One of the widest and gorgeous waterfalls in India! The sight of the very wide to very small streams rushing down through the trees and so on is beautiful. I think August is the best time to enjoy the wilderness of the waterfalls. During August, all major dams open after heavy rainfall. View points maid by tourism department is ideal to enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls. It ensures safety of every visitor.

My last visit was on the first week of April. Even at that time many waterfalls where active. I would say It'll really beautiful and serene during the monsoon. They charge Rs 20/- for car entry. Large parking space is available. There is stairs to climb down to the foothill of waterfall. But when we visited it was closed halfway. Rs 5 per person is charged to get down halfway too. Well you get slightly better view from halfway gallery. Not much activities though but kids will be happy to see so many monkeys there.

Important: if you are following Google Map, Mysore Road exits are incorrectly shown. They are off by 600-700 feet. You'll see the exit coming, but Google Maps will show it's 700 feet away. Take the exit when you see, don't fully depend on the map ! It's a bit of staircase walk up and down. So elders will find it difficult. But coracle ride, having fresh fish fried on roadside shack on a winter afternoon has its own charm.

View from the other side was awesome, can spend sometime here with family and friends. You can reach here and cant go near and bath on this falls, ticket is 5 rs. But on other way you can bath in the river and nature beauty. It is too crowded on the weekends. Can take some photos on this view, relax for sometime in evenings

The place is so awesome it's around 100 km faraway from Bangalore main city, less crowded, but there is monkey issues you can get food and eat near to falls, while entering 10rs for parking after going near to falls they will 5rs for second view point where there is two spot there to take photos and to view falls closer and when we went there the 1st view point is closed. I think that goes more near to water. But the tourist place not well built it's normal one. No big restaurant's near by till I saw, if you want to take bath we need to stop 1.5km beyond falls. Some fish fry shops and other small shops will be available. But one thing the falls and nature really awesome to watch.

One of the best waterfalls in Karnataka. Best to visit in rainy season as there will be more water. There are 2 view points here. Both give us an amazing view.

It's a very beautiful place to visit. Especially early morning.💯 We went on our bikes to visit the place and it was one amazing experience. Totally worth all that back pain. Everyone definitely need to visit the place. At least once in their lifetime.

It might be a great view point during the rainy season as the water flow would be great. There is an entry ticket of Rs 30 per car. You can enter only after 9am. From the entry gate you will have to drive about 3 to 4 kms. They have entry ticket of Rs 5 for each person to get down the stairs of around 100 steps to have a closer look at the falls. There is no toilet facility. I only saw a board but the toilet which I thought was supposed to be was locked.

Nice place to spend time but since there is no rain for a long time now that's why the water is less and you won't feel the rain fall much there but definitely once the rain season starts it will be a great scenery view and feel. We reached around 10Am it was sunny hot weather. Entry fee was 20rs each person before that you will get toll gate to enter here you need to pay 40rs per vehicle. The washroom is also available and for refreshments coconut water, fruits, salad ice cream and snacks items were available there.

One of the beautiful waterfalls in southern Karnataka. The view here is amazing! Perfect time to visit is during the monsoon/rainy season. The official timings are from 9am to 5pm, so if you reach here early, you'll have to wait outside the main gate. Better to reach here before 10am as it'll get crowded. There's a small entry fee for vehicles (10rs for bike). There is ample parking space. There are also benches available where you can sit and enjoy the view. As of now (November) they won't allow you to go to the bottom, but you can pay 5rs ticket and go till the 2nd bottom point. This is just 3hrs journey from Bangalore, perfect for a 1 day weekend trip.

This is one of the best waterfalls near Bangalore. If you are taking Mysore road roads are great too. Don't forget to pack some snacks as there are very less options to eat and too many good picnic spots. Waterfall view is very mesmerizing during the monsoon time.

Beautiful place. Amazing view of the waterfall. Journey to the waterfalls itself is amazing. Need to pay entry fees of 10 Rs for 2 wheeler and 20 Rs for 4 wheeler vehicles. Also there is fee of Rs 5/person to enter the viewpoint where can see the waterfall from near distance. Lot of parking space available. Also snacks and fruits stalls available. Pay and use toilet (10Rs 😒) is there but is not maintained well and very dirty.

This is the best place I’ve ever visited! It was mesmerising, the view and the calm that you receive is not explainable. It is located far and the road that leads to this place is also not very smooth, so expect some jerking. There are monkeys, so be careful about your stuff. For food and drinks, ample options are available to fill you up. For taking a closer look at the falls, ticket is to be purchased for 50/ person.

Better to go in season, we visited in the month of June, so less water flow. We went through our own vehicle. The road is very nice. You will definitely enjoy the journey.

The waterfall and its surrounding areas are gorgeous. Post monsoon, there's plenty of water flowing and the views are amazing. The only caveat being we aren't allowed to go anywhere near the waterfall. We have to view it from quite a distance. There are routes to go much closer, but they've been barricaded. The drive near the waterfall, the peaceful hustle and bustle of the place, and the overall experience is very good.

