Large, well-equipped hotel. Kind reception staff phoned me when room was ready early. Pool huge with attentive staff and good spa area. Small housekeeping queries answered immediately and sorted. Breakfast spread was super, great fresh fruit and excellent ingredients used. Exceptional service from the lovely Laura, great to chat to, and offered me a fresh flat white from the coffee shop when she thought the machine wasn't producing hot enough coffee that morning. The hotel uses Worker Bee Coffee, local to Didsbury. Highly recommend this hotel for a solo trip, to refresh, recharge and reset one's batteries.

Hotel was in a good location for our needs, staff were all friendly and helpful and the cleanliness and food were all very good. The health and fitness facilities we used were very good and those we didn't use looked very good and seemed very popular. The only negative I had was the room and bed were very small, the only room available to book was a small double room, I assumed it to be a double bed in a small room, it turned out to be a 3/4 bed in a very small room, it has all the necessities (tea/ coffee, en-suite shower room) so we managed for a single night the biggest issue though was the lack of air conditioning which I found unusual for a large hotel with all the spa facilities offered on site.

We stayed in this hotel for one night, we got their about 11am wanted to leave our luggage there and go to Trafford centre. The helpful women on reception said she can allocate us a room already which was great. The room was clean, plenty of room for the night, modern, everything you need. We used the facilities at night swimming sauna rooms and hot tub, they was all lovely and clean, felt like it was really worth the money We paid. Surprised it’s only a 3 star could easily pass for a 4 star. Everyone is helpful n friendly. Had food at night and drinks average price for a hotel and nice food. Had football on the tv. No noise during the night. Breakfast was lovely, possibly the best buffet breakfast I’ve had at a hotel, nice and clean. Food was fresh and warm. Lots of selection of food n drinks. Staff shown us around as it was our first time. Never too busy in the breakfast room either. Overall nice stay, would definitely come again. Thankyou

Average location for a hotel. I guess the gym & spa are nice, but the rooms are quite small and bit outdated. Also, if you're traveling from outside UK and you forget to get a UK adaptor, the reception doesn't have anything to accommodate for a little while (at least they didn't when I was there).

Came with a friend to use the gym and spa facilities. And is probably the best I've been to yet. Had breakfast in the cafe. That was also really good. We had eggs benedict on a potato rosti. Staff very friendly. Would definitely come again.

Great place. The staff in the bar and restaurant are really good, really quick and very friendly. They create a really nice atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. The gym staff are OK but they don't always deal with issues very well and the sauna area is often very loud with big groups of young men talking at full volume, not very relaxing

Rooms are nice, clean and compact. Location: there is always traffic and the accessibility into the hotel via car is narrow but its a nice location overall. Gym: the gym is decent and has pretty much everything, the pool is warmed and usually not packed.

Gym Membership 24hr Access, 25m Pool, with Poolside Sauna, Steam, Jacuzzi, Cardio Floor,, Machine and Free Weights, dedicated Spin Room, Box 12 ( 12x 3min rounds ) interactive Boxercise workout, Bio Circuit (for those who just want to turn up and hit all major muscle and cardio) typically a 50min Circuit based on 3 rounds at your own program level > I like this feature < There's lots of classes, studio, table tennis, onsite cafe - restaurant.. Health Spa which has separate Sauna, Steam, Salt, Hydro Pool.. they are always cleaning and looking after guests.. Membership is reasonably priced vs alternative Gyms with similar facilities except this is also 24hr (Pool closed after 10pm) they offer a 3 month trial Membership with no cancellation thereafter. All staff are super helpful, they offer a plus Membership which gives you 2x guest pass each month and a fresh towel on arrival > 25% discount off the cafe/restaurant.. I think you can get at least 1 free (1-2-1 ) with Membership , they do have PT's and Private Swimming lessons.. etc. Monthly social events and usually some kind of competition ( who can write the best review ) lol. Gym competition i.e Cycling, Planking, Swimming and the winner get a prize! Definitely worth a visit... On the downside the Roof leaks (a lot) when it rains, but I'm sure that's in the works and maintenance 'to do' list, it can get busy... but there's generally plenty of parking and enough work space to ensure everyone gets a workout.. Last last, they also have a Female only Gym! Only accessible via the Female changing rooms!

I mainly go to the Waterside to use the gym. The gym equipment and swimming pool/sauna/steam rooms are great! Good choice of fitness classes, but they get booked up very quickly. There is a coffee shop/restaurant on the ground floor, the menu is varied and good quality.

Had a late check in (2240). Was very well looked after by the hotel. Didn't use all of the facilities (eg swimming pool and gym) because of time constraints but will definitely return in the future

The best thing about this hotel is the staff, so welcoming and very helpful. Room and bed were clean and comfortable, shower was very good, full gym and pool available, I preferred to enjoy the range of IPA on tap. Food was well prepared and very tasty

Great little room, very clean. Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Good facilities too, would stay again

This feels like a premium health and fitness club with a hotel attached to it, almost as an afterthought. The hotel is very basic and, though clean, feels a little neglected and run down. Breakfast, included in our package, covered the basics. The health and fitness centre, however, is outstanding. And the location is very convenient - easily accessible from the motorways and it's a short trek to the nearest tram stop which will reliably and cheaply shuttle you to and from central Manchester. There are also lots of good cafes and restaurants and independent shops in the nearby neighbourhoods. I will definitely be back and use this as my base for exploring Manchester some more.

