The Manila Cathedral is one of the pillars of Philippine History. Located within the walls of Intramuros. As you are inside, you will feel the presence of the history and God. The ventilation of the church is so relaxing that you can concentrate communicating to God. Of course, the interior ad exterior explains the history itself.

This holy sanctuary has indeed changed a lot from the last time I was here-ages ago! Truly a sight to behold! While it kept up to being a modern cathedral it still maintained its old world charm and beauty!

The manila cathedral is an iconic Catholic church 💛 During the pandemic it pivoted and started having online masses to reach more people. The church is open for visitors to come and pray with proper social distancing. Don't forget to wear your face shield and face masks. Always a beautiful place to pray and silence for quiet time🙏💛

Absolutely love this place!!! The Cathedral is so majestic, huge and awesome from the exterior. However, at the inside, calmness crept in. Very tranquil and serene with rows of benches facing the altar. There are many statues of the Saints, beautiful architectural arches, designed columns as per the colonial times. Glad that all those wonderful structures are well kept and maintained.

One of the historical church in the Philippines built 500 years ago. The Cathedral is really massive and has splendid architecture which has a spanish era feel to it, even though it has been renovated so many times. There are many statues and many ornate decorations. The windows on the top have glass paintings which are really attractive. Cathedral keeps the memories of Pope Fracis's visit years back, which is carved on to the main door. The church is more refined and stylish now. Parking space is at the back of the Cathedral at Anda street. ♿✔️Accessible entrance is at the right side of main entrance. Face shield and mask is a must to enter. There's temperature check at the main entrance. All other entrances are closed for now. As of now there's only one holy mass at 5pm everyday for limited crowd.

Otherwise known as the Manila Cathedral, Pope John Paul II issued a Papal Bull in 1981 designating this cathedral the honour of becoming a minor basilica. Established in 1571, the Manila Cathedral still hosts daily mass, occasional weddings and important occasions such as papal and foreign dignitary visits. There seemed to be a baccalaureate mass during our visit and even though we tried, we could not get in – it was packed. We hope you have better luck as this was extraordinarily disappointing. Anyway, after exploring the Cathedral, turn around and face the Plaza de Roma. Considered the center of the city, this garden used to be an open plaza used for bullfights and other public events. A statue of King Charles IV centres the park in honour of having sent the first ever batch of smallpox vaccines to the Philippines.

Casa Manila is a perfect place to take pictures. They definitely give the old and classic manila vibe. The guards would ask you to download the staysafeph app to fill up a health declaration form, so be sure to have the app ready and you have data connection before going there.

A Roman Catholic church with over 500 years of history. You can read a little about the church's history in the stone inscriptions near the main entrance. It is a well-attended church. Depending on whether you visit the church during the day or evening, you get different experiences. It is definitely worth the visit.

The Philippines is predominantly a Catholic country and thus, the Manila Cathedral (Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception) can be considered as the central religious landmark in the country. The old church exudes both grandness and reverence. A massive pipe organ sits at the loft above the main entrance. There are several chapels that are located on both sides of the cathedral and are very conducive to prayer and reflection. If you are touring Manila, a visit to the Manila Cathedral should be part of your itinerary.

A church worth visiting. The building itself withstands the time and is well maintained by its administrators both it's original design and structure. Of course, few modifications has been made for its convenience but you will still feel and see how it has been from the time it was newly built. Alot of staff takes good care of this church. Helping you out as well in filling and initiating health protocol guidelines for your safety as well. Security is in place as well for your ease of mind. Inside, the large and high ceiling ambiance will welcome you with architectural delight and very spacious seating capacity. This enables you to choose a seat to offer your prayers with social distancing in mind. Kindly give a LIKE 👍 if this helps! Follow ME for my other REVIEWS!

A really impressive and imposing building, with a nice park opposite and seating to admire. It wasn’t overly busy when I passed by which helped to avoid it feeling too touristy an area, but there’s still plenty of people nearby offering taxi and horse rides. A clean area and a spot everyone should check out on a visit to the city.

