Start early, so that you reach the place 'gaganachukki' . You can spend sometime there watching lush greenery and fill your eyes with Milky colour of water falling from mountains. You can smell the aroma of water flow. From there, around 12km drive where you see the 'shivana samundra' check dam. no water activities are allowed but swimming with own risk.. the water flow is very high during mansoon reason, till oct. Drive another 1.5km from here , actually you see the gaganachukki back sight see, from Durga side Drive another 2.5km from there and you reach the 'barachukki'. This is even marvelous. So, you should visit all the 3 places to complete the shivana samudra a day trip. You can visit hydro power plant if your are interested. Madhya ranga is the famous temple located near shivana samudra. Bangalore>madduru>malavalli> towards kollegal

Good waterfall if u plan to go in a rainy season. It's like india's niagra falls. It's huge and they won't allow you to go till base of it. Car charges are 20 rs and per person 5 rs.

Nice place to visit, there are 2 falls Barachukki and Gaganchukki in Shivanasamundram. Both these falls are in 8 - 10 kms distance. If possible visit during weekdays as weekends are much crowded.

Perfect for a day's outing in Bangalore with friends and family. Monsoon being the best time of the year to visit. Two waterfalls (Gaganchukki and Barachukki) merge to join in the Kaveri river. Entry to the waterfalls is 5 rupees.

Must visit waterfalls. It is crowded during weekends. Be careful of the monkeys. They could snatch the food from your hands.

Great one time visit spot. Please check recent reviews to determine if water flow is sufficient or not. Experience is entirely subjective to water flow and weather

Went here during Aug 2022 , the timing mentioned on Google is 8 to 5. But it was 9 to 5 when we went. It was less crowded . We reached arnd 9. Spectacular view and flow of water was amazing. Definitely worth visiting . There are small stalls for snacks near parking area. Also, hotel mayura is nearby for staying or having food.

Don't get me wrong, the waterfalls is amazing! It will be awesome in rainy season for sure. But, why are we screwing everything up with garbage?! What is the government or the forest department doing? I mean it's 2022 & these jokers are still charging fee by cash?! Keep it in white, how much will you eat?!

Shivasamudram fall is quite nice and the second largest water fall in India. We went on a day trip on Sunday and enjoyed a lot with scenic beauty in and around the place. Crowd was limited and falls were looking gorgeous. You can take Mysore highway which is quite impressive and fast without any tools as of now. Top speed is around 80 to 100 km/h on this highway. don't forget to take correct turn for falls otherwise you will end up in covering 20 kms more :)

This place is a nice getaway for a day, very green and beautiful place with a lot of places to park your vehicle. I would recommend you to place carry your food along, because there are no good eateries around. Beware of monkeys especially if you have food in hand. Amazing for kids and family

Nestled in the southern state of Karnataka, Shivanasamudra Waterfalls is a picturesque natural wonder that leaves you awe-struck with its stunning beauty. I recently visited this enchanting place, and I must say, it was a memorable experience that left me mesmerized. The first thing that struck me about Shivanasamudra Waterfalls was its sheer grandeur. As I stood at the viewing point, I was greeted by the sight of massive cascades of water rushing down from a height of over 300 feet, creating a thunderous roar that echoed in the surroundings. The sheer force and volume of water were a sight to behold, and I was captivated by the raw power of nature. What made my visit to Shivanasamudra Waterfalls truly special was the lush greenery that surrounded the falls. The area is rich in dense forests and verdant vegetation, which adds to the overall charm of the place. The sight of water crashing down amidst the dense foliage was nothing short of breathtaking, and I found myself in awe of the natural beauty that unfolded before my eyes. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to take a boat ride near the falls. I hopped on a coracle, a traditional circular boat, and ventured close to the falls, feeling the mist on my face and listening to the sound of water crashing against the rocks. It was an exhilarating experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shivanasamudra Waterfalls. However, one thing to note is that the best time to visit Shivanasamudra Waterfalls is during the monsoon season or immediately after heavy rainfall. This is when the falls are at their full glory, with ample water flowing down the cliffs, creating a breathtaking spectacle. During the dry season, the water flow may be considerably reduced, and the falls may not be as impressive. In terms of facilities, the site is well-maintained, with paved pathways and viewing points that offer safe and convenient access to the falls. There are also a few shops selling snacks and refreshments, which can be a welcome treat after exploring the area. Overall, my experience at Shivanasamudra Waterfalls was truly unforgettable. The awe-inspiring view of the falls, combined with the surrounding natural beauty, made it a perfect getaway for nature lovers like me. I would highly recommend visiting this place, but do plan your trip during the monsoon season or after heavy rainfall to witness the falls in their full splendor. It's a must-visit destination for anyone seeking solace in nature's wonders.

Serene place with a beautiful view. Seems like a wallpaper of a laptop. Really beautiful. You cannot go near the fall but can have a view and click pics before the guardrails only. There are monkeys as well. The weather wasn't cold enough. We went in the month of September. There were a couple of roadside stalls like coconut water, star fruit, tea, sugarcane juice, toys etc. The view point also had a photographer who could click your pic and prepare to give you on the spot for a cost of Rs 100/photo.

After a long drive to the waterfalls, we were disappointed we didn't get to be in the water. It was locked for some reason. Bad timing, perhaps. Over all, a good viewpoint to enjoy peace and tranquil.
