Authenticity isn't the forte of this establishment - pad thai was way too sweet, Chicken wings were dry and over-salted but the squid is worth trying! The squid was tender and had an amazing crunch. They didn't have a few dishes that we wanted to try (Don't know why - have seen other reviewers also complain about this - maybe it's a supply issue). Overall good service, sub-par food but pretty interior.

Amazing food, I love the giggling squid chain, and a different experience at lunchtime to dinner and I recommend doing both. The main restaurant area is large and open with quirky decor, which makes it a little noisy on a very busy service but it adds to the atmosphere. I had the chicken Satay to start with a sharing plate of pork dumplings. For main I had paneang curry for main with sticky rice with sharing plates including chicken pad Thai, charcoal noodles and sticky chicken which was amazing. Don’t take my word for it, take yourself to one of the chain and you will ditto what I’ve said. PS friends had the squid dishes and they said the battered salted squid was amazing to start. ⭐️

We looked on Google maps for vegan friendly restaurants in Bath which were different to burgers etc. We came across here & popped in. We were given a choice of seating & chose a nice window table. The decor is nice and light. The staff were very friendly. For the starter we had the cubed belly pork which was lovely. The vegan starter was the spicy mushroom larb (served cold, very spicy & very tasty, the flavours were WOW). For the mains we had the Lamb shank in a lovely sauce & coconut rice. The vegan main was the Thai green curry & sticky rice, both excellent & packed with so much flavour. For dessert we had the melting chocolate pudding with dairy ice cream & Irish coffee. A gem of a restaurant in the centre of Bath

Our first visit to this chain. An excellent meal, unfortunately all 3 of the courses I wanted were not available however with so much choice they was plenty more to tempt me. We had prawns and moo ping? to start. Prawns were fresh and spicy the pork was tasty. Had lamb shank for main the curry was delicious husband had pork cheek which was tasty but could have been more tender. The Star of the meal for me was the roti, it was so good I could of eaten several more to mop up the masaman. Desert was black sesame ice cream which was truly delicious. Service was wonderful and we felt well looked after. We will definitely visit again at our local branch.

It is one of the amazing places if you want to explore some Thai cuisine. It has a great Ambience & plenty of food options to choose from. You will be able to find both vegan & non veg options in the restaurant. The food was super tasty & delicious. The place is lit up & uplifts your mood. Taste wise the food served hot & yummy. It's one of the best Thai places I have ever tried. The cost is not very high. You can definitely give a visit to the place if you are looking for Thai cuisine.

A quick weekend break to Bristol and Bath....and the first time in this "squid"!! Impressive building and very grand and spacious inside. Just as good as the Bristol one. It's a step up from Pho.....especially the prawn crackers....which are out of this world....( and not like plastic ). As was the Massaman Lamb......wow....so tasty!! Loved it all. Service was super too. Quiet to start off with but soon filled up with friends and families....and lovers ❤

It was just OK! I decided to take my friends to try Giggling Squid Bath for the first time, but I have been here many times in the past. The food is always inconsistent, so, I take one more chance because of the beautiful building, charming interior design and menu choices. However this time, hopefully it's a one off. The food was OK, nothing to write home about! The service was very slow, there were plenty of staff and it was not even busy. We were actually not rushing at all but couldn't find anyone to come to us from start to finish. It was embarrassing for my friends. I don't know what I was fussy about. Sorry this is based on my experience and I won't be returning. Hopefully, they can improve this!

Really tasty and diverse selection of Thai cuisine bordering on haute-style presentation with ample portion sizes at reasonable prices for any hungry traveler. Gorgeously decorated interior with open-air feeling. Manager and waiting staff were super friendly and accommodating. Very clean bathrooms.

Visited for the first time this week while away celebrating wife’s birthday. Main restaurant wasn’t busy but they had a party of 50 downstairs. Despite this it was amazing. From being greeted by friendly guy at the door who I assume was the manager to the different staff who took orders cleared table and brought food and drinks all were exceptional. We couldn’t have had a better experience and the food was amazing. So glad to have one opening in Cardiff soon so we can come more often.

The restaurant was bustling and the staff were welcoming. The wings were full of flavour and succulent. The one bite salmon was a little too complex for my undeveloped taste. The crispy slow cooked beef was a revelation. My daughter’s(3) peanut sauce chicken skewer was “sooo good, delicious and scrumptious “ My table neighbour said they also felt the food was good.

The Giggling Squid does not disappoint. It is really good Thai food in a lovely setting. The prices are pretty reasonable and the food is yummy. The salt and pepper squid is chunky and nice. The chicken satay is delicious. The sticky chicken is my favourite dish. And my wife raves about the coconut rice.

Had a really good experience. Although it was full, we got our order in less time. Lamb shank Massaman was really tasty. The noodles were good too. And the red curry was the best. Will definitely go again.

Food was really good, and nice wine. Starters came out really quickly but over an hour between starters and mains (and the restraunt wasn't full) We asked for chillies but didn't have any in the dish, and we had to wait a long time for side plates so I ended up going up to ask. Food itself I cannot fault, however I think the portion sizes are quite small for the money.

This restaurant is really wonderful. We sit inside the cage, of which the decoration is amusing. The thai style foods are really tasty and well-looking. Services are also 5 stars even though I visit them during Sunday lunch peak hour.

We booked a table for this restaurant and enjoyed the food very much, although it would have been even better with a few minor tweaks. First off, even though we booked a table, it was not ready when we arrived. Secondly, having ordered multiple dishes to share, the plate we were given to eat our own food off was so small you could barely fit anything on it. I’m thinking they have used a saucer by mistake, though looking around other people seemed to have the same issue. Thirdly, the downstairs seating area could do with some love and care, because upstairs looks so much nicer and seems to have a much better atmosphere as a result. I hope this feedback helps make the experience match the delicious food.

Extensive menu with lots of interesting and unusual dishes. What we ordered was delicious and there is plenty more I'd like to try when I come again. Jaew Beef Tips starter was divine. Royal Fishing Boat Curry scrummy and the Chubby Cheek pork melted in the mouth.

I gave this restaurant a go today knowing it’s a Thai tapas type of restaurant which I didn’t expect it to be very authentic like a traditional Thai food. And the food indeed felt like a ‘Thai-inspired’ restaurant catered for western palate. The location/place was great, the service was good, the food was alright. Though, the Tom Yum is nothing like an authentic one, very sweet rather than sour. Overall, it was okay but I definitely preferred an authentic/traditional Thai restaurant.

Went as a party of 4 for dinner on our first night of a weekend in Bath after the restaurant being recommended by friends who have dined there before saying it was the best food they had tasted outside of Thailand. So, was expecting great things and boy did it deliver. The sharing platters as starters were amazing, So much flavour and the presentation was top notch. The mains were out of this world. I had Pad Kee Mao it was so good I bought the cookbook to replicate at home. Everyone in our party couldn't say enough good things about the food. The guy serving us was brilliant, great personality, fantastic sense of humour and nothing was too much trouble. Also had a beautiful Buddhist watch ( you know who you are). If you get the chance go, it's awesome. Just make sure to book in advance.

Beautiful & relaxing atmosphere, pretty good Thai foods, very inexpensive I say, we love the Tapas Lunch Set only around $14, filled us up, loves the Squids.

We had a wonderfully tasty lunch at the Giggling Squid. I'd never been to one before, but was very impressed at the quality of food and array of flavours. Staff were friendly and efficient and the decor was phenomenal. Will definitely be back!
