exceptional. She’s a credit to her organisation and made sure that I book with Marriott in the future.

Don't forget to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking your resort. This site will compare thousands of booking websites and usually will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the most well known in this area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you won't be disappointed. Stayed here for the weekend for my birthday. Lovely, clean hotel & good breakfast. Shops are all a good walking distance, you can pretty much walk everywhere. Parking is easy and simple too!

Spent a night here. Hotel was decent and comfortable. Slightly ruined (2 months later) though by a parking fine. We called the hotel prior about disabled parking. We had our disability badges on display and I put my reg into the tablet on the reception desk. When I called the hotel about the parking fine though they said there was no record of my vehicle. So a £100 fine on top of the room. Nice one! Won't be booking here again.

I arrived after a 4 hour drive. It was raining. Only 1 person on reception. Once I had my key I asked about parking. First come first served on the hotel car park so I couldn't get a space. £20 a day on their car park. Instead they direct me to a NCP car park that charges £35 a day. Receptionist by now is on the phone and ignoring me. I am directed to the concierge who tells me "its Manchester prices". No offer to source anything cheaper. No explanation that there are several car parks within walking distance that are cheaper. By now it's raining heavily. No offer to help with luggage. But staff chatting in reception. I dutifully trip off to Stanley street ncp which I found myself. I was charged over £50 for the weekend. Evidently there are cheaper car parks nearby. If I went again I'd park elsewhere and get a tram in. And I still cannot believe that Marriott with its buying power hasn't negotiated a deal with NCP. The waiting staff in the restaurant were excellent. At least they spoke to me. When I arrived back on Saturday night someone had vomited in reception. This was being attended to however none of the staff warned me or offered any explanation. I was essentially invisible. On check out, reception was busy and the only member of staff at a desk had to go and ask another receptionist to deal with me. He finally came out and took my card and details. He barely looked at me and I felt as if I was not respected. I had to ask him if he wanted to know about my stay. This is a prime hotel and I expect much better service. Reception, welcome and departing shoddy.

Stayed for 1 night as early Christmas present for my mum...trip to Manchester, markets, meal and theatre to see The Lion King. Sara(h) on reception was really lovely, professional, helpful, smiley and friendly. Room was a good size, comfy bed, great shower and side on view of canal. Tea and coffee available, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. This Works toiletries is a nice touch. Paid for breakfast in the morning - great selection, both on the continental and breakfast buffet sections. Also great yo have done cook to order options like the vegetarian and vegan breakfasts, omelettes, poached eggs etc. Only 15 mins walk to St Peter's Square so great as a base.

Nice hotel, good spa and swimming pool facilities. Food was excellent. Parking available and good location to be based for both the airport and city centre. The only thing I would add as improvement area is that the whole place is a little tired.

Stayed for one night for a weekend getaway. It was a very nice hotel - as a Marriott bonvoy member, they upgraded us on arrival which was great. The room was very nice and the bathroom was great and spacious with a massive shower. The bed was very comfortable. The location was very cute next to the canal, but about a 10 minute walk to where everything is at in Manchester so just aware of that. Wish we would have had a meal at the bar as it looked like a good place to eat. Would recommend if you don’t mind being a bit out of the main drag!

Hotel was nice. Lack of car parking. Rooms felt cramped due to low ceilings. Felt clostophobic. Attended a private function the waiting on staff need training. Need to clear tables when people have finished not before. Quite a few people were having there drinks and food taken before they had finished. Even special bars of chocolate which were given to the guests were taken off the table.
