Visiting Shivanasamudra Falls near Mysuru was a mesmerizing experience that etched its beauty into my memory. As I approached the falls, the distant roar of cascading water grew louder, building anticipation. The first glimpse of the falls was breathtaking; the sheer force of the water tumbling down rugged cliffs was awe-inspiring. The mist from the cascading water created a cool, refreshing atmosphere, providing relief from the warmth of the surroundings. The lush greenery surrounding the falls added to the scenic charm, making it a perfect blend of nature's elements. I stood on the viewing platform, spellbound by the sheer power and grandeur of the falls. Taking a boat ride to get closer to the falls was a highlight of the trip. The boat gently glided over the river, offering a unique perspective of the falls. The sound of the water crashing against the rocks was both thrilling and soothing, creating a sensory symphony. The experience at Shivanasamudra Falls was not just about witnessing nature's beauty but also about feeling its raw energy. It left me with a profound appreciation for the natural wonders that exist, untouched and majestic. As I left, the image of the falls and the rhythmic sound of cascading water lingered in my mind, a reminder of the breathtaking beauty tucked away in the heart of Mysuru.

Very good place for family vacation. There are 2 waterfalls to enjoy. Good restaurant near Gaganchuki falls view point. But better to carry your own food.

Shivanasamudra Falls is a waterfall which is located in Mandya district and it’s 130km approximately from Bangalore. It’s situated along with Kaveri river. And the fall is approx 90meter from ground. This is also known as second biggest waterfall in India. these falls are at their best during the Monsoon months (July to November). Generally, in the weekends, the place is overcrowded and stays in the limelight. So, if you want to spend some quality time here, then you must visit this place on weekdays.

We visited yesterday on 16th September 2023. It was a very nice experience. Very Good outing for one day trip from Bengaluru or Mysuru. The road is full of nature and the roaring falls both Gaganachukki and Barachukki are worth watching for few minutes or hours. The place has an ancient temple, a church and a dargah blended in a secular atmosphere. From Bengaluru if you travel in expressway upto Maddur, then be alert to take the exit to service road well before the actual exit shown by the Google maps, as few exits are recently closed to avoid 2/3 wheelers. Closing time is 5 pm. Reach ideally between 11 to 1 pm. Visit both falls and on the way have lunch in Malavalli town or Restaurants on the highway. Fish lovers can eat fresh fried fish near Barachukki falls. 😋

Shivasamudra Waterfalls !!! Situated in Mandya dist , Karnataka along Kaveri river is a worth visit place for all the tourists & people around . Mainly there are 2 waterfalls Barachukki & Gaganachukki ( Twin falls ) . The waterfalls can be viewed from 2 different places ie , Shivanasamudra watch tower & Darga Hazrath. There is a hydro electric power station on the way . You can have a look at it if u want . There are also so many temples on the way while you go seems like a village of temples :) You can see people climbing the rocks in between and getting near to the waterfalls . Please dont do things like that as it not a safe practice to do so .

If you're looking to visit a beautiful and impressive waterfall, Shivanasamundram is a must-see. The falls, which consist of Barachukki and Gaganchukki, are located about 8-10 kilometers apart and offer a stunning display of water rushing down from a great height. The falls are particularly impressive during the rainy season, and their size and power can be compared to Niagara Falls in the United States. While Shivanasamundram is a great place to visit, it can get quite crowded on weekends, so it's best to plan your trip for a weekday if possible. Additionally, be mindful of the monkeys in the area – they have been known to snatch food from visitors' hands. To get to the falls, there is a small fee for both car parking (20 INR) and entry per person (5 INR). Despite these costs, the falls are well worth a visit for their natural beauty and the chance to experience the powerful force of nature.

It was average place and not recommended before rainy season atleast. We went in June month and there was very less to no water with minimum view. Approx 150 km from Bangalore. You can plan after rainy season maybe if you want to visit. Water levels might increase after that with nice view. Don’t go to gagan chukki falls as there is nothing there. Parking easily available everywhere

Most beautiful underrated waterfalls in South Karnataka in Kollegal Taluk. We can call it as Jog falls child version. Asia's first hydro electric power plant built during British period as a source of electricity throughout Karnataka. You can get Rare direct bus service from Kollegal and Maddur. You can take Maddur Kollegal route bus. Get down at Sathyagala hand post. You can reach the falls by Share auto charging ₹20 per head. You can have boating service at reservoir of check dam before Gagganachukki falls.

A very beautiful place where many rivers meet. Check the latest reviews and then visit. This place looks good only if there is a lot of water. We visited in December but even then there was not much water. Sometimes the shooting happens and the public is not allowed in one part. We need to get a ticket for beyond one point.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in karnataka. In the monsoon it's become more gorgeous with full of water. Surroundings of this falls are nice, one watch tower is there, if you climb up this tower, you can captured such a good pictures. Some food stalls are there, ample space of parking. If you have plan for day out, this place should have in your bucket list.

"Shivanasamundra falls" is on the Kaveri river in Karnataka adjacent to Mandya district. It is consists of two drops: 1.Gaganachukki falls 2.Bharachukki falls Beautiful waterfall inside the premise of natural surrounding. Awesome views, you can have bath too but be extremely careful if you don't know how to swim, your negligence can threat your own life. I have been a witness of such incident. Although this is a good place to enjoy with your friends and family if little care is taken👍

There is a distant view of waterfalls, going nearby isn't allowed. Beware of monkeys as there are a lot of them. Visit during or after the monsoons as water flow is more that time. Took at least 3 hrs from the city centre. Parking charge is there but no entry fee. Gaganchukki and Bharachukki are the 2 sides of the falls which are few kms drive from one another. You will get only coconut stalls and papdi chat/bhelpuri kinda stalls as eatery options. Public washroom available in both the places.

Nice Flow of water just during monsoon time .. Area needs to be developed for safety & accommodate huge surge of tourists on weekends .. Beautification with Garden / Light show in evening can be added advantage . Like jog falls this can be also on K’taka tourist map

Nice place to visit if you are planning for long drive and need a break visit here with friends or family, however, it is very hot in summers, no food joints near by, though you can make your arrangements to cook and eat from your own, the place is full of street dogs and monkeys. Start early morning from Bangalore to avoid city traffic and the Sun on head.

The atmosphere here is great during rainy season..one must be very careful near the waterfall as its slippery. Visit during weekdays is recommended as its crowded during weekdays.
