Beautiful small hill near shrirangapatana. Best time to visit in the morning or in the evening. On top of the hill one small old temple is their but it won't be open full day. Can spend one full day on top of the hill. Even u can do small trekking their. No restaurant so you have to take your food and water

The place where I want to be every weekend. This place is so peaceful. This is a historic site as well. Known to be the place which was used as a vantage point by tippu sultan. It is very near to Nimishamba temple. There is a temple on top of the hill. The serpentine roads are well maintained. There are several view points in the place. This is a plastic free zone and would request everyone not to litter any plastic. Do watch the sunset from here it's a treat for the eyes.

Karighatta is a hill situated a few kilometres outside the 'island' town of Srirangapatna. It is situated off the bangalore - mysore Highway just before srirangapatna in Karnataka state of India. The name Karighatta translates to Elephant Hill in the language kannada. The hill has a hundu temple devoted to a form of god vishnu, called Karigirivasa. This deity is also referred to as lord srinvasa and is also called Bairagi Venkataramana. The epithet Bairagi for this idol is derived from the fact that when alankara (flower decoration) is done to the deity, the deity looks like a Bairagi. The hill stands at a height of 2697 feet above sea level. It supports dry scrub jungle and many tamarind and gooseberry trees are found around the temple. A small river, Lokapavani, a tributary of cauvery flows by the hill.

Great place. Trekking here is an awesome experience. Go for trekking in groups. There are more chances that you end up alone on the hills because its an unrated place nobody on the weekdays goes for trekking. I visited on Sunday i Got accompanied by a group of 8 people near the hills. There is no parking lot or structure here so parking here is at our own risk. Take enough water and food before starting.

This is an Awesome place for one day visit. We can visit temple, Treck the small hill, enjoy the forest and nature, Also we can use to come up or go down from hill. Temple do have timings for visit. Also we can use this place for having small functions and even economical marriages. For such functions we need to obtain the prior permission from temple authorities. Also there is an connection bridge between this hill and Nimishamba temple. Both the places can be visited in one day. Only caution to be taken is, Road to hill is quite curvy, so vehicle driving should be done very carefully. Chances of skiding from road is more if u drive rashly.

Very nice place and good one for children to play. Nature lovers can enjoy the place by sitting in the sitout area built on top of the hill.

A nice place to visit with Family and Friends, surrounding view of nature is very good, the road is also good even being a small hill it has 9 hairpin curves which is a treat for drivers who love cornering and curves.. Temple is very old & well maintained, Lord Venkataramana statue is very beautiful.