It was really amazing to see the waterfalls and greenery around it. Water flows like milk. They won’t allow to go down till the falls, but you can enjoy the view from there it self. There is a ticket of 5Rs which you will get there it self no advance booking required. Suggest you to carry cash as there is no UPI payments also you can see few shops before entering the falls where you can have some snacks.

The place is beautiful but this is not the right time(Oct'21) to go as you're not allowed till bottom. Imagine you travelling 100+ km just to see this view and can't get into water. I have visited the place before where I had gone till bottom. But, as better option you can stop in between where people stop to play in water(not falls). Entry fee of 20 was charged. 5 per head was charged to allow till half way down. Parking was free and easily available. The place was overcrowded. You do not have any big restaurant near by so plan accordingly. But, there are small local stalls with local food.

Very nice waterfall ......view is amazing.....you can enjoy there with your family and friends...u can enjoy boating also in nearby river......they charge 100 per person.....for 15-20 minutes. Small snack shops available near fall but not much options.... better to take your own food. Fresh and tasty fish fry is available on local shops for non vegetarian ppl...... Nice place for picnic. Parking is available. Beware of monkeys ..nearby waterfall ....they can take away .. eatable things from your hand....

The waterfalls is good. Recommend place to visit when there is more water, especially after rain. The view is cool and it is safe to bring kids and old age people. There are shops to snack and refresh. Place surrounded by mountains and waterfalls, a good place to relax.

Professional photographer available to capture your photo. You can collect prints from Rs. 50 to Rs. 100 based on size of photo print. Great place for 1 day trip. Limited seating places. View points are awesome. Enjoyment guaranteed. Road conditions to reach is very pleasant. No hairpin bands. Google map might show wrong directions for sometime, take help from locals or police to know correct directions towards waterfall.

This waterfalls is nice. Just to let you know, there are two more view points which you'd definitely love. As per maps, just make a visit to gaganachukki falls, it's the same but another view point, its like a closer look of the falls. Be careful with monkeys. No hotels available, carry water with you, Toilets and dedicated vehicle parking available.

Awesome view of the falls after the rains. The place was a bit crowded but there was a sanitizer dispenser. The authorities had tried to divide the stairs into 2 parts so that there is some social distancing but there wasn't much they can do. You'll have to take care of yourself. If you are going from Bangalore then take the Mysore road as the Kanakapura road has some rough patches.

Barachukki Waterfall on Cauvery River is located approx 75 kms from Mysuru / 140 km from Bengaluru. Perfect for a day outing especially during the monsoons when the waterfalls are in good flow. Best to combine this with a visit to see Gaganachukki waterfalls, located at a short distance from here.

A nice waterfall near bangalore for a weekend getaway. It is recommended to go in the morning, enjoy picnic with family and friends and you can return back by the evening same day. It would be more good during the monsoon, in cool weather and more water flow of the falls. Beware of the monkeys.

Roughly 120km from Bangalore. The Barachukki waterfall is one of the two major falls arising out of the Sivasamudram dam. Vehicle parking charges are just Rs. 20. Ample parking space is available. Entry to the falls area costs just Rs.5 per person. Mind it one cannot go all the way down to the falls here. You'll have to view the falls and photographs from a distance. Drinking water and wash room facilities are also available within the premises. Caution: 1. This is a popular tourist attraction and can get very crowded later in the day during weekends. Try visiting by early morning hours. 2. You would have to cross a couple of kilometres of very poor road conditions to reach the place. 3. There are no decent food joints or restaurants (except a Mayura restaurant about a km away, with very limited offerings) so either have your meal beforehand or carry it with you.

Very good place to visit in a day trip from Bengaluru. However, in 2023 rainfall is less. Hence the water falls have narrowed. That's not so good to see. Road towards the falls are not maintained well. It doesn't feel that we are on the way to visiting such a famous place. Some people stand in the way and take some money in the name of entry, parking, etc. But there is no such development, facility, infrastructure visible around. I believe that these are authentic persons tasked to maintain the tourist spot. Rest rooms don't exist or not easily identifiable. Needs a big infra development.

Earlier there was an easy access to base of the water fall where you can spend good time in water and enjoy, which is blocked now. Without that there isn't much to watch in hot weather. Ample parking space. Very less crowd. Toilet is not directly visible but clean and present.

THE Scenic beauty of waterfall was so amazing to watch in afternoon time. We were happy going to barachukki waterfalls ,although we weren't allowed to go deep, till water level because of many deaths happened in past there and now its prohibited. It was good to breathe fresh air near to hill top place .

Visited on 23.08.2020. Falls was awesome, banglore people can plan for day. 2&4 wheeler parking facility is available and nearby restaurant is good. Power station of shivanasamudra is visible from peak point. You can't swim and reach the water because pathway is blocked because of lot of accidents. You can take photos normally it will be crowded during weekends. Plan according to your timelines.

