Had the opportunity to stay here for a night on May 16,2020. Wonderful staff customer service was amazing. Kerry the young lady that checked us is made sure we were comfortable. When google maps give you the direction when you get there google will tell you the destination is on the right, it is actually on your left. Enjoy.

Our stay at the Mandview Hotel one month ago was memorable and fantastic. The Hotel was well kept, the breakfast and the scenery in the mornings was breathtaking. The ambiance of peace and tranquility. Miss Marica and her staff went more than above and beyond to make our wedding a memorable day we and our friends and family will cherish forever.

Lovely view! Nice room, lacking AC. They have a ceiling fan but that doesnt give much air in this summer heat. Opening the windows mean you will have the blinds banging and hear the wind whistling all night long. They do give daily cleaning which is good. The ground however didnt feel all that clean so wear a slippers. The room was spacious and came with a table and chair, TV, fridge, no microwave. You also get a hotel soap in ur room but that isnt replenished if you are staying more than one night. Parking is available and area is safe. Breakfast is lovely and area is clean with friendly staffs. Would recommend going and will be going back.

I stayed at the Mandeview for two nights while visiting the area. The Hotel was an excellent place for a short stay. The room was clean and spacious and the view outside the room was amazing. This is a great hotel if your just looking for a place to stay while seeing the area. The price was very fair given the quality of the hotel.

The owner Stefano is cool but this is a place to go if you are stranded and need a dirt cheap place to stay instead of an expensive resort.

Expensive and Hot. EDIT* Sir, it doesnt matter if I reviewed unlogically. Sir, the fact is, this is here to give you a jump in your service. Although I wasnt there. I pass there everyday. And it looks....like somewhere were I dont reccomend. Please stop accusing me..its not necessary. Atleast say, Thank you for your review, although you werent a customer. C'mon man! Arent we all Jamaicans around here? Sorry anyways. But I still dont know how it got 4.6 on Trip Advisor! Those tourists and past-stayers are mad. Rate the place properly.

I have stayed at the hostel for a week, back in 2015. The place was clean and welcoming, with a massive front door to make all the guests feel safe during their stay. The hostel owner was friendly, honest and helpful- since he is living in Jamaica for years now, he had good recommendations of where to go, what to see, and how to address Jamaica.

Quaint, quiet and on the lower side of charming. It is a good place for meeting/conferences, stop_overs for business trips or a day or two of sock-tumbling. The rooms are average. The same goes for the cuisine. One thing for sure...you won't go away with a vow never to return.

This is a quiet, elegant hotel with superb customer service. There is an array of authentic Jamaican breakfast served each morning prepared by an excellent chief. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying there again on our next visit to Jamaica.

Our stay at the Mandeview Hotel was memorable!. Ms Myers and her staff offer a home a way from home stay neslteld in the hills of Balvenie Heights. We originally booked to stay while visiting for my girlfriends wedding. After looking at the location my girlfriend decided to have her wedding at the hotel. It was a quiet intimate wedding which Ms. Myers and her staff pulled out all the stops to make the day quite special. The hotel staff met all of our needs, no request was too much. The kithen staff accommadated my son with his dietry requirements, the food was excellent !. My son and I travelled back and forth for a month during our stay in Jamaica and we found our stay to be so comfortable everytime. My son just automaticallly went to the same room everytime we checked in. The friendships we forged during our stay will stay with us as one of our memorable vacatons. Thank you to everyone at the Mandeview!

It's an okay place. Not really an ideal place for a long-term vacation because there's nothing much to do. In my opinion, it's suitable for a 1 or 2-day conference meeting.

First let me say that the view was awesome. However, it wasn't easy finding it. When we got there, the guy at the reception area was not friendly at all, responded to questions with sarcasm and did not show much interest in finding us a room we would actually like. He showed us 2 rooms which was not all that so we just called it a night that we needed somewhere to lay our heads because the travel was hectic and it was already late. I opened the frig door and it literally fell off in my hand, there was an old toilet stored in the closet area, the doors do not open well...I have to call my spouse to let me out when I'm finished using it and it is a bit ridiculous that the opening for you to enter the shower is at the end where the toilet is, forcing you to climb over the toilet and scraping your foot on the edge of the shower door. Apart from that guy, everyone else was fine. The breakfast area was fine, the waitress was polite and friendly (she is definitely a keeper), breakfast was delicious, the receptionist that took over in the morning was much better and she refunded us $1000 for the inconvenience and the rudeness of the first guy. Honestly, the guy is not good for business, so either get someone else or retrain him. He has absolutely NO customer service skills! His service was unacceptable and I doubt I will be trying Mandeview again or recommending it to any of my friends, family members or customers who ask for recommended places to stay in Jamaica!

Amazing host who cooks for free if you bring him the ingredients. If not pay him for ingredients and he will shop and cook for free... and he knows how to cook. We were rained in when I was there, so happy I ended in this hostel where the hos was so nice

We stayed at Porty Hostel in January 2017. It's a HoStel, no typical Hotel, but it provides also a double-room, we rented. Porty Hostel is located direct in Port Antonio, so you have the full feeling and sound of a bustling town (exept car noise). The owner Stefano and the staff Michelle (housekeeping/kitchen) and Chris (nightguard) are awesome people. It is quite clean, but you can not always wipe after all guests. Porty Hostel is for young and open-minded people, who like to come in contact with locals. The breakfast including free coffee or tea ist okay for the price. You can make free coffee or tea during the day. We enjoyed our stay at Porty Hostel. Blessings from Switzerland to Stefano, Michelle and Chris . ;)

(Translated by Google) The hostel is a good bit outside of Port Antonio in a better residential area. From there you can get to the most important points of contact in the area very quickly. The hostel itself was very clean and Stefano the owner was super nice. He was very concerned about the well-being of his guests! The price was also super cheap. Overall great value for money!

Great hostel. New location right next to Boston Beach. Very clean and in a quiet neighborhood but close to the beaches, blue lagoon and reach falls. Owners are super friendly and helped me out with everything. I got a flat tire on my motorbike and they went out of their way to get someone to pick me up with a truck and take the bike to Puerto Antonio to get it fixed. Small hostel with good family vibes, def. reccomend.

Easy to find, clean surroundings. Something to mention is that this place is a dorm setting , you will be sharing sleeping space with others. However its a very friendly atmosphere family-like chilling. Also be prepared to park on the street.

(Translated by Google) Very nice hostel, if you do not ask for much. Stefano and chris are super nice and will help you with any problem. The private room was simply furnished, only the ceiling light was a bit too dark, so you saw very little in the room. 1 night we unfortunately had a few kakalaken in the room or in bed. Great atmosphere there. The hygiene could be a little better but still we would visit the hostel again at any time.
