This was my first time staying at the Hotel and this was booked via my business portal. I thought why not, let me see what its like. The booking mentioned free breakfast which was one of the reasons for booking this hotel as I thought why not try a new place? Upon arriving reception hadn't noted me down for breakfast so I informed them via my booking it is there, this was acknowledged at the time but I think due to the timing of my arrival (it being late and me tried after travelling) I assumed the breakfast charge was taken as a security deposit. Personally I think breakfast could be better, have better variety and offer more, if I had the choice again I wouldn't go for it again. (Breakfast is £12.95) The rooms were decent sized and spacious. However, that day was incredibly hot and I had no choice but to open the windows but there's a lot of noise in the area and you can hear the traffic which was annoying. Also, there are no fans in the room, with the weather we have had recently I would've thought this would've been included. Moreover, when discussing my issues they were not actioned and brushed over. Parking was around £14.50 per night which in my view was expensive for an overnight stay only. Most places would subsidise this or reduce payment charge.. Overall, with the other hotels in the area, I wouldn't stay here again, going on the basis of comfort and value for money it don't meet my requirement. With the other hotels in the area that are priced similar I've had a better experience and received more.

Shocking, the stay was booked through Priceline. The Priceline website outlined what the hotel offered when we arrived, but we didn’t get these amenities. This included fridge and microwave and satellite tv. When we raised this with Reception manager, she stated it’s the fault of Priceline for advertising incorrect information and we have to just accept it. Secondly, after a 4 night stay for over £250, the hotels own website stated daily housekeeping. However this doesn’t happen and in fact is only every three days and you have to ask them to do it. We were left without toilet roll, clean towels and dirty bedding until the last day of our stay along with overflowing bins. We had to ask for everything to be replenished and then, we waited and no one came. Luckily the evening staff are amazing and one of the receptionists in resolving our issues. But this was over 1 hour after we asked and I had to go down and collect everything. The carpets were dirty and did not fit the room, cobwebs and dirty wardrobe, one window said you can’t open, one didn’t shut at all. Consumer rights act stages they must supply all as advertised with ‘reasonable care and skill’ Despite raising a complaint it falls on deaf ears. The only saving grace was the amazing breakfast staff and the bar staff. Sadly the bar is now being removed so I would advise you to stay in one of the many other hotels in Manchester. A big thank you to the housekeeping staff, bar staff and the young lady in reception who kindly saved our vacation. You would be an asset to a better tan hotel.

We are here right now in room 325. This room is so very noisy, I admit they cannot avoid the noise outside but due to ill fitting windows, the traffic noise is ridiculous. The whole place creaks, wherever you walk, as does the room upstairs! The bed tends to drag you to the centre, a sign the mattress is never turned, and they are single beds pushed together. There are cobwebs everywhere, and easily accessible to clean, but clearly don't!! The furniture is very tired and uncomfortable. There is some kitchen units but not one glass should you want one to use? 4 cupboards completely empty... very strange? This is the 3rd time over a lot of years we have stayed here, and due to the decline in general maintenance it is absolutely our last EVER stay. When a hotel charges £120 a night on top of nearly £15 a night for parking, there has to be a certain level of upkeep, this Hotel is clearly running on its old reputation and no longer cares for the standards. Pure greed!

Had quite a bad experience unfortunately. 1st of all the reception staff didn't give much info, e.g: wifi password, and after going up to the room, had to go back again to enquire about it. Unable to call reception from the room phones, always giving busy tone so have to physicall go back down. Was given a room with blacked outwindows, no view, and next to a noisy generator that was producing noisy sounds of varying intenstities, so couldn't sleep. Had to go down to ask for a room change After a member of reception doubting my complaint, he came up to listen for himslef. Then I was told that there is nothing thay they can do, no available rooms and advised that I won't be issued a refund as it is not there fault (not sure whose fault it was, perhaps mine for choosing that hotel!) After being unable to sleep, I advised them that i will have to check out early as I am unable to sleep in that noisy room. They then offered to switch rooms, so had a look at another, on the main road, terribly noisy, so couldnt take it, then they said my only and final option would be another room, which was also noisy but not as much (the windows don't shut properly so noise and breeze comes in as if the windows are open, and felt as if like I was camping on the street) Again they declined to refund, and I had no energy to fight back as so tired from lack of sleep. Finally the bathroom was a mess, shower head broken, so in order to shower, have to hold the showerhead, takes 10 minutes for the water to heat up, toilet seat was broken, and the sink drains very slowly. Needless to say felt unable to complain as was tired, and staff were unhelpful and useless.. so will just had to get on with it, but never again. Hopefully might help others avoid this mess, especially light sleepers and noise sensitivite individuals.

