Heat at edsa shangri-La is one of my favorite buffet in ortigas . Good food selection and and very friendly staff. The manager was very friendly and show us our table, loved the Japanese section. I had a great time.

The last time I was here was more than 5 years ago. I can say my experience now is totally different. We stayed at the hotel for two nights, during the first breakfast the waitress escorted us to the Lobby lounge because they were fully booked. I took a peak inside and indeed the place was very crowded. All the tables were occupied and the tables were arranged so close to each other obviously to maximize space. At the Lobby were makeshift buffet tables, which unfortunately had fewer selection of dishes compared to inside the restaurant. Quality wise, they seem alright. The next morning we went there around 6 AM and luckily we were able to get a table. Really enjoyed their crispy Bacon paired with salty corned beef. They also had Indian food choices, cakes, fresh fruit juices, and so much more. All in all, the ambiance may have gone south but at least they still serve good food.

With tons of breakfast buffet offerings in the heart of Manila, The Heat proves they can take on 'the heat.' Crafted by the best chefs with the best services, this is the place to be.

A Perfect Place for infinite loop buffet selections from its various expert chefs' cuisine. A spacious and comfortable group table is excellent for family and small gatherings and celebrations.

This is my favorite buffet in the Ortigas area. The selection is great and prices are reasonable. I love the garden view and very friendly and pleasant staff. The only drawback is the limited parking because it's one of the favorite convention hotels. Expert tip is to park at the mall and walk over. Just be careful of the mall closing times or it's a long walk around to get back in. I digress, always an excellent choice of cold appetizers and sea food. Great desserts, decent sushi, so so dimsum, great roasts, grilled meats and noodle soup. The coffee is also quite good.

Fewer selections of viand compared to Niu by Vikings but this is more expensive. The place is huge. You have to pay additional for the drinks. The sweets are yummy. I love their lechon baboy! 😊

Not worth the price and food - not that good. Staff aren't friendly either. Food choices are limited.

Food was nice, I loved the breakfast noodles, the Indian station, bacon and backed beans and the siomai was incredible! Unfortunately the service was off, they sat us to a dirty table and tried to charge us 1500php for kids under 4yo and 1 infant... really? Get back up to Shangrila premium standards please

The spread was impressive especially their seafood section. Everything was delicious even the salad section was exceptional. The wait staff were also attentive. Their Italian section was also delightful, the pasta was al dente. It's definitely worth it.

We had lunch with our godparents here. The buffet was really good and could whet any kind of appetite. The staff were very accommodating. The seating was spacious and cozy, giving a dining experience that was comfortable even when you have kids with you, but relaxed and professional enough to have a business lunch. It had an outside garden view on the sides of the dining area which added to the relaxing ambience. Thank you for sharing our Silver wedding anniversary with us. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choices, probably more than Marco Polo and probably as much as Fresh. Dishes are as tasty as they looked. Loved they have fresh fruit juices included. Seating is cramped but it's because there are a lot of diners on a weekend. So maybe avoid the place on a weekend, but I'm afraid, they might not serve as much food as they do. Hope they bring back the laksa and more Indian dishes. Chocolate drink was a downer because it was too sweet - too much sugar and low on actual chocolate. Don't pass up on doughnuts. Parking slots are few.

Lunch buffet was at P1,980 and food was ok. service was fast when we asked for gloves so we can eat the ahrimps and chili crabs (alimasag) It did not include any drinks, no service water as well. 500ml mineral water was P135, 330ml can of soda is P299 and buko juice was P440. Overall an ok experience but nothing special

I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in the HEAT. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable. Ideal for those who want to try different cuisines and have a special day to celebrate. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding. Overall rating is 5/5 πŸŽ‰

The buffet breakfast is available fridays and weekends and the food is really good considering there is a pandemic and it is expected there will be cost cutting. The coffee is great quality, i love the mango juice, the bacon is crisp and perfect. I also highly recommend the beef tapa and also the pork tapa. The service / waiters and chefs are really nice and accommodating.

I had room service from here a few times and finally got thr opportunity to go to the buffet. Lots and lots of options. Food was fresh and tasted great. Many different options. Not all my cup of tea but still options for people to try. I had an omelet cooked fresh right in the buffet line. It was runny and if it had been cooked longer it would have been perfect. Edit 7/24 The food is still good but the service has tapered off. I came in for dinner and service was not good. Breakfast today and service is not as good as its been. I got up to go to the buffet and came back to see they cleared my spot and left me with no silver ware. As if they believed I had left. Which is weird to me because there was no tip left. And I always tip. I think the issue is the usual server is not in today. He's perfect. And when I see him again I'll get his name and ask for him specifically. Edit 8/10 I went back after the last edit and the servers name is Lawrence. He's the best. He's literally the reason I continued to eat there. Him and Rico. Can't forget Rico always checking to see how me and my coworkers are doing and going the extra mile to bring us fruit with our meals. Lawrence was outstanding. The epitome of great service. He left before my visit ended. I'm not sure if it was vacation or if he found another job. But Heat can use more Lawrences. Ronel took over for Lawrence. He seems new and didn't have the same cadence as Lawrence but he was good none the less. When I return I'll be on the lookout for Ronel also.

