The garden makes the place look more magnificent. It's a lovely place to hang out with friends or family and to take photos. There are tables and benches inside so it would be nice if they could add a few stands inside since stores are far from where this spot is located. The entrance fee is the same as Fort Santiago's; Php 50 (student and PWDs) and Php 75 (regular).

When I entered the gate, I easily noticed that the area was busy. A lot of visitors were taking photos, having picnic, others were playing, others were eating and the other activities. Because this day is special there's free entrance and activity, stores, arts, and food vendors. The ground is covered with well maintained grass with bricks and artistic rocks on the pathways. The old cannon displayed by the entrance captured my attention because of its unique appearance. 09/2017

Remebered use to just walk around here for free now there is an entrance fee of 75. Quite expensive for a very small area to look around but if the budget is to maintain history its okay. You get a great view of the wall otherside and rock formation in here. There are also some lovely bonsai displayed.

One of the best under rated tourist spot in manila. Its full of history, its clean the staff are friendly, cheap entrance fee. The guard is so nice to give us a tour, give a little history about the place and took our pics. Never miss this place when you visit intramuros. Awesome!

The entrance fee for adult was 75 pesos. Very affordable for the experiences. Since we got here pretty early and on weekday, the ticketing staff had some trouble to find the changes.

Entrance fee is 75p. It is a small place in Intramuros and near Intramuros gate. It is worth to visit.

This fort was initially completed in 1594 and was intended to overlook the Manila bay. Its size and strength eventually became a symbol for the power of Spanish rule – however it was invaded and briefly controlled by the British from 1762. The 3 concentric circles, intended to provide a maze-like mystery have become an iconic national treasure of the country. Don’t forget to also walk around the gardens and read up on the history! In mid-2019, we paid 75 pesos as an entrance fee.

I can say that this is where you can hang out with family or friends. This place has bench and tables to eat and chat with family. It has lots of trees which is a good thing and also plants and flowers. It has entrance fee which is P70 pesos but if it has discount like me a student it'll be P50. We also have kids with us that has no fee since the guard said it. The Restroom is clean and maintained. Overall 10/10.

Baluerte de San Diego is a highly significant historical place. It is one of the oldest and most important fortresses of the old city of Manila. It allows you to see Spanish colonial period architecture and appreciate the hugeness of Intramuros. It is an excellent place to learn about the Philippines' history and the life of Filipinos during the reign of the Spanish Crown. It now has a beautiful garden as well filled with plants and flowers that is definitely relaxing and refreshing. Families will have a great time visiting this place. It has a small entrance fee of about 75 pesos which is very small compared to the history and experience you will get from visiting this spot. It is very accessible by private or public vehicles.

A great place to relax, spend time with family and friends, and celebrate special occasions with a number of guests. Also a great place for photoshoot with the lush gardens as background. A small shop would be nice though where tourists could buy souvenirs, water, etc.

If you are a fan of old architecture like the Spanish era, then this place is a must. There is also a garden and trees. The area is used for events. It is clean and well-maintained. It is a nice place to spend time with family and friends. You can enjoy the place while learning a piece of history

It wasn’t worth 75php entry. There is not much to see and it’s tiny place. When you compare it with the Fort which has the same entry it doesn’t make sense! It’s opened till 5pm, I was there around 4pm and it was empty apart from a few people doing photo shoot and two foreign tourists with a guide.

I asked a couple guides the significance of the bastion and they had no answer. Just wish they had artist renderings of what it was supposed to look like and what all the channels below were. I found this on another site: "Over the years, Baluarte de San Diego underwent a series of repairs and restorations. The baluarte had been breached and fallen in 1762 from the British forces. After the occupation it was restored only to fall again due to earthquake in 1863. Then it was once more destroyed from the Battle of Manila in 1945. The fort's most recent restoration work was completed in 1992."

There are a number of wedding venue options within intramuros--one's on a rooftop, the other's in an old Palacio, there's the hotel, and them lots of plazas. But none of them would bring you as close to the walls, and a corner at that, than Baluarte de San Diego. The first time I went to Baluarte de San Diego was for a cousin's wedding. I'd say it was a real treat for guests--a walk through the entrance paraded by the blue guards, a winding trellis walkway that leads to a field of greens, with the walls and ruins as your backdrop--very dramatic. Over dinner, one is engulfed by the amount of airy space as the flood lamps and event lights try to illuminate that huge expanse. The next time I visited the area was on a cool afternoon to rendezvous with friends at the mobile coffee shop on a Kombi Van. Apparently many people come and visit to walk through the gardens--couples and families alike. Nice place. As an events place though, again the problem is the shortage of parking, which is alleviated by valet and parking attendants.