Not only is it such a beautiful church, it has deep rooted history in this amazing city of Manila in the Philippines. This was such a great experience for me to go in to see the gorgeous design of the church, and murals. I also suggest taking a moment to read all the history that the church, and the surrounding city went through over the course of this nation's history. It’s been a while even for me just to take a moment, and give a small prayer in thanks for everything that I have in life.

Mother of all Catholic churches in the Philippines. Past Archbishops interred into its crypt, which is off-limits to visitors, underneath the main altar. Air-conditioning is turned-on during services. Popular venue for Catholic weddings.

It's one of the best architectural designs of churches I have seen. Located at the heart of Intramurous, it is the main highlight of the city, always filled around with tourists and visitors. The church has mass prayers, I was lucky to attend one. It is really built well, and always boost a lot of tourists for side seeing. The entrance to church is free of cost.

A historical and cultural landmark, one of the most renowned churches in the country. You will be captivated by its luxurious and aesthetically pleasing interior. It is the perfect place to reflect and pray. Home of the Archbishop of Manila as the Cathedral serves as its episcopal seat and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception as the country's patron. The cardinal presides over Masses here on various occasions. Additionally, there have been three Apostolic visits from popes so far.

Visited The Manila Cathedral right after visited Fort Santiago since it's really close and within walking distance (still located in Intramuros area). Totally impressed by its magnificent beauty, and there're many people hanging out in the front of this cathedral (since it's like mini park right in the yard of the cathedral). Visited during nighttime so I totally can admiring its beautiful architecture and lighting. The only downside, there's a local man that I think also a drinks seller in the front of cathedral, bringing photo brochure and keep on forcing and bothering us with an offer to take him as our photographer and tour guide even though we already said no like hundreds of time (just ignore him, even though as the time passed by it could get to your nerves). Still one of the nicest architectural building designs that I've ever seen.

The Manila Cathedral is an awe-inspiring testament to faith and history. Nestled in the heart of Intramuros, this iconic cathedral stands as a symbol of resilience and devotion. The grandeur of its architecture, adorned with intricate details, creates a striking silhouette against the Manila skyline. A visit to the Manila Cathedral is not just a tour of a religious site but an immersion into the soul of Manila's rich cultural and religious tapestry.

A Roman Catholics church. Inside has an organ which really sounds great! And even the Church's interior really looks awesome. Outside view is also nice. When you're in Intramuros, this place is so easy to find. Go and have a visit. Best time to visit is on weekends since there might be bazaar outside the Church.

The Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (Filipino: Basilika Menor at Kalakhang Katedral ng Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi; Spanish: Basílica Menor y Catedral Metropolitana de la Inmaculada Concepción), also known as the Manila Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral de Manila), is the cathedral of Manila and basilica located in Intramuros, the historic walled city within today's modern city of Manila, Philippines. It is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, a title for the Blessed Virgin Mary, the principal patroness of the country. The cathedral serves as the episcopal seat of the Archbishop of Manila. The cathedral was originally a parish church in Manila under the Archdiocese of Mexico in 1571, until it became a separate diocese on February 6, 1579 upon the issuance of the papal bull, Illius Fulti Præsido by Pope Gregory XIII. The cathedral was damaged and destroyed several times since the original structure was built in 1581 while the eighth and current structure of the cathedral was completed in 1958. The basilica has merited a papal endorsement from Pope Gregory XIII and three apostolic visits from Pope Paul VI, Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis. On 27 April 1981, Pope John Paul II issued papal bull Quod Ipsum designating the cathedral as a minor basilica by his own Motu Proprio.

Entrance is near the San Agustin Church. You have to have the “StaySafePH” app installed in your mobile phones (for contact tracing for CoViD). Every person in the group needs to have this to register and be admitted in the compound and museum. Php75 is the price for admission to the museum. You are only allowed to walk on the carpeted path and of course are NOT allowed to touch the display. The place is beautiful. The intricate designs of the furniture is amazing. You get a glimpse of the life of the past. Please make this an itinerary when you visit Manila.

Manila Cathedral must be the best Catholic Church in Metro Manila. They have regular 7am and 12nn Mass. Fr. Regie Malicdim is the current Rector and Fr. Kali Llamado as the Vice-Rector. If you want to get married here, you have to book a year in advance. The Cathedral as it also serve as the burial place of the previous Archbishops of Manila. In the Crypt located beneath the Altar, rests Cardinal Sin.

