Very nice River beach with sand shore. River water is clean and people can play with family. Safe place but people who don't know swimming must not go into deep water level , can play close to shore. It is open for all. People should be careful about themselves n children. There are few food, tea n fruit stalls.

Can enjoy the river experience and can play in water. But playing in this water is not preferable to every one as its always crowded and water also not much clean. Even food choices also very minimal over here. Good to go if you just want to spend some time with family and kids but won't suggest to enter in water any way.

It is a small lovely getaway in Bangalore. Coracle boating is available here. The experience is absolutely refreshing and amazing. Boating charges during last visit was Rs 100 per person. There are many stalls and road side eateries here. The area is a village so you won't get many decent food options here. The place closes by 6pm. Beside the river, there are also many temples which you can visit.

Beautiful & serene. It hurts to see the water level now when compared to how it was when I last visited few years ago... Hopefully rains should improve. Bridge Constructions are in-place which connects to Chamrajnagar; this might cut the travel duration easily by 30min and owing to the scenery it makes driving bit more relaxed.

Feb 2024 Slight entry fee at 2 places before you reach near it. Do go with clothes and based on water condition entire family can enjoy water. Umbrella boat ride available. Snacks vendor shops available but no good eatery shops nearby. Careful with monkeys.

This a very less popular river beach in that area among the tourists. It is around 30 kms from from Barachukki falls. But don't think the beach will be empty. Lots of local people were there who were enjoying their bath in the afternoon around 3 PM. It was too much crowded. As the name suggests, this is not normal beach, this is river beach. Water is hardly 4 to 5 ft deep. So without worry anyone can come down for bath to enjoy water. Please note no change room is there. View is very nice. Lots of food stalls near to river beach. Enough parking was there. For entering in river beach area with standard 4 wheeler car 30 Rs was charged. You can have boating there in small cages (pic given). Do bargain before agreeing to the price.

It's always fun to go there. Whenever I am here i always spend atleast 1hr trying to swim to no avail. The small dinghy rides are cool. The river is not that deep and is quite safe. But there is no place to change and there are monkeys lots of them.

One of the best picnic spot for the whole family if water place is desired.. the water is clean amd safe for all the age groups.. food is not an issue as there are many good joints that are available there.. a meal on plantain leaf will cost you approx 80 to 100 rupees. Can be reached only with your own transport as there are no convenient public transport to this place.

The view is awesome. You will surely fall in love with the natural beauty around. I would recommend a boat ride. It will cost you ₹100 per person and it's worth every single penny. I couldn't go to the other side but that seemed even more beautiful and less crowded. If you can, you should try it out. Total bliss to witness the beauty.

It’s a great weekend ride/getaway, just around 100 km from Bangalore and one of the best places to spend your free time. If you are going during monsoon please check the news for the updates, if the river flow is high they might close the entry. I have visited last weekend and it was fine, Kaveri river levels were normal, Many people were playing in the water, there are many food stalls available in case if you feel hungry, noticed restroom 🚻 facilities available, coracle rides are available, For the entry you have to take two tickets , first one for entry (10 rs) and later once u go few yards ahead there is the main entrance for this small beach area, I guess for parking(10 rs). There are few popular temples near by and on the way. There were lot of people visiting when I went there. Enjoy and be safe ~

Very nice place. Water was only up to knee level when we visited, so it was really good to play. Even kids can play safely since no much water current. There are coracle (harigolu) rides available at a price of 50rs per person for short trip and 100 rs per person for a wider round trip in the river. We were 4 adults and 2 kids so we had space crunch in the coracle and couldn't enjoy much. Also water levels are very low at some places so bottom of coracle was hitting the river bottom. Lots of small eateries around serving snacks, icecreams etc. Changing rooms are present but not in good condition at all. Beware of monkeys since they snatch food items from you if carried openly. There are only vegetarian hotels within 3kms radius from this place. So if you are looking for non veg food you may have to find a hotel before you reach this place or opt for vegetarian food from the limited number of hotels available at the entrance to this place.

A good spot for one day trip picnic spot with your family. You can take bath as it is not much depth but river flow speed is high. You can take boating by Coracle charging ₹50 per person.

Local tourist hotspot. Not really much for everyone. A shallow river bank. Lots of children and people playing in the water. Extremely hot. There's an unfinished bridge across the river. Not sure why it exists 🧐

Today two guys accedentally dead on the Talakkadu Kaveri River when they jumped from the bridge pillar into deep danger marked area of the kaveri river, talakkad. And the foolish people made crowd and even two nurses with our team getting tried to save them with first aids and CPR, but already they mistakenly put sand on his mouth, mah be when they carry him from water, and someone unknowingly giving CPR on above his chest. And people trying to capture all these shots on their mobile phones and making videos in a hurry, by making rush around this person where he needs a medical emergency and some care.Nobody tried to call ambulance even many local peoples were there. All making more crowd and shooting videos of the injured guy, and unfortunately yotal two guys were dead today.very pathetic. TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR FRIENDS IF DONT KNOW SWIM OR FOLLOW WARNINGS.....SAFETY FIRST....IF YOU ALSO GET ACCEDENT ALL WILL ROUND UP AND MAKE VIDEO...NO ONE HERE WILL TRY TO SAVE YOU.....ALL HAVE LOST THEIR COMMONSENSE....

