We were searching where’s the best adobo in town and this restaurant popped up. The first impression of mine stepped into this restaurant was “it’s old but fancy✨” And it turned out there were some traditional Filipino dance performances going on while we’re dining. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not a local…. their adobo actually tasted a bit salty in my opinion. But the queso quesadillas were good!! And the halo halo was yum! Definitely recommend.

Visited Barbara’s after a walk throughout the center of Manila, Santiago fort and the multiple cathedrals. This was the perfect spot to grab some recovering healthy, homemade and flavorful food. I really enjoyed their Sinigang and ordered some rice on the side. Also, I highly recommend their iced tea! Beautiful place. I will aire return!

Barbara’s Heritage Restaurant is a few steps away from Manila Cathedral and La Cathedral Cafe. The staffs are attentive and very polite. Expect that the foods are pricey but worth it! If you wish to enjoy buffet, come in from 6:30pm onwards and they have a little musical/theatrical show.

Beautiful interior and amazing food. Highly recommended to dine in. The restaurant is very popular so on weekends it is probably worth booking the table in advance through their website. We loved their Beef Caldereta, Mixed Adobo (pork and chicken) and Pansit Sotanghon. Less so the Lumpia (it was too sweet). Very professional service. We will go back for sure.

We definitely love Barbara's!! ♥️ We got them as our wedding venue last March 2022. Food was superb 100% delicious from food tasting to our wedding day. All our guests were happy and satisfied with the menu ☺️ Thanks also to our AE MC for answering all our inquiries during the preparation. ⭐️

Located inside the casa manila the restaurant enjoys of premium location and history. Waiter are friendly and quite serviceful. Food was quite low. Paellla: was taken from buffet and not even warmed Garlic Shrimp: mostly vegetables Seafood pasta: ok Boneless Chicken and cheeses: ok Place attracts tour operators so avoir ordering similar food that is already served on buffet. If they improve their food place would be fantastic, since they offer nice location and live music.

I like the baked beef lasagna, margarita and cantaloupe melon. The ambiance is so nice perfect for romantic dates and with songs for serenade. One thing is, there is one waiter who is not accommodating he is not customer friendly.

Dropped by for a quick dinner initially but due to its cozy ambiance, it turned into a very romantic dinner. Food tastes excellent, i highly recommend paella de mariscos. Staffs are very attentive to your needs. A must visit restaurant when you are in intramuros.

The place is near San Agustin Church. The restaurant is at the 2nd floor. They offered buffet as well though we ordered ala carte. Buffet is available during fridays, saturdays, and sundays, both lunch and dinner. The Kare-kare is not that good for me since I prefer peanutty, this kare is not that tasty, it seems that its meant to have bagoong or rather the taste of it is dependent on their bagoong. The tortang talong is great. Their staff are attentive though there’s one who just took our catsup without asking, perhaps it’s because we have emptied the serving plate of the tortang talong and leave the catsup there. Good thing is I asked for another catsup and the staff apologized as well. Calamares Fritos is the best, must try. Also they have a music band that plays old songs which made the dining experience better.

What an amazing place in old Manila. Three levels of different dining experiences. Daily cultural shows on level 2. It was surrounded by an amazing collection of antiques and ornaments. We were at level 3 for walk-in guests and had a couple of desserts and a few drinks. Yummy food. The service was fantastic and the manager was very friendly and informative. A must visit.

I recommend for the tourist who wants to try Philippines food and watch the culture performance. I went there for a buffet; they all delicious, clean, and enough for everyone. Someplace they did not refill the food, but this place all food always full. The shows are exciting and also the music is lovely. You should make a reservation because you can get an excellent table to watch the show or to get the food easy.

I've been in Intramuros multiple times already but it's my first time to dine at Barbara's. We had dinner here for our company team building. I liked the ambience and overall atmosphere of the place - very vintage and somehow romantic even the restrooms! Our food was served buffet style, consisting of the ff: dishes: Fish Fillet with Tartar Sauce, Beef Caldereta, Pansit Sotanghon, Chicken with Peanut sauce, Tortang Talong, Palitaw, and Canonigo. Everything was delicious and the service is okay.

