I loved the Special Kaisen Chirashi Sushi with miso soup because of how filling it tastes together. I also really liked the Soba Curry. Some items were unavailable so I opted for some Bbq sticks which were alright. I would come back again to try their other sushi bowls or sukiyaki.

This is a long standing Japanese restaurant with good value lunch meals. Unfortunately quality has gone down. The Chirashi I ordered had miserable looking seafood, the fish had a only one old piece of tuna and one old shrimp, and watery uni a far cry from the quality I was used to when the old Japanese gentleman used to oversee the kitchen. Oyster furai had too thick a batter, that although the oysters were done right, the batter was not. So sad, it used to be really good.

Nihonbashi-tei is a middle class restaurant where you can find authentic Japanese meal, whether ala carte or bento. I was looking for rare authentic soda/udon such as tororo (noodle that uses nagaimono or white yam that liquifies when grated) but it is phased out due to non-popularity or less orders received, so I decided to order Kitsune Soba instead. I ordered Fermented Bean Natto mixed with raw egg and eaten outright. There was a yellow wasabi as part of the condiment. It would look unappetizing unless you are Natto fan. Only brave customers can eat Natto mixed with raw egg. Parking lot is spacious and easily accessible along Arnaiz Avenue, near the foot of Skyway. The ambience is great. You may choose to dine-in in the central public table, or choose any VIP Room that is airconditioned and can open or close the sliding door. In the VIP Room, you can easily watch your car being parked outside thru the mirror. In addition, there is a call button in the window that serves as a doorbell for the service crew to approached you. Aside from public or VIP Room, you may opt to eat in the front of food service area. Japanese alcoholic beverages are available, but I am non-alcoholic person. Food is a little bit pricey which includes 10% service charge. Toilet is wide, but the standing men's urinal area stains slightly yellowish. I would rate 3/5 for cleanliness but the dining area is 5/5. Tried Uni Sushi or Sushi with Sea Urchin.

Nihonbashitei will always be a staple for me! The food is always on point, the serving is way more than you'd expect for the price, they have a wide variety of choices, fresh sushi and sashimi, and good sharing options for groups! Sad that the other branches closed, but I'll always be ready to go to their Makati branch whenever!

My go-to place for Japanese food. Everything is absolutely delicious, but make sure to call ahead of time to make sure your items are available. I highly recommend the Spicy Tuna maki! Staff is super speedy and friendly, and the private rooms make dining in during a pandemic much safer. With such an extensive menu, they will most likely have a dish for every person in your party.

We went here at around 3pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t too crowded yet. People started coming in crowds at around dinnertime. I think you can also make reservations with them if you want to make sure you get a seat. There’s a parking area, enough for a full house too. The staff in this restaurant are really friendly and easy to communicate with. We were seated in one of the private rooms and we had a ‘call’ button to easily call for service help. As with the food, you get enough for what you pay for. I’d say the serving for the ramen would be good for 2-3 people. The other meals would be enough for 1-2 people, depending on how much of an eater you are. 😅 If you dine-in between 11am-5pm, most of their meals come with rice, miso soup, iced coffee or nata de coco. Their iced coffee is to die for, especially if you’re looking for something sweet yet bittery! 👌🏼 Overall, this was a good Japanese restaurant experience ⭐️

I am used to the service and food quality of Manmaru and Izakaya Kikufuji. And Nihonbashitei performed poorly compared to them. We ordered more on the veggie dishes and it tasted weird and raw . We reckon it might be the water that they use. Food taste like it came straight from the market. I got disappointed maybe because I got hyped up with the restaurant's reputation from word of mouth. I might visit again hoping their food improves.

Food is worth the cost 😋 PROs : Great service! At this time of pandemic, it's a recommended place to have lunch or dinner with your family. They have small VIP rooms that can accommodate 6 people They sanitize and keep the place clean. I wasn't afraid to have my family dine in (I have a toddler) CONs : Wash room/ Powder room is a bit filthy due to used TPs. They should have it well maintained since they are accepting dine in customers

Great discovery of a new go-to Japanese resto in Makati. Ingredients are fresh and well seasoned.

