Really nice place, was clean and inviting, staff were friendly. The food was good, ribs however were a little tough but the flavour was great. The Buffalo fries were delicious and the coleslaw was good. I mainly enjoyed the banoffee pie. It had just the right amount of sweetness and the banana was nice and ripe, the presentation was nice also. Will definitely go again in the near future

Massive place - clean and new. I just stopped in for a quick pint and the lady behind the bar was super lovely. <Revision following reply: There were no napkins in the condiment boxes on the tables when I visited but perhaps I came before meal time set-up. I've been informed they have finger dipping bowls for ribs etc which is an excellent practice>. They have a terrace that looks over the race course - plenty of outdoor seating (not a fan of racing animals btw - here for hospital).

Arrived after lunch and waited at the front desk. Decided to go inside as no one came up. Few tables were occupied inside, yes service was quick got our food in no time. Great venison and angus cooked to our liking. Would be glad back to try menu offerings.

Dropped in for a bite to eat a a couple of beers. Ordered the steak meal, rare. Came out medium, it was okay. The steak was tender. Service was good. Dropped by for a lunch today. Ordered my usual steak, my colleague ordered the lamb. The food was epic! Everything on the plate was delicious.

We've been coming here off and on over the last few years. What's been our main attraction is their garlic bread which except for the last visit has been delicious, nice crunchy crust, soft inside with plenty of garlic butter. Unfortunately our last trip the bread was different and not the same a before BUT the rest of the food was great. The drinks can sometimes tend to have too much ice so if you like them that way great. Service has been good on the most part, we've been looked after and I think it just depends if there's a game or it's really busy with big tables, so we've enjoyed the atmosphere and the menu is great has something for everyone.

The chicken nibbles were hot and cold literally. I took 1 piece were one end was warmish and the other was cold. Had the pork ribs and was not ejoyable at all. It was a mountain of mediocre food. The cooking was not right - it was not tender, the fat was thick and by the time i finished 2 pieces it was cold already. We were the only customers so i don't see a reason why it couldn't be done right. Just tasted sweet no other flavours. Chicken dishes were ok.

What a fantastic place! First time trying Lone Star, took my mum yesterday to have lunch and we couldn't be happier with the service that Taryn(I think is her name, sorry I forgot hahaha) she made our day, exceptional service from the moment we open the door! I told her when we left Food: OMG! that Dixie chicken was to die for! I'm a chef, and I NEVER thought about poached chicken in sauce, it was incredible, had to order another to takeaway to bring it to my partner, so he can try it 🤤 it was fenomenal! I will definitely come back! My mum loved the Pina colada that Taryn made for her, my little girl was so happy with her drawings pictures for paint and her food , and I was happy with everything to be honest, thank you so much!

Had a small birthday party here in their closed off room, the burger was pretty big, great and filling. Its a cozy place and the service is amazing. Theres a Private dining room for occasions, outdoor and indoor dining area aswell. Gives a cool cowboy west vibe. :D Also a great place to go on rainy days when you feel like a good feed.

Kia Orana, Island style graduation!! Saaaahhh 😍😍😍 I had the privilege to celebrate my graduation at lone-star Alexandra!! This was the best night for me and myself and guests of up to 50 had the best night ever!! Dealing with Matt (Owner) made it so much easy and wanted to give me the best experience and night! Despite A bit of a hiccup in terms of the music and noise as such (probably best to double check the finer details first before you book people to hire/local residents complained regarding noise) however that was out of the venue and owners control. Nevertheless, Matt (Owner) is such a sweetheart down to earth guy and really knows how to look after his guests! Big Ups to the chefs!!! The Food was absolutely AMAAAAAAZZZING!!!! We swallowed that bar up and cocktails were just DELICIOUS!!!!! Food and drinks were AMAZZZING! We had $3500 to spend on food and drinks between up to 50 peeps and still had a refund lol…. I would highly recommend this place for celebrations and occasions!! The setting and location is spectacular!!! The Deck is the beat space as it overlooks the race course and dim lights makes it so intimate! Thank you to Matt and his team for making my night one to remember!!! You and your staff deserve the credit of acknowledgement! I hope you let me book here again lol but this time will triple check noise levels 🤣 awsome stuff Lonestar! My 1# favourite place!

For a sunny afternoon and early evening meal, best time is 5:30pm. Out on the deck, the sun shines brightly and the Lady in Red cocktail goes down a treat. Had a great meal (steak and ribs) and was looked after nicely by a talented waitress, great recommendations - thank you Hayley! Awesome playlist and nice spacing between tables. May have just found our new hot spot. Definitely worth a try!

Was invited to a family friends birthday October last year and was very impressed with the excellent service & yummy brunch. I believe my party of 15 children's to adults all complemented also. A must to invite family & friends rain or shine to this awesome establishment.

Had the most delicious lamb meal cooked to perfection. Party of 20 - meals were served in a timely manner and all at once. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their meal and overall a dining experience deserving of 5 stars. But, I left earlier than others and have been informed that they had run out of milk for tea and coffee afterwards

We were confused as to how these glasses could have made it out onto tables when they were this bad. The meals were ok but it’s hard to see past how disgusting the glasses were - what else isn’t being cleaned properly?!

We went with friends and on Saturday night the place was packed but that didn't stop the great service we got. The food was delightful and we didn't have to wait that long and the waitress knew how to look after our drinks. When we finished she brought the kids Lone Star t shirts which they loved. Great atmosphere and great restaurant, highly recommended we will definitely be back and the underground parking was a bonus. Thanks Lone Star.

Regular at lonestar. Been to a few including the new market one a few times before it closed. Naturally go to the epsom one from time to time to celebrate with colleagues and family but this time got a big scale in my fish and the ribs were dry. Not sure if I'll come back

Came here for lunch, and the ribs were just incredible - huge portion, tender and the sauce…wow. The coleslaw and buffalo chips were the perfect accompaniment. I didn’t have to wait very long for the food to arrive, and the staff were attentive, friendly and professional. Ambience and decor is lovely. Would definitely go back for lunch.

Good food and the service has definitely improved from the last visit. However, we also had some random fruit flies interrupting. We are talking a couple, when there should be none. I suggest a deep clean of the booths and menus.Then remove the sauces and wipe them down, on the regular. Thank you
