What a find, a hidden gem for vegans and vegetarians. Cosy friendly cafe with a lovely vibe. Amazing menu with great choice. Husband and I had vegan hot chocolate with squash and lentil soup and a warm roll To finish we shared ginger cake and ice cream which was the best I've tasted. 10 out of 10 to the owners of this lovely cafe They even have a menu for takeaway frozen meals and are taking bookings for Christmas cakes and Christmas Dinner takeout.

Excellent homemade vegan food with some vegetarian options. Very welcoming and friendly staff, high quality food and unique menu. Homemade desserts and cakes. Cannot recommend it enough, I would certainly be a regular if I lived locally.

Stopped in for a quick bite and had potato curry and Buddha bowl. Owners were very friendly and hospitable, food was nice, sensible sized portions and very reasonably priced. I had a beetroot and rose latte which is not something I have ever heard of or encountered before, it had a pleasant yet oddly nostalgic flavour. Overall would highly recommend

What a treat I had today! Wish The Herb Garden was in my town!! Great place, great food and great service! Had a delish cooked breakfast then lingered over a second coffee while I chose which cakes (decided on Lemon & lime and Chocolate & coconut) and which savouries to take away… later enjoyed the Persian pie lunch on my journey back home to N Wales! Thank you!!!

As a vegan, I like to do my research on places before I go to visit and The Herb Garden promised a lot as a vegan/vegetarian cafe. I'd recommend booking if you want to go as we couldn't get a table but we sat in the park opposite. The service was great, everyone was cheery and polite but unfortunately the food wasn't that good. The takeaway menu is much smaller than the regular menu, which we found surprising. That being said, there were still a lot of options and we went for the spicy bean quesadillas and a portion of lentil dahl. I think a lot of vegans and possibly vegetarians will be glad that there's a place that has a load of options and that may sway their experience but for me the food needs to carry a place, not what it offers. I also want to be able to taste something better than what I can cook myself. The quesadillas weren't really spicy. Which you could get away with to be fair, as spice is subjective but they just didn't taste of much and the beans hadn't been cooked long enough and were hard (they were hard, not al dente in case you're wondering 🤣). The best part was the crispy bread. The dahl on the other hand was totally over spiced and lacked any nuance of flavour. Neither thing was offensive, it was all edible but it just felt complacent. It might be that they were having an off day or were busy but I won't be going back. I think one thing being off can be a mistake but two things isn't great as every order needs due care and attention.

I love this place. The staff are so welcoming and there is the right balance between ultra healthy choices and delicious vegan cakes. This time I had the Buddha bowl and the dark chocolate and raspberry cake. I wasn't disappointed. The coffee is also wonderful! Thanks.

Delicious food at great prices! Friendly service! Only downside was that it was super busy so try book ahead for a table if you can. There were also a good selection of vegan treats to try for desert.

Lovely little place that also caters well for vegans and my daughter was very impressed. Soup, wrap, tofu dish, two nice pieces of cake and three drinks (elderflower cordial, raspberry milkshake and water) less than £30. Friendly staff and pleasant lunch except for the other customers with yapping little dogs!

What a lovely gem that we stumbled upon. We had the special of Vegan Leek, Potato and Cheese pie. It was lovely. There was also a great selection of cakes. The service was also great. We will be returning!

We've always enjoyed excellent, freshly prepared food at the Herb Garden over the past 16 months. Interesting new dishes appear together with the tried and tested favourites. The home made cakes are pretty special too! We, along with friends and family, are always made to feel very welcome by all of the staff, service is very efficient. Highly recommended

This is a warm and welcoming café that we visited on a recent short trip to Buxton. We chose the lentil and vegetable pie with steamed vegetables which was delicious. So too was the blueberry cake and homemade biscuits. It was a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Thankyou.

Delicious lunch - we ate outside at the front. Very friendly and happy to make 2 toddlers welcome. Definitely check out the specials, we had two of them. Satisfying, wholesome food.

