Telegondola Mamaia

Transportation service

😐 The cable car at Mamaia beach is in service since 2004. The ride in a cabin lasts about 8 minutes and will move you 2km far away (between Hotel Perla and Casino). It's a tempting attraction to try that will move you over hotel buildings and windows, crowded streets, and gives you a view on the Black... People often mention Mamaia, view, ride,

I was really looking forward to riding the Telegondola but I got there a little bit after 6PM on Wednesday evening and it was closed with no explanation. I wasn't the only one who got there and was disappointed. About 5 other families and couples came to ride and looked terribly disappointed. The only thing I can really tell you about it is that there is paid parking right next to the box office in case you are driving.

The cable car at Mamaia beach is in service since 2004. The ride in a cabin lasts about 8 minutes and will move you 2km far away (between Hotel Perla and Casino). It's a tempting attraction to try that will move you over hotel buildings and windows, crowded streets, and gives you a view on the Black sea. At the highest point you'll be 50m above the ground. The cable car is in service from 9:00 to 23:00 during the summer (11:30 to 21:00 otherwise). The best time is during the Golden sunset or during daylight. Don't go in the evening, because there is not much to see and windows are pretty dirty and scratched. It's better to take photos through opened mini window.

A 5-star experience - at least in theory. The views from above could be truly amazing, but sadly the cabin's windows are matted/scratched by the sea breeze, and severely impede your visibility. If you were planning on taking amazing pictures of Mamaia from above, you might have to adjust your expectations and settle for pictures of your group in the cabin (pictures included to illustrate my point and the matted blue-ish haze of the windows - and no, I didn't use a toaster to end up with such subpar quality pics). The admission price is very affordable (20 lei/approx 4 euros for a one-way trip) and during the COVID pandemic cabin employees were following health and safety protocols - you are also required to wear a mask when purchasing your ticket and embarking.

I did this cable car on my last day to save me walking alittle bit and enjoy the view. It was nice and price is ok at 25 lei. It's about 10 minutes and I had the cable car to myself.

It was okey, wasn't bad, neither extraordinary. It is an unexpected attraction so we tried it. We took it from Mamaia towards Constanta. It was quite windy, but it was pretty stable. The views are nice but there are lots of buildings below which spoiled the views. There wasn't a wait, there weren't lots of people. The windows of the cabins are quite dirty so you cannot take clean photos

Provides a great view over Mamaia beach and over the Mamaia cliff and all it's shops, restaurants and hotels but it left me with a "meh" feeling and to be honest it is pricey for a 10 minutes trip. It costs 20 ron per person for 1 way.

One star because they behave like a tourist trap: they make you get down at the other end, even if all you wanted was just a ride to see the view and get back to the same point. For 25 lei they should be allowing customers to have the option of round trip as long as the customer stays inside the gondola for the whole trip. Also, the personnel behave disgustingly, the lady at the cashier seems like is annoyed by customers and the guys that make you get down at the other end look and behave like bouncers of a cheap bar.

Misleading opening hours, the place is mostly closed. Negative experience

Nice attraction! I can recommend it to any kind of age! The only reason for the 4 stars is slightly cloudy glass and lack of ventilation in the cabine. But anyhow you must try!))

A nice view of Mamaia beaches, tho it’s nothing too spectacular to see. However, it’s not expensive and it lasts for about 15-20 minutes, so it’s a sweet little thing to do in Mamaia. You can get on it from either of the sides and form the beginning to the end it takes about 45 min to walk, if you want to go back to where you started.

Good view and cool ride, the only thing I didn't enjoy are the seats and the air flow inside the cabin. It's kind of hot inside.

Great experience with the kids. It's fun and beautiful. Maybe a 10 min ride maximum... it was clean and fun to see mamaia and constanta from above. Only downside is you have to repay to go back the other way. However, it's affordable. We parked and walked down the promenade and rode back. Perfect for families with small children.

Wish they had an audio guide to talk about the scenery especially for those visiting the city.

The cabins are new and in good condition, the end point is close to Sara hotel boutique then you can go back walking or take another ticket to return. You should try it.

2-3 consecutive evenings they were claiming to have electricity problems in order to be able to close about 3 hours earlier than the official closing time. The reason seems very suspicios.

👍 If you want to have a nice view of the port go before the sunset. You can enjoy a 7k bike ride to the southern point of the port.