We stayed at the hotel on Wednesday 21st for one night, when arriving at the hotel we were shocked at how rude the older lady at the reception was. I have never felt more uncomfortable at a hotel in my entire life. She was the most un-welcoming hotel staff I have ever met. A £25 fee was sprung upon us at reception which was never mentioned in any booking confirmation previously. I give this hotel 2 stars, and this is only for the room. The room was clean and tidy. Apart from that I would never visit this hotel again.

❌️❌️❌️Avoid❌️❌️❌️ Arrived at this hotel started to get my cases out was told by the staff we had to leave the car park as someone had just paid for the spot I was in. However this was a drop off point the staff member wouldn't allow ke to get my cases out he wanted me to go park somewhere else and carry all our stuff over when I told him this was unfair and that it didn't say anything like that on the booking I was told if you don't like it find somewhere else to stay. So we did that and had a lovely night

Second review although stayed here many more times, In my opinion it’s one of the best in Manchester. Staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, location is excellent, price is right and breakfast is wonderful! It’s NOT the ritz, it’s tops £90 a night with breakfast, so remember this, but this doesn’t mean it’s below par. I’m not easily pleased and vocal when I’m not and this place and the staff deserve top marks. Don’t listen to the bad reviews, come see for yourself. 👍

The room wasn’t clean. There was plenty of glitter in the bathroom probably from the previous guest. There was a smell of dirty wet cloth. I wasn’t able to close the window because the handle was broken. It was a problem because the room was by a major road. I couldn’t really sleep because of that. The bath in the bathroom was very high. I don’t consider myself as disabled and I’d never think to ask for a room for a disabled person but in this case I was almost unable to get into the bath. The bed was very spongy, I could feel every spring. Staff at the reception was nice during checkin but not really informative. I wasn’t told where the restaurant is or how to connect to wifi. When I came back to ask, there was nobody at the reception for longer time. I went out and came back hoping to speak to the staff then but no luck, reception empty again. The phone in my room didn’t work so I couldn’t even speak to anybody about problems in my room. As a plus the room was quite big.

Honestly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in UK. Massive hole in the bed frame and mattress missing many of the springs, when I told the lady at reception the next morning she didn't even say "sorry for the inconvenience". She was very rude and unhelpful, upon check in she literally slapped the key card on the desk and that's it. It's common manners when you check in that they inform you about the WiFi password, breakfast times and all the basic info you need. She didn't say a single word. Breakfast was terrible, 8am and all the food was gone, guests had to literally fight over the last hash brown, all this at the bargain price of £12. Despite what their website says there is no daily room cleaning, it's once every 3 days.

When we booked We did not know that would pay for a windowless room and no room service. The room was not made when we were back to sleep the second night. We were told that they clean the room every three days. I have never heard of such thing. After we complained, we had the room done the last night though. I did not even know that It was legal to have guests in a hotel room with no Windows. The Booking of the room was made a few months ago, so there was plenty of time for the management to organize spaces.

Rooms. Very nice. Comfortable bed, extra pillow, iron, hair dryer, drinks stuff, bath & shower combi. Good amount of space. A couple of comments; no air con, so the window had to be left open, and the traffic noise was intrusive to me on that night (other nights it wouldn't be) plus the floor had a ridge which you could easily trip on during the nightly trip to the loo. BUT, my wife didn't so it couldn't be that bad!!! It did have a good desk fan, which helped with the heat. (NB: This is where price comes in! If it was as much as a Premier Inn, it would be 4☆. As it is, its definitely a 5☆ experience!) Service. I don't think any of the staff we met could have been more welcoming or helpful (and cheerful). Excellent. Food. Only had breakfast but this was excellent too. Serve yourself buffet and everything was well cooked / presented and of good quality. Juices and hot drinks were from a machine but still good. English + continental choice. Overall, highly recommended 👌 👍 😉

Stayed one night only recently; the room was spacious with a settee and was quite open plan. We were told that the bar was open 24 hours, but when we came back in the evening to get a drink, we were told that they didn't serve alcohol. We had breakfast the following morning, but it appeared that there was no pork on the menu. We have booked for Christmas (not Christmas dinner) so it's going to be interesting.

