Mess located near Cheluva narayana Swamy temple, Melukote. Food is good, you get full meals for 100/ 1chapati, and 1plate rice and 3spoons Puliyogre and a spoon sweet. Another option is you can ask for only Puliyogre or sweets. You can buy Puliyogre powder which famous and good taste. Parking space for 4 wheelers is pretty tight, but somehow can manage. Hand wash is just near to parking, and to eat food, multiple table and chairs available. Near toilet as wel there is a chair :D Puliyogre powder , pickels, different powders available in front shop, also you need to pay lunch amount after eating on same shop.

When you are In a place where every sq meter there is someone selling Puliyogare, people often search this mess and eat. Sweet Pongal made of jaggery is good. This is close to temple, ample space to sit if you are tired. After you eat there is whole lot of condiments to shop. I have seen them peeling huge chunk of raw mangoes for pickle and thokku making. Genuine place. Not just a trader, but makes traditional dishes.

The hotel is good. Food is really nice. The owner himself will suggest you the dishes to take. Quantity is ok to share to try more items. Sheeranna is their bestseller . A must try sweet dish. I liked the idli too. You need to park a little far for four wheeler. You can try the retail items too. However you can have nice lunch also here as suggested by the owner.

It is a must visit hotel in Melukote. I tried Dosa, Puliyogare(the very famous dish here), sweet pongal and ksheera Anna. All of them tasted yummy. Quantity was relatively less. Outside the hotel is shop from where we can take away few food products for home.

The place is located very near to the temple. It's really an amazing place for authentic home style 100℅ brahamin food. Took special meals, which consists of unlimited chapati, one cup of PULIYOGARE, SWEET PONGAL, white rice, one type of type of dhaal and tamato curry, one side dish, two types of pickles and happala. Sambar, rasam and finally curds. This place has a separate fan base. It has a shop where they sell snacks and especially, PULIYOGARE & sweet pongal. Dont miss to take the parcels.

Good and simple food. This mess is in the lane and has quite a bit of seating both inside and outside the building. The dosas are good, but the highlight are Puliyogare and Sakkare Pongal. Plus, they have a small shop where one can buy snacks and various pickles. Cash and phone based payment accepted here.

My visit to subbanna mess was a delightful journey through the flavors of South India. The quality of food, and the attentive service all contributed to an exceptional dining experience. If you're a fan of South Indian cuisine or simply looking to explore new flavors, I highly recommend giving this mess a try. You won't be disappointed!

Food was descent, pricing is on little expensive side not justifiable for the mess in a village. Not wanted to take risk trying out not so popular eateries here, so visited this place. If i visit 2nd time, will explore others for sure...

If you are in Melkote, please have your meal here. We saw FoodTV reviews and had breakfast there instead of en route from Bangalore. Really worth it.

Divine experience of savouring prasadam style food. Puliyogare, a top-notch, flavoursome item has more punch than the regulars, particularly their aromatic tempering of mustard seeds, fried lentils, groundnuts roasted in till (sesame) oil mixed with jaggery topped with fresh curry leaves - Dil maange more! & gives a feel of temple 'prasada'. Not to miss their jaggery pongal - lip-smacking, wow! Overall, a delectable food experience particularly after darshan of Lord Yoga Narasimha & Lord Cheluva Narayana. All visitors coming to Melkote, this is a must visit to a modest & homely outlet.

Food is very delicious and fresh. Charges - 130 per person. Home made South indian food cooked and mess is owned by Brahmin (as per board). Food is served on banana leaf which is tradition in South which I loved most.

Puli yore(small box)- 100 ₹ Sakkarai pongal (small box) - 140 ₹ Puli yore paste (small box) - 120 ₹ They said that the paste is consumable for 5 months minimum.

We tried Puliyigare, Sakkare Pongal and curd rice (mosaranna). Food was very tasty, though for many the puliyogare might be a bit spicy. Pongal and curd rice experience was like eating home made food!! Prices are reasonable. Place is hygienic and well maintained, considering the continuous inflow of patrons. Do remember it is a mess, not a hotel. Experience will be similar to having food at marriage halls, but cleaner than most of them... We had to wait a bit for curd rice, but I realised it was because it was being freshly prepared. It was really worth the wait.... My friends tell me they run a hygienic, industry scale kitchen, though I haven't seen it myself. They also sell puliyogare mix, pickles, happala, sandige etc. My friends tell me the breakfast options are really good as well... Will definitely come back for more!!

Read raving reviews about this restaurant which is supposed to be over 100 years old. Visited this place while visiting Melukote. Food taste is quite subjective and one needs to get used to it. More so when you are from another State. We picked up Puliyogare and two types of Chakkara Pongal. All tasted good. Preparations of all the items are very different compared to the way it’s made in temples or homes in Tamilnadu. Example- one will find coconut pieces added in Puliyogare. A different experience.

I was having big expectation about puliogre but it wasn't that great. But the ghee jaggery Pongal was very tasty and one must try it. Price is reasonable.

Quantity is very less. Dry Puliyogare with added cashew nuts. Appala is not good. Don’t miss Beladha(Jaggery) pongal. Average hotel, just an hype. One time visit.

Veg dinner meal costs rupees 120. Which includes 1 chapati and rice with curries, beetroot palya, papad etc along with sweet pongal and puliogre. An extra cup of sweet pongal costs 40 rupees. Very good quality of food compared to the cost.