Considering the price for their buffet, I will not recommend this place for your Thursday buffet. Honestly, I wasn't excited when I checked the food for my first round. The drinks have additional cost as well if you want to drink something different from water. Even the lighting of the place is not to my liking. It is a bit darker than I would prefer. The service is good though. I think you paid for the service, the comforting carpet, and the experience of eating at Heat.

For our annual medical checkup, my wife and I have always checked "Breakfast at Shang" as our treat of choice. So for the past five years, we've seen how the restaurant has consistently provided five star service--from attending with care, politely offering reads for the day, to guiding us through the buffet that is offered a generous amount selections. However, I think I've stuck with one kind of plate--bacon, eggs, and fruity pancakes. Oh my, their bacon is oddly good--tasty and brought to crisp as instructed. You think that's modest? Lay no judgment as I gobble about five plates of that.

The Heat at EDSA Shangri-La offers a commendable seafood selection, showcasing the freshness and variety of ocean delights. However, my dining experience was somewhat marred by the inconsistent service; the crew appeared inattentive, and there's noticeable need for additional training. Despite the flavorful dishes, the lack of attention from the staff affected the overall enjoyment of the meal. It would greatly enhance the dining experience if the restaurant invested in staff training to ensure a more attentive and customer-focused service. The Heat boasts a tempting seafood spread, addressing the service issues would elevate it to a truly exceptional dining destination.

We did A la Cart as we are tired of Buffet. MANILA has so many buffet options. We ordered the Healthy Breakfast set and the Nasi Goreng. Food was delicious and of great quality. The servers, one named Chritian, were well trained and on point. They understood good service. Will come back here again. NEXT TIME...I'd stay at the hotel as well.

More than enough food selections, and everything I ate was flavorful. I loved the seared tuna with salsa. Service was good and staffs are very helpful, they refill your drink right away. The chicharon needs some heat lamp though, they tend to loose their crisp when exposed to cold air.

Had dinner and breakfast here at 2 separate times. Food is at par with what you could expect from the Shangri La brand. Though the breakfast's price is a tad pricey for the options they offer.

Its consistently a great buffet experience in Heat. Food selection from seafood to meat is excellent. 2 station for dessert is sweet indeed. Huge selection of food to choose from so getting a seat further away from the buffet table will allow you a certain degree of privacy. Walking around a bit is also a good way to digest that hearty meal. What elevated the meal on our table in my opinion is the exceptional service from Chef Louie. We sought him out before we began our buffet for his personal touch for requested meals from the kitchen straight to the table. Shrimp with butter, the tasty lechon with crispy skin or the tender beef salpicao is absolutely delicious. If the food on the buffet table is good... wait till he handles your table. Always an absolute pleasure to dine here with friends and families.

Seafood is fresh. Advisable to book in advance. Not so Crowded if compare to makati Shangri-la buffet. -1 star * As didn't have any ushers when we reached there.

Options are outclassed by most buffets at this price point. Fare was so so. It's not that the food was bad but rather you expect more premium ingredients given the price and the availability at other hotel buffets. Aside from this, service was excellent. Waiters were attentive and offered many times to get us various items from the buffet or various drinks. My glass was always full and they offered all sorts of things for the experience. Moving to parking, the two lane driveway is a bit cramped and can easily lead to traffic when the non valet car is waiting as the road exits to shaw Blvd.

For the price, it was quite disappointing. I can only recommend the Roast Beef, the Chicken Inasal and the pineapple. But then again there is a pandemic.

  • 4/5 jon a. 3 years ago on Google
For the price, with this pandemic, not worth it. I was expecting more like the lobster, sadly, there was none :,( only shrimp and crabs and no drinks were being served aside from water and coffee. understaff, 1 people per station and there was a long line, but I do recommed the US Prime Rib friendly peeps, practice social distancing in the buffet :) I'd probably go back and stay at the hotel but not during pandemic.

Just ate here today. Did not like it. Shrimp and crabs were very bland. Actually most of the dishes were bland. There were a lot of choices but if you are looking gastronomical quality and satisfaction you are better off in other hotel buffets. Staff were really stiff they were professional but you can sense they are not that into what they are doing. Ambience-wise place was too dark not sure if this is intentional due to the "new normal". High notes were the ube ice creame, steak pasta, indian items nothing else. Additinal down side. Buffet does not include drinks they do offer free coffee and tea but we had to shell out additional 280php for cold juice(non-refillable). Then parking was 450php even after parking validation! Wow! When we ate at Circles, Shang Makati parking was free! Had high hopes for this buffet but oh well.

If you are a group of five, you'll be seating so far apart that you can't enjoy each other's company. Doesn't matter if you're from the same household. The waitstaff and cooks are courteous and awesome. Food choices are a bit underwhelming but what was served was awesome. Drinks that come with the buffet price are water, tea, and coffee. I like you Heat, but I have to rank you a few steps down from Cafe Ilang-ilang.

I considered Heat as one of the premier buffet hotel restaurants until I went there to celebrate my friend 's birthday a week ago... They didn't have salmon sushi in stock, limited stock of shrimp even the dimsum area the shrimp hakaw ran out as well. Food selection I felt wasn't that fresh anymore. Maybe it's because it was lunch time and they serve the fresh ones during dinner?
