Where to even start with this place.... I visited last night after seeing it pop up in google search saying that it was one of the best restaurants in the area.... that turned out to be a lie. The food was mediocre, but what else can you expect when ordering Mexican food in the Philippines. However, I was still going to leave it a decent review until the bill came. We ended up having 2 beers each and a few of their combos, but once the bill came we noticed that the bill had extra beers listed on the receipt that we didn't order nor consume. We told the waitress who literally served us the entire meal and she looked at us as if we were dumb and said you did order all of that. Long story short, she lied to us in our faces and over charged us. I can't imagine how many others they do this to on a daily basis. If she was hurting that bad and really needed a few bucks extra, she could've asked and to be fair the tip we were going to leave would've been more! Very dishonest business and I would never recommend it to anyone!

The San Francisco sisig style street tacos were outta this world!! It’s a beautiful fusion of cultures thou I am still unsure of the meaning of the San Francisco element of the name given that I’ve spent a lot of time in that city and haven’t seen anything like this offering. Despite that it was quite enjoyable! I enjoyed the horchata as it had a creaminess to it that was just what I needed to combat the excessive heat of Manila. I’d say the street tacos I tried were authentic and the prices were fair for the portion & taste of the items I paid for!

Location: El Chupacabra, Felipe St. Poblacion Makati City Ratings: Food taste and quality: 4 Value for money: 4 Ambience: 4.5 Customer service: 4 Overall: 4 Review: My favorite is the Gonzo Chicken Adobo & Garlic Rice (₱300.00). The shredded chicken is tasty and the whole bowl is very filling. Another must try is their Chicken Enchilada (not in the photo) and Arroz Ala Cubana (₱293.00). For their beverage, try the Mexican drink, Horchata. Don't order their softdrinks! It's too expensive; triple the price. I got shocked that it was ₱100+ for 1 can of soda! They have two separate areas, the open air and air conditioned. Of course, I opt for the latter. Of course, try their street tacos (which they are known for), enchiladas and burritos.

Unpretentious, but authentic. Pricing was good, there are a lot of options (including for those who are vegan). Tacos tasted great, even the juice tasted amazing. I also like the atmosphere and the fact that they don’t play tacky songs in the restaurant. For a moment I was transported to Guadalajara or Mexico City. Neighborhood is also quite chill. I will certainly come back.

(Translated by Google) 🇲🇽🌮🌯Rough looking and a bit scruffy Mexican restaurant, but with good food and ok prices. It is located a stone's throw from Makati's red light district (Pueblacion / Burgos). It is a semi streetfood (the grill is in the street) with tables inside. The clientele is varied, many Westerners here (likely this place is listed on a lonely or routard guide). Must try if you are in Makati. Good food. Dear friend, I advise you not to use the credit card here (maybe they clone them?)

Great tacos and atmosphere! Good for a late-night bite to eat and drinks with friends. I recommend the fish tacos and vegetarian “chorizo” for a plant based option.

I would give this place 4 stars if I wasn’t traumatized by the giant rat in the ladies room! Food was great but the rat just overshadowed my whole experience. I also feel embarrassed as a Filipino since there were lots of foreigners eating there at that time. A British guy was standing by the restroom door hearing me scream inside the ladies room.

The tacos were good.. but way too expensive. Imagine even in the US, tacos are usually $1.50 (75php) and in Mexico around 25php.

Used to be good, but quality has really gone downhill.... Order was not correct despite it being read back to us. And it took a very long time to prepare. I don't know if I would come back here again

Unbeatable street tacos and their chicken skewers are legendary! Always fresh and packed with flavour El Chupacabra is a local favourite. Cool vibe great service and value for money. Best to pregame before a crawl around poblacion or best cure for the drunken munchies after crawling in poblacion;)

The food is not bad but the service is so so so so bad I can’t give anymore than 1. Lazy rude disinterested, git order wrong, didn’t give two damns. Never said hello goodbye thank you. Appalling.