One of the attractive waterfalls near to Bangalore, Karnataka. It offer ultimate view from the top and perfect time to visit is rainy season like Jul to Nov as water flow will be in its higher-end. You can reach here by car or bike and has ample parking space too. Perfect time to vist here before 11 AM, else the place will be heavily crowded. Earlier they used to allow every one to go till the bottom of the falls but nowadays it's been restricted. But still it's a worth place to visit and can enjoy your 2 hours of time with friends and family during holidays or weekend's.

  • 5/5 H A Kiran K. 2 years ago on Google
Truly Magnificent and the view is simply superb. Forest department has done a decent job in maintaining this place, there is enough parking space and its paid parking though. One can get down few steps to get good view of the falls and its charged ₹5 per person and its reasonable. Besides the nature and its beauty, people who visit dirty the place by disposing the used plastic spoons all over the parking space, also the dustbin are not adequately placed for people to dispose the garbage. There are toilets for the continuance of the public.

It is known as SivaSamuthra falls generally where Kaveri river flows down those small hills. It is wonderful to watch the beauty of it. Ample parking space is available and also it is a huge place in side the forest. There is no public vehicle to reach easily. There is no entry fees per person but to reach the falls to the bottom, it is very nominal Rs 10 or 5 is collected per head. No fish or good food around the place. Good to watch the falls ( no option to bath or to touch water even) and take nice photos with nature.

  • 5/5 Pratik S. 2 years ago on Google
Great place to enjoy beauty of nature. 120km from bangalore and the road is also beautiful and full of plesant views. Start early morning if you want to enjoy the views with peace, it gets little crowded after 9.30am. Also, beware of monkeys, there are a lot of them looking for food, so keep yourself and valuables safe.

  • 4/5 rajesh v. 2 years ago on Google
Nice place. waterfall was not in its full glory - may be due to less monsoon this year. It was a bit crowded when we visited. The entry to reach bottom of the falls was closed. You have to view the falls from 2 view points which are open for public. Since view points are small spaces you may hv to wait for few minutes for your turn to get a photo without much crowd (also to maintain safe distance as a covid precaution). No hotels near by but lot of shops selling cucumbers, bhelpuri, ice creams and snacks etc are available.ample parking space available. Lots of monkeys around , they snatch food and other eatables from your hands or bags etc so pack your stuffs properly. Also ensure kids dont carry any eatables with them.

  • 5/5 hariprasad n. 1 year ago on Google
Natural waterfalls you can see its best during monsoon, it would be 1 day trip from Bangalore. This place has parking space and small roadside eateries available, they are still constructing some more view points near the waterfalls area.

  • 5/5 Ravi C. 7 months ago on Google
Wonderful waterfalls. Visited during monsoon, probably that's why there was an unbelievable amount of water. The waterfall appeared "full" and hence a wonderful sight! Not much of a walk from the huge parking lot. Plenty of place at different levels to take in the beautiful sight! If one wants to go down for a closer look, there's a small fee of ₹5/-. Well made steps with balustrade. Amazing views. One of the best waterfalls. For the parched throats and hungry souls, there's the KSTDC Hotel Mayura Bharachukki virtually next door, just 500m from the parking lot.

    - The Barachukki waterfall roughly 130 km from Bangalore, it is one of the two major falls arising out of the Shivanasamudra dam. - Currently there is very less volume of water in the waterfalls due to less rain in the area. - Better to visit the waterfall post August or during September month. Note: 1. This is a popular tourist attraction and can get very crowded later in the day during weekends. 2. Try to visit this place during morning hours, the gates open at 9 AM, before that there is no entry inside. 3. You would have to cross a couple of kilometres of very poor road conditions to reach the place. 4. There are no good restaurants (The Mayura restaurant is around 1 km away) so either one has to have their breakfast/lunch beforehand or carry it. 5. Carry sufficient amount of water and some snacks that will be helpful. Amenities: - Rs.20 is charged as Vehicle parking charges. Ample parking space is available. - Rs.5 per person is charged as Entry fee to falls area. - Currently one cannot go all the way down to the falls barricade has been put in place. - One has to view the falls and capture photographs from a distance. - Drinking water and wash room facilities are also available within the premises.

Another gorgeous waterfall just 130 KMs from Bangalore has a scenic view from the view points constructed closer to the falls. The intensity with which water falls gives a beautiful smoky view. The best time to visit this place is immediately after monsoon or when water is plenty. Falls is surrounded by lush green landscapes. There is ample of parking around. There are some small eateries at the entrance and a KSTDC hotel and restaurant also. Apart from these, there are many places on the way.

Barachukki waterfalls are in Shivanasagara.. These waterfalls are a perfect weekend gateway for the people of Bangalore. The serene sound of the water falling from the top, the beauty of the hills and the kaveri river flowing down and the sun set.. Words are not enough to explain the scenic beauty of the place.. It's a 4 hr journey from Bangalore.. On the way to these waterfalls, you will also find the kaveri river and a country boat ride point.. people go there for picnics..

Visited this place in August, flow was bit low but it is definitely a beautiful place to visit during monsoons. If you’re blessed with rain your visit will be worth of it. A drive path is bit confusing as there are 3 such small and huge waterfalls in the areas, you must check and visit. There is a forest entry fee you need to pay at entrance of forest.