Amazing food! Everything was so flavorful. The arroz Cristina was very unique, the pumpkin soup had nice hints of ginger which set it apart from other pumpkin soups, and I loved how peppery the steak was. The banana sesame was perfect too- nice and crisp on the outside and perfectly sweet. Halo-halo was good as well but the shaved ice was hard to separate -- but you can just ask for the waiter's help if you get this problem too. Around 7pm, a trio was also playing crooner type music and that complemented the overall feel of the restaurant. Great place to visit in Intramuros.

Big place. It is an events place too. Though poor service when we dine-in there. Very cold atmosphere 👍 Great food. Has variety of choices. Comfort rooms for male and female. They have a buffet area. Also have musicians/singers 😊 Great place for romantic date 😍 Affordable and big servings 👍 Will be coming back 👍😊

Absolutely stunning buffet area, a perfect place to bring a date, business associate or family. Notwithstanding, The place being a number of years old, it still retains its charm. The furniture still looks grand and the staff well trained. Bring a bdo card and get 50 percent off. Come on a weekday lunch for the best deal.

My go-to buffet option. Good selection of food (both cooked and serviced), and it's inexpensive (and usually on a BDO promo most of the year). It's a pretty quiet place with nice staff and good ambiance. Highly recommend it.

Had lots of expectations upon visiting. But the restaurant has lost its glory due to Covid lockdown. There are no more cultural performances like they used to have. The whole upper portion is closed. Only a small dining area indoor and one outdoor is open for now. The antique store is open. The entrance to the museum is at the back. Food was average. The dessert Brazo de Mercedes was good. ♿🚫Not wheelchair accessible as the restaurant is divided in to different floors and there's only stairs. The whole restaurant is an old building including different dining areas, party areas, open spaces, antique store, and terrace too.

Barbara's is co-located within the Casa Manila in Intramuros. It offers various Filipino fare in its menu. Dining experience is also even highlighted with a cultural show featuring dances accompanied by local Philippine instruments and performed by eager young men and women. It is usually done during the evenings and song numbers are also included.

We got a cute table, however the cloth was still dirty from the previous guests. The food was good. We ordered spaghetti. There was a birthday party with live music. They offer a buffet with lots of traditional filipino food. I was a bit disappointed by the 'fresh fruit platter' - expected a bit more fruit, but all in all it was a nice place to eat lunch.

After I completed a tour of Intramuros yesterday, I was searching for a restaurant that served local cuisine that I could sit down at. I asked in another store I visited, and was recommended to visit Barbara’s. When I arrived, I ordered from the a la carte menu, although most patrons enjoyed the buffet, which looked nice. The prawn appetiser was particularly delicious, perhaps a bit peppery for some who don’t like heat, but I really enjoyed it. I got talking to my server, Capt George, who was such a lovely man. He was very welcoming and attentive and a great representation of the restaurant in my opinion. He told me that he has worked at Barbara’s for 28 years and it is his final year before he retires. I wanted to write a review to say thank you for making my trip to Barbara’s memorable and I hope you enjoy your retirement completely as you have certainly earned it!

We had an amazing time attending the Kultura Filipina Dinner Show last week! The buffet spread was delicious - especially the pancit sotanghon, lumpiang shanghai, beef caldereta, and roast beef. For dessert, we loved the canonigo, palitaw, and chocolate cake. It was lovely getting serenaded by the pre-show trio, and we were impressed that they were able to sing a French song as requested by one of the other tables! When the main show started, we were blown away by the talented rondalla ensemble and the graceful dancers with their beautiful costumes. We even got to try our hand dancing tinikling! All in all, our visit to Barbara's was truly such an enjoyable and memorable experience. This is definitely a must-visit for both tourists and locals!

Step back in time and enjoy the hospitality at Barbara's at Intramuros. For food you can choose between the plentiful hot and cold food buffet or you can order off the menu. There is live traditional music prior to the show starting. Star of the night is the traditional dancing Definitely worth a visit!

Traditional Filipino food at a good price. It takes you back to the best of times for Manila's old upper class. Musicians playing at your table reminded us of Mexican mariachis.

When staying in the Intramurso in Manila I decided to go to the popular "Barbara's Heritage Restaurant" for an ala carte dinner. They also do a buffet service with entertainment each evening. I assumed that the ala carte would be separate to the buffet... It wasn't, it was all in the same dining area. The restaurant was noisy and felt like an all inclusive restaurant in a low grade hotel. I selected the 'Beef Caldereta' from the menu (which said it was good for sharing) and when it came the portion size was tiny and every single piece of beef in the dish was fatty, chewy and gristle. Frankly it was inedible. I asked to speak to the manager and I sent the dish back (something I would never normally do). The manager offered me alternatives but I declined and left, the dish was removed from my bill, so that was good customer service. All in all a VERY disappointing experience and I certainly would not recommend this restaurant or visit it again.

