1/5 Ananda Yoga S. 5 months ago on Google • 6 reviews
overcrowded,
overpriced,
questionable
''rules''
I
applied
for
one
month
in
2022
but
ended
up
staying
only
2
weeks.
When
I
wanted
to
stretch
out
my
back
before
Prasarita
Padottansana
(I
did
slightly
backbend
to
open
my
chest
more),
I
was
immediately
warned
that
I
should
not
do
that.
A
similar
happened
when
I
wanted
to
prepare
for
legs-behind-head
and
to
stretch
out
my
right
hip
(I
have
slight
scoliosis
and
that
place
needs
extra
opening)...
I
did
pigeon
pose,
and
was
warned
by
Sharath
that
''extra''
stretches
are
not
part
of
the
ashtanga
sequence..the
practice
should
be
fast
without
too
much
stopping
or
extra
opening.
Later
it
was
crystal
clear
that
the
problem
was
too
many
students
waiting
for
the
place
on
the
mat..so
yeah,
do
your
practice
fast
and
clear
the
space
for
the
next
student...
Every
morning
I
had
to
wait
45-60
min
to
even
get
on
my
mat.
Energy
is
overwhelming
and
competitive.
Not
sure
what
is
so
magical
about
this
place.
It
lacks
intimacy
and
definitely
individual
attention.
Adjustments
from
his
students
were
mostly
poorly
made.
Sharath's
place
emphasis
on
quantity
over
quality,
and
has
very
little
to
do
with
yoga,
but
more
with
money-making
business.
This
year
I
am
practicing
with
another
teacher
here
in
Mysore
and
I
am
so
happy
I
am
not
part
of
the
authorization-chasing
program.