It was a Blessed experienced I had. The Minor Basilica and Cathedral of Immaculate Conception or also known as the Manila Cathedral is one of the History landmark of the Philippines. It is located in the Intramuros near the Comelec Office. What makes this Cathedral blessed is that, the Pope, Mass here. This Church "survived" or still standing despite of many tragedies here in the Philippines. Thank you so much Lord God. I visited this Church. It was my Blessed experienced. I was in Safe and Blessed. Thanks God

Originally the Manila Cathedral, or now one of the Marian basilicas in the country at day time and at night time. With the Virgin Mary as patroness, it's complete name as the 8th iteration of the church, is now Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. From the original church in the 1500's, to the present day structure we see, it has gone through earthquakes, fires, and war just got bigger and grander at each construction. For its historical significance, it remains as the base cathedral of the Archbishop of Manila, so papacy masses are done here, the most recent being the 2015 visit of Pope Francis. Very prestigious church I must say. With the grand Plaza Roma setting the foreground, and the walled city as it's ambiance, it remains a cultural and spiritual landmark for Filipinos and citizens of the world alike.

The inside is kind of quiet since I go there around 2pm and few people were visiting and praying. Some are checking the souvenir shop inside and others just want to explore. Over all, magnificent. Wedding ceremony would be absolutely stunning in there.

I was astounded by the cathedral's majesty and splendor as soon as I stepped inside. The cathedral's unique architectural features, high ceilings, and vibrant stained glass windows are evidence of the Filipino craftsmen's talent and ingenuity. The cathedral's interior is dominated by the imposing altar, which made a lasting impression on me. The Virgin Mary and various saints are depicted in statues on the altar, which is decorated with beautiful carvings and gold leaf. In addition to having a stunning interior, the Manila Cathedral has a lengthy history. Over the ages, it has been destroyed and rebuilt numerous times, yet it has always served as a representation of the Catholic religion in the Philippines. Numerous significant historical occurrences, such as the declaration of Philippine independence and the papal visits of Popes John Paul II and Francis, have taken place in the cathedral. The Manila Cathedral's quiet and tranquil ambiance is among the things that most immediately caught my attention. The cathedral offers a haven of calm and tranquility while being situated in the center of a busy city. An atmosphere that is conducive to prayer and reflection is created by the soft lighting and the sound of the choir singing hymns. It is understandable why pilgrims and believers like visiting the cathedral. Overall, I had a wonderful time on my visit to the Manila Cathedral. This famous landmark's beauty and history are really breathtaking. Anyone who is interested in history, culture, or spirituality should definitely pay a visit. The Manila Cathedral is a real treasure of the Philippines and a symbol of the people's tenacity and inventiveness.

Manila Cathedral or the Manila Metropolitan Cathedral-Basilica is situated in the district of Intramuros in Manila. Originally, this church was the "Church of Manila" which was established and under the management of the Diocese of Mexico in 1571, but later in 1579 it became a separate diocese. The best time to visit is before sunset. The golden sky reflects on the facade. 07/2016

Beautiful Cathedral, from the Spanish architecture. The cathedral is very big, great designs inside the church. In the outside on the left side they have a statue of someone sleeping on a bench, the same statue is in Rio de Janeiro Cathedral. The story that it was told to me was that it was a Jesus Christ in a homeless situation. If you look close into the face is Jesus Christ.

Historic church at the westside of Intramuros grounds or at the forefront side. No entrance fee. Around the Intramuros area: Beware of beggars and mendicants, and please do not give any kind of money. Parking around the area is more expensive than usual at 100 pesos flat rate. Be careful of flagging down vehicles or horse carts. Be sure to get one that is authorized by the Philippine tourism authority . You will know as they will have valid identifications. Its captivating blend of Romanesque, Neo-Romanesque, and Gothic Revival styles instantly draws you into its cavernous interior, adorned with intricate carvings, statues of saints, and stained-glass windows that cast a kaleidoscope of colors. Beyond its religious significance, the Manila Cathedral is a testament to the Philippines' rich cultural heritage. Easily accessible, free to visit and offering a regular schedule of Mass services, The Manila Cathedral is the Prime Basilica of the Philippines and the highest seat of the archbishop in the country.