I reserved a month ahead but when I went there they can’t find my name although we were seated right away. Also, the food are accurately prepared the Filipino way and there are Filipino traditional folk dances as well which made my foreigner guests to appreciate the Filipino culture. I was able to reconnect with Filipino traditional dances as well.

We are looking for merienda at Casa Manila when we saw this restaurant🍴. Good that the place is airconditioned so right to compensate the tiresome walking in Intramuros and hot sunny day. 🌞😎 I love all the food they served here. And for me, the best pancit canton is here 😋. Though their food is not budget friendly, I would still recommend this restaurant. Will allot more budget next time we visit Intramuros 👍👍👍

It was a great way to get a glimpse in one place, in one night, of the different culinary options the Philippines has to offer, along with some of their traditional dances. The house is nice, the furniture as well, service is helpful and accommodating and the buffet is varied. Dancers and musiciens feel cramped in the somewhat small space reserved to them but dances are interesting and costumes are colorful. I suggest going in any case. Buffet is 1000 pesos, without drinks.

  • 4/5 Bernadette E. 4 years ago on Google
There’s a wide variety of food and the music and dances are also very entertaining. Guests can also try the Tinikling. Many foreigners come to partake of the whole experience. It’s pricey but if you’re a tourist in Manila, it will be worth it. I would say the food does not taste as great but this is an immersive experience so it would be nice to get to do this if you happen to be in Intramuros.

The worst experience we had in the Philippines. We went to Barbara's for lunch after a long morning walking around the old town. The food was terrible. It was a buffet lunch, which I am usually sceptical of. And this lunch did not disappoint. The food was cold and seemed as if it had been sitting in the dishes for days. The food smelled terrible, mirroring the smell vitiating the whole city. And it tasted even worse. None of the dishes were labelled so it was impossible to ascertain what anything was, although one cook did point to a mystery meat saying it was cow internal organs - this would explain a lot. I've seen reviews praising the restaurant's ambience. The décor was out-there, which some people might find charming. However, we thought it was outdated and rundown. The tables were shabby and table clothes looked tatty. The only positive was the live music, however even this because annoying when they surrounded your table and insisted on playing a whole set to you.

We went here because our target resto was full and tried the ala carte menu. It had 4.2 stars in google. We went home disappointed. 1. Bad service. There seemed to be no system for the waiters. Orders had to be followed up by guests and they had the gall to ask guests to repeat their orders. We waited for 30 mins to get served. There was this lady just going around retreiving the menus from people. The waiters are everywhere but seem to be nowhere. We had to ask twice for our bill and thrice followed up our food! Waiters kept convincing us to just go for the buffet. 2. Bad food. Their paella was dry. Only the plate was hot but the food inside wasnt. Their mushrooms seemed like they were just from a can. 3. My husband got bit by mosquitoes. The feel of the place is very old-Manilaesque which is nice but the floor carpet seemed to not have been kept well.

Manila's top Filipino-themed restaurant located in the Spanish-era old district of Intramuros. A must-visit for locals and tourists with its great-tasting dinner buffet and cultural show featuring the dances from all over the archipelago. Its Castillan ambiance and the Attic Museum upstairs transport you back to a glorious bygone era. The location is very strategic as it is the heart of the heritage zone just across San Agustin Church, a Unesco World Heritage Site.

If you're after feeling nostalgia about our filipino dining heritage, this is the place. Had lunch buffet and food is amazing. Excellent service as well with lots of smiles and a lively string band is just perfect. Great place to take family pictures as the interiors were unique and well thought of. Sure wish we could try having dinner buffet as I heard lots of good reviews about their nightly cultural show. Parking can be a problem though as we had to go around the area a couple of times just to find a place to park.

One sad touristic place, with tired tables and chairs, dusty colonial Spanish style decoration, sloppy service, government musicians, and very poor food quality. I'm not a buffet fan, and even less after that one. The best moment of the meal is when the bill comes, Because it's time to head to Starbucks for a well deserved espresso.

