First let's start of by saying that we had a lovely holiday and what a fantastic location to stay at for walking either as a family, on your own or as in our case with the dog. The location was incredibly quiet the site basically dead, be aware there are no facilities on site it's not that type of place and quiet hours are in effect after 10:30pm so noise is kept to a minimum, security is very visible especially as it's such a small site you see them regularly so we felt very safe. On arrival we had our gate code sent to us as we would arrive after the reception was closed and this allowed us access to the site, we were also told which lodge was ours and where to find the keys all very efficient. On entry, the lodge was very clean and welcoming, there was cleaning stuff on the side to use, along with dishwasher tablets which was a nice touch. All the stuff you would expect such as pots and pans were available. Only downside was all the wine glasses and regular glasses were plastic and this isn't very nice to drink from, I understand why it's done from a practical point of view though. Some downsides were personally the hot tub wasn't hot enough I am unsure what temperature it was as it didn't have controls for this probably to avoid guests messing with the settings, also the hot tub had quite weak jet systems and didn't seem very premium overall it was nice enough but not the best we've used. Alongside this I assume due to the location of the lake and surrounding areas there was many flies and bugs buzzing around the water which made the experience quite annoying. The hot tub could of easily of had an awning over it also or some type of gazebo because the weather is always unpredictable up north. The chairs outside weren't all in great condition and although this didn't effect our stay you would expect things to be better looked after and in good condition. Another annoyance was the lack of hoover and I understand not everyone wants one but as we had a dog we prefer hoovering even a cheap one would be desirable but I guess this is just us. The single beds were extremely uncomfortable for adults maybe fine for children but could easily of had an update. Finally a shower curtain and somewhere for the shower head to be used in the main bathroom as this made the use difficult, water often would go everywhere. I would definitely recommend a visit as the negatives are personal preferences in a lot of cases but something I wanted to highlight just incase you do these holidays regularly like we do.

Stayed here for a pleasant 3 nights. Had to leave early due to personal reasons! We stayed in a luxury pod right by the lake. Pod had everything you could need (except maybe a toaster). Highly recommended.

Really lovely site set next to Dovestone Reservoir and close to plenty of super walks up the hills. The site has Glamping pods and spa Lodges with a lovely hot tub. They are very comfortable with all the home comforts and mod-cons. The grounds are very well maintained and clean with the exception of the squirrels throwing their nut shells down from the trees! Would be 5/5 if check out wasn't at 9am! Bit too early so we ended up rushing around, 10am would be so much better. Would return again though as it's a nice location.

This was a surprise for my birthday, we had a party of 6 and the accommodation was spacious with a stunning view. The tent had a log burner and came with all the items needed, towels, toilet paper, pots pans, microwave, hob & fridge, would love to of had a longer break. I personally did not meet the team of workers on site but would like to thank them all for the cleanliness of the site. Would love to come back again.

Lovely holiday park. Sally and her team were superb and very professional. We stayed in one of the glamping pods. It was clean and suited us for the couple days. The environment was very quiet and calm when we were there(Easter weekend 22).Felt safe as well, frequent checks were done by security around the site. There's lots to explore in and around the area. The local Tesco is just a stone throw away. Our son enjoyed himself and that was the whole idea. Will visit this park again.

You need to definitely visit this place if you like a good hike, absolutely beautiful, so many places to walk you can walk for miles, climbing the hills to the popular trinnicles or the Indians head which people have travelled far to see. it's such a peaceful place and everyone you meet are so friendly, it's a must visit

Excellent holiday park. Pods are nicely designed, nice and tidy. We stayed there for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Such a lovely breakaway and retreat. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and it was central for all the travelling we needed to do. We had one internet shortage towards the end of our trip which was a bit frustrating but didnt actually impact on our break and the fact that we had wifi at all had been a bonus in the middle of the rolling hills. Thank you for such a lovely trip

Myself and my partner stayed for a long weekend and had a lovely time. The lodge was beautiful, the setting was idyllic and staff and customer service was brilliant. It's a really peaceful place to spend a holiday in and the lodge was spotless. The hot tub was lovely and well maintained every morning. The guest book was helpful with all the information you needed and the beds and bedding were really comfortable. I also appreciated the tellies provided in the living room and master bedroom. The only constructive criticism I would have (which is the only reason I've given 4 stars and not 5) is there needs to be a lot more lighting on the park as it gets very dark and it's hard to see and can be a security issue when you consider how secluded the area is. I also didn't see any security patrolling the grounds at night which feels unsafe and I think there needs to be a code or fob system on the fence you can walk in and out of. There were also some things that were not provided but we were told would be such as tin foil, extra bin liners and board games but we would definitely return for another holiday.

Lovely lodge exactly as described with good hot-tub nestled in beautiful scenery. We booked this very last minute just to get away for a weekend and found plenty of interesting things to do nearby, including visiting the town from Last of the Summer Wine and Britain's longest and deepest canal tunnel.

A lovely 4 night stay at Dovestone Holiday Park in a secluded spa lodge. An absolutely stunning location where the park is based and Dovestone reservoir is an absolutely beautiful location with stunning views and beautiful hikes all around. It's in the very doorstep of the Peak District so easy access to many other locations for day trips too. Amazing staff, especially on departure day as largely snowed in and help was there clearing road out and giving a push when needed so all appreciated.

Just had a fantastic 4 nights here, our party was aged between 7yrs and 88 years. We had a pod by the Lake and a spa cabin. Everywhere was so clean, the hot tub was cleaned daily . The surrounding area was beautiful. We didn't get to do the walks we had planned as the sun was shining so brightly but we thoroughly enjoyed our staycation

Nice place to stay. Just one thing, the sat doesn't recognise the road, and you go straight past the turning. And you end up the moors. Great location Nice and clean. Hope to go again in the summer, with more of the family.

The park was very organized and safe with security check all the time Pros: The cottage was super clean and nice with lots of facilities The sofa and the table chairs we comfy The hot tub was nice but there was no control of temperature and get bubbles strength Nice area quite and peaceful with lots of parks and nature around it Cons: Although the cottage was super clean inside but outside not that much clean with spider webs on the windows and cottage signs The single beds were very uncomfortable couldn’t sleep well all the days The temperature control of the cottage is not working and we couldn’t sleep well all the nights because when we open the clothes dryer in the bathroom the cottage becomes very hot and we couldn’t sleep well We took the lakeside cottage and payed extra for it but the lake view but very tiny and we can see the lake after going outside the cottage and there are a lot of barriers between us and it .. They should make that clear on the site

The guides inside and around the park are out dated, some of the rules we ended up following wasn't in effect anymore, finding our after speaking to a member of staff, there is only a small window of opportunity to speak to the receptionist since they are not open for very long. The holiday park seems to be design more for a weekend away and not for a week away evidence being of this the fact that the week I was there I was alone in the park for the entire week.

Amazing from initial enquiry to checking out! Sally was great answering all of my questions by phone and email. We stayed in the cottage which was simply beautiful, with everything you need on your holiday (bbq, fire, dishwasher, bedding, towels, fully equipped kitchen, huge fridge freezer) We're already trying to figure out when we can return!

Lovely place to stay, been here a few times. Great location and setting. Nice walk around the reservoir and near to Uppermill for shops and restaurants. Could do with a shower curtain in the bathroom (or similar).

Only thing I had a small issue with was the temperature of the water in the main bathroom. It wouldn't go hot. Other than that it was a perfect stay. Lovely facilities a little home away from home.
