Celebrated all our birthdays with one splendid dinner. Never thought that Filipino food could be intellectualized and brought up to gourmet standards. Nestled in the heart of Malate, Manila, it’s a perfect spot for a surprisingly delicious Filipino fusion spread. Local and simple ingredients like “sili” (hot pepper) leaves, “kamote” (sweet potato) and more were elevated to fine dining quality. I was skeptical of spending so much for Filipino fare. But, I left a believer and proud of the creative chef who put this menu together. (Included in our menu were Nilutik, pumpkin soup cooked with coconut milk and sprinkled with toasted palapa; Dumpling, shrimp & mushroom wrapped in homemade crystal wrappers served with soy ginger dip.)

In the heart of the old district of Malate, in an old house built in 1949 is the Purple Yam kitchen. Here they make fresh, delicious food that's priced higher than others but only because their food quality is a cut above others. If you care about what you eat, then you'd be delighted with what they have to offer.

Great Thai restaurant- one of the best I’ve had in the Philippines. The only disappointing dish for me were the chicken wings, which were puny (I mean come on, they split the flat down the middle into two pieces) but every other dish was spot on. Favourites were the prawn crackers, which were a great accompaniment to the AMAZING sauce they were served with, and the catch of the day, fried whole red grouper which was delicate if expensive, and paired with a beautiful sweet chili-like sauce. Can’t wait to try the more spicy dishes when I’m back in the Philippines.

Came here for brunch and was really impressed with the options. Shared ricotta pancakes, brioche French toast, and chicken and waffles. Each dish is pretty heavy and rich, it was a bit ambitious to order 3 plates between 2 people. The pancakes had a nice balance of sweet and savory. The waffles were a bit bland but the chicken and gravy were delicious. The brioche was a bit overkill, it doesn't need any syrup since it's quite sweet and almost custard-like.

I wouldn't recommend for this place the waiter service was good but the manager isn't I had shakshouka plate and the taste was awful that I couldn't eat it the tomatoes sauce was actually a tomato paste no one can eat it and it is burning you and we told the waiter about it at the time. But when we ask for the bill and told them to give a discount for the bad plate the manager refused and she said no discount and we have to pay the full amount!!!!?

We were the only two guests. The restaurant is inside the owner's house and could comfortably seat up to around 20 people. We had wonderful, fresh, and locally sourced 7 course meal. The waiter was very knowledgeable and professional.

This local restaurant is just amazing: delicious food, great prices and excellent service. One of the best meals we had in our 2 months trip in the Phillipines. We tried the grilled pork belly and Bicol Express (spicy) with rice. And unlimited calamansi, chilli and soup. It was pretty croowded at noon, so we had to wait 5 minutes to get a tablle.

Eating during lunch time here is a good choice! Every meal was served hot and delicious! Must try, beef caldereta!!?

I went back here (alone) for lunch when I had the chance because the food here was really good. Yes, they are expensive but you get what you pay for. I wanted to try many things on their menu but I can't possibly finish them all so I ended-up just trying the prawn rolls and my favourite Mango Sticky Rice... and they were really good. Service was also first rate.

The bread is nice and crunchy on the outside, and the soft warm inside is perfect! Oh and we havnt even gotten to the butter! It’s such a perfect ratio/mix of ingredients that it goes so well with the bread!

I ordered Salmon Tartine and Golden Juice. The baba ghanoush on the tartine was overwhelmingly salty. It would have been better with little to no salt since the salmon was already salted as well as the olives. I enjoyed the juice. It helped cleanse the saltiness. Would have wanted to try other things on their menu but I doubt I'll go back.

The Breakfast plate with bacon was so yummy though the bacon slab didn't look as thick when we first ate there. The crispy potatoes were indeed very crispy. I love the toasted baguette that came with it, so crunchy. The baked fluffy pancake was so fluffy it melts in your mouth. The lemon curd had just the right tartness to complement the blueberry compote. All in all a very hearty breakfast shared with my niece!

What is it? Pet food? Meal for birds? Tiny size but 690 peso, only 3 prawns, 5-6 leafs.