Buffet choices are basic and few but really good quality. The salmon and tuna sashimi were fresh and nicely cut. The shrimps and clams were big and fresh too. Loved the grilled beef sirloin more than the roast. For a price of P1,250 (50% off care of Eatigo app), im not complaining. Migth consider coming back in the future if i wanna pig out on seafood. Great service.

Wonderful buffet spread at the New World Manila Bay Hotel. Good if you have a credit card partner that gives you a discount. I love the seafood stations with oysters, crabs, shrimps, and mussels and the Japanese station with maki, sashimi and tempura. They also have delicious cakes and deserts. Drinks like iced tea, sofa and local beers go with the buffer price. Additional 499 pesos for wine choices.

They have museum too but I didn't get to see it because it's already closed when I got there. 15 php per head, if you want to go the museum, btw! So, I recommend this place if you guys are looking for good and relaxing ambiance!

Wonderful hospitality and service can be found in this classic Filipino restaurant. Upon entrance you are greet by a kind waiter that promptly shows you to your table. That's not all to this place, they serve some of the most flavourful filipino cuisine especially the bistek filipino and the chicken pork adobo that I ordered. Definitely an essential stop when in Intramuros.

It was a great experience. The environment is quite cool with it's vintage and old interior design. The adobo rice si so nice it's satisfying to eat, also the halo halo is so delicious and so creamy. The barbara's Dream coctial is so cute and nice. We will try the other dishes next time we go. It's quite pricey but it is satisfying.

Initially, we wanted to have dinner at La Cathedral cafe but we have to wait in line so we decided to eat at Barbara's and it never fail us. We'll be coming back for the beef salpicao and for the old fashioned vibes.

Enjoyed our dining experience here. Didn't think the foods were that affordable. There's also a group who can serenade or entertain you with your preferred song (give them a tip of course). Tho there isn't any ACU at the time we went here. Reference for prices are found in their fb page. Prices for a meal is at around 150-200php.

Nice place. The ambiance is good but the service is not. They seems to be in a hurry for you to get out even though you want to stay a little bit long. They made last order call around 7:30pm when it should be 8pm as per confirmation earlier with front desk. They started cleaning our tables when there were still some left over and not even asking if were finish. And finally handing us our bill even though we have not yet ask for it.

  • 5/5 Jenesis A. 2 years ago on Google
We had Paella, Caldereta, and Salpicao as recommended by the attendant . You can request to have these served for a group, rather than per plate. We added Fried Chicken and Prichon as well. The food was okay and was affordably priced. The ambience is topnotch. It made the food taste better.

  • 2/5 Luke P. 2 years ago on Google
A very weird dining experience, felt treated differently in a bad way compared to the local Filipino diners. We got sat at a table without a table cloth or a fan near by. I expected better food from the reviews and also the price. The cuts of meat in the kare kare was very underwhelming. The beef portion on our other dish was very small. The tacos were the only decent part of the meal and I like Filipino food!

If you want to eat at an authentic restaurant that will take you back to a bygone era, then you need to try Barbara's. With lavish interiors and authentic Filipino dishes, taking your guests here or taking your loved one for a romantic dinner is always a treat. This place never fails to impress. Parking can just be difficult.

Best sisig in my life, no doubt about it. I was not a fan of the pinakbet (its my go to pinoy food) but its a provincial version of pinakbet so maybe its how it always tasted for other people (I think it was pampanga?). I could not really judge the food seeing as we only ordered two dishes since I was with my girl cousin and we both did not overindulge. But I urge you guys to try other foods, maybe I’ll come back and try what you’ll recommend. Ambience and interior design wise they relied too heavily on the interior of the house and did not do anything to emphasize the history a la Las Casas Filipinas style, I feel they could have done more seeing as they’re literally in the middle of Intramuros. (Disclaimer I’m not a designer so I’m not able to put into words what’s missing ✌️). Maybe they could not have painted over with white walls, used rattan chairs, and put creepy yellowish chandeliers to preserve the medieval ambience? *edit = They do have interior design game. Me and my cousin were just in the first floor restaurant coz the pretty second floor with the five star interior design was used at an event that time. So I advise you guys to request for the second floor when you visit ❤️ Also, parking may be difficult although it is directly across San Agustin Church and it does have parking tho.