A must-try low-key restaurant. I ordered Carne Asada (grilled steak), S.F. style pork sisig and eggs ( rice plate), and Pollo Asado ( grilled chicken). I couldn't finish the burrito in one seating. The spicy salsa was the best! They only had soda when I went there. I will definitely go back.

Hands down the best Mexican food I’ve ever had! Authentic and delicious street tacos with good atmosphere. My favorites are the Quesadilla with Mexican Ground Beef or the Al Pastor soft shell tacos.

We had three tacos for snacks, the chicken, minced beef and steak. The sauce were fantastic but it was not worth for the price and serving size.

We had carnaasada tacos, quesidilla, con carn chili and chips, corona, and a Margarati. The food was good but the Margarita was hot and the place was very hot inside, no air-condition anywhere. Eat and quickly leave is my suggestion, skip the Margarita. 30 dollars or about 1,500 pesos, higher then California prices for what we got for Mexican food. If it's cooler we may go back.

Very limited space, as inner dining area is closed. Dine-in orders take abnormally longer to be served, while delivery orders are continuously completed.

Great Mexican bar, serving soft tacos and Tex Mex tacos as well. Loved their grilled beef salad tacos or something. They serve local beers, hard drinks and cocktails. Definitely lovelier on night time when it is a crowd drawer in Poblacion. May pop in one evening soon and check it out!

Loved the vibe at this little taco spot. The al pastor taco was the fan favorite, and the carne asada wasn’t too shabby either. Decent chili con queso. Butterscotch pie was perfect for sharing. Definitely worth a visit.

This is the holy grail of Mexican restaurants. 5 years ago I was working in Manila and I would visit this joint almost everyday. 5 years later I'm back for a visit and this place hasn't changed a bit. Simply amazing.

Food's still pretty good. Though the airconditioned area is now closed so seating's very limted. Be sure you're willing to wait, especially during the weekends! Horchata also wasn't available when we visited.

The food is good, i love the sauces. I ordered combo meals i could try most of their food it was good. I would definitely come back. Service was little slow, atmosphere could be more better cleaning and some upgrading. Definitely love the quesadilla

Original Mexican tacos. Delicious and authentic. Pretty steep prices though (1 taco 2,5 USD.9

  • 3/5 Brian 5 months ago on Google
I enjoyed the carnitas and the hard shell tacos. Avoid the corn tortilla street tacos, I’m not sure what these tortillas are made out of but they are really awful. The carne asada was edible but had a really staring flavor(tasted as if it had tons of cumin). The atomic salsa is really good, with a good amount of spice The service at this place is really bad. They often leave the dining room area completely unattended and also they are not friendly at all. The staff walk around like zombies and hardly speak. Overall, it’s not a bad attempt at Mexican food for the Philippines. I’ll probably be back to try again.

The food here is okay, especially for the price. Service was good and we liked the overall atmosphere but we can only recommend the fish taco, the rest was a bit disappointing.

  • 4/5 Danee G. 8 months ago on Google
Food is ok. Service is great considering how crowded it was and hard to move. I get a little anxious if I eat in places that are too dark to see if the floors and tables are clean so I guess I'm biased on judging tge atmosphere here.

  • 4/5 Lim Hsien H. 10 months ago on Google
Food is really good here. Freshly prepared, not too heavy and hence you can try out more stuff. This is my first visit to an authentic Mexican resto so I must say I liked it, especially the nachos and tacos. Very tasty. Too bad some items that I wanted to try were sold out. Service was good and attentive. The only small grouse I have is if seated on the inside, it can get very very noisy.

We’ve been here many times. Seems like the taste isn’t consistent. Carnitas beef or pork street taco is my fav. 💖 Ambiance is nice 😊 Burrito is nice too 😊 Cheeseburger rolls is 🫤 not fresh Fish taco is 🫤 Physical store is outside SM Clark near parking area.

Hands down one of the most delicious street tacos I've ever tasted. The place is also hip and popular with foreigners. I'm sure the food is good with booze as well, but I just don't feel like drinking today.