Great place for authentic Japanese food. I had a craving for soba and liked the kitsune soba. On a Sunday around 1 PM the location was crowded, but we were still able to get a table without waiting and find a parking spot outside the restaurant. My review is 4.5 stars. The parking attendant was very helpful, the maguro sushi was fresh and delicious, and the soba was warm and comforting. However, if you sit towards the back of the restaurant, you may unfortunately smell the smoking room.

Delicious japanese food and friendly staff. I’d give it 5 stars, but there is always something missing from the menu whenever we visit.

Nihonbashitei will always be one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. Their food will never disappoint you. The only reason why I am giving them 4 stars is the poor service.

One of the best Japaneses Restaurant that you'll find in the metro. Delicious Japanese dishes especially the sushi platter that was offered to us. Price is right for all dishes, not too expensive. Their soup is also awesome, served hot and fresh. Highly recommended for groups, like family or barkadas.

Indoor dining only (with some closed rooms) social distancing was observed. Had mixed tempura, gyoza, and karaage, all 3 were served quite quickly. :)

I have now been to this restaurant a few times and all the dishes I have tried have been of very high quality. No problem if on you're own (like me) as you can sit up at the bar and watch the guys make your food. They have tables and also private rooms if you come as a large group although it seems these are booked in advance. As you enter you're given a menu in a plastic folder which has photographs of all the dishes. I have now tried many of the dishes and it's pleasing how large the portions were. I think my favourite is the spicy salmon maki which seemed to be very popular with many other customers too. I can also recommend the seafood curry but there isn't one so far that I would not order again.

Will surely revisit this place countless times! Their spicy salmon sashimi was a delightful treat that left me craving more. Beef teppan was also a bomb!! They have limited parking but there's an attendant who assists.

Nihon Bashitei in Makati has become our go-to Japanese restaurant, consistently delivering delicious dishes. The spicy salmon sashimi, ebi tempura, and chicken karaage are our staples, offering both flavor and affordability in generous servings. Opting to sit at the bar enhances the experience, providing a more authentic touch to our dining. While the dinner rush can make it a bit crowded, the lively atmosphere adds to the charm, ensuring that our visits to Nihon Bashitei are always accompanied by a great time.

The food is really good and comforting here. You can get something new every time because of their extensive menu. I recommend the Gyudon, skewers, and Chazuke (rice with a little broth), and Uni Sashimi. Their sushi is also good but their nigiris all come with wasabi on it. And it seems like they always have something out of stock (laging walang Asari Butter). Their service could be better. If they seat you in the back of the restaurant you’ll have a hard time flagging the waitresses, and the back area has a old wood smell that I hate. You’ll also have to remind them about some dishes that they forget. Atmosphere is ok. Usually people who just came from work, sometimes there will be Japanese people. Parking will be difficult after work hours but there is a valet service.

Great value for the money! Their service was superb. We had our little party in their private room which can accommodate I think, at least 60 people. All of the food that we ordered was served generously and surely satisfied each of us! There is free/ bundled iced coffee too that would definitely refresh your palette. We all loved the foods! For sharing dishes are served with rice too. The staff are accomodating and friendly as well which is a plus factor. We enjoyed our lunch there and had been full!

One of the few restaurants that is still open during late night. Dined here at 12AM and maybe avoid doing so because food quality and service are quite bad vs other reviews I've read here. Staff looked already tired and so not as accommodating vs what others experienced. Ordered niku soba and both the soba & broth tasted good. The meat was okay but debated in my head if it was just my imagination that it had weird after taste. Also had gyoza and probably the worst one I've eaten in my entire life. The wrapper was surprisingly quite tough then the meat inside tasted funky and was really bad.

Best-tasting authentic Japanese Restaurant! 👌 Staff is very accommodating, from reserving a private room to serving us when I dined in. They gave us a warm welcome and Ate (i forgot to ask her name) who served our food was super nice and kind ❤️ it added more to our positive experience. Will definitely come back for more celebrations! Domo arigato!