Extremely noisy both in terms of street noise and paper thin walls where you think someone has entered your room as you can word for word hear them recounting to their partner what they had for dinner! Was too cold downstairs and too hot to sleep in bedroom . Info misleading too as when you click on the hotel guide info they email you during your stay it says ‘room service is available from 11 am ‘ yet when you ring the number provided they scoff that no such service exists. Breakfast quite good - about a 25 min walk to station . Walls marked, scratched up sofas covered with throws, some mold around shower and brown stains under toilet rim. Would not pay more than 40 quid for this 2 star (feels like) hotel and if you want good sleep and peace stay somewhere else .

I stayed here exactly 4 years ago, and it's definitely been updated since then. I also got an unexpected upgrade, which was very welcome. The room was gorgeous and clean. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. I love the fact that unlike most girls, they seem to positively encourage getting food delivered to the front desk by Uber eats etc. The bar is also open very late! The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Will definitely stay again!!

Spacious room and the hotel is in a good location. Easy walk to the center in 15 mins. Was much cheaper than other 4 star options available when I booked. Negatives, my room was facing the main road and was quite noisy. Bring ear plugs unless you're used to living next to a busy road. Also no air con which in very hot weather could make things tricky and no safe in my room.

Rooms with no windows and the air conditioning is not the best. Further deposit needs paying on arrival and still waiting for pay back after 7 days. Clean is best that can be said. Really disappointed

It wasn’t even that hot and the room was so warm. You don’t want to open a window as the outside traffic noise is very loud. We couldn’t sleep. They did provide a Fan which was nice however it didn’t do much. Upstairs walking, woke me up constantly. So loud and there’s no soundproofing. Sofas were all scratched up, furniture was all in pretty bad condition except for the bed. Woman at the desk was rude when we requested an extra duvet. We were friends sharing a bed for three nights so wanted two duvets. She said they were “fully booked” so no spare duvets but that she would look and put one behind the desk. When we checked later there was none but there was a nice man who rectified this and got us one straight away and delivered it to our room. The room looked nothing like the pictures. It was a maisonette but it was so basic there was a kitchen type area with no utensils, plates, cups anything except for the normal tea tray you get with any room. So don’t expect anything from the kitchen except an extra sink. There were two bathrooms which was nice. This was for the large double room - mezzanine

Cheap passable hotel just outside of the very centre. Awkwardly laid out rooms with poor numbering in the confusing corridors. Carpet in a hotel rooms? No No No. Breakfast was poor value served in a dour windowless basement with a blaring TV. Tinned grainy pears straight out of the 1970s. Relatively cheap though. Overnight hotel parking £14.50. To self describe as 4 star is a overly optimistic.

Arrived at this hotel for 2 night stay, stayed in room 107 was amazed but the sizing of the room. Very spacious and very clean. The bathroom was a little small and was very hard to get in as it was raised a little. On the first night we did find it very hot and had to have the windows open, but it wasn’t very loud when we did have it open. Staff were lovely. Room was very quiet. Wound definitely stay here again as it’s very convenient if you want to go clubbing and city centre is a 10 min bus journey.

A nice place, with clean rooms in a good location. The only thing that stops this from being a five star review is the heat! The rooms are so hot! The window opens very little and there is no fan in the room. The hotel has its own bar and pizzeria and there is a gated parking area for £14.50.

Exceptionally clean and well appointed apartment in a very convenient  location. High quality fixtures and fittings throughout. Very comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly  and helpful.  We would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and family.

