It was a good experience studying at this university. It's not like other schools though. It has rules and guidelines you have to go by. My advise, before applying it would best to familiarize yourself with these said rules. Makes no sense complaining when you get there as their standards are outlined clearly. Simply put, do your research before you apply.

A peaceful environment with lots of learning options. A place to mentally relax while studying. Very beautiful but forces you to exercise if you are not mobile. Lots of steps, lots of walking, but a very refreshing environment.

Firstly, they're expensive. They give you a whole bunch of Christian courses to do, the teachers I had are always absent especially for my law class we have 1 class per week when it should be 2 (didn't get back half my money for that). Also, I know they're all about including godly teaching in their courses but forcing students to do devotions every class not knowing their position doesn't look good but they're always saying they're not forcing their religion onto you (Christianity is my religion but am just saying). Also why the club fees and am online, make it make sense please. Personally I think some of the lectures here need to go to a teaching workshop because the structring of questions on the aeorion system is not it... multiple choice questions be having the same answer for C&D like which one is it? Is it the one with the full stop or the one without one (not an English class btw) ? Also telling us to read chapter 1 before coming to class and then questioning us on it the following class is not teaching (A lecturer did this for the whole semester.)

I love this school. They care alot about their students and always keep us informed. What you get away with here you cannot at other universities, meaning they are compassionate and assist you as much as possible. Everyone will have challenges, that's life, so anyone can make it here

You are basically paying to be abused. Nothing is worth giving up 4-5 years of freedom only to gain a degree that is not even worldly accepted. The staff has no respect for students and all they want is your money. Not to mention that you are basically treated like a child and have little control over your finances. Don't be fooled by those expensive jackets or ties. If you want to give up your privacy for an education then apply but if you want peace of mind RUN!!!!!

All they want is your money. I did some courses and never had a failed grade. They gave me two FAs for missing two final exams I wasn't even financially cleared to do. I was always present for classes and did all the assignments not matter how costly it was. I asked them to drop the courses in the same month I started because I found out I wasn't going to be cleared and they would not let me. I also did a petition before the exams to do them at a later date when I get financial clearance. I have to be jumping through hoops to see if they will let me do the final exams as they can't even find their records because I went to the different departments. There wasn't even a good course outline for the course and none was uploaded on system. Still there is no course outline for them. The teacher was always late or absent. If I haven't completed three (3) years I would be over NCU. I did everything by the books and yet here I am. Money don't grow on tree where I come from.

They are not compassionate for a christian institution. They do not care about the students as well. It shocks me that it is the almost a year into the pandemic, and no changes were made to assist students. Instead, health insurance and club fees were raised without telling students to look out for that. I do not recommend this school because they hate their students. Imagine not going to school or clubs but yet paying the cost. Lecturers who don't care yet we have to pay expensive fees. We are home and they did not decide to cut the fees to help people who are struggling financially. It shows how they lack compassion for others.

Northern Caribbean University should have a main Reception Office where visitors can easily access information for all areas of the campus. If more of those who are meeting visitors and even other workers could move from the "can I help you" to the "how May I help you" and get up from behind their desks while asking things would appear much more business like. Every person in frontline position should, by attire and speech be saying to a person visiting, "you are welcome here." Telephone usage must be improved. Answering the telephone and closing a telephone conversation certainly make us attractive or unattractive. Best wishes for this noble institution.

Excellent university, especially for those with Godly principles who wants to send their children to a Christian school. Impressed by their health stance also. Vegan and natural diet oriented campus. No external foods on campus.

I went there for a year for nursing and it was a really good experience. The university isn't the best when it comes to entertainment but the ambience is great for learning and meeting new people. I don't regret going there, I got the exercise of my life going up the steps and hills there.

I did my BSN completion/upgrade with NCU via Kingston Campus. It was overall a good experience. I had to make the trip to Mandeville for some courses; which I did in summer semester. This is a religious institution so once you respect their values etc you will be fine. They spoke about Ellen G White alot which is fine.I did not know who she was prior to attending. I am a pork seafood eating baptist went there as such and still is.. Most tutors seemed be interested in the students success, while others sadly because you did not regurgitate what was said gave you a passing grade despite your hard work. I must say thumbs up to the records department. I requested my transcript to be sent to WES for evaluation and it got there within four weeks. No issues...

Other than the people/community being pleasant. Northern Caribbean University is not an ideal place to pursue studies, unless your focus is theology - in my opinion. No encouragement of internationalism or student creativity/individuality whatsoever.

I strongly believe most people who write positive reviews on NCU has no comparison to work with or was never a student of this place. firstly UNPROFESSIONAL LECTURERS. INABILITY TO COMMUNICATE WITH HEAD OF DEPARTMENTS. LACK OF RESPONSE FROM STAFF RUN DOWN CLASSROOMS DEPLORABLE RESTROOMS UNEXPLAINED FINANCIAL CHARGES MANDATORY UNRELATED COURSES AND MORE WHICH I CAN'T REMEMBER RIGHT NOW Personally I would not recommend this university to my enemy. If you desire quality education and experience, apply to UWI, UTECH, UCC, KNOX, CTC, CASE, BETHLEHEM, EDNA, GC FOSTER OR ANY OTHER.

I was a member of the first group of students to graduate as NCU from WIC. My experiences were mixed. As far as education, I appreciated everything I learnt even when it wasn't related to my course of study. My teachers/ lecturers were all top notch except for one I'll never forget who told me I wouldn't amount to anything because I missed the deadline on dropping his class and still tried to fulfill the requirements for the same. For the years I spent it was fulfilling. It allowed the building of great relationships and opened my mind to possibilities, some of which I have explored. I had a major disappointment after the end of my time there where I requested a transcript in 2010 to take advantage of an opportunity in Japan I was told I have a great missing and even though I resolved it, I thought by showing them the official transcript I had along with my degree. I am yet to receive that transcript or is the company that requested it. I'm sure things have improved since then but still leaves a lot of what ifs for me and my professional development. As stated before all in all the school helped make me who I am today for better or for worse and I would still attend again if I had to do it over.

An accredited University offering a wide range of accredited programs in Psychology, Science, Performing arts and religion. They uphold standards of Christian education and are involved in many extra curricula activities. They promote the development of Christian values and attitudes and encourage responsibility through there programs. They also have a cafeteria that caters to persons who eat vegetarian food on campus and around the town of Mandeville. Friendly and helpful lecturers who seek to promote students achieving the highest level of consistency. Truly an amazing environment. Take your education to a next level by enrolling with NCU.