(Translated by Google) I went to the cathedral by horse-drawn carriage from KM 0. The gig made the Bonifacio Dr. up to the roundabout at km 1, with a golf course on the side that draws a U around the walls of Intramuros, the historic Spanish city. At the roundabout there is the detour to Intramuros, the cathedral is immediately there, in Piazza Roma. The Cathedral, dedicated to the Madonna, stands on one side of a square square with a garden in the center, overlooked by important buildings. Knocked down and rebuilt several times over the centuries, it seems in Romanesque style, given the arches and the rose window. Two doors with sculptures open onto the central door. The church has three naves but they are visible to the public only from the entrance, due to the closure due to covid-19.

Absolutely breath taking! My brother and I attended a mass 2 weeks ago. It was spiritually refreshing and at the same time this place is rich in history, with its Spanish architectural style stretching back from the colonial times. Though it's not well ventilated but they have air-conditioning system in some parts of the church.. Beware of the people outside the church that offers you tours around and inside the wall of Intramuros.

The Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral is a Neo-Romanesque Revival Architecture building. Its building roots travelling back from c.1571 as a Parish under the Archdiocese of Mexico. It was rebuilt and resdesigned eigth times until its final structure on c.1958. A church dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of Mary; thus, its principal patron, together with Saint Rose of Lima and Saint Potenciana as secondary patron saints. It is also the episcopal seat of the archbishop of Manila.

Majestic and historical place in Manila. The Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the Manila Cathedral, is the cathedral of Manila and basilica located in Intramuros, the historic walled city within today's modern city of Manila, Philippines. Manila Cathedral started to open their doors again to the public last September 16, 2020 to maximimum of 80 people with strict compliance of safety protocol.

The Church is well maintained. Structurally sound. Some historical details might be modified due to multiple renovations but still, the whole structure is breathtaking. There are also church's personnel that offers tour services around the cathedral if you want a deeper understanding about the history of the said place. There are souvenirs for sale inside the place. Best place to take photos as well. And, for those who are planning to set this place as a wedding venue, highly recommended. But I do recommend to avoid littering. Please observe cleanliness and order. Also, avoid making loud sounds / noise inside the cathedral. It is a place for worship. Please also respect other religion's practices and presence. Please don't vandalize. In general, very awesome place. Highly recommended to all tourist. Especially to those who want to see in person the one of the historical sites in the Philippines 🇵🇭

Beautifully restored place, not all historical, but giving a feeling of 19th century Intramuros. It reminded us of Mexico, a very romantic place with lots of photo motifs. You can rent bamboo bikes downstairs. Upstairs is a museum with colonial furniture and interior design. Casa Manila looks like a colonial house in San Nicolas built around 1850. It was constructed on behalf of Imelda Marcos in the 1980s.

Attended mass for the first time on site as I mostly attend virtual masses every Sunday. They have public parking at the back with security and you can make a donation (any amount) once you leave. There is also a pay parking just beside the cathedral and will try that next time. We were a bit late but the staff showed us the way to our seats. They asked for our vaccination cards, had our temperature and bags checked, and was given a laminated number for our seats.

One of the best churches to attend mass as you will be comfortable because of the airconditioning. The mass is really solemn and it's a nice place for praying. Both the interior and exterior of the cathedral is beautiful and grand. It really fits the name Manila Cathedral as it is within the historic Intramuros and symbolizes the Catholic community. The only issue when visiting is they don't have their own parking lot, you just have to find within the nearby areas. Be careful in finding one though because some guys would try to help you but then they would ask for money right away eventhough they don't look after that area.

Probably THE best cathedral in the Philippines, it is air-conditioned and really spacious, superbly clean and very optimal for praying and tourism. The bamboo organs were a sight to see (it was really gorgeous), and the ceilings walls were tall. The architecture really put life to the cathedral (in the inside and also from thr outside). The modern gothic architecture made it an eye sore (in a good way), and it makes you want to explore every inch of that place.