Nice hotel in the center of Didsbury. The room I had was very small but clean. Good access to facilities like fitness and swimming pool which I did not use. Price performance ratio was OK.

The hotel ceiling is very shallow. The food from the bee restaurant wasn’t so good. Even the hotel breakfast, they didn’t have much selection. Toast/bread slice with just butter…? No cheese/turkey breast slices. Let’s get to the room: The bathroom fan was broken, it was a very disturbing noise. The trash can was broken as well, I had to manually open it up with my fingers wish I refuse to touch. There were no house slippers and the mirror was in the corner and so small I couldn’t see myself unless I stood by the tv which was standing out so I couldn’t see myself in the mirror. Also at Night i was constantly hearing a noise from the ceiling as in the ceiling was about to break down. It gets two stars for the friendly employees and the comfortable bed.

Great stay - we brought an U9 football team over from Belfast and 38 of us stayed here in May. Staff were amazing and location is super. Special mention to Liz (or possibly Liv) who was my dream hotel receptionist in many ways.

This place is awesome value. Top of the range gym, spa and leisure facilities! Restaurants great and the staff deliver 10/10 service, especially Shaun ( guy with the big beard ) I would like to leave a special mention too Finbar the gentleman on the night shift. Nothing was too much.. from exceptional phone etiquette to rapid room service. All round great experience! I will be only staying here on future visits to Manchester! Thank you Shaune and Finn!!!

The staff were amazing. The gym was very good, all great facilities. The pink/purple haired cleaner and her colleague were doing a very good job at keeping the spa clean and like a comedy act. I woke up really early and luckily a lady was working in the cafe from 6am, she was very helpful at that time in the morning and looked after me with a nice warm cuppa. The food was really nice at the buffet breakfast. Dan and Tyler were also really friendly and helpful on reception. The room size was quite small but it was very clean and a super comfortable bed, great for late night exercise too! Overall a great little fitness break as well as enjoying Manchesters night life. Highly recommend staying there and has definitely made me want to visit the waterside again in the future. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing! Can't fault it and the staff! James was exceptionally nice! We came here as a group of 10 for my hen relaxation weekend. Was so good that on check out I booked a further 4 days for after my wedding! The beds are comfy the rooms are immaculate. The spa is AMAZING! Breakfast was perfect. Cannot say a bad word about the place. Thanks so much for an enjoyable and relaxing weekend

Beautiful hotel with fantastic amenities. King room a little smaller than expected, but everything was immaculate and well presented. The room had everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing, and we were even advised if we wanted to take fruit or pastries away, we could be given a go bag. What makes the hotel however are the staff. Never have I been anywhere where the staff have been that friendly and helpful before. Hotels managers should be proud, because the employees are the hotel.

We booked seven rooms as a base for our hen party. The staff at the desk were incredibly helpful and friendly. We checked in 2 hours early and they kindly cleaned our rooms and allowed us access to the spa for 1pm. The spa was quiet and comfortable. The rooms were small but really reasonably priced. Everything was clean and smartly presented. We could have used two bath sheets in the twin rooms rather than one, and the rooms were not air conditioned so were very warm. The hotel were very accommodating and we used the outside benches with our own drinks and snacks for a while before heading into town. The car park was perfect for us to leave our cars. We came in around 3am and there was someone to let us in. All in all, we are very grateful!

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Waterside Hotel and Leisure Club. Upon arriving we were warmly greeted by a helpful and courteous member of staff called Issy. The room we had was comfortable and spacious. The windows opened onto a small courtyard and a privacy curtain would have been beneficial is my only suggestion. The shower had great water pressure and an ideal temperature. We used the spa during the day and coupled with a comfy mattress both said this was the best night's sleep we had in weeks. Breakfast was equally great and the staff worked admirably to cater to all of our needs during a busy time. Especially as some other guests seemed quite pushy to get to the coffee machine! Someone called Red was especially friendly and made us feel at home. Cheers for a great stay and I would definitely return.

Clean and comfortable but careful not to get trapped in shower cubicle- the magnetic closure was very strong. Restaurant very dated and evening menu very poor but excellent breakfast made up for it. All staff were very friendly & helpful. Lovely spa and pool too.

Was staying here for a business trip. Beautiful settings. Nice size pool. Fantastic, spacious, top of the line gym, followed by fresh, amazing food made on premises. Highly recommended & will come back some time soon!

We had a fantastic stay. The staff couldn't help enough, even changed our room for us when we'd had bad nights sleep. Food was great and lovely views across fields and river, we even saw an Otter, clear as day. Will definitely go back. Thankyou to all staff.

Nice little hotel near Parrswood in Didsbury. The rooms are a little on the smaller side. The leisure centre facilities are top notch. There is a lovely pool, hydro pool, hot tub and gym. The on site restaurant was quite nice too although the breakfast buffet was ok but I wasn't mad on the sausages, the coffee was nice though.

