Eccles in Salford branch is awful. Went in there yesterday and got two goldfish for my well established pond. The young guy didn't seem to have a clue about fish but thankfully I do anyway I noticed on the tank that it said the fish were under quarantine so I said to him can you sell me these ones and he said yes they are fine, gets them home and sits the bag in the pond before they are ready to be put in . My other fish I have had for over a year and no issues . This morning I have got up , gone to feed the fish as I always do and noticed some floating dead. All 8 fish were dead . Now the staff are lying and the guy is making up a story saying I had told him all my fish had already died previous to going in , absolute lies . If I was trying to swindle them out of a few fish why would I say that ? Absolutely disgusting and rather worrying that they have people like this working with animals and customers .

Staff on the floor massively knowledgeable and helpful. Then went to pay. A lady in front was discussing her pet for about 15 mins with the person on the till without buying anything. Waited patiently and then asked politely if I could just pay for my items quickly. Staff rudely refused and said he was dealing with this customer. Won't bother going back.

I have used this shop many times for my canaries and they have always been helpful and friendly, even when they are really busy. This weekend I purchased Guinea pigs and Josh could not be more helpful if he tried and not in the way of what can I get you to buy but the welfare of the guinea pig and what it needs. Highly recommend.

Left after seeing poor animals living in tiny filthy enclosures and fish in half empty tanks where the water was dirty with dead fish floating in them.

The staff here are brilliant! Very knowledgeable and such lovely people no matter how busy they. The store has really benefitted from the revamp and is always well stocked and tidy. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

Excellent pet store. Staff friendly and helpful and I was given advice on what eye gel to buy for a hamster. His bedding was in stock too. The animals in store were well looked after. All were clean and had suitable cages and all had food and fresh water. I have visited a few times now and would recommend this pet store to anyone. My hamster loves his bedding.

This is a good lovely shop it's that big you can't go wrong it's got everything you could possibly need for your pets

Called in today Friday 1pm ish, took my stuff to the till,nobody there,rang a bell which was there,waited gave a few more rings,then decided to leave my stuff and go.Badly staffed store.I have decided to edit this review having read the company's reply stating they would like to investigate this further, I did email them and it's been well over a week and no reply.Therefore I can only presume the reply to my initial review was merely cosmetic and they don't really do customer service.Thankyou.

There were dead fish in the tanks?? Also the tanks looked filthy and far to small for the number of fish in them. Unethical and vile.

Took our pup for his 2nd injection here the staff was pleasant gave our little guy a quick check over and gave him clean bill of health. Did a little shopping whilst there they seemed to have a good selection of products for many forms of pets and the store was clean and tidy we would of stayed a little longer but wanted to get our little fella back home, it's just a pity it isn't closer to where we live.

Great pet store at reasonable priced items. A lot cheaper than pets at home and the animals that are here that are for sale look alot more looked after then they look in pets at home. Lots of different choices of pet comforts and lots of bargain deals. Every pet owner should pay a visit.

Staff are always friendly, easy to find items in the store and well stocked. I visit every month to buy dog food and look at the fish 🐟 you can save money and get discounts joining the Pet Club.

Called in today and the fish tanks were in a terrible state. Dirty glass half with no lights and a number of them not for sale. This a shame as when I first started to go in they were excellent. And the fish in good condition.

Always friendly service. Lots of stock available and animals in store. They usually get new hamsters etc every Thursday and they're available that Sunday! Lots of selection of brands and good prices

Lovely staff in the Eccles store, really helpful and friendly. The lad on the till checked whether we were ok getting the bags of cat litter to the car and helped us load it all onto the trolley.

Filthy and way too small enclosures and dead animals in tanks. Absolutely shocking. Staff don't seem bothered about the welfare of animals when I spoke to them will be reporting the store.

Have been there today for the first time was thinking about buying birds...so unkind there was a man there he should definitely be a racist. I said hi can i ask....he looked so unkind and did like he got a call and turend away the phone in his hand wasn't ringing at all! I went away couldn't buy anything as it looks like they don't want to see non British peaple there. Very upset don't know where to go elsewhere . Shame

Been using Jolleys for about 2 years now, mainly for my cats but I have also bought fish, plants, etc for my tropical tanks. Usually the lads are great in there especially the young lad I think his name is Oliver. I haven't used Jolleys for fish for some time now until yesterday when I was served by a new girl I hadn't seen before called Stephanie (supervisor, so her badge stated) from the off she was very abrupt, straight away she started to question me about my tank which I don't mind but she made me feel like I was someone without a clue, I've been running tropical fish tanks for the past 5 years. The service goes on and she is just so rude towards us and continues to be abrupt. We finally get served and I must of stood at the till 5 minutes plus whilst she messed around on her phone and eventually we were served. I got the fish home opened the bag to start floating the bag and the smell from the water out of the aquarium was vile, like stagnant lake. Luckily they have survived but how dare she question me like I don't know jack **** about fish and care of fish when you have them sat in water like that. I stopped buying fish from here after they kept dying within the first 24hrs. There is literally never any staff on the floor and it's not like it isn't a busy shop, there is always people looking around for staff or a que builds up and they are waiting 20minutes because other staff and sorting someone with an animal or advice. I won't be returning to this store again unfortunately and I hope things do change.

The shop has definitely gotten better over the last year. Wish they had more stuff for amphibians or reptiles though!

Manager was helpful when asking about flea treatment. Animals appear well cared for too
