Stayed 2 nights for a United match - great hotel, very clean and safe - staff really helpful. Car park very good and safe. Very quiet at night. Breakfast good. Whole area really modern and pleasant and tidy. Swans, geese and ducks out back a bonus and nice to see. Definitely stay again (and United won, so all good)

Very clean and inviting. Friendly staff, very patient with my three year old. Good rooms and plenty of communal space too. Breakfast buffet very nice and plenty of choice. Comfy beds and nice bathrooms. Will definitely be back again soon!

Beds too close when sharing with a work mate had to change the layout. Air con started leaking down the wall so told the nice young gentleman on reception and he dealt with the issue in the most professional manner and got our room changed even blessed us with a free beverage top guy!! I didn't get he's name but he had a ear ring and I think a tattoo of a cross on he's neck definitely great at he's job

Ideal location for the quays and exploring the area. There are also plenty of places to eat nearby as the hotel itself is very limited with food options however the staff and the clean rooms make it more than reasonable for a stopover. One drawback although similar in other city areas is the captive nature of paid car parking these days...£7 per 24hrs! Worth paying for a night's stay.

So disappointed and annoyed with my stay here. I live 4.5hrs away from Manchester but had a meeting there first thing in the morning. I had a choice to stay at home and leave at 530am and turn up to the meeting feeling frazzled from the long drive or travel up the night before get a good nights sleep and get to the meeting fresh. That turned out to be a big mistake. I arrived at 11pm, went up to my room which was on the 1st floor, very small and grubby. But I was too tired to care. I went to sleep and was woken up around 520am, by the sound of something in the car park, I got up and there’s a lorry out the front with a guy loading it with around 10 industrial wheelie bins full of laundry. It went on for 45 mins. I didn’t get back to sleep. I went down to reception around 730 and told the reception staff, and his response was ‘unfortunately that’s how it is’! Totally unacceptable. On check out another staff member offered to cover my £7 parking fee but it’s not about the money. The number 1 priority for a business hotel should be an undisturbed good nights sleep so whoever had the idea to load up a lorry at that time needs to seriously review this!

The location was good and the parking good value. We had to move room as there was wet white stains all over the sofa and the room was dusty with legs falling off the table. The staff dealt with it very well otherwise this would've been a 1 star. Breakfast was chaos as we waited nearly 15 mins before anyone came to sit us down. Choice was poor . It was completely disorganised with staff seeming unsure. Wouldn't stay here again it was very tired, and totally not to our high standards of cleanliness.

Have stayed here on 2 separate occasions for work. Staff on reception are exceptional, I could happily say they're on par with with some of the best hotels I've stayed at. The rooms, well.. They're standard Holiday Inn. Both times they've had showers that flooded and didn't drain well at all. The main problem I've had with this hotel is on the first occasion I had drunks trying to get into my room and banging on the door at 3am. Things happen, not the worst but the 2nd time I stayed here there were children running up and down the hallway playing knocky-door run and yelling seemingly as loud as they were capable of doing up until around midnight. When you're staying for work and trying to sleep, these just arent the occurrences you want happening. Staff we're apologetic, but I think this is just the quality of some of the people staying. Won't be risking a third time staying here.

Had a over night stay. Hotel was nice and clean. Didn't find the bed very comfy. Need a better selection of pillows. Parking is not free but u get a discount if u stay at the hotel which is fair enough because of the location. £7 24 hour parking which is reasonable. Views are nice, next to old Trafford stadium.

The hotel is quite nice. Located near the canals. Good base for Old Trafford. About 20 minutes to downtown. You can eat well in The Quays (7 minutes walk). As for the hotel itself, the service was nice. The room was small and.. even clean (bathroom got Dove cosmetics). The price is adequate to the quality. There's a bit of a small selection for breakfast, but we always found something. I think I'll come back for United match.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great location where we could sit outside for a drink in the evening. Disappointed that they ran out of scrambled eggs for breakfast, before 9 a.m.

We would like to say a huge thank you for your hospitality. We arrived at 9 am after long flights. You let us check in, so we had a rest before going out. Also, we had a problem with the window, he gave us new room 😊 They are very nice, efficient and professional. We are so grateful for your hospitality. Thank you so much🧡 Also, we loved your breakfast! 🥰

Friendly and efficient service from Karl on check-in, felt really welcome. Spacious room, Aircon, hairdryer, TV... toiletries on request was a nice touch. Comfortable bed. Short walk to the O2. Right by the Quays, was a lovely evening walk back. Paid parking at an affordable price considering it's in the city.

Initial room (316) was OK, but no TV remote. Asked at reception, took 20 mins to deliver 2, then TV didn't work, had 2 more staff members try and retune the TV - both telling me that "All the tvs in the hotel untune themselves daily, normally you just hit 3 and they retune"?! Finally we were told that staff were going to move our room, all this time our food we had ordered was on its way, and then arrived as a staff member showed up with an aerial wire instead?! Our food sat and went cold whilst the lead inevitably didn't make any difference, before we were then moved room and could finally sit and eat at gone 10:30 at night. However, the new room (314) was not in a good state, the safety lock on the door was missing, the room didn't look clean at all, dusty skirting boards, hairs on the toilet bowl, dirt in the shower tray. All in all, not a positive stay at all

Great location. Tram stop is at a 5 min walking distance only - takes you to city centre. Friendly staff. Parking available for £5 per 24 hours. Rooms are well maintained but slightly old-fashioned. Breakfast is free and the variety of options was okay. Will definitely recommend.