    1) Moderately maintained river, but still you can find some trash floating around the edges. 2) There's literally no police or any Govt official controlling the people from littering. 3) I would like govt to make strict rules round this area about cleanliness. 4) Me and my friend took boat 🛥 ride with private bathing 🛀🏻 on the other side of the river. 5) The experience was good, because it was away from normal people and we had privacy. 6) This ride costed us ₹500 for two people, I would say it was worth it.

This place is our all time favourite. This place is situated in the bank of the river kaveri and is famous for temples. We can enjoy a nice coracle ride that charges 100 bucks per person for 30.mins and 200 for an hour ride.We saw big crowd playing football and basketball here. There were a lot of families who had come for picnic with their cooked food.we have multiple eateries here which serves meals, dosas idlis, noodles. There are also multiple stalls which serve cut fruits, fruit salads, icecreams, tea and coffee.Since this place is surrounded by temples and hence it's strictly vegetarian. There are couple of shops which sells clothes too like tshirts, skirts, kurtis, pyzamas at reasonable prices for people who preferred to go inside the water and have some fun. There is a pay and use toilet too though it wasn't that clean. Also there are couple of changing rooms too.

Talakadu is a desert-like town on the left bank of the Kaveri river 45 km from Mysore and around 130 km from Bangalore in Karnataka, India. It once had over 30 temples, most of which now lay buried in sand. One can visit the Shivansamdram falls and Talakadu in the same day. The distance between the is around 45 km. It is a small lovely getaway in Bangalore. Coracle boating is available here. The experience is absolutely refreshing and amazing. Boating charges from the beach shore to the opposite shore is Ra 50 and length wise up to 200 meters Rs 100 per person. There are many stalls and road side eateries here. The area is a village so you won't get many decent food options here. The place closes by 6pm. Beside the river, there are also many temples which you can visit.

Talakadu Beach is a destination that will turn you on to a weekend miracle. It is, in fact, one of the distinct places in the South Region of India. Every person of any age loves to explore the sandy river beach that breathes a wistful history. Not only is the landscape impeccable, but the ancient temples nearby leave every visitor extremely thrill. Moreover, the sandy, desert-like town of Talakadu immensely portrays a religious significance. Therefore, it is the most popular pilgrim site for the Hindus. A weekend trip to this whimsical spot is not a thing to miss. Scroll down to know more about the epic historical landmark of Talakadu.

This is one of the best place to have one day trip with your family. You can get into water and swim. Enjoying Coracle ride here cost 50 per head. Sand at the bank of the river is so fine and feels soft. Almost all kind of eatables available here. We had meals, it was below average, not good. Lots of parking place. Overall, must visit place.

The water was clear and safe for kids to bath as well. Very near to the pancha linga temples, easy to locate and it’s best to visit during evening or morning to avoid exposure to sun. The water might dry out in summer, the place is not so clean and friendly for dress changing. Bridge construction work going on as well. Beware of monkeys and pickpockets. You can take food and water with you.

A nice place with parking facilities 20 rs. Kindly note that carry set of clothes if you wish to take a dip in water. You can take the coral boat around 50 rs. Per person. Horse ride is available too. There is place for ladies to change clothes(do not keep high expectation though). Lots of monkeys around, so be careful not keep eatables in your hand or keep your car door open.

Best place for a one day trip near Bangalore. Don’t expect hygienic food. Better to carry own food. Avoid during weekends.

Best river segment to enjoy playing and relaxing in. Best quality of the river here is the absence of clay, which makes it clean and clear. People of all age groups can enjoy here as it is a safe river edge. Indeed it's a river 'beach'👌👍😊😊

This place is near shivanasamudra falls. Not a great place but you can visit when you're visiting shivanasamudra falls. You can spend like around an hour. Carry your own food, not much options for food over there, though there are vendors, but adviseable to carry your own.

A good spot for one day trip picnic spot with your family. You can take bath as it is not much depth but river flow speed is high. You can take boating by Coracle charging ₹300 per boat if it's single or group.

Loved it! Experienced the most soothing time while enjoying boating. The circular boat was an experience of a lifetime. The beach hosts a lot of local food sellers and ice cream vendors. But majorly you’ll only get bhajiya, fruits and bhelpuri. Definitely a good picnic spot and the view is truly beautiful. The charge for the boat was 50 for half area coverage and 100 for full round.

This is one of the favourite weekend spot from Bangalore and Mysore. There is absolutely no development for tourists although huge numbers visit every weekend. The water was not clean as it used to be, and the new bridge takes out the nature away. There are few changing rooms and parking is full of rubbish.

  • 4/5 pavan k. 9 months ago on Google
It was a pleasant experience visiting the river and mongo masala was good, you can give it a try, carry an umbrella, and enjoy the river bath. Stay safe.

  • 4/5 Utkarsh A. 8 months ago on Google
Great place to enjoy with family and friends. Just to be cautious on not going in deep water and avoid littering near the river. The place is clean but it should be everyone's responsibility to ensure it remains prestine. This should also be applicable to local vendor.

  • 5/5 khaja p. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent place for family especially, because water is not that depth. A 5 year old Kid also will not get water till their neck. So anybody doesn't know swimming and want to enjoy in a river like side then this is th option. Lot of snack options and changing rooms are available.

  • 4/5 Alex A. 1 year ago on Google
Had a good time with the family. The water is less but was very clear. The place is good and has good amount of parking space. Lots of chat joints and have small hotels inside. The food is ok. This place doesn't have toilet.