  • 5/5 Al D. 2 years ago on Google
I always have a blast here. The reasonably priced margarita Chupacabra is one of my favorite drinks. The Mexican food is the best in Manila (together with that of Mexicali, its partner restaurant). All in all, Chupacabra is one of my favourite bars anywhere. I wish I was there now actually 🙂

  • 4/5 Adam D. 1 year ago on Google
The most authentic Mexican I’ve had outside of Mexico. Tacos were great, service fantastic. If they had AC and comfy seats I’d give five stars. Was hot as balls in there in April.

  • 5/5 Chokesnicely 1 year ago on Google
The food was great and affordable (especially for the area). The salsa was good and the overloaded nachos truly were filled to the brim with fillings and sauces. Best of all, the camaron tacos were not spared the shrimp, it was overflowing to the point the soft shell tortilla could not hold all of it in. Would visit again.

If you crave for Mexican food can try this restaurant located in one of alley in Makati. They serve authentic Mexican foods and taste good. They do not allow for reservation, so it’s all by luck whether you need to wait or not since they have limited tables only. Food: 4.5 stars Environment: 2.5 stars Worth to try: 4.5 stars Value of money: 4 stars

My all time favorite Mexican restaurant! After so many years, the food quality remains the same. They offer the Most delicious tacos. Today we had carne asada and the carnitas. Their Quesadillas is also very flavorful! We keep coming for its chill vibe and atmosphere. Thankful for the polite service all the time! Keep it up!

The food is best. Rest needs change. After lock down almost all the restaurants are hygienic, clean, bright. But this place is still the same with dark walls. It needs change if they need money to earn. Atlest the wall color and lights. Street Cat, dog simply comes inside the staff is not really inte to look around. Staff is humble and flexible as always. Temperature was not checked nothing was taken in writing while we entered. Hence, please change this.

Nice to place to dine or take-out because the food is great and budget friendly. Staff are friendly and helpful. A MUST NOT MISS are their barbeque pork and chicken AND their Spicy Chili Sauce. Wow!!!! Please do call beforehand to check if they have their barbeque as on certain days they don't have it. If that is the case, the quesadillas and other dishes are just as great. Their chicken is also superb. No regrets......

This is the sit down restaurant and drinking hole for the Mexican fast-food chain Mexicali. They serve Tex Mex food but they also have a vegan menu. Their Street tacos are delicious and relatively inexpensive but their menu is pretty comprehensive with plenty of choices.

  • 5/5 Rohan M. 2 years ago on Google
Everything is tasty here - tacos, burritos, and they have a great beer selection to wash it down with too! This place is hidden away down a small street, but is easy to find as there is generally a crowd of people inside (either waiting to be seated, or to take food away). The main area of the restaurant at the back has been closed temporarily because of the pandemic so waiting times are longer, but even with delivery, the food arrives fresh and tasty. My favourite burrito in Manila, so far!

Food is delicious! We had chips & salsa, carne asada, ground beef tacos, fish tacos - all of which we enjoyed immensely. Service is also good. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because there’s no parking. We went on a Sunday before noon so we lucked out on street parking. Otherwise, parking is a nightmare. Probably better off taking Grab taxi.

(Translated by Google) Nice food, the place will improve with more ventilation so you don't get out smelling like if you were in a BBQ. Nice music, affordable prices and not only Mexican food but a combination of LA options, including Colombian patacones. Too good that they have vegetarian options. Positive: the taste is good, they have a lot of options including vegetarians and some from Latin America like Colombian patacones (too good). Good service and good prices. Negative: there is a little lack of ventilation which makes you feel a bit in the middle of a BBQ Positivo: el sabor, las opciones vegetarianas y el gusto de la comida in general. Los precios son correctos y el servicio amable (al menos cuando fui) Negativo: Se siente mucho el humo adentro, sales con el olor impregnado como si estuvieras en un asado. Recomiendo mejorar la ventilación. (Original) Nice food, the place will improve with more ventilation so you don't get out smelling like if you were in a BBQ.