I had a very tasty vegan burger at a very reasonable price. Really nice owners and a good variety of vegetarian and vegan food, which is very welcome in the tow. I'll definitely be going back.

Lovely little cafe. The food was great for a lunch time bite to eat and the staff are friendly. Highly recommend.

The reviews wer great but my burger was small and my health drink “the yellow one” didn’t taste like the fruits that are apparently part of the recipe. It seems to be a popular place and I love vegan food - but I was not impressed. Gonna go and get some food now…

Came here one day after stumbling upon the sign on the main high street, and so glad I did. The atmosphere is so lovely and welcoming, the staff are incredibly accomodating and friendly. I'm naturally quite shy and I felt no anxiety in here. The food is tasty, the vegan options are extensive, not to mention such a good price! I decided to come back since I loved it so much and even though they were busy inside, they moved a table from outside in, just so I could avoid the tempermental weather. They went above and beyond and seem to genuinely care about what they're doing here. I cannot recommend this place enough! Cafés like this are a dying breed, it's truly a gem and probably one of my favourite little establishments I've been to in a very long time. I wish them all the success as they truly deserve it.

Terrible bland tasting coffee served lukewarm. Very small cup for a costly price. Porterhouse cake rather dry. Food on display did look very appetising.

I came across this lovely cafe by chance, what a find. I had the most delicious wholesome meal. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The food and drinks are superb. I will be returning soon.

Excellent food, good choice, good value and friendly service. We had a soup of the day (Morrocan Spiced Chickpea and Courgette), a halloumi goodness bowl and also ordered a portion of dahl to takeaway. All were delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also had the comfiest high chair for our 1 year old! Would highly recommend and would definitely return if in the area again.

Popped in at lunchtime, and fortunately I was after food to take away, as they were packed! The café is tiny but beautifully kitted out, and the menu provides a whole range of veggie and vegan options at reasonable prices. The staff were absolutely lovely, and we ended up with two spicy bean quesadillas to eat as we walked. Just the ticket! Next time we're in Buxton, we'll definitely aim for a sit-down lunch.

Lovely little place with a pleasant atmosphere. Good service and really lovely food. While the portions look small, there is enough to feel satisfied. The prices reflect this as well, i was certainly not disappointed. In my opinion these represent sensible sized meals and a welcome change from other places that give more quantity over quality.

Such a gorgeous find on our trip in the peak district this week! We were on the lookout for some vegan lunch to bring on our walks for the day, the coronation tofu sandwich was to die for. The couple who served us were so friendly too, can't wait to return back :)

What an amazing find! Lovely atmosphere, super friendly and a great choice on the menu. We had a vegan all day breakfast, coffee and vegan cake and it was all fab. Great prices too. Can't wait to visit again!

Absolutely superb, no other words. Homemade cheeze and onion pie, fresh steamed green beans and kale, homemade chocolate and avacado torte served with vegan vanilla ice cream. What more could you want? And the coffee was really good too.

Wonderful friendly find. I had the Buddha bowl and the homemade cranberry and pecan cake which was delicious. 1st time visiting Buxton and visited by the reviews. Definitely not disappointed and would recommend it. A lot of choices, so something for everyone. I’ve put a review on Tripadvisor 👍

What a lovely little cafe! Tasty homemade food and delicious cakes. We took a 2 year old in and he was very well catered for as were we. Very accommodating, friendly and we really enjoyed it, will definitely be visiting again 😊

Highly recommend booking to avoid disappointment as there are limited spaces. The venue is small and cosy, food selection was great with many vegetarian and Vegan options for main meals and deserts. You can take away hot or frozen food. Staff were very accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Dogs welcomed too.

Excellent selection of vegan food and great service. Reasonably priced also. We had the African Lentil and potato stew from the specials menu. Great flavour. Also red lentil flatbread, cakes and drinks. All very good quality. Well worth a visit.