Built in the 16th century by a Jesuit priest. Originally it was a circular fort and one of the oldest stone fortifications within the intramural district. During the 18th century a foundry housed there of which some old tools can still be seen nowadays . The Baluarte was heavily dammaged after the British attack in 1760 and another time during the earthquake of 1863. It was completely destroyed during the Battle of Manila in 1945. The restauration took many years and finished in 1992. Since then the place is mainly used for wedding celebrations.

The Baluarte de San Diego is part of the medieval fortification complex within the Walled City of Manila or the Intramuros. It is the earliest stone structure constructed by the Spaniards in their quest to consolidate their position here in the islands. It had been breached by the British in their invasion of Manila in 1762. It was excavated by the Intramuros Administration during the late 70s and the early 80s. Restoration work on the structure is still ongoing.

20 years ago, you will be able to walk the high perimeter walls of intramuros without dead ends. But now, they decided to put steel fences between walls on the portion on the baluarte de san diego wall perimeter and require fees to see it.

I was invited to a special wedding that was held after hours. So the place can be rented. It was beautiful. Yet, one can sence the rustic history of the surroundings.

It was a relaxing stroll especially the garden area, its surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately, I got stung by a bee (on my finger & forehead) while walking besides the fence, not particularly sure why bees exist there instead of the garden but for some reason they do. It's all good though, the peaceful vibes nullified the pain completely.

There is a mininal fee collected at the entrance. You can go around to take pictures or read about the place's history on commemorative plaques. Bonus tip: Look for the security guard assigned named Bong. He is quite good on a camera.

While there doesn't seem much to do at this historical site. The view itself is pretty nice. You get to be pretty close to some of the more functional parts of Intramuros City and also get a nice view of the Manila Skyline and the nearby golf course. The grounds that have been erected around the decommissioned fort are pleasant to walk around in and well maintained, so aside from the structure itself there's some nice landscaping to enjoy.

This historical landmark is a great teacher for everyone who wants to learn about what happened in the past. The war, the popular leaders and some kind or defensive structures and etc; but some of the former leaders of the Republic of the Philippines don't have there own 2D carved picture. I think it could be under maintenance of something.

(Translated by Google) Baluarte de San Diego fortress ↓ This station is the standard photo spot ~ Everyone must come! It's five o'clock in the afternoon when we get here, it's almost time for them to close! Originally, the conductor didn't let us in. We ran in secretly ~ Although we sneaked in, we were caught by the conductor and paid the money. Someone in my class and I wondered why you shouldn't collect tickets from us directly at the door and let us in. Just wait for us to run up and collect extra money for us to walk around.唔 ... In fact, when we entered the park, we saw that the ticket booth was closed. Could it be that all the tickets had entered the ticket pocket of the conductor? This is a question worthy of discussion. 🤔 The biggest feature here is the architecture of the Roman-like Arena. After the destruction of World War II and years of weathering, it has been damaged. It is a pity that it has not been preserved to a very complete level, but it also presents this long historical trace, which is very delicious! In addition to the Roman-like buildings mentioned above, walking a little further can see a small road. As soon as you walk in, you will find a retro garden with a classic Renaissance and Goethe feel! It was like a secret garden built in a small corner of the court, and it was very treacherous! In my opinion, this is a good place for secret dating and cheating, definitely 😊 On the side of the road leading to the secret garden, there is a small table that climbs up to overlook the entire fortress and a green meadow. I like it! Very quiet and relaxed. But be careful, it's a little tall, don't fall down! When I was doing my homework, I didn't find much information. Most of the books are in San Diego Fort without San Diego Fortress. So when you search for keywords, you can also use San Diego Garden or Balouate. Check it out in San Diego ~ __P.S 🎉Although there is not much information here on the Internet and there is not much information available at the scene, I can tell you with certainty. It's perfect for outdoor weddings and it's romantic! Excluding the local temperature factor Address 🗺: Sta. I came across this place by chance, having refused the overpriced tricycle tours numerous times, there is an admission fee which amounts to less than two dollars Canadian. But it is so worth it because inside you get to enjoy a beautiful garden, as well as a massive field where you can sit and enjoy at the second level. It’s perfect to relax to when there’s a breeze, from there you’ll also get to see the infamous Manila photo bomber.