Nice staff on arrival. Room a good size . 3 sinks in one room. Really bizarre layout. Fine for established couples but bathroom is open plan to the bed so no privacy if you want to have a wash. There's no mystery there 🤣🤣 bath had a burn in it... sink and bath not draining well so some black sludge came up when emptying. Sofa damaged... floor heavily stained. Water marks on the walls and stains on toilet wall. Floor not clean around the edges. Nice and warm with big windows. Good tea and coffee selection. Bed was comfy but those annoying two beds pushed together with a gap in the middle. Eurgh. Noisy windows and lots of noise from the bar below. We were on the first floor. Breakfast was outstanding. Beautiful food and eggs were perfectly cooked. Good selection.

Decent location, not too fancy, but it does the job considering the price. If you're claustrophobic, please ensure that you do not book a room with the window. The location is great, 10 minutes walk to centre Manchester. The hotel is quiet, and the bar area is open 24/7. Worthwhile

Absolutely horrible place run by incompetent, ignorant, unprofessional staff who are liars on top of it all. Don’t be fooled by photos, the place is nothing like they advertise it. Very dated furniture with stained carpets and bedspreads. The room we booked was freezing and although “management” were aware of it, they didn’t want to offer us alternative, until we said that we are going to book another place( in the middle of the night, as we checked in after 10pm). The alternative that was offered, wasn’t suitable, as we booked twin and were offered double, although there was a sofa bed, which has seen much better times. Wouldn’t sleep on that. When we left, staff assured we will get refund and confirmed that the room wasn’t suitable for stay. It’s a month and a half gone by chasing them and being promised for refund to be processed, only to come to the stage where staff started blatantly lying , that we actually have stayed at the place and won’t get any money back. Honestly, don’t know how they can get such a high ratings as they are absolutely terrible. And customer service is non existent. There are hostels that have much higher standards, quality than this excuse of the hotel. Pity there is no option of not giving any starts, as they don’t deserve even one star.

Great hotel with parking, a great spot within close enough distance of the main areas of Manchester. Paul and his team doing a sterling job looking after their guests. The breakfast is excellent and always on point. Well worth a visit

20 minite walk to the town center so definitely location is amazing. Rooms are good sized, cleaned well and book im was smooth and very pleasant.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Although the bed was comfy we slept quite badly with the noise of people walking around, toilets flushing and noise from the road outside.

Just like in the US, you can expect mediocracy at Best Western hotels. The service at the front desk, especially with the older Indian woman, is remarkably bad and the rooms have paper thin walls (you will hear the other room’s conversations). Don’t be fooled by the nice pics.

  • 3/5 Connor G. 2 years ago on Google
I like this place. The building is nice. Considerately converted. They don’t have any place to eat unless you want literally a pizza so not good for staying for work and the gym that was available is now private so can’t use. They do have parking and the hotel itself is nice. Staff are friendly as well.

the room did not look like the pictures. the bed was lumpy. no tv upstairs like description and pictures shown. charged £80 for a dog we didn’t have??? then charged £15 for the car park we didn’t park on??? do not stay here, worst hotel experience ever. Bland outdated rooms.

Used to think this place was fantastic but haven’t been since 2019. We travelled back in August 2022 and were really surprised by how much it has gone downhill. It’s a tired and shabby reflection of its former self, with dirty carpets and sofas in the rooms that have been scratched up. It really needs to some TLC. Do not be fooled by the pictures online, as they are definitely not an accurate reflection of the current state. We checked out and went to a Premier Inn around the corner. Not worth the money.

  • 4/5 Jim B. 1 year ago on Google
Room and bathroom massive! Lovely decor. Spotless. Efficient breakfast service, central location. Polite professional staff. Because of its central location there will be some noise enevitably because of the nearby road and rail connections however did not spoil sleep or stay.

  • 2/5 Jordan W. 2 years ago on Google
At first glance e the room looked incredible, we had been moved from a room with no windows to a ground floor room with huge windows and lots of space. However, the room was directly next to the entrance hall and the walls are paper thin so we were disturbed continuously. The hot water went off at 8am and we were unable to shower before leaving. Even after informing hotel staff it still took almost 3 hours to be switched back on. Location is okay if you don't mind a walk but it's far from central.
