Situated
in
the
charming
and
quaint
Wilmslow
Road,
this
hotel
is
truly
something
special.
I
write
this
on
a
noisy
December
night,
around
half
2
in
the
morning,
as
i
gaze
out
onto
the
pleasant
views
of
the
Shell
across
the
way.
'Tween
myself
and
this
landmark
stood
a
beautiful
4
lane
road,
so
close
i
felt
as
though
i
could
reach
out
and
touch
it.
The
noisy
and
chaotic
atmosphere
just
out
side
the
single
pane
window
is
something
one
can
only
experience
first
hand.
Utterly
picturesque.
Although
i
have
not
met
my
neighbors,
the
community
is
close
knit
through
these
paper
thin
walls.
Right
now
in
fact,
to
my
right
i
hear
the
sound
of
the
1990's
era
TV
playing
a
generic
entertainment
re-run
next
door.
Wonderful
to
be
apart
of.
The
culinary
delights
of
this
establishment
have
yet
to
have
their
way
with
me,
although
their
renown
is
shown
by
the
empty
restaurant,
degrading
carpet
and
woeful
decoration,
that
sends
one's
thoughts
back
to
the
likes
of
Pontins.
I
cast
my
mind
back
to
my
arrival,
and
i
am
reminded
of
the
cold
hard
and
wet
welcome
of
the
slippery
stairs,
the
dead
and
uncaring
glare
of
reception,
the
vain
attempt
to
locate
my
room
in
the
rats
warrens
of
the
layout.
I
recall
arriving
at
the
room
to
find
such
delights
as
someone
else's
toothpaste
remains
in
the
sink
and
a
mottled
yellow
stained,
off-white
hand
towel.
So
very
thoughtful
of
my
hosts.
I
had
thought
to
read
a
short
novella
before
my
rest
this
night,
and
was
delighted
to
find
a
non
working
bedside
lamp,
placed
awkwardly
on
the
wall
above
my
head.
A
lot
of
care
and
thought
has
gone
into
this
establishment.
(^^Sarcasm:
it's
terrible
^^)
The
bed
is
reasonably
comfy
though.
