Spa Day. Where do I start? On arrival, the staff were friendly and went through the formalities. Changing room and shower. Cleanliness was poor, dusty equipment, hairs in sinks, showers with discarded tampons on the floor, toilets to be desired. Pool - I got hair tangled in my fingers, there was a dark tied mark all around the water level. The floor was full of black bits. Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna was the same. There was tumbleweed like clumps of dust and hair around the floor and debris in the area outside the relaxation room. Used cups and towels left in the relaxation room. Afternoon tea - the area allocated was to be desired. Floor with bits all over including a chip. Refused to sit in that area. The service was very slow, although the staff were pleasant. There seemed to be more care taken of the gardens than the interer. The one positive was the back neck and shoulder massage was good.

On entering this establishment, I was greeted by a small Irishman who’s beguiling smile disguised the horrors that we were about to experience. Walking to the room we noticed that the décor (woodchip wallpaper, and industrial carpet) has not been changed since Punk Rock was the top of the charts. On reaching the door to our room it was apparent that it had been kicked in a hundred times that the lock was now so loose that a child could kick it open. The towels had holes in them (see photos) , the bath was in need of a clean and had the enamel on it smashed in numerous places (see photos). If you were luck the bed was hard, move a little and you may get skewered with the springs coming through, the divan base was smashed to bits (see photos). The windows had gaps and were dirty with mildew and condensation dripping from them, on the window ledge was a complimentary snack left by a previous inmate (see photo). I am sure there are worse “hotels” but I have not visited them.

We booked a double and a single room. The single room was just a deep window ledge inside the double room with a cutain across it. To climb into it a stepping stool was provided. It was just big enough for a short adult. Had to sleep right next to a window. A disturbed sleep with rain beating against it all night. Room appeared clean. Duvet provided was not adequate for winter. No extra blankets.

Situated in the charming and quaint Wilmslow Road, this hotel is truly something special. I write this on a noisy December night, around half 2 in the morning, as i gaze out onto the pleasant views of the Shell across the way. 'Tween myself and this landmark stood a beautiful 4 lane road, so close i felt as though i could reach out and touch it. The noisy and chaotic atmosphere just out side the single pane window is something one can only experience first hand. Utterly picturesque. Although i have not met my neighbors, the community is close knit through these paper thin walls. Right now in fact, to my right i hear the sound of the 1990's era TV playing a generic entertainment re-run next door. Wonderful to be apart of. The culinary delights of this establishment have yet to have their way with me, although their renown is shown by the empty restaurant, degrading carpet and woeful decoration, that sends one's thoughts back to the likes of Pontins. I cast my mind back to my arrival, and i am reminded of the cold hard and wet welcome of the slippery stairs, the dead and uncaring glare of reception, the vain attempt to locate my room in the rats warrens of the layout. I recall arriving at the room to find such delights as someone else's toothpaste remains in the sink and a mottled yellow stained, off-white hand towel. So very thoughtful of my hosts. I had thought to read a short novella before my rest this night, and was delighted to find a non working bedside lamp, placed awkwardly on the wall above my head. A lot of care and thought has gone into this establishment. (^^Sarcasm: it's terrible ^^) The bed is reasonably comfy though.

Disgusting sh1thole. Manager was friendly enough but the place needs gutting from top to bottom. Door wasn't secure. Minimum effort put in to any work in the place.

This is most certainly the worst hotel actually no I'll extend that to accommodation I have ever stayed in. I know I shouldn't expect a lot for £29 a night but if it were not for the fact that I had prepaid for the hotel over the internet and it was 8pm I would have not bothered and driven the hundred miles home. The room is small, without a toilet or shower, the furniture and décor is tatty and fragile. The carpet is downright disgusting and is making me think I'm going to catch scabies tonight. And to top it all off even with the window wide open it still smells like something has died in here. Wilmslow hotel sort your act out this is the 21st century in a first world country!!!

Quite a worn-down hotel (with a peculiar smell). The booked single room was very below par. A low ceiling strut causing me to bump my head as I walked to to the window and find it would not close properly; this was why the room was so cold. When asking for the WIFI code, I was informed that the WIFI was out of order for the upstairs rooms that particular day. I suspect that as there were no routers installed upstairs, this is always told to the guests. Fortunately a room upgrade downstairs was offered, much warmer and with WIFI access. Friendly service but a very run-down establishment.

I was here with my baby, he now has insect bites on him and nearly ate a rat trap... awful place to be for any family and breaks Almost every human rights there is. Stay away for your own safety and wellbeing, not to mention its full of people who are on drugs or who have just come out of jail. I also saw about 7 rats altogether

Absolutely vile place. Was here for 6 weeks with my mum and siblings. We all have bites over us which has caused one of us to have a sever skin infection leading to hospital treatment. Rat traps down the side of beds. Holes in the garden. Police and ambulances here most nights. Druggies doing what they do outside. Our Food being robbed by other residents. Some of the staff are vile to residents intimidating them. Absolutely disgusting place. If I didn’t have to add stars I wouldn’t ! Not suitable for single people let alone family’s!

ABSOLUTELY VILE PLACE !!!!! Me both my children and partner are currently homeless, and this is where they have placed us, it’s absolutely riddled with bedbugs, and rats there’s rat traps everywhere, all 4 of us are covered head to toe in bedbugs bites, it’s filled with people coming from prison and there’s a lot of drug users. It is not suitable for a family let alone people in general! This place should be deemed as unsafe and unhygienic!!! This place will be getting reported and will be getting taken to the papers. THIS LODGE NEEDS SHUTTING DOWN!!!!!!!