Another old-Manila-type of restaurant that you find inside Intramuros, just right across San Agustin Church. Food was good, a hispanic-era ambiance if you look at their walls, ceilings, chandeliers, windows, tables and even the stairs, it brings you back to the Jose Rizal era kind-a-feels. I love the stairs as you enter the restaurant. Place is a bit small since there are a lot of dining tables. Buffet area is small especially when most customers line up for the food. But with the food, taste-wise, it's good! Pricey but it's worth it (ambiance and taste). Salad, roasted beef and mashed potato were great! Caldereta is also good. Their bananacue, kamotecue and palitaw are all good.

A must visit. Beautiful environment. Very pleasant and overall professional staff. Live traditional music and dancing show every evening. Delicious food. Just consult the meal you want to order with the waiter so you don't get what you did not expected.

The place is old but at least it gave a different ambiance from the usual restaurant. The signature salad has perfect mix of fruits, greens and nuts. They have a buffet for lunch and dinner, which seems costly, but they served rare Filipino food such as 'Papaitan' and 'kuhol'.

Inside the historic walled city of Manila is a beautiful quaint restaurant that will make you travel back in time. Barbara’s Heritage Restaurant will let every visitors experience dining like an Illustrado during the Spanish era. The restaurant offers home-cooked, Spanish-inspired meals meticulously prepared for their guest’s satisfaction. The restaurant is actually a part of the grand houses in Barrio San Luis, also known as one of the four original villages of Intramuros. It is right across  San Agustin church and bounded by Calle Real, General Luna, Cabildo, and Urdaneta streets. The other two grand houses are the Los Hidalgos, c. 1650 and Cuyugan Mansion, c. 1890. My family and I visited Barbara’s Heritage Restaurant after attending my sister's graduation at PICC. It's quite convenient since it's just 10mins drive. The restaurant’s exterior and interior look like an old-fashioned Spanish home that gives a nostalgic atmosphere. If you love classic things, you’ll surely enjoy visiting here. The large dining area has a lot of stylish chandeliers, beautiful antique wooden furniture, fabulous wall mirrors, and old portraits. And to set a relaxing mood, they have musikeros inside that were so good and friendly too. As for the food, here's what we ordered: 10/10 Paella de Mariscos - definitely a must try 8/10 Sugpito Tiger Prawns Sinigang - too sour for me 7/10 Beef Kare Kare - just a usual Kare Kare, what we dont like is the bagoong. Taste us unusual. 10/10 Grilled Vegetables with Pesto - this is so yummy! you have to try it! 9/10 Lemon Chicken Pepper We enjoyed the food, especially the flavorful Paella and veggies. The food served is well-cooked and presented in an appetizing manner. The servers are friendly, polite, and attentive. The serving time was more than 30 minutes, which is understandable since they cook the food as you order.

Barbara’s Heritage Restaurant is one of the must-dine places in Intramuros. It is nearby the famous Manila Cathedral, and just in front of centuries-old San Agustin Church. The main theme of the restaurant is old colonial Philippines, and offers buffet or plated food. The place is almost always full so reservation is a must. There will be also a performance of Filipino folk dances, where diners especially foreign tourists are delighted to join as locals teach them the dance towards the end of the performance. Expect the price to be expensive, as this is one of the top-tier restaurants inside the walled city of Intramuros.

Barbara's is a nice place to dine - old Spanish heritage house, good local food that pampers the palate, a trio of musicians belting out popular English. Filipino & Spanish songs. Quite an appropriate place for lunch after soaking up the beauty & artistry of San Agustin Church located across Barbara's - a tourist "must visit".

The restaurant is located inside the Casa Manila at center of Intramuros. Barbara’s Heritage offers a Filipino Spanish theme in terms of music and food. We chose to eat at the cafe close to the fountain in the yard. I got the opportunity to see their buffet upstairs. Amazing place and interior. My fish was very delicious. Good quality but expensive.

The food is average. I enjoyed more the desserts. Some of the food on the buffet spread were not kept on the acceptable temperature. Traditional dance and music lightens up the ambience.

This restaurant has an amazing ambiance. It took us way back in history. Live performances are the most attractive feature. And the amazing food 😋. What one can wish for. I took my Indonesian friends to this restaurant just to introduce Indian cuisine. Chef Ram was mind-blowing with his spices and curry. Everyone liked it.
