Excellent service! The food was delicious!

Decor is simple and quaint. The oxtail for dinner was good but could have been better. Breakfast was awesome!

I am a frequent visitor to the Mandeville Hotel as I travel to Mandeville often for work. My most recent meal was a huge disappointment. I ordered the coconut crusted fish with steam vegetables and mashed potatoes. The meal took approximately 45 minutes to to prepare, which I assume is because the chef typically cooks to order. Imagine my surprise, (and horror), when I took one bite of the "mashed potatoes" and realized they were from a box! Tasted like NOTHING except water. Completely bland and flavorless. This makes no sense at all. Irish potatoes are cheap and readily available. And it takes no time at all to cook/mash them, especially relative to the time taken to prepare the fish from scratch. The lovely waitress stated that all the patrons complain and that she has reported the complaints to no avail. I spoke to the manager who promised to raise the issue with his higher ups. I would advise the hotel to reconsider the use of boxed mashed potatoes given the reputational damage. Especially in Manchester where such produce is readily available at an affordable cost and given the heavily Jamaican clientele. The food otherwise is good so things like this really stand out.

Ordered the chicken didn't like the flavour. That's a subject issue. The service was satisfactory. However, the meal left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It should be noted that I have been there for workshops in the past and the meals were good. Probably they had an off day. If not they need to change the chef.

Great tasting Jamaican cuisine

We’ve been going to Mandeville hotel bar from High School days. Friends have had their sweet sixteen parties there etc. After having a frustrating time finding a restaurant in Mandeville at 6 PM on a Wednesday, we arrived at The Arches, and the amazing server, accepted us, and stayed with us after closing time. She’s a 5 star server, and the hotel is lucky to have her. She seated us, served us with smiles, she even played the birthday song for my brother as I’d told her it was his birthday; outstanding! The food was good, well presented, and we felt cared for. I’ll send an email to the manager with your picture, lovely lady because you deserve the recognition. The food was okay, but my main gripe is the fact that the bartender is in the habit of not giving back change. Irrespective of how small the change is, he should make an effort to give people their change. In the event where he doesn't have any change, atleast say something to the patron, as there are some of us who actually look at the principle of the of the situation. It says a lot about the person professionally. It Seems like I am gonna have to make sure that I walk with my change whenever I patronize this establishment. Management, please sensitive your staff on the issue of giving change to patrons, as some of us work diligently for our income. Furthermore, I am positive that I can't shortchange you when I am paying for a beverage or meal