Where to start!? Everything from start to finish was 5* service. Staff: to a person all friendly, kind, helpful and Welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble for them- we were incredibly lazy and has a lot of room service- always hot delicious and no trouble at all. Food: wow! I have a lot of dietary restrictions so there wasn’t much I could eat but being the creature of habit I am once I found my dish I stuck with it! The beef cheeks were divine every single time -honestly I’d eat that every day of my life without complaining. So so good -and I loved the breakfast on room service. Rooms: we had a garden view which overlooked the river - it was SO pretty! They provided a tonne of extra pillows for my joints to be supported in my sleep (I easily dislocate my hips, knees and ankles) and extra blankets to use as bolsters the room was fresh and spotlessly clean. Bathroom also -the bath was beyond lovely -I soaked it in for ages! Spa and pool: immaculate- and ultra beautiful and relaxing. husband enjoyed the pool especially. The sauna, hydrotherapy pools and steam rooms were lovely and well maintained. I don’t have a bad word to say about anything -the experience was just superb from start to finish They even left us a card in our room to say congratulations on your anniversary and (very late) honeymoon. We will be coming again and again! It always takes me time to settle down as I loathe change but I settled remarkably quickly for me helped by the staff who were especially kind when I had a little meltdown because of the environment being just a bit too loud and bright-but putting in ear defenders and wearing dark glasses put paid to that problem!

We arrived to be greeted by James the manager who ensured our room was ready. Excellent service. Hotel was lovely and clean and spacious. We had tea, coffee and biscuits. Later we went for dinner Wendy had salmon I had seabass well presented. Delicious food. We had a decent sleep next door a bit rowdy not the hotels fault. This morning went for breakfast. Greeted by Red a very pleasant and helpful gentleman. Breakfast was 1st class buffet help your self service. Plenty of mixed cereals. Wendy had a poached egg on toast and myself a cooked breakfast. This hotel is excellent. Staff are very helpful. Nothing too much trouble. 6 miles approximately from Manchester and the Etihad stadium. Tram or taxi away. There is free parking and this hotel is excellent value and easy to get to. I would definitely recommend the Waterside if you are staying in Manchester and don't want to use your car during your stay. It also had a large swimming pool and gymnasium with treadmills which are available to all residents. We will certainly be returning in the future.

Most of time technogym equipment working. Good restaurant but needs more options. Pool busy at lunchtime but I can access after 1.30pm. Most other equipment in good order. Very busy in prime times.

We had a lovely stay at the Waterside. The staff were friendly and we loved the spa. Nice room, cosy and neat. We also had a good breakfast. Would fully recommend it. V reasonable considering you can use the pool, hydro pool, steam and sauna. Plus the manager called us when we left something behind and was happy to post it to us.

The double room was clean but felt really cramped. The on-suite Shower was nice however the door allowed lots of water to leak onto the floor. Plenty of on-site parking. The pool closes at 10 but the gym is open 24 hours. Overall 3.5

Booked a disabled access room but there wasn't enough space to safely turn my chair in the room. Also the hotel is not accessible due to 2 (small but significant) steps at the front. There are also steps between the disabled bays and the front of the hotel unless you use the roadway. None of the pavement areas are wheelchair accessible. I do not expect to have to arrange access to the hotel by phoning from my car! There is no pull cord anywhere, the bathroom door opens inwards so calling for help is impossible. The bedside light next to the slightly more accessible side of the bed only plugs in as shown. Oh and none of the spa is accessible either Avoid like the plague. Spoke to the staff on the way our and their attitude was "tell us something we don't know"

Awful room, wonky bed, noisy,.food is to the same standard as a weather spoons. They forgot my morning alarm and as I was on a business trip this was unforgivable. I would not stay at this place.agsin and wouldn't recommend. For the money you could find a much better room. This felt like being in a council flat bedroom with cheap decor

I should've written this review much earlier however I was going through a lot in my personal life. I cannot begin to truly thank everyone who helped me even I fainted while using the leisure facilities downstairs. Thanks to Ricky one of the staff members for catching me as I fell, could've ended up with a head injury. To all the staff that came, I wish I could remember everyone's names. I believe Nicky was one of the members who's a message therapist, she gave me comfort and reassurance during this frightening moment in my life while we await for the ambulance. After coming back from the hospital Sophie the manager ensured we had a room despite they were fully booked. Everyone went above and beyond and I can only whole heartedly be thankful. Its a wonderful hotel with amazing staff.

Stayed there before flying from Manchester Airport and also on the return journey. Within close and easy reach of the airport by car. We had a small double room, which was small but well designed (bedside tables, bedside lights, electrical sockets), clean and warm. Rooms are short stairs up or down, but staff will help to carry luggage, if needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was well above our expectations! Will definitely stay there next time we're flying from Manchester.

Metropolitan Elegance Hotel lived up to its name with its sophisticated decor and top-notch service. Our room was spacious, and the city views were spectacular, especially at night. The concierge was incredibly helpful in arranging reservations and providing insider tips. The hotel's restaurant served delectable cuisine. Its central location made exploring the city a breeze. A luxurious and memorable stay.