Loved everything. I ordered beef curry and my bf ordered ebi tendon tempura. These came with free ice coffee. We also ordered the 5 kinds sashimi and miso clam soup. We loved everything. All good. Servings is generous. Super delicious. Service and ambiance is also good.

My friend and I were looking for a place that satisfies two conditions: easy parking with restaurant access and open late. Nihon was the best option in the area because there’s a huge parking area and it’s open until 2am, both of which major plus points. The food, though, was honestly very average. I ordered an oyakodon, she ordered spicy salmon sashimi, and we also got a spicy salmon maki to share. The oyakodon (chicken and egg with rice) was more on the disappointing side as opposed than average, as it was pretty bland and needed more flavor. It lacked sauce and just tasted like boiled chicken with sides. The salmon sashimi and rolls were also just alright. Nothing to complain about, but nothing that really made us go crazy over it. Food-wise, it was a very ok experience overall. Very “mid” food experience based on these three dishes. Maybe the rice bowls are better. But the sushi was just OK. Prices are affordable, too, being around Php300 per dish.

Food serving unbelievably exceeds expectations. I will definitely be back for the other contents of their deep menu. The price is also reasonable. If my doctor will allow, I'll probably eat here lunch and dinner. Service needs improvement. They have a buzzer but the staff doesn't seem to pay attention. Took a while before they got our orders and took a while before we could claim our bill. And it ain't full house yet. There's free parking and the attendants are very helpful too.

Every Japanese Restaurant has a specialty. I would say their best dish would be their sushi and sashimi. Just the most buttery salmon sashimi i know in the Makati and BGC area bar none. It is not the cheapest for its sashimi but I can say it is the best value for its quality. The rest of the food is so-so. Their Ramen is passable at best. I would make an exception though for their Ankake Ramen which is great for its value: large bowl, pork, veggies, seafood, all for just 300 pesos. And if you happen to visit around lunch (until 5:30pm), they have a lunch set which gets you your all-time favorites but now with a serving of salmon onigiri and iced coffee. I guess everything in Nihon is "ok", and would be a great place to go when you are hungry and are too lazy to visit the great ones. But if you are looking for ramen specialists, go to mendokoro, if you want gyudon or katsudon, go to Manmaru, if you want Tonkatsu, go to Terazawa or Yabu.

want to try the uni there but it's not available, it's not available for 2 or 3 times, guess it's very hard to get that. average price it's a little high, kinda can say it's expensive. flavor is good but only good. service is also good as good as other restaurants in little Tokyo.

  • 4/5 Nathaniel M. 9 months ago on Google
It's an old restaurant that serves "ok" Japanese food. Their fish quality is not the best. Newly opened Japanese sushi restaurants offer better quality.

  • 4/5 Patrisha C. 1 year ago on Google
My go-to for a quick sushi fix. The place is pretty big and the food is great, just enough for the price. Their servings aren't as big as they used to be though, but that's understandable.

Been eating here with my parents and siblings since I was a kid. It's always going to be a treat and a pleasure to visit Nihonbashitei. Thank you for keeping the same great quality and food and reasonable prices.

We celebrated my sister's birthday. It was nice to dine and share stories at their reserved rooms. Great food! Loved their asparagus and bacon, kani mango salad, okay, i loved all the food we ordered haha! Not that pricey too! Will definitely recommend to friends! Oh but we parked at mcdo because theirs was full already. So i suggest reserve seats!!

The food was great. I’ve been coming here for nearly a decade now and I noticed that the service wasn’t like how it once was. The waitresses take too long to attend to you, and at one point, no one even cared to escort us to a table. Perhaps it’s better to dine here during the daytime and not past 11PM when the staff are visibly tired. I did enjoy the Special Kaizen Chirashi Sushi plate, which I always order. Their beef teppanyaki was good, too! Would love to dine here again. The service just needs a bit of improvement.

Great Lunch Menu Selection! Mixed Tempura Lunch Set 5-stars. Agedashi Tofu for the win 5-stars. Expect to wait when you come late or did not reserve a spot. It's worth the wait for us.