Room was comfy with nice views. The area was busy with sporting events, so Breakfast was a bit of a shambles. 9am everything had run out - plates, mugs, milk, water, fruit juices, bread, pastries. Had to ask for all to be replenished. Also Slow to clear tables for new people to try and eat before 10am cut off.

Good place for a short stay. Great location for Media City, The Lowry, War Museum, Corrie tour etc. Tram stop just 5 mins walk away. Breakfast was included in room rate and was fine, albeit, Sunday morning was rather chaotic with tables needing to be cleaned, food replenished and spillages mopped up. Would stay here again. All staff were very friendly. Loved the Dove toiletries in the bathroom.

The Holiday Inn Express is in walking distance from Old Trafford, the Imperial War Museum, the tram station, shopping mall and bars and restaurants including Nandos. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was beautiful, I would recommend the burgers and pizzas. I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express.

stayed for 1 night when seeing a concert. reasonably priced ( we booked way in advance unsure whether the prices went up) and included breakfast. breakfast was decent it was help yourself and decent qual sausage beans eggs toast etc - bacon was basically raw tho. the elevator was a state, the one that was actually working had buttons missing and even after someone came in to fix it they just switched the buttons around? would use again tho. bar open til 1am however as expected, very expensive. they also do pizza and nachos, we just used uber eats tho.. great views parking was pretty simple, you could pay online easily.

Overall a disappointing stay at the Holiday Inn Express Manchester quays. On check in, there was no greeting or acknowledgement of being an IHG reward member. When were given our room keys, 3/4 were not properly magnetized and would not open the door, resulting on a second trip to the front desk. Room had cob webs, and a dirt line in the shower. Also things in the room and throughout the hotel were not screwed in properly. Additionally the shower drained remarkably slow. The bed, location, and breakfast are the only positives to this hotel. Management needs to step it up here. It seemed like the hotel was extremely understaffed, and who appeared to be the manager came out of the office only to look at the huge line for the breakfast area and small crowd at the front desk, only to step right back into the back office. Really disappointing stay, and property.

Last minute booking for a busy Manchester Saturday night. So paid though the teeth for a room. Plus point. All the staff were great. The girl behind reception never stopped, even helping out to clear breakfast tables, on a rammed Sunday morning. Same for the rest of staff. 10 out of 10 for their efforts. Minus points. Price for one night. 1 of 2 lifts out of order. OK if you stay on floor 1 or 2. But not 6 and 5. Breakfast bun fight, as said previously. It was rammed. Air con unit outside of the room, clicking on and off all night. If it ran continuous that would just be background noise. But stop start, stop start. Made you listen.

The rooms were lovely and clean. Beds comfy. A little inconvenient that the TV has been volume limited to 10 so you can't really hear it but that's all for the rooms. They were generally nice and comfy. The breakfast all be it a full english and continental, I could only eat the scrambled egg and the toast. Wasn't too nice. And the fruit juice that was on offer tasted stale and very watered down. All in all a nice place to stay, but the food was a little disappointing

Fantastic, exactly what you need for a work trip. Rooms were clean and got a good night's sleep. Breakfast was spot on and staff were so helpful. I actually left my ring at the hotel and came back to glasgow, it was found and kept safe for me while I arranged a arranged a courier.

Staff have been amazing. When we first arrived the rooms were not right but the manager that was on on Monday was very helpful and changed our rooms for us 3 times and was very polite. The staff were helpful to tell us about restaurants nearby. Will definitely be back again soon hopefully

Perfectly located within a short walk of the nearest tram station. Staff are very informative and hospitable upon check in. Room was very comfortable and clean. Would definitely consider again when in Manchester largely based on great value for easy access into the city centre for gigs.

For a budget hotel this is perfect. The beds were really comfy, the room was a decent size and the blackout blinds worked. Staff were very friendly at reception and all smiled at all times. Breakfast was fine. No extras and no oat/almond milk but a good array of cooked and cold foods. Location is great for media city and a short walk from the tram into the city. I would stay again.

Good price, nice surrounding for morning walk, small room cleaness average. KEY: paid parking, strict rules, which made me nervous as new visitor to Manchester. My own opinion I would rather the hotel to include the parking cost into rate to avoid the hassle to the guest. parking fee confirmed by reception WITHOUT discount code, just standard rate as of 24 July 2022, like my case, 10pm to 8am = £7

I always book the Holiday Inn Express when I am working because the staff are always so friendly, helpful and accommodating. This one was no exception, lovely staff, clean rooms, big comfy bed and when working away from home this is what you need! They were happy to let me work from their restaurant once breakfast has finished, and got me safely into a taxi ready for my onward journey. Thankyou to a lovely team, you were all very kind and professional

Filthy dirty carpets in bedroom, staff lacked knowledge to assist. We came at 10:30 pm for a drink at bar and only one girl was on the desk who was more interested in her paperwork than guests. We are members and use IHG hotels all around the country never come across this attitude before, Staff need training. The standard of this hotel needs to be raised. The car park payment system needs sorting out for guests - we were given contrary advice from the same girl with regard to the car park, which left us feeling they couldn’t be bothered and would rather say anything to get rid of guests in front of them. If this had been our first experience with IHG it would definitely be the last

Stayed here for a TV appearance. Perfectly situated for the Media orgs all about the place. Staff are responsive, had issues with noisy people outside late at night and tang the reception to see if they could help which they swiftly did, getting the folks to move on. Room and bed was comfortable. Some furniture looked a bit stained hence not a 5 but nicely decorated in modernist style. Good even temperature, clean shower, WC and wash facilities.
